Human sacrifice is still much prevalent at the death of a king. I am not going into details. I just want you to know that it happens although I believe that the tradition is dying out.
Its very simple. Do you have evidence to this?
Are you part of the palace chiefs that performs the rites or do you execute the sacrifice? You have to go into details because this is a serious allegation against Ife

And i also noticed that you have this wrong notion of claiming that only the yorubas had cinema houses in the 60's, 70's, and 80's. Dude, cinema houses were all over nigeria not just your lagos. And we all know that Nollywood did not start with showing homemade movies or foreign movies as the case may be, in cinema houses which we Igbos were also doing. So please stop with that line of argument, 'cause it makes you look so naive and desperate to prove a non-existent point.
.
If other nigerians were involved in Cinema during the 60s through to the 80s that's good. ..more honor to Nigeria

Although I'll like to know your source to the information and the names of contributors and years active, titles of movies

Actually most cinema actions were in Ibadan...I had Ibadan in mind all along not lagos

Of course i can beat my chest and say that nigeria without the Igbos will be non-existent. Why wouldn't i say that, when nigeria fought desperately for over three years to keep us with them? That act alone shows that the Igbos are indispensable to your existence as nigerians.
Secondly, i can see that you yorubas are so desperate to attach by force to the success of Nollywood which the Igbos invented. That is certainly not a problem because it's normal to want to attach to an already successful venture, especially if you do not know how to build one yourself. But my advice to you guys is that you had better start building your oduawood now, just as the hausas have established their own called kannywood. We Biafrans will be leaving nigeria soonest, and we will definitely be living with all our inventions, including Nollywood which you yorubas have so shamelessly been lusting over.
undecided I hope you know that Ojukwu instigated the war and brought all that on his people with the way he went about things yet when push came to shove for him he ran away to Abidjan

I don't want it to seem as if I am making anti igbo statements but clearly yyou aren't so intelligent, there's a wild lie spreading trying to discredit people. ..now trying to set things straight is desperste attachment to igbos? undecided are you kidding me?

You are dumb indeed. ..I really don't mean this as an insult but an honest opinion of you
So in ur bigoted mind you think A Biafran movie industry will have nothing to do with other west africans? Even in Nigeria, Ghanaians are involved

What nonsense is this?

Lol

I asked you what the difference between Ogun the deity and Metal is and all you could do is insult my person. Bro, I do not want to go down that path with you.

I am asking you to explain yourself. How is God different from the plain nature of God? I presented two local deities/sacred entity and all you could do is to jump at greek Gods. Like wtf?

Ogun is the God of Iron. How is it different from Metal?

How is Ogun that drink blood like the Yoruba believe different from Sword that cuts?

How is Ogun that eat plant sap different from the Cutlass we use to cut plant?

Do I need to source out where you said Ogun the deity is Iron? I wont do that but pls tell us the difference between Ogun the bone moulder and calcium.

How is Iroko the sacred tree different from the ones in sawmill?

I dont yet understand how I am forcing my perception of God on others. We have argued this on different occassions and I will always hold my position that a deity is the samething as the essense it represent.

Sango is eletrical energy, thunder, justice and lightening. Telling me you dont believe in Sango is the same thing as telling me you dont believe in Justice or everyother thing Sango represent.

When next you see a hunter praying that Ogun will not bath with his blood, note that he mean Ogun (metalic objects) will not struck into his body.

When driver says the same thing, he mean his vechile (metalic body) wont cause his sudden death.

In the real sense, Ogun is a metalic object.

So when you tell me that you dont believe Ogun drink, bath and eat blood, I will just look at you like you mad person.

I hold the ground that a deity is the same thing as the essense it holds.
gringrin you just added Ogun to your last post. .it wasn't there when I first read it

Folykaze do you want to keep believing this bold parts or you are interested in expanding ur understanding?

the issue here is how you seem to force Gaia on someone who said he doesn't believe in that concept just because what the concept is trying to explain is something that exist (the earth)

The Omisebo in my street is not serving any importance other than accumulation of waste. People dont drink it, there is no farm close it, the fish there is not serve little kids who do not recognise it is God, and it chase people away and destroy properties when it rain heavily. So why is it worshipped when it is not serving any importance?

