JJYOU:maybe the question is this, what is the going salary for the c.e.o of a company making 4.5 million in profit a year at least compared to what pastor mathew is earning?bearing in mind that all the tax free noise they are making is only 1.3million which the church can pay with ease without affecting the pastor's salary. also, while the "air head footballers"are running around the field to make 100k a week, pastor mathew is embarking on years of research to write best selling books, vcds, cds e.t.c which is where the bulk of his money comes from. while your footballers are running around,he is having sleepless nights busy drafting speeches, articles e.t.c and travelling round the world delivering speeches which he is being paid hansomely for, im sure no one is saying he should turn over all the proceeds he made from his own intelligence and sweat over to the church just because it is a charity?? we should also be aware that HE IS NOT IN CONTROLL OF THE CHURCHES FINANCES,THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES ARE, this is a law governing charities in the united kingdom and cannot be side stepped in any way! he is not the cause of the present decline in the church of england, and rather than letting petty jelousy, insitutional racism e.t.c becloud their collective reasoning, they should sit down and work with him and other pentecostal churches to draw their people back to GOD like the oral roberts, kenneth hagin ,j osteen e.t.c of america have done sucessfully |
ikeyman00:yes,we know the roads are messed up,but should we resist an alternative form of transportation altogether because of this?besides if this is done, there ll be less pressure on the roads from road users/commutters as more people will use the trains, causing less accidents and the govt having the road in proper focus and perspective, besides then we will know for sure that at least one medium of transportation is reliable |
sbo:and yet ,you have no justifiable reason for your assertion. it is needed because the most volume of trade happens inter state, the man from the north providing the tomatoes, yam e.t.c for you on the other side, providing meat, the ibo man bringing his spare parts, textiles e.t.c from lagos to his shop in the north, the business man going to lagos once a month having to contend with the tires bursting in izu chukwu buses, drivers sleeping off e.t.c maybe you should ask your respective governors what they have done with their federal allocations, before blaming federal govt for not sorting mass transport on the state level. if you have read about the technology, you will realise that feasibility studies, planning e.t.c is actually abut60-70% or more of the total job,so that point is a moot one as far as this scheme is concerned,as for patronage, simply take a cursory look at the volume of business transactions between lagos and the northern area and the underlying areas and that ll give you more than enough justification for patronage sbo:that is besides the point, like you have asserted, lagos state is undertaking its responsibility by embarking on the light rail initiative, rather than blaming anybody, the other stateswho need the same should embark on similar project to alleviate the transportation logjam, you might not see the need but,ask people who do and they ll tell you how helpful it will be for their business to just hop on a train and not worry about tires bursting, driver dozing off,the comfort e.t.c sbo:what the poster addressed were the rights and wrongs inherrent in the project initiative, including the justification for this initiative which is what ill limit myself to,however bearing in mind that you are also speaking from a realm of speculation as you do not have acess to the relevant documents, let us just say that handling a good projec the wrong way is not enough reason to jettison it when it could be easily corrected after all they r still on paper |
@post typical!!instead of directing your angst at the cause of the ineptitude and lethargic govt we have, pastor ashimolowo is the target, the british govt has had it in for the man as a result of institutional racism and their religious intolerance,he isnt the only one even redeedemed as well, the monies and properties in question isnt the man's personally but for k.i.c.c as an entity and he doesnt make decisions without the board of trustees so whats anyone's biz wax?? yes,he makes money and gets paid a salary but he works hard for that priviledge, people dont go to the church because its k.i.c.c. they go there to listen to pastor ashimolowo talk, his books, vcds, dvd and other memorabilia are borne out of years of painstaking research so he deserves any amount he makes out of them.he doesnt just preach prosperity but financial prudence from a xtian point of view and how xtians can drop the shakles of debt e.t.c he was the very first person i heard talking about the dangers of sub prime mortgage and credit of any kind as for what he is building in nigeria,we should be careful not to comment on what we dont know about,he is building an ultra modern hospital and nursing school, not in lagos but a village in osun state tos how how important his sense of social responsibility is |
texazzpete:exactly at the bolded, besides who are the overwhelming potential commutters?traders and travellers who ll probably use it more in pursuance of their businesses, that is not even considering rails being safer than the izuchukwu and abc transports |
in this age of rapid and massive technological advancements,i dont believe anyone will come online and assert that a rail line is a waste of time/resources, rather than putting a tribal spin to it as is usual in most discourses on here, make an objective and pragmatic appraisal and you will discover how totally wrong you are |
@poster and most importantly, weep for yourself for being in another man's country pointing to yours with the left hand |
