The Sins Of Pastor E.A .Adeboye.
« on: May 06, 2009, 03:17 PM »

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1,Blocking of Lagos/Ibadan exprex way every month.
2,Lied that he once drove 300 miles without fuel.
3, used poor peoples money to acquire private jet worth over 4billion naira ( during the time of dire economic crisis)
4, Was used by Former president Obasanjo to cleverly gain public moral ground ( political used as a cover for many evil).
5, sutble use of religion  to promote yoruba culture ( by intentional use of cleverly feigned yoruba accent to preach on TV)
6, Making of ambiguous statement in the name of prophecy .
7, Finally lied to the public about the ownership of his dubiously acquired air craft,( after seeing the resentments he got from the public over the dubiously acquired air craft).

COULD THIS MAN REALY BE A MAN OF GOD ?

@poster

1.so pastor adeboye is the only one who blocks the lagos-ibadan express road?what of nasfat and the others there

2.since he said so,i dont see anyone disproving hi yet,so why is this an issue?especially if we his adherents being of sound mind believe him how is that hurting you?
3.we redeemers are not complaining especially seeing as we again believe the explanation given to us about the business arrangement
4.if men of GOD avoid sinners like ibori, obasanjo e.t.c who is there remaining to redeem them, the fact that they hang out with him ,will give him the opportunity of trying to convert them, thats why u see men of GOD with some chronic sinners he doesnt need obasanjo to get money or political patronage
5.in other words he doesnt speak englishhuh??
6.and which of the prophecies hasnt come to pass yet??

in your haste to cast the man in bad light, you have neglected to highlight the positives of the church, prior to redeemed inhabiting the bush, how much was a plot of land sold for along that place compared to now?

did you highlight the villagers, property developers/speculators e.t.c all getting regular jobs, and a proper standard of living as a result of redeemed and others on there?

go and find out what has happened to people who v blasphemed about covenant men of GOD,so my solemn advice will be for you to be very careful words you utter
BusinessRe: Outsourcing Business In Nigeria: Why Can't It Work? by lucabrasi(m): 11:38pm On May 09, 2009
i disagree with the power assertion, though not entirely, however i think it has a lot to do with our political leadership and their penchant for arbitrarily disobeying laws, many international businesses will have seen what happened to the vaswanis after they were deported all of a sudden even though they have businesses worth billions of naira here, the second reason in my opinion is the bad rep we have in the international business arena

i totally and unecuivocally subscribe to the comment above, the fact that a lot of africans have a skewed sense of morality doesnt throw away the sense of right and wrong that has always been part and parcel of africa,as for homosexuals, its not african at least not in nigeria and if disagreeing with everything they stand for is a problem, then i really dont give a rat's behind, homosexuality is not only morally wrong,it is evil!!

PoliticsRe: Ekiti: INEC Commisioner Resigns; Okiro Declares Her Wanted by lucabrasi(m): 12:34am On Apr 30, 2009
adros84:
No Accolades for Her

Much as I would have wanted to join the bandwagon to praise this woman, I find it difficult to do so. and I have my reasons:

1. At 74, she should not have been too afraid to die. She should have looked those pressurising her in the eye and told then to go jump in the Lagoon and then go ahead with the announcement of the true result.

2. She did not resign out of patriotism but because she did not want to do anything against her Christian Faith". standing for the truth should not be premised on religious grounds but on the fact that only the truth is good. Whether one is a Christian, a Muslim, an atheist, a traditionalist, the truth should always be upheld

3. Christianity never taught that we run away from evil. It says resist it. If she is a Christian as she claims, the she is a weak one. Did the scriptures not say God has not given us the spirit of fear?

4. I do not see any genuine christian being a Resident Electoral Commissioner because most of them lobby to get the post. No genuine Christian lobbies for such posts

5. Finally, I think above all that she owes the people of Ekiti and the two candidates who have spent so much on preparations for the election a duty to come out of hiding and declare the true results.

Nairalanders, am I saying this is an easy task. Of course no. But once a man or woman accepts a job knowing the danger inherent in it, he should do it even if he or she loses his life in the course of doing it.

