samhay: Thanks for this,av no much to say, God bless you for echoing my thought on that bolded part.
Sentiments already made some peeps deaf. This is a singing competition TY mix will always tell you,do not trade singing for performance
'We will rock you' came on I think during the France 98 World cup and OMG..... It is presently my ringtone, but I just changed it cos Yusuf just destroyed it... Yusuf gave a lazy performance........ He was like, is not my strong point , so I'm not going to attempt it. But the most disappointing is Praise's judgement. I don't think the guy understand his role as a judge. He's not their friend. He's not there to make them feel better. Rather he's there to challenge them. He's there to criticize them. He's there to make them think. Yusuf feck up and all he could can Say is how Yusuf is a good friend. Abeg who's a bad friend among the contestants. |
TV/Movies › Re: MTN Project Fame Season 9 Official Thread by luvmijeje(f): 8:03pm On Aug 21, 2016 |
Yusuf haff set a record o...........The first contestant in the history of project fame to sing only chorus. Abi there's no verse in the song or maybe my ear is doing tinini Tanana.
May God bless TYmix on his comment on Kitay. This guy used his cocaine voice from beginning to the end.......... from his low registers to high registers and he still manage to stay on key and all you can Say is that the song is not the right song for him. May God forgive Praise. Kitay is just too damned versatile.
If you are among those that didn't sing very well last week but did great this week sorry I'm still not impress........ There's only slight difference between you and Yusuf. I'm just saying.
Mirabel, Dapo, Steve, Okemuite Eli all did it for me tonight. |

TV/Movies › Re: MTN Project Fame Season 9 Official Thread by luvmijeje(f): 10:45am On Aug 21, 2016 |
In all honesty if I'm Yusuf, I won't vote a friend who gave me a foolish title called King of probation.
There's a thin line between making a joke and making fun of someone. Benjamin made fun of him publicly when he was on probation. A friend don't do that. |

Oluchiiiiii.......... I also felt like going through my phone to hug her. I dare say this babe is the best female vocalist for this season....... Apologies to Okemuite, Blessing and Lizzy. She just don't know how to use it.
Joseph, Blessing, Gabby and of course Oluuchi did it for me today. |

The guy in charge of editing Kitay and Elizabeth's part no be better person. The guy really know how to put someone in the mood.
As is about to go down, the guy was just playing one slow song for background. The attraction between then is beautiful, romantic and matured. |

gara11: Eyo God bless you..... The guy is from crossriver or Akwa ibom. He loves to rap and he's also an escape artist who always escape elimination night despite been put on probation nearly every week. He came third in the set some people watched last. |

samhay: This is not the matter of judging
If u sing,u should b able to recognise wat we r talking about
Some of the contestant shouldn't be in a singing competition, especially not Project Fame.
The platform is too huge for mediocrity.
They were comfortable because they were given home songs.
How many of those songs is technical enough?
This feeling u r showing is what MTN wanted, dat was why the had to give dem African contemporary so early since the beginning was not up to standard. I don't sing but did you watch yesterday elimination show? If you did you'll observe that they were already getting comfortable in their own skin. Fine the Naija songs helps but there's more to it. Every season have aalways have the not so good but who always bought something else or family connection to make the top 5. The Chidinma's set you guys are ahhing and ohhhing over had one guy that was always criticize by Bibi to the day before the final who made the top 3 at the expense of better vocalists. Do you guys remember Tolu and Ochuko set. They all lost out to people that are not up to them. This is the nature of the competition |

Warri no deh carry last............ Kitayyyyyyyyy! Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful performance. This is it.
Fine, Yusuf don't have that vocal but my goodness he sure have the stage presence and that star aura. He just know how to tease and play on the stage.
They have all come out of their shells.
I promised myself that I'll never judge any contestants in the first 2 weeks of this show again.
This week performances bought out their rich vocals and their comfortability on stage .
The competition just began. |

So winner was bought back......... Na wa. I'm still waiting for the Judges to impress with their timing and why's praize not waiting for the other judges to make make their comments before announcing their decision ...... In Ty's voice, guy calm down .
I love the girl's group songs. Beautiful harmony and good delivery in comparison to the guys.
Overall I enjoyed all the performances except for Mirabel. They are now coming out of their shell |