agabaI23:hmmmmnn, i tire o ![]() |
blacksta:by assering that his lineage are 419 practitioners e.t.c is not only descending to his level but being as bad as he is,you should have known the modus operandi of biafran revolutionaires by now,you make a comment and one person attacks you, once you reply you get like 1 million people at your throats, jst ignore it @poster while i agree to the question asked as to why the igbos are not being allowed to go form their biafra,as i dont see how them leaving will adversely affect nigeria in the long run, not in the least however,i totally disagree with the notion that they are the cause of nigeria's stagnancy, that is not only an ignorant statement, but highly misleading and erroneous, for starters, they have not had a chance at being president coupled with the fact that the northern extraction have majorly being in control of the govt, and key areas |
bawomolo:i tire o,if a man ignored the lady they ll say nigerian men are not this, and african men are that |
a subways in nigeria will definitely be sucessful, but you have to be particular with the location as that is key to attracting the right demographics, once you are not willing to skimp on paying for the ideal location ten u ll be smilling |
ppl just make libelous and unsubstanciated, wild accusations, hopefully one day the nigerian judiciary will get to a stage where people will be sucessfully prosecuted and made to pay heavy compensations and fines for such stories and allegations |
udezue:issues with igbos??dude dyu even know if im igbo?lol check my first comments, before romeo the biafran revolutionaire dipped his oar in, im not in the mood for bric bats so ill just totally ignore the insults, as for the usual verbal e-jungle justice mentality y'all are used to,it wont work on me so just give it a rest igbo kwe zuenu!!! |
jazzsoul:exactly, the problem is that nigerians have been betrayed so many times that they have lost faith and are cautiously optimistic when anyone tells them what to do, remember the hundred or so ppl that died during the mko abiola riots, they never got compensated, yet the nadeco chieftains all got their political appointments through this, when abiola came back before he was arrested,he said he never sent anyone to riots, the likes of festus keyamo, ozehkome e.t.c all used the average nigerians to further their careers, and then dropped them like rotten oranges,i believe things will start to change first if we diasporians can start to go back home and sensitize the illiterates, villagers e.t.c on the power of their votes, the danger of selling their conscience e.t.c also the youths need to be brought back and galvanized into action, imagine national association of students ,the umbrella body of nigerian students endorsed virtually all the corrupt politicians showing they have been compromised, what are we doing to talk to the youths, students starting a sort of youth movement, we have to be seen to identify with them, and what they r going through for them to totally trust us enough to stand up and fight again like they did during the millitary regime, and hope 93 e.t.c |
i didnt really know much about the guy untill i read this, and i must confess i am eminently impressed by his business savvy and determination |
ode remo:lol, dont get me wrong im not saying i admire dele momodu's stance,im just saying he shouldnt be castigated for it thats all, considering the demographics targeted by his mag, remember its a lifestyle mag |
i v asked myself like u requested, and im perfectly ok,now u ask yourself, romeo why cant u make coments without an outpour of insults and bitterness, the video might have highlighted her roots, but we both know igbos will come in a minute to say the assertion is warped, its not the first time, remember the thread where it was asserted that african americans are igbos?lol just check the culture section ![]() |
Outstrip: jazzsoul:i dont think you get the context of an average nigerian,an average nigerian cant afford 3 square meals talk less of buying shares worth about260 or so naira while at its best before crashing, their feud will favour the average nigerian because the price of dangote's monopoly will be forced down namely cement, sugar, rice, macarony, flour e.t.c and otedola's stranglehold on diesel, kerosene e.t.c the fact of the matter is that a country where one of the major businessmen who has monopolised and taken advantage of the financial market,is made the vice president of its stock exchange isnt ready to enter the world market,as for destroying the integrity of the stock market,we they didnt have any to start with,i was all a smoke screen,i lost faith the day i heard that the woman onyiuke with the collusion of obasanjo were using the nse funds to run pdp campaigns |
irrespective of what anyone thinks, dele momodu didnt set out to be a crusader or an activist,he is catering to a small demographiocs namely the eminent and rich achievers bla bla bla in the society, and these are the people he set out to feature in his magazine, not the squalor in ketu or ipaja,or appeal tribunial e.t.c we have enough media outlets for that anyone that feels strongly about his stance,is very free to set up his /her magazine and do what dele momodu has failed to do,the fact of the matter is that whaever we think of him,he set out to do a job and so far has done it creditably well |
romeo:wow dude, cant you make comments without abuse?neway i stand by my comments, considering the egyptians are igbo, jews are igbo, pyramids first made by igbos,im sure tower of babel was by igbos as well, forest whittaker igbo, like one of your ppl said most african american, u guessed it igbo so it follows by reason of deduction, she has to be igbo lol |
really?maybe im wrong but i believe igbos actually exhibit their culture more and speak their language more than yorubas especially abroad, they also dont change their names or first names unlike yorubas especially the ladies/girls i could be wrong tho but thats what i have seen |