I rest my case.
i dont really agree with you,
1.she did what anyone will do,that is highlighting and bringing these issues in the open,if she jumps in the river or whatever, how many nigerians with that kind of conscience would we have left?btw hope you realise that by her resignation letter, she has actually done more putting the government in an awkward position that she would have done by any other action.
2.yes but the fact that she mentiones her religion means in her own case that was her moral compass which informed her decision
3.yes and christianity and the bible also enjoins us to think deeply and take our time before taking action,it also teaches us to do things with wisdom, hence the reason jesus christ did not rise to satan;s bait to jump off the mountain e.t.c to prove he had the power
4.well irrespective of how she got there, why dont you live that to her and her GOD,especially seeing as none of us know the intrigues that went on behind and we r not allowed to judge lest we be judged, moreover its obvious that if she can refuse financial inducement to announce a warped election solely on the strenght of her religious conviction, then she would already have asked GOD for forgivemess for lobbying if she did,so who are we to cast aspersions?
5.well you should be applauding her now that she has publicly announced that she is a member of the inec family, meaning she will conduct the rest of the elections and annul the ones which needs to be.

i dont see anything out of place in her recanting her statement as it were, bearing in mind that she might have sent the letter in under duress due to the threats being directed at her, also the opposition ac have always stated that she is the only rec they ll accept announcing results so as far as they are concerned, this should be good news, even though nigeria is a country of never say never,i personally think for her to make a public comment twice through her aides on focus nigeria and the radio station that the ido osi under contention didnt follow the legal process, shows she will not announce the non-collated results from there, so irrespective of her present stance,i still firmly believe the right thing will be done
BusinessRe: What Will You Do With 2 Million Naira Given To You To Keep For 6 Months - Pls Advise by lucabrasi(m): 10:12pm On Apr 28, 2009
you could do a simple fixed deposit and negotiate terms specifying that you only want to keep it for 4 months, with the way and manner banks look for deposit these days, theres bound to be one that ll give you favourable interest rates, however like outstrip has counselled, the safest and best thing to do is not to touch the money, a good name is way hard to build but easy to destroy, the guy must trust your judgement and character before entrusting you with such an amount, besides you never know he might have some major plans for you, seeing as honest people who can keep such an amount without scheming to swindle are hard to come by

PoliticsRe: Ekiti: INEC Commisioner Resigns; Okiro Declares Her Wanted by lucabrasi(m): 9:51pm On Apr 28, 2009
its highly probabale that her resignation was
1.unexpected,hence was a big embarassement both for the government and the pdp party aparatus, already the lady is beco
ming a matyr of some sort, and they want the police to demistify her before it gets out of hand.

2.due to the fact that weighty allegations and counter allegations were flying to and from both the ac and pdp on the cause of her resignation,it behoves the i.g to call her in to make an official report especially considering the security situation in ekiti which needs to be diffused, all in all this will be very interesting to see how it plays out,if nothing ekiti has broken a couple of records
1.first to withstand the pdp rigging aparatus
2.an individual in a high position in nigeria honourably resigning

PoliticsRe: Why The Division? by lucabrasi(m): 1:14am On Apr 28, 2009
ElRazur:
It appears you may be making some wrong assumptions here. No one have exactly told Nigerians to stand and watch, or tell them what to do. People's opinion and fact presented in a debate should not be seen as a "I am telling you what to do" kind of thing.
Yes the freedom fighters did it the way they see fit as at the time. We have some how moved on from that era, and we are dealing with ever so slightly different issues here.

You appear to have this thinking of seeing people who are abroad as some sort of Magic pill of some kind. Let us look at the broader picture shall we? Allow me to use myself as an example. My area of "expertise" is highly specialised, as a result I can make a contribution in a little way like you are saying. However, this area is not developed back home due to other fundamental problems that have made it even more complicated and highly impossible for me to carry out what I can do best.
There isn't constant electricity and even with Generators, it is hard time getting fuel. There isn't any properly executed initiatives to see money pumped into the sector I would love to work back home. Can you imagine the light going off in the middle of an urgent assay? A result that patient life depended upon?
well in your first parahraph,i see you trying to make your assertions fit, first lets clarify issues here, how else is the average nigerian meant to "do something to change the status quo"ill allow you to answer that question before making my comments, second i dont see anything different in what the pan africanist of yore were up against and what we are up against now,the only difference is the colour and citizenship, the colonialists were taking advantage, now the oligarchs are doing the raping.

im not saying diasporians have a magic wand of some sort, bearing in mind that i am a diasporian as well,so its not a question of me against them mentality here, also while you might have a highly specialized job,can that be said for majority or even many diasporians?my point being, that isnt enough justifications,
no one demographic can single handedly solve the nigerian problem,so no sane person will either heap the blame on the diasporians neither will anyone heap all the blame of in action on the nigerians resident in nigeria as well, the point here is that before any diasporian scornfully dismisses government initiatives offhand with comparions with america or the uk,he/she should ask what have i done in my own little way?
we both remember john f kenedy's popular and often used saying , DONT ASK WHAT YOUR COUNTRY CAN DO FOR YOU,ASK INSTEAD WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR COUNTRY
ElRazur:
You see, until these things are rectified - i.e the Fundamental issues that makes it impossible for people like me to make a positive contribution, some of us will carry on working here. You see, the problem do not lie with us, but from the inability for "whoever is responsible" to put in place a few things that allows people like me to come and give my services.

