Why can't nigerians simultaneously down the tools and seal off all the state houses and presidency in a peaceful but resilient demonstrations demanding for a complete change in the system.The politicians are really taking the piss.

We seems to have the means of communicating and reaching out,yet we are not acting,toothless bull dogs as ever. People in places like china,north korea,iran and the rest of the suppressed world will pray to have a bit of the internet freedom we have to make a great difference in their world.
and who do you suggest being at the vanguard of such a struggle,are you prepared to leave england to be at the forefront?

PoliticsRe: Satan Goes To Church : As Ritualists Storm Abia Church, Abduct Prophetess' Daughter, Strangle Her, by lucabrasi(m): 2:32pm On Apr 11, 2009
really sad,just wondering why it took so long for people to get there and engage the ritualists, considering the first guy that sneaked out purpotedly went into the town/village to sound an alarm,not only that but the foster mum as well,it would have taken them several minutes if not more than 1 hr to scatter the church,then proceed to tie and take the girl out,strangle her and then proceed to remove her eyes and other parts,where were the ppl huh
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Desperately Needs To Tax Religion by lucabrasi(m): 12:27am On Apr 11, 2009
@post
i totally and unequivocably disagree with that notion of taxing religion,while its all well and dandy heaqping all societal ills on religion we shouldnt forget that fiscal social responsibility is not their responsibility but a priviledge if they do it,also the adherents donate mney to them with eyes wide open,the fact that some ppl can suggest this means they have not hypnotised anyone.

if not for the likes of mfm,redeem and oher mega churches,developemental strides wouldnt have gotten that far down the lagos-ibadan expressway, plots of land go for well over 1 million naira where only less than ten years ago, you would have been given a plot of land for the price of a nokia handset,not forgetting that these mega churches also give hope to millions of average nigerians, in the absence of this,we will be sitting on a keg of gunpowder as a little spark could lead us down the rwanda road.

also,in an international climate where nigerians are known as a country ridden with corruption419ers,e.t.c these general overseers,pastors e.t.c are doing more to show nigeria in a positive image than any single individual or group of people,anyone that has attended festival of life in london will testify to how white british politicians limb over each other to kiss pastor adeboye's feet

Christianity EtcRe: Revealed Christians Started Ogboni In Nigeria by lucabrasi(m): 9:16pm On Apr 10, 2009
guess it should be on amazon,ill have a look,not sure about the illesa one but the spooky ones that sticks to mind is that of ijebu-ode,aparently its pronounced ije-ibu loosely meaning the food of the ibu(sea or river)the people who were originally kept there were sacrifices meant for the water diety.there was also one about a village/town in either osun or ondo area where they perform this tradition, and at the beginning of it,the king has to step on the blood of female virgins on his way to the special grove and when coming out has to walk over the blood of a male, really spooky

are you referring to Samuel Johnson's History of the Yorubas? huh

Ogboni and Freemasonry definitely have some historical links. there's a Brazilian connection as well.
i dont remember the author's name but the book is quite thick,around the size of a regular bible,it also explains the meaning of yoruba towns like ijebu-ode,illesa e.t.c and how the names came to be,diabolic/occultic mysteries,practises, freemason was imported to several countries,and they all all gave it their own names and re arranged the symbolisms,names,traditions to suit their own cultures

while i am not one of the man's adherents ,i really and truelly admire first the man's mien and maturity in not responding to verbal attacks,and how serious he takes his social responsibility,while i am not comparing his ministry to others,i think rather than condemning him,more religious institutions should follow his exacmples,happy birthday pastor joshua!

this is what they call ogboni in the past. OGBONI FRATERNITY OF THE CHRISTIANS
mr man,try and do a thorough research into isues before making comments based on half truths and distortions, the reason ogboni came to be through xtians is simply due to the fact that the colonialists who brough free mason to africa and by extension nigeria were xtians and introduced it to the closest people to them i.e the african xtians,they in turn now changed the name to ogboni adding there own and subtracting what they r not cool with,all these is contained in a voluminous book about the yorubas and early xtianity,its a shame im not in nigeria as the book is in my dad's library

