The verse is saying specifically that aisan or arun and Iku shouldnt scare us away because Ifa know who they are and us. So babalawo, Aisan or Iku are one Awo-ifa. This should explain how they are spirits.

In Odu Owonrin Meji, there is a verse that shows you can communicate with stomach ache to leave you. Ofo is used for communicating with Aisan. In the book, Ijinle oun enu ifa, there are lot of Ofo for different diseases. . . . .this is because they are spirits and are alive.
