World history, specifically the rise and fall of civilizations happens to be a hobby. Pick up a history book. Learn something.

Besides...that's why I'm here, to learn. Tell me the points I brought up will not be a problem, or give me some kind of solution. Don't be condescending and then tell me I'm wrong.

Must every separation be seen through the prism of violence and destructions?

Are we animals that we believe we cant simply decide what we want and how we want and reach an amicable resolution without bloodshed?
Precisely! I don't know why people are talking of war as if, everything is fight

And even if some crazy people want to start trouble we(Yoruba) would ignore them.

texanomaly: You're assessment is right on. Separation will surely lead to warring between the two. This, in turn, weakens both. This weakness will snowball on both sides, leading to economic and infrastructural damage that is detrimental. Many parts of Nigeria can not afford such devastation. Is it wise to step backward instead of moving forward? Not to mention, Nigeria has become a blended society. Are you willing to take up arms again your friends and family, for something that in the end weakens your standing in Africa. Also, what happens to those blended families? Do they separate to go to their respective country, or do they stay together and endure the discrimination that will ensue, no matter which side they choose. Is separation a benefit, if it is looked at with an eye to the future? Where will these two new countries stand in Africa in general. Is separation worth your standing as a 'Super Power' in Africa. Two separate countries would be left weak and vulnerable. Is this wise?

I can site more reasons why this move would be detrimental, but I'd like to hear some reasons why separation would benefit both sides first.
Hey Texas beauty

When Nigeria divides it won't be into 2 but 3....and that's even managing because we were about different 10 ethno nations before the English.

We were all living fine before 'Nigeria' and we would even do better after 'Nigeria'

It would be a sacrifice for a better future, a better future of ethnic pride and national development away from discrimination and bigotry.
Brotherhood and love, our culture and language conserved and developed better.

Horus: Thousands of Africans who have lived all their lives in Saudi Arabia are being repatriated daily right now, after loosing an arm or leg for some minor or trumped up offense and without regard for their comfort, welfare or rights. Racism towards Africans Moslems in Saudi Arabia is so strong it makes one wonder if making pilgrimage to Mecca should be one of the five pillars of the Muslim faith, and why Africans bother to be Muslim.
Arabs do not consider Black Moslems authentic or of consequence. At best, they concede to blacks, the role of ordained slaves or animals, to be used as beasts of burden by the “superior Arab race.” The rule applies to all blacks, whether Moslems or non-Moslems and whether of Nigerian (Hausa/Fulani or Yoruba extractions),Tanzanians, Ugandans, Malians or African-Americans.
True! I noticed this in Israel too, these people are high on racist weed even their religion tells it with them proclaiming 'Gods chosen people' like God is or has ever been for only Israel.

It's a pity our African brothers wish to spit and pop on their ancestors while slaving themselves to these people in the name of religion

Fulaman198: Lol, I am not one who likes to revenge, but when Arabs or Whites come to Africa, they are treated extremely well. Why are black people treated like crap everywhere in the world?
Because most Africans take all they dish out. Such people don't value themselves and mostly wish to reject and throw away their identity and ancestral ties for Arab and Caucasian things

Merry Yuletide all

Remember the season is all because of the Sun God

Nairaland General › 25th December: The True Reason For The Day by macof(op):
For some time now we have been made to believe that the man-god Jesus was born on this day, But that is of course a lie which Christians have been parading for centuries.

Jesus real name Yeshua/Yahshua was not born December or any time in winter.
Christmas is as much a fraud as the whole concept of the religion

Now let's examine the origins and true identity of this day....
In ancient Europe the people celebrated the winter solstice as it symbolizes the rebirth of the Sun God, Sun Gods were called according to different traditions and languages- Horus, Mithra, Apollo, Sol.
upon the fact that it was the day of the Sun God, The head Gods Zeus and Odin were honored as well.

In Rome the Winter festival of the Sun was a glorious event as in other parts of Europe. The Traditions of the day were much like today; the tree, lights, merriment, dinning and utmost sharing.
It was also a day of No punishment, Roman government was always on a rest on this day.

