This is misinformtion. Sir Adesoji Aderemi was NOT from the Giesi ruling family. The Giesi family should have produced the last Ooni but were robbed by Ooni Sijuwade who used his influence to usurp the rightful claimant to the throne. The Giesi family are set to produce the next Ooni smiley smiley smiley
Who are the contenders from Giesi lineage?

It used to go round in turns until Olubuse II.

Derin Ologbenla was Giesi
Olubuse I was Ogboru
Ademiluyi was Lafogido
Adekola was from Osinkola but died before ascending the throne which brought in Aderemi also from Osinkola.

The turn was supposed to go back to Giesi but whatever intrigue that happened saw Ogboru taking Giesi's turn with Olubuse II. And now, Giesi takes this available turn.

This is not to say a house does not get skipped if they are unable to produce a Prince of patrilineal 'blood' or Ifa rejects their nominee.

So, Sir, it is not thrown open to all the houses, it is by the turns.

Going further back before Derin Ologbenla:

Ojigidiri Osinkola
Akinmoyero Lafogido
Gbanlare Ogboru
Gbegbaaje Giesi
Wunmonije Lafogido
Abewela Lafogido
Orayigba Giesi
Thanks for making this clear sir

The best candidate is the person who can uplift the traditions of the Yoruba and Ife in particular, who will promote tourism in the city and ensure peace and progress

We don't need rich businessman that is only interested in using the position of Ooni to grow his business.

We don't need a person that will turn Ile-Oodua into a church or mosque

grin Dull baby, you're too dumb!

Aisha's age has been explained countless times. You criticise the marriage of Prophet Muhammad to Aisha when in fact Mary was 12years when she married 90year Joseph. She had sex with him after Jesus was born at the age of 14,when Joseph was 92years. Please refute that fact before throwing tantrums. You complain about Satan eating but you're happy that heavenly angels had sex with daughters of men. What I hate most is double standards! angry

LIKE SERIOUSLY!!! A TRADITION WHERE "The final burial rites of the late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, Olubuse II, was performed on Friday, but his wives, children and family members were unable to pay their last respects as they were barred from the programme" NEEDS TO BE CRITICIZED AND HAS SOME THINGS TO HIDE.
You are an iidiot. If the traditions don't suit his wives. .they shouldn't have married an Ife prince or Ooni. .his family shouldn't have supported his bid for the throne
And if u aren't his family. ..this doesn't concern u. .so get lost

Op pls do not misinform the populace, atleast we read about the Kiriji war and no where was it mentioned that Ekiti Parapo or Ibadan purchased canon guns.It was stated clearly from the book i read, that the war was notable for its use of charms, even Obadoke Latoosa whom you said was a general, was refered to as a notorious babalawo(native doctor). I dont know where you got your story line from, its full of sensationalism.
And history puts it that the war only ended when the Fulanis joined the Oyo empire and it was observed that their intention was to take over the entire Yoruba land, and equaly enslave the populace, this made the war weary yorubas to immediately call for a truce....the book simply puts it that the coming of the Fulanis was the game changer. Pls get your facts right.
Sorry to tell you cause you seem to really like that book. ..but there's just so much nonsense you got from it

ehn! in all this I just want to ask one question. .
what are girlfriends for if boyfriends are for (financial) support?

Joavid:
You paid her tuition once. (Which I assume is cheap) and you give her some change every now and then. Ok.

Is that enough for you to say you laboured for her, you sent her to school?

Did she not give companionship in return all those 4years?
Was she not cooking, cleaning and washing for you?

Men and lies.
She's not leaving you cos you're an OND cert holder (that can still further) with a lucrative business.

She's leaving you cos you're an a$$hoole.

Modified
I woke up to see 30+ mentions from angry men.

Ladies, don't ever let a man brag about labouring for you or your family, even if he ever was.
I encourage women to be independent, but in some very rare extreme and emergency cases of needs. Don't tell him to give you money for your fees or bills. Instead tell him you want it for brazzilian hair or some other ordinary things then use it to pay your fees, so he won't come and brag like this.

What is a boyfriend for, if not for support.