I think you understand what I mean when I said worshipped as God. There is a temple for worship, adherents/priest/priestess, there is a special sacrifice, prayers and rituals directed to this body of water which happens to be God. Why?
Then those who venerate it should tell u why they do so. It's madness to venerate something that you cannot identify it's importance
The case here maybe the river has a history of being venerated or the river itself is a shrine housing something you don't know

I believe all these questions are you joking around cus you know what pagan priests do
Christianity Etc › Re: The Weah96 Challenge. by macof(m): 5:12pm On Aug 12, 2015
Folykaze.

"God" doesn't draw from the term "divine" so it doesn't mean divine status. .. rather divine status draws from God

God in philosophy is simply a concept to what isn't ordinarily seen to be communicated with (to understand a phenomena in various measures)

In Rome, Venus is the God of Lust
The romans and Greeks knew well the difference between their concept of Lust (Venus) and the plain act of Lust itself

While many traditions saw lust as evil, they saw it as divine (from God). Know an atheist among the romans might reject the roman concept of Lust (which is Venus) but still believe that lust(libido) itself exist

You see "God" "divine" etc are just misunderstood in this era
Even the awesome Spartacus was said to not believe the Gods existed but he surely believed in War (without believing Ares the concept of war)

And is plaetton the jesus of atheism? Do all atheist strive to be like him?

God existing independently as a concept, entity or Idea is one thing, making it appear in our own image (anthropomorphizion) is another thing. We all know that something was perrsonailized and raised to divinity statues. So the question is what makes that deified object worthy of people's worship?

What makes Olokun, Yemoja, Osun, Yemowo and Oba Gods? Why are they worshipped, prayed to while the body of water in swimming pool or in Geepee tank does not attract such reverence?

Why is rain water wasteful but the little water that flows through my street have dedicated shrine?
You should read my last comment. It answers this
And to add to that: When people acknowledge the importance of a thing, they tend to honour it, respect it, nurture it.
Animists don't do worship, but veneration.
Hence My mother is venerated by me, the river is venerated by many due to its importance in their lives, some venerate their smartphone, cars etc

Some people actually honour rain water.
How Do You Know the water in GP tank isn't venerated By anybody? That shiit saves lives you know grin

You are a brother but I think you need to get certain things straight here.

Atheist don't believe in the divinity of whatever. ..doesn't mean the plain face nature of that thing is non existent

Using Ra/Sun logic doesnt apply to any atheist because he would rather let go of the divinity of the sun which is Ra and retain the Sun in its plain and obvious form

Even atheist disagree with Pantheistic notion of divinity of the universe

Many people don't know that the original meaning of the word "God" from its numerous evolution through different dialects and languages is actually "Concept"

For your mind you have talked sense o but alas you haven't. If you think I m lying about the chiefs sucking blood then you need to ask yourself what the fate of the oro's victims is. When people are caught by your oro's people, are they not killed and their blood spilled for some ritual purposes? Is there not a saying that a woman who sees oro does not live? In the modern era, do you believe that a religion or tradition ought to have such power to arrest and murder people in extra-judicial manner for daring to exercise what our constitution recognises as a fundamental right - the right of freedom?
You see I am a christian and my religion is opposed to murder of innocent people for some senseless ritualistic purpose. My religion advocates freedom, liberty and peaceful mutual coexistence of all men and woman, and it is upon these tenets democracy is founded. We live in the 21st century and if we have embraced all the good that came with civilisation to the extent that even the modern Oni died in a St. Mary's hospital in London, why then should we refused to let go of some senseless and negative part of our culture remembering that culture ought to be dynamic? If you are one the slave of an archaic and barbaric religion of our forefathers, I implore you to join me in my beautiful religion of peace. Come taste and see that the Lord is good.
You are just a moronic liar. . You have proof that anybody's blood is spilled? Lying for Jesus undecided

No! Ur religion isn't opposed to killing innocent people. ..if you know anything about ur bible u will see the killings done against the innocent in the name of ur stuupid doG