People do not need violence in my opinion. What we need back home, is what I would call a self-examination, a reality cheak and a re-birth of our thinking ways. We have tried doing things and it somehow do not work, or come below expectation. I personally believe that, if we have to apply those few things I mentioned, then we have a greater chance of seeing positive changes than we are seeing now.
this is why i keep on going on about the same thing day in,day out,why should i a citizen of nigeria wait for some mythical obama to make things right??we both know there is little chance of that happening either in this generation or the next 10 thousand years, a friend of mine whose dad is a close friend to david mark said the man has arranged a 5 million pounds trust fund for one of his sons, that is besides all the properties and monies he has scattered all over,do you honestly see your own or my child having a fair chancewith that boy?lets not kid ourselves that he ll fritter away the money,he wont, hedge fund managers are more than willing to work at multiplying the millions of pounds while the boy is sleeping in bed drinking champagne, hence the earlier we take our destiny in our hands and start doing something pro active apart from constant sneering online, then we are only kidding ourselves, the funny thing is that babangida, yar adua, ibori and co dont even know nairaland exist so who is kidding who really??

dont worry about the "self-examination"we have done enough of that,in fact we have gone further and have chronologically stated solutions to every single problem plaguing us,the problem is implementation, which is where every nigerian comes in both diasporian and nigerian resident in nigeria, the point of my preamble is that waiting for"whoever is responsible"to clear the mess, will be an endless wait we will wait, and our great grand children will wait, check what is happening in ekiti state, the actions and in actions of the supposed obama generation in nigeria(i.e dimeji bankole, omisore, otedola e.t.c)and you will have a clear idea of where we r heading to if we do not say anything
ElRazur:
See above. I am more than happy to throw my hat in, only that there isn't a ring and I don't even know who am supposed to speak to about the ring!

I think you may have forgotten that this is a forum, and a place where debate takes place. Criticizing or pointing at the obvious is part and parcel of what makes this place interesting. No one is making it a habit or past time to become a critic. If anything, the criticism comes as a result of inactions on part of Nigeria. The criticism comes due to poor track record, it comes due to perpetual habit of the government presenting initiatives, that to most lacks common sense etc. You can see, it is Nigeria that gives the ammo for her to be shot at.
well, the ring is there if you are really willing to throw the hat in, the likes of awolowo, zik e.t.c and modern day professionals like ekwesili, iweala ,the stock exchange woman e.t.c all found the ring and threw their gele in,cause they were willing to stand up and be counted.

you are totally and unequivocably so,it is a public forum, and so same way you have a right to your opinions is the same way i have a right to mine, im guessing you are resident in the united states,so you will have been familiar with the bill of rights and the un human rights charter, let me share a little story my pastor told us about a man who is always telling everybody he will be a great man,but never did anything to actually strive at or actualise that dream, when he died on his head stone, his family put the inscription"the man WHO WAS TO BE GREAT LIES HERE"
as for being an unrelenting critic, pls speak for yourself,as the people i am reffering to know themselves,

you are not saying anything new sir,we know all these things and pro democracy activists have been highlighting them,so clearly"advocating"isnt working, while we are on nairaland"advocating, casting and binding, rebuking ,decreeing and declaring"the likes of stepping stone's gary foxtrot a hwite british man with no connections to nigeria has selflessly volunterred his time and effort to take care of our children, white western students are taking a year off volunteering to teach in african backwater schools, raising money for african charities on high streets e.t.c and all we can do is highlight the faults and point it out continually day by day without an concrete actions backing it up.
you are right they r giving ammo, but you seem to be forgetting that they r not losing out,the leaders and their off springs are having a nice time,so either we talk or not is inconsciquental as far as they are concerned, after all talking doesnt hurt
ElRazur:
If it helps your case, I have posted a few "well dones" at some stories I have seen. smiley

You do realise that being pro active, do not mean I have to be involved directly? In fact, I would go as far as saying having this debate here is a form of indirect pro activity. Perhaps I should ask you what you would propose, or what is your definition of being pro active about the issue affecting Nigeria? Coming home to make a change?
dont worry about me sire, the well dones dont affect me one way or another, like you i am based in a western country sipping my soya milk and orios as we speak smiley

well being pro active to me is actively participating in changing the status quo, this is not by endless criticism which doesnt really do much,as experience have shown but being an active participant in our own little way,i have said this before and ill say it again, only 2% of nigerian children in orphanages are ever adopted,if each diasporian committed him or herslef to sending 20pounds every month for each child, that would be a huge load of the society's neck,
where are the volunteers educating the market women, drivers, plumbers e.t.c about their roles in voting and the electorate generally?
where are the diasporians who have supposedly seen the value of education and enlightenment going to the north and helping the overwhelming illiterate and dis enfranchised children in the north?