UjSizzle: Saw the Winner look from Uncle Ben
Loved Eli and Kitay's performance. Kitayy....... He also did well but with him I'm beginning to feel like his song delivery is becoming predictable. The way he sang today reminds me of his opening performance and last week performance. |

;DDid anyone see uncle Ben's face when Winner was singing? It was like what rubbish is she singing. Project fame should please bring Kaffy back...... These current dancers are foolishly distracting me from watching a wonderful show. Constume and dance routine is nothing to right home on. Okemute is a born star....... her dazzling smile is blinding. Eli's voice gave me goosebumps. The guy is good, No he's pleasantly unique. Mirabel and Yusuf are the weakest link at this stage. |

Solitin40: Dapo? The you listen to his sweet voice very well? I don't think so. Yusulf is good very but the Song is not his type The voice is sweet but is so babyish. I just felt the voice is still growing. Dapo should have gone home last week so that he'll have have an opportunity to come back next season. |

This competition is not meant for Yusuf and Dapo.

I just have this feeling this season will be great .
I also have to agree with the person who said the ladies won't have it easy but to be fair to them I also didn't see Arewa and Ada coming during the last season audition and they came..... Oh they came and blew me off the water.
OP thanks for this beautiful thread. |

safarigirl: this is The Voice Season 1, if after 8 seasons, they produce nothing, you can talk.
But a show with only 3 popular people in 8 seasons, 2 of who are from Season 1, cannot be referred to as World Class.
At least 3 of the contestants on The Voice are good enough for any world class recording company. Any one. And hopefully, they won't end up like Iyanya that allowed the mediocre taste of Nigerians to affect good music.
The winner of this show gets a contract with Sony Music immediately, it took Davido 5 years in the industry to achieve that. I don't think you understand what we mean by "levels".. . Even the prizes on both shows are an entire world apart. People just want the car and cash prize from PFame these days, nobody really cares about the music Does having contract with Sony music equate international success? You sha want to forcefully make it seems international. Let's see whether they can sustain it for 3 good years. Chike's fans in the building! I hail una. Na waka pass I do, so my apologies to all fans of the voice. |
TV/Movies › Re: The Voice Nigeria Season 1 (official Thread) by luvmijeje(f): 9:24am On Jul 23, 2016 |
safarigirl: when last did PFame have a successful artiste? Nobody since Chidinma. And even the Chidinma is hit and miss these days. Their Season 1 winner and runner up are the most successful alumni in 8 seasons and you think that's class.
PFame is on local stations, if you don't have DSTV with at least 6k subscription, you can't watch The Voice, that will explain it's lack of popularity on NL. Visit YouTube and see the difference in views on the pages of both shows. Chike is pulling 200k+ views on an audition video. The last 3 PFame winners haven't even pulled 200k on a music video without featuring popular artistes. Stats and numbers where it matters boo, not Nairaland. PFame can't pull The Voice's audience, the only interest people have in that show these days are the hilarious audition clips
Levels dey, NPL can never match EPL Lol......... See pride. Shebi we can see the like of Iyanya, praise, Chidinma..... Abeg which 1 the voice done release. Babe when the voice produce 1 successful star, we'll talk better. Shey you know wizkid, davido psquare etc all make it first at home. They launch their international careers by first becoming successful in their home country. . ..... Na we we go still listen to their music. |
TV/Movies › Re: The Voice Nigeria Season 1 (official Thread) by luvmijeje(f): 8:57am On Jul 23, 2016 |
safarigirl: which top 24?
Is Project Fame not on every Sunday? More people watch The Voice than PFame, The Voice was trending in UK on Sunday, has PFame ever achieved that in 8 seasons? If their talent is so great, more people would be watching and commenting.
I got tired of PFame after Chidinma's season, good performers yes, but the singing is average. The last 3 winners of PFame can't even stand in the same room as the likes of Cornel or Mr Sexual Healing himself, Nonso and you're saying PFame people are better. Where?
E be like say you no dey watch The Voice, that show is what we mean by International Standard of competitions. The kind of fame Chike couldn't get on PFame, he's gotten it here.
The likes of Omotola Jalade, Ezinne Akudo, Yemi Alade, Adekunle Gold, Uti, are the sort of audience The Voice pulls.
Chike has simply improved as any right thinking person should. This is not a matter of weaker competition, but an improved artiste. If you want PFame material on The Voice, look no further than Brenda, na that kain madness Nigerians dey enjoy If it's truly trending how come this thread have not left the 3rd page? Last year project fame thread got to 60 pages. Oh! You said UK...... Obviously Nigerians over there love it more. What's international there? Are the Judges not Nigerians? Are majority of the singers not project fame rejects? So you're comparing winners to people that have not won talkless of release one single. Na wa o. Project fame have had the likes of Asha, Tuface , Tiwa, Onyeka..... too numerous to mention grace their show..... So what's the big deal with with what all you mention. I'll keep mute on Chike cos I can see you're passionate about him and I understand how it feels when others are not seeing what you're seeing. |
TV/Movies › Re: The Voice Nigeria Season 1 (official Thread) by luvmijeje(f): 7:27am On Jul 23, 2016 |
safarigirl: are you talking of Project Fame Chike, or The Voice Chike? Cuz those are two totally different people.
I watched his PFame performances couple of days ago and yes, that Chike lacked charisma and confidence and his voice wasn't as good as it is now.
But the Chike on The Voice is a big bowl of confidence and charisma. I can't even count how many times i've watched his Earned It performance.
He's easily the most popular contestant on that show currently, followed closely by Brenda. The difference between them is that Brenda appeals more to the Nigerian audience (because of their love for all things crazy and mediocre) while Chike appeals to a wider range of an international audience.
So, sister, which Chike are we talking about? Apologies to all Chike's fans. Have you ever heard the saying that in the midst of blind men, a one eye man is a king. The people Chike is competing with can't even get to project fame top 16. Don't get me wrong, they are good but not just wow. If you doubt me, I'll advise you to watch this season project fame top 24 on YouTube. |