t200m:@seun,if you really want to buy a very good script, ill suggest you listen and take to this dude's advise, if what you want is a blockbuster then it really cant be done in a week or 2 weeks unless there are more than enough shakespeare and wole soyinkas on here, the very few movies that were sucessful both in the yoruba and igbo speaking genre didnt take 1 week to write their scripts, moreover i think its better to state the kind of scripts you want for a measure of coherence unless you r buying them as a collection of some sort, thriller, romance, romantic comedy, action, action adventure,sci-fi(believe it or not lol) e.t.c |
i bet she is igbo too, ![]() |
while i agree with the article,i think the problem in nigeria has surpassed the article writer's assertions, the fact of the matter is that even if we sort out the geographical anomaly, the corrupt politicians will still find a way to continue stealing their various ethnic affiliations blind, have we ever wndered why atiku an hausa man will get a chieftaincy title in iboland?or ibori will get a chieftaincy title in hausaland e.t.c the fact is that they all have a bond, which is holding the country in perpetual misery, they will never allow the country to devolve to true federalism without a fight. the north who are always the usual scapegoat actually have a rougher deal that the rest of nigeria contrary to popular opinion, the oil boom only favoured the northern oligarchs who are in a tiny minority. they actually came out worse because they are mainly uneducated and this played into the politicians handfs who ll rather keep them in perpetual ignorant so that they can do their bidding i.e as political thugs. oil boom was oil doom for them as it virtually destroyed their agricultural sector, ground nut pyramids, animal and husbandry, dairy e.t.c leaving them with virtually nothing to do but ranka dedeing in front of politicians gates for 100naira notes and maybe a bowl of tuwo |
asha 80:exactly,now we begin to ask ourselves why nigerians are not patriotic?if u ask me ill keep on saying the same thing i v been harping on about, and left to me its in two parts non patriotism in nigerians in the diaspora non patriotism in nigerians in nigeria nigerians in the diaspor dont have any excuse, because first they have seen the way things ought to be done, they have more disposable resources, and have the necessary atmosphere and frame of mind to actually start sensitizing people back home, going back home being proactive rather than leaving what is our resposibility to white charity workers and activists, and then having the gall to turn around and blame ppl for being in active. as for nigerians in nigeria, they have been battered by sucessive millitary governments, they have been betrayed by countless politicians and so called pro democracy activists, and it has gotten to a stage where people are so distrustful that they are cautiously optimistic whenever they r called to stand up yet again to confront anybody,i cant imagine myself being told to participate in a rally of some sort when to get a meal of eba with no meat is like an herculean task, also where are the inspirational, morally upright e.t.c speakers/leaders who will inspire and motivate people |
@sagamite heard its gotten really bad now,the somalians who r mostly residend in woolwich actually prefer using knives, the nigerian kids carry guns and are getting younger and younger by the day, what i always tell people is never to struggle with them if you get mugged as a mobile phone and credit cards or a couple of hundred pounds isnt equivalent to one's life, look at the man they beat to death for askn them to leave the front of his house @blackboy dude, this is a word of warning, either its in lagos or anywhere else in naija or abroad, never struggle with thieves as your life is much more precisou that any amount of money or what not, the fact of the matter is that for anyone to decide to rob, then a level of desperation is involved, one of our drivers in nigeria tried to overpower one of the armed robbers who came to our house because he only had a cutlass, before he knew it another one coming from behind with a double barrelled gun shot him point blank in the stomach, the man died with his entrails/intestines spilling all over, bloodied and in spite of 200,00o plus deposit eko hospital collected, funny thing is that the robbers didnt suceed in robbing and was actually leaving |
proudly9ja:now,you r getting to the crux of the matter, the thing is that diasporians tend to be the harshest critics of nigeria and the nigerian situation, yet when it comes to actually doing something practical about it,you see them withdraw into their cosy shells,i remember during the hope93 campaign, people arrived in droves from america,uk e.t.c young men and women who made tee shirts and caps and other memorabilia campaigning for m.k.o, some of these diasporians are the nadecos asha 80:food for thought isnt it, i think its a mixture of individualism and missing a sense of patriotism, and i mean both nigerians in nigeria and the diaspora |
TOYOSI20:thank you very much,GOD bless u, enuff said @post americans ,british e.t.c didnt run abroad and make comments "from the other side" urging their fellow citizens on ground to stand up and fight, |
why should an average nigerian support any of them both?they r both thieves who have been raping the nigerian economy for ages so the more they fight, the better for us |
Ijawman:dude,i v got to be factual with you, tribalism is a desease,if not you ll have noticed the woman is african american, and was actually making fun of the man's acent, give it a rest already! |
@tiffcisco while i am still totally and utterly against gay marriage, dont you reckon you r invading your friend's privacy by posting an intimate photo of him and his partner locking tongues? |