after all we have supposedly been "abroad"and brough back the knowledge of the correct way of doing things,
these are not actions which have not being done before, white kids in their teens and their twenties are taking a year of university to help us do our duties,i could give you websites dedicated to university undergrads in the united states, australia, canada,uk taking a year off to teach in african universities including nigeria
ElRazur:
I disagree. It makes more sense because from where I am coming from, I have the will and the urge to effect a change, however due to circumstances beyond my control I am forced to watch for now. Ask yourself, how many changes would you like to see? How many of those can you truly achieve when it comes to issues affecting Nigeria? There, I rest my case.
well, this is where our individual reasoning departs on different paths, while i earnestly believe in doing th little i can, you might think you r not doing anything like you have asserted untill you r in the position to do so, brings to mind a pidgin english saying i like so much"at all at all na him bad"
as for asking myself how many changes will be desirous ,the answer is any change at all is a change sire, a block of classrooms in an obscure local government is a couple of children less who will face a hard time studying, if you were resident in the united kingdom,a programme shown on one of the tv stations extreme holiday or so,there was an average english family who took it upon themselves to adopt a whole ghananian village, providing them with water, school blocks e.t.c, that is their own idea of a family holiday, what do our own diasporian holiday makers do on their nigerian trips?we know dont we,

INEC chief resists pressure to announce fake results
By Odunayo OgunmolaPublished TodayNewsRating: Unrated
Resident Electoral Comm: I won’t go against my conscience

Mrs Adebayo THICK black smoke billowing into the sunny sky. Angry youths shouting and motorists scampering off the road.

All was tense yesterday in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, where the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) faced the big task of announcing the result of the rerun governorship election held on Saturday.

INEC commissioner Mrs Ayoka Adebayo was under pressure to declare that Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Mr Segun Oni won the election. She declined, it was said.

Mrs Adebayo was said to have been told to announce Ido/Osi Local Government’s results, but she declined, saying the results were not signed by the agents. Besides, she said collation was not done at the appropriate place.

Mrs Adebayo said she would not be part of any fraud, it was learnt, even as the pressure on her was intensified.

Mrs Adebayo rejected the collation of results from Ido/Osi where PDP claims to have 15,939 votes and those of Ifaki 1 and 2, which AC officials alleged were loaded to make up the 15,000.

Mrs Adebayo spoke last night of her ordeal. She told Ekiti State Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) chairman Dr Samuel Omoyeni: "I thank God; I’ve left the place. I can’t do anything against my conscience. I’m a Christian.

"They want me to announce fake results. I can’t – at my age; for how much?"

On her alleged illness. Mrs Adebayo said: "I’m hale and hearty; I’m not ill". I’m fine,

She said she had informed INEC chairman Prof Maurice Iwu of her stand.

On who has the right to declare the result, Mrs Adebayo said: "I’m the only one permitted to declare results, but I’ve told everybody that I won’t work against my conscience.

"I promised fairness and I won’t change my stand. Thank you."

The fate of the election, which was held in 61 wards spread across nine local government areas, remained shaky last night, with AC supporters and officials in insisting on the cancellation if Ido/Osi results for widespread violence and massive irregularities, including non-signing of results which were collated outside INEC’s office.

The election, which failed to hold in the two wards in Oye-Ekiti in Oye Local Government Area for the second time, did not hold yesterday, following violence by suspected PDP thugs who were caught thumb-printing ballot papers ahead of the election scheduled for the day. They engaged policemen in a shoot-out, but were eventually overpowered.

About eight of the hoodlums holding Pump Action rifles were arrested in the town, whisked to Ado-Ekiti and detained.

The hoodlums were said to be on the entourage of Senator Femi Kila, which was stopped by policemen in Oye town. They allegedly had weapons concealed in two vehicles following Kila’s Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV).

Kila later drove into the residence of a fellow senator, Ayo Arise. The boys arrested by the policemen were later taken to Ado-Ekiti.

There was a massive protest by irate youths in Ado-Ekiti who were enraged by the delay in announcing the remainder of the results. They accused the electoral agency of doing the bidding of The Presidency to manipulate the result in favour of Oni.

The protesters, weilding leaves, warned against any attempt to impose on the people a result that is different from the ones collated at the council areas where the elections were held.

They massed at the main collation centre at the Christ’s Girls Secondary School, Fajuyi, singing. A massive traffic jam ensued.

The placard-carrying protesters were later joined by more people as the protest continued, with youths chanting "Rig and Roast" and warning that the state would be on fire if the wish of the people is subverted.