swann: Lmao...I swear I read "He needs to shed some weight" till I saw the one that the other oga quoted...
Not trying to join anyone's argument but
.@ashewo boy.... if you watch trace channel at the bottom of the the song title you will see names of some of the cowriters or better still watch dmx tv and see the composers most of them are unknown proving that you don't need to be an a-list musician celeb before you can write good music to pitch others... and also anyone with connection can ask a producer to create beats for their songs...don't believe me go ask Beyonce and how she came up with drunk in love(BTW...the beat was already pre-made all she had to do was write lyrics)...
not also agreeing with @safarigirl....cause..haha... Aunty 10 years is a long time to be writing songs and not be recognized in tv....at least tell us one tv show you have been interviewed at even if it is a lame one or one a-list celeb you have written song for...
I just dey talk my own... I Don waka leave stage for una Na project fame thread I deh find weh my leg carry waka pass here. @swann we have alot of great artist who never made it big....... We all know Nigerians listen more to beatz than to lyrics. @ashewoboy na wetin na.......... Why are you taking the whole ish personal na. If they don't want to be criticise then they should join singer like me who sings only in her room. @ thread Chike again....... the guy don't have stage charisma. Well I love his hustle. |

They should improve the law by including stringent conditions such as jail sentence into it.
The major culprit now are those fasting. Why will some group of people be screaming Down our heads around 2am - 4am begging people to wake up. Are we all fasting? Why can't they call their phones or go to their houses to ring their bells?
The day we all start realising that your right stops where mine begins the better for us all. |

Singapore1: lol yeah those guys will let an average programmer looks stupid ( but that will be a stupid programmer by the way ) no, jack bauer way of solving problem is more realistic in respect to time than these guys, for example look at the rocket that other guy built, a stupid programmer or engineer will feel intimidated .. but we all know one man cant build a rocket if you want to enjoy the series ignore the time they use in solving one problem or the other Words! |
TV/Movies › Re: What Series Are You Watching Now? Part 2 by luvmijeje(f): 2:01pm On Jun 05, 2016 |
Singapore1: i can relate to their pain trust me, but i still like the series, the reason why most people hate it is because they make you think programming and engineering is something you can do within the blink of an eye , so most programmers and engineers feel intimidated when watching the series, but this is just a series you know and you cant expect them to include the time they use in building one software or the other ... and the way happy always build a machine when ever they are in trouble within a short time range is annoying too, but all their code and process is damn real and is applicable but not with short time Hmmmmm, very insightful. I don't even know anything about coding so it's easier for me to believe anything they threw at me. My issue is how they make going into into a terrorist stronghold so easy. To the the extent I'm starting to believe jack baur in 24 made things unnecessarily difficult for himself. |