The Sun is very important as a big blessing it is from the Gods
1. It supports life on earth
2. It controls our whether and climate
3. It brightens up the surface of earth with light
4 It regulates and keeps the day from the night
5. It is of large sized star and oldest member of this galaxy
6. the ultimate sustainer of our world

The Sun God is truly worthy of praise and honor. That is why the Euro pagans celebrated so much during this period for they recognized his importance in their lifes especially during the winter solstice of December

Oh! Lord of the Sun, that stands on nothing but keeps steadily providing for the planets especially Earth which humans and known living inhabit.
The living Sun which shines to fill every land with beauty, beautiful and beaming as you manifest from far above the sky, when you set the eastern horizon away from your light for few hours they all want to sleep to pass time and have you back quickly same goes for the western horizon.
When you rest at night we rest at default just as you wish. Oh! Lord of light, the truth, the way and life. What are we without you? We cannot even begin to imagine, what are you without us, still the same regardless- how men are being blessed as living rulers of earth with all the blessings you shower from above. Your spouse and sibling(the Moon God) also pays respect as even tonight the God of the Moon celebrates you, the stars in faraway galaxies are so bright and have come out in numbers just for you. How Great is our God? The magnificent and high Lord of our galaxy.
As we honor you we also honor your father the supreme God over you- A Great shout of praise to The supreme creator God who has made it necessary to have you render your services to the earth.

Nairaland General › Re: Mynd44 How Dare You? by macof(m):
comprehensive write up directed to Mynd

Good day Mod @Mynd_44, and a very merry yuletide to you as the Sun God keeps supporting life on earth for both plants and animals- All glory to the high star of our galaxy resting upon nothing but steadily present as it shines upon the face of the earth and other planets.

To spread love and happiness is the Motto of 25th December as the Sun God brightens up each day showing love and kindling happiness upon the earth, All who are given this privilege are to simply live like the Sun at least for a day throughout the year. Merriment and Dinning are to be planned for, shared amongst neighbors and gifts are to be delivered to our loved ones and all in need- this is the sacrifice we are to offer for the Great God above the sky
I have offered my sacrifice as should be by delivering gifts and food to my neighbors and friends around.
I hope you have done the same, if not you should right away.

However it seems you do not share this high spirt of the Sun I could be wrong and I hope I am

There's also an issue I would like too discuss with you as it addresses your Mod position on this forum, so I don't know if you have a thing against some particular monikers which I could be included, as I have noticed inconsistency and injustice towards many issues during your 5days tenure. I hope I am mistaken but it's only logical for me to assume so especially since I have had a personal experience. On a fine day like this you broke the chain of Christmas by banning me, however the ban isn't my problem but two things are:
1. I find the length of the ban to long and unnecessary- I feel it should be reduced at least for the period of this occasion and happy state the world should be in, banning/banishment from religious discussions is like a total restriction from Nairaland- a general ban is in No way worse

2. The post which prompted my near-aggressive but also honest and noble reply is below

Oluwatola5: Well on the contrary, i am glad he noticed that i wouldnt identify with such practices, so if he feels he is a pride to his ''ancestors'' let him go on. I dont believe in such nonsense. The only one who died that i have explicit respect for is sweet JESUS and He even shamed death by raising up on the 3rd day, all other ancestors are dead, long-decayed and rotten carcases for the birds in the air, or the beast of the earth or perhaps have been ground to sand....smiley
In my spiritual and religious view An insult to my ancestors or any ancestor is a BIG SIN, back in the 19th century this called for strict punishment which could range from banishment to confiscation of properties which were inherited, some cases a curse is placed on that individual

It is highly offensive to address The Yoruba ancestors with the bold above.
Out ancestors do not die...rara o...instead they transit from one realm to the other. The Great ancestors of my spirituality which I have known through oral history never died, they preferred to ascend to the sky to the next realm or simply enter the ground

In conclusion, my reply post wasn't to insult but to correct, a pure statement of fact backed by the Gods themselves

And a pagan never goes against The Gods, his tradition or culture.
I understand Nairaland and wat it is but you as a Mod should understand Macof and who he is. My ancestors can not be insulted without a reciprocated effort to correct No matter how aggressive. A Yoruba saying "omo-ale nikan l'on fi owo osi ju nkan ti babanla e ti da" in English "only a bastrd uses his left hand to throw away wat his ancestors have set up". I simply reflected on this to be used as a corrective measure as it was initially intended by The Yoruba tradition.

Truth is the above quoted post was made by a Yoruba by ancestry- A Yoruba child would know that insulting an ancestor is To bring a curse upon oneself and to let an insult go unpunished is to bring another curse.
I don't wish to have a curse upon my innocence or rather naivete, compulsion or fear of Ban shouldn't be an obstacle to issuing a rightful reply to such disgusting post. Now you might talk about "report to Mod" feature but Me just/only Reporting is weakness in my religion weak men aren't blessed by the Gods. More so, I have noticed your attitude towards issues against pagans, satanist and atheist- you seem to tolerate much attacks against them probably due to your limited knowledge about the religious views of our Nairaland members.

I urge and beseech you to shorten the ban and issue a ban to the poster of the quote above

In No way am I at fault and I see No need for giving me such ban while ignoring the insult to my ancestors.

Thank you and have a Merry day smiley
