PoliticsRe: Bankole For Ministerial Appointment ! by lucabrasi(m): 11:32pm On May 23, 2011
i think its a tad too early to pass any judgement on the man (jonathan) yet. howeer, his first few steps before inauguration are ill advised and apoear not to be well thought out. Ordering cement to manufacturers to drop the price of cement? good idea, no plan. he's asking them to drop the prices as if there no factors determining such and that cement manufacturers fix the cost of their products just because it is their aim to make nigerians stop all forms of building. we didn't hear of any discussions between government and the stake holders in the industry to come to a price that will favour both parties.

NNPC to fix the refineries? With pretty much the same set of people that siphoned money from efforts to revitalize the refineries? He'll still vote money for the repairs and refurbishment, money that will still fall into the same or similar set of hands as those that were there when obj did something similar.

Now its Dimeji Bankole for a ministerial slot, a man that should not even be consdered at all.

I hope these are not the kind of stories we'll be hearing about GEJ over the next few years.
so if you were president what would you do different?you expect him to wave a magic wand and clear up all the corrupt ppl and make everything right magically?

orisa bi oo le gbemi she mi bi o she bami loosely translates diety/god if you cant help me/my situation then pls leave me be in my present situation.
the rationale behind this proverb is that rather than worsen my situation from bad to worse, fryingpan to fire let me be in my present situation
CultureRe: Yoruba Idioms: Owe Yoruba, Itunmo Re Ati Lilo Re by lucabrasi(m): 12:23am On May 23, 2011
kaka ki kiniun she akapo ekun onikaluku a she ode loto, loosely translates that rather than the lion (kiniun i think?)being the keeper of the meat belonging to both it and the leopard, each one ll go off and keep its own meat(i know the explanation sounds dodgy but theres no easy way lol)
the rationale of the proverb is that rather than someone cheating and making your situation worse you ll rather go it on your own terms as it will be better than the present situation

PoliticsRe: It’s A Sin To Give South-west Speakership – Umeh, Apga Chairman by lucabrasi(m): 1:56am On May 22, 2011
Andre Uweh:
Just that am not comfortable with that betrayal aspect because every region does that, no point to single out the South east alone.
Anyway, if the south west gets that, no qualms. An ordinary man in the east does not care about who gets the position of this or that but wants to see a new way of doing things. For example, security improvement, prices of goods fallen, a network of good roads and bridges, regular power supply, creation of jobs, improvement of amenities in the health, education and other sectors.
They will revolt against any govt that denies them this basic amenities not who denyies them the assaulted speakership position or whatever.
the reason the south east is singled out is because the south east are the ones complaining of being sidelined, now umeh has added his own that it is a sin to give south west as if it is the south west's fault that they have not gotten their acts together, while the south east are saying its either senate house of rep or nothing people like obi's apga have already signed up to the government of national unity breaking the ranks now whose fault is that obasanjo??
before you blame anyone for the rovision of social amenities blame your governors first

PoliticsRe: It’s A Sin To Give South-west Speakership – Umeh, Apga Chairman by lucabrasi(m): 1:23am On May 22, 2011
Andre Uweh:
Quit chatting crap, south west politicians betray their own people more than others. Checkout those who betrayed Awo. How about Abiola, and the other general who wept sometime ago. Even the south west monarchs have betrayed their people more than any other monarchs from other region.
All this hypocrisy has to stop.
here we go victm mentality again, whats your own with their affairs?umeh was complaining about the speakership being zoned to the south west as if he was expecting them to give it to the south east on a platter of gold, whoever betrayed one another in the southwest has no bearing on the present political equation and if the south east politicians dont look inwards and make cohersive statement, then they wont even get the sgf post.keep on abusy obasanjo and south west while they are networking and pushing their own interests
PoliticsRe: Did The World End In Your Neck Of The Woods Yet? by lucabrasi(m): 1:03am On May 22, 2011

PoliticsRe: It’s A Sin To Give South-west Speakership – Umeh, Apga Chairman by lucabrasi(m): 1:01am On May 22, 2011
its not the south west he should be worried about but his fellow south eastern politicians, they are the ones who are in the habit of betraying each other and selling each other down the river at the first hint of financial inducement or ministerial posts.
the southwest are not expected to be fighting the south east's battle if obasanjo is pressing for south west let them to bring ojukwu, ezeife and others to fight their corner
PoliticsRe: Alaafin Of Oyo To Ooni Of Ife: Mind Your Own Business by lucabrasi(m): 12:58am On May 22, 2011
@busybody
happy new year o,but im afraid i ll disgree with you concerning this ooni of ife strictly on moral grounds ,the man has been divisive and partial in his support he has been the architect of confusion amongst  osun state politicians some of who are young enough to be his children all because of the filthy lucre of contracts.
it is totally wrong of him to encourage smaller obas to disrespect the alaafin of oyo just because he is richer and more influential than the man,no matter what he cant live another 50 years and if he continues with these trend of trying to re write history because of his ego it will come back later to hauntthe yorubas, i read a comment where someone mentioned the queen of england which is true mama charlie will never put any of her family or fellow royals down in public even if she is cross with them and this is simply to protect the royal institution.that is why the british royal family are respected all over the world.
the man is not only ridiculing the yoruba royal insitution by his actions, but bringing it into dis repute,
i will love to see how he will relate to action congress governor and other party officials with the way he has burnt bridges by openly and unashamedly supporting pdp