@lucrabasi, my friends and I always had a rule not to talk on the phone whenever we got off the bus at night after one of our colleagues got mugged in Leytonstone station one early winter morning. i learnt the same lesson the hard way grin,my poor nokia 8850 r.i.p

For now, i think i can safely nominate Fashola and Oshiomhole. Lets wait until the end of their tenures to finally confirm that they are really Politicians we can be proud of. This is because our country has a way of rubbishing people who try to do their best. When they finally leave office, people start bringing out their skeletons grin grin

I may be brave enough also, to include Utomi.
even though im an avid fasholian,you can nominate them,but not safely untill the expiration of their terms,remember fine boy govenor and how all the girls in nigeria/cross river thought butter couldnt melt in his mouth grin

See who is talking about ethnic/tribal bias!
meaning,
naijaking1:
@Lucabrasi
We're talking about a present northern phenomena that has a tendency of becoming a national issue. The almajiri syndrome is a major issue in the north. The sons of the wealthy don't do this almajiri stuff. The sons of the wealth attend regular schools during the day time, while a whole bunch of other boys attend this parochial religious education as an alternative to a formal education. That's a serious national issue huh
its not only a national issue but a festering nat issue,which needs an all encompassing approach from all stakeholders, the problem is that most people are seeing it as a regional issue rather than a national issue

sorry but i think theres an exaggeration in the 10-15k figure,i was on that same road in 2007 and while one had to pay bribes,it was nowhere near 5000 talk less of 10,000,you have no choice but to grin and bear it as the alternative 'll be contending with armed robbers and car jackers throwing oranges with nails in them at your tires or the old trick of roadblocks, unless theres something else you r carrying that you v not disclosed,if they were making 10k off each driver,then they should be billionaires by now

CultureRe: Ancient Igbos Built Pyramids! by lucabrasi(m): 12:05am On Apr 10, 2009
ezeagu:
1. Ok, well done for using The Times Good university guide (you do know that you can't rely on those league tables? And the research was done before the 2008 Good university guide)

2. The fact that you think someone posting a topic about pyramids built by Igbo people "ethnic superiority", shows that it is not Igbo people, but you that does not see the Igbo as equally Nigerian. Your tone also reveals intense resentment and jealousy about Igbo people. And no, I do not beleive that Igbo people (a nation of over 30 million) can be collectively "superior" to anyone else. Funny thing is that you do. . . . . . . .
what other league fo we have that is on point reliable in knowing these things?secondly i scholled in the uk so as far as university ratings are concerned i know for a fact that the times guide is as good a guide as any you can use.

1.same way the poster cant rely on a random professor just because he is white and teaching in a british university, going by your assertion,the professor wasnt there when these things were built as well,so how sure are we really that he is accurate in his findings?see the logic or illogical conclusions in your assertions?
2 i dont think igbos or any tribe for that matter are superior to the other,that is the whole point of my comments,but if you care to check the fellow(romeo the biafran revolutionaire)who took me up on my comments and all his past comments and contributions on issues such as these,you will get a clear picture of both his mind set,and that of his revolutionaires/compatriots about other tribes in nigeria, its always the same thing,ibos are descendant of the jews,they are from egypt,they are the best educated,invented this and that e.t.cdont worry he knows what im talking about,its not his first time.

as for resentment,hell naw i have no time for that,and i also have a life so i wont start giving myself high bp over some infantille delusions of grandeur exhibited by a minute number of people as a feel good factor

in less than 50 replies,they have turned this one into a tribal issue again, hmmmn nigerians,
like i do most times,i wont blame the government seeing as its obvious they have neglected and totally abandoned their fiscal responsibilities but the individuals,who have tacitly ignored these issues untill it degenerated to this level,in my personal opinion nigerians in general not just the north have to see the issue of education and enlightenment in the north as a national crisis and adress it as such devoid of any tribal/ethnic bias
