Very important statement there.

I for one can't marry a woman who isn't ready to recognize Orunmila has a personal Lord

0monnakoda: There was never a Yoruba land before Nigeria so clearly this piece is not well informed. It is not an automatic thing that if Nigeria were to break up there would be a Yoruba Nation. When the British started conducting census in "Yorubaland" No one identified themselves as Yoruba. People were Oyo,Ekiti,Ijebu etc and so if Nigeria were to break up everyone will determine what they want to do. Even in the so called Caliphate it is an error to believe that the Sultan of Sokoto ruled over Hausa land .This is wrong .'
The Fulani situation is not different from Monarchies in Europe. The English Monarchy are not English but have French,German and other origins.

A lot of Yoruba may not believe this but I genuinely believe that the Oyo or at least their kings are more likely of Nupe/borgu Origin than Odua especially when you consider the original location of Oyo Ile which probably was in Kwara/Niger State territory
Pls don't assume.

The Alaafin of Oyo is a direct descendant of Oranmiyan(The Great Ife prince)

The Nupe originally acquired most of todays Kwara state, It was Oranmiyan that pushed them northward.

Katsumoto: How German is the queen of England? Trust me, you can't rule in isolation. Sooner or later, you assimilate completely the culture and practices of people you live with. The emir's first language is Yoruba, interacts daily with Yoruba people. What Fulani influence is in Ilorin today?

Any solution to the solution must be decided by the Kwara people. Do you want traitors at the gateway to your land? If you force kwara people to join you when they prefer to be with the Hausa-Fulani, aren't you giving yourself an Achilles heel?
Thank you.

Only Ilorin can decide if they want Emir or not.

Most of this is due to the high level of Islam, kwarans are very blind muslims and "emir" is a Muslim/arab thing not fulani, many ilorin Muslims don't have a problem wit that

You don't expect the rest Yoruba to fight a war ilorin is nt interested in fighting.

Benin has a Yoruba king, nobody calls Edo a slave nation.

So because "Ilorin"(a dry town, that Yoruba don't appreciate as much as Ede) has a fulani emir, Ibos are now claiming what the fulani don't claim for themselves.

Ibos you are just big fools

cashkid18: owk.noted!!bt wen will d oduduwas librate kwarans frm their fulani masterx huh huh
The emir of ilorin might be a descendant of Alimi but his ancestry as been mixed with more Yoruba.

He is living in yorubaland, he speaks Yoruba better than any language

He as Yoruba names

All ilorin, both original Yoruba and the descendants of the slave fulanis are more Yoruba than any other than.

Benin is ruled by a descendant of Oranmiyan, why is nobody claiming the Benin are slaves to Yoruba?

Ilaje is ruled by Yoruba, still some people try to distinguish them and call them Ijaw.

Why is no fulani even arguing this case?
Why ibos who have no business?

Instead of u to face ur eggnog group you poke nose into Yoruba affairs all the time

you don't know anything about kwara.

I am nt here to fight with ibos, but this thread has nothing to do with you guys
Anywhere u see "Yoruba" you always feel interested but the annoying thing is that instead of you to act maturely and comment what you know you make a fool of yourself by commenting rubbish in a bid to tribalise against Yoruba.

Kwara state is a big state- part of Nupe(called tapa by Yoruba) and Yorubaland is present in kwara state.

Ilorin is the only place that has a non-Yoruba ruler, offa and so many other Yoruba Towns in kwara have Yoruba rulers.

so many igbomina Towns under Ila Orangun are in Kwara state, they have nothing to do with ilorin.

So if you are too dumb to tell the difference between "ilorin-a town" and "kwara-a state" you should just prevent yourself from showing your illiteracy.

It's fact Yoruba kept fulani slaves, Ilorin was their camp, their duty was to tend to the Calvary and serve the Oyo warriors.

Afonja had quarrels with Alaafin Aole who asked him to attack his mother's town, Afonja refused and then the Alaafin asked him to attack Apomu(a community in Ile-Ife) this was to be an abomination for anybody to attack Ile-Ife. Afonja got angry and wanted nothing to do with the Alaafin who seemed to know nothing about Traditions, he wished to gain independence for Ilorin and rule as the Oba of Ilorin. He got help from his friend Alimi the commander of Sokoto army but he was murdered and Alimi wanted to conquer some part of Yorubaland which Ibadan didn't allow.

Ibadan were the victors of that war

The Origin inhabitants of Ilorin are Yorubas, the fulani there are descendants of slaves owned by the Yoruba

You need to go back to your history books. Ilorin is a yoruba land and Afonja the founder of ilorin was the 1st Aare Ona Kakanfo of yoruba land. MKO Abiola was the last Aare Ona ka kan fo. Its not just like any other title its reserved for only distinguish and very powerful yoruba indegines (warriors).

Afonja isn't the 1st Aare Ona-Kankanfo

Kokoro of Iwoye was the first

And Afonja's grandfather was the founder of Ilorin
Ile-Erin meaning home of Elephants was a hunting ground for Afonja's grandfather who was originally from Oyo. He was very rich on Elephant hide and tusks and established Ilorin
Politics › Re: Proposed National Conference: A Case For Kwara State by macof(m): 7:15pm On Oct 19, 2013
Ilorin and other major parts of kwara has always been part of yorubaland

However Afonja who was over ambitious rebelled against the High king(Alaafin Oyo).

At the time the Yoruba dealt with slaves and we owned a lot of fulani slaves, and their camp was in ilorin.

Afonja an Illorin born Yoruba wished to get independence from Oyo, he trusted his Fulani friend(Alimi), and using the army under Uthman danfodio He pushed Oyo southwards and released Ilorin from all Oyo influence.

Alimi betrayed Afonja, and murdered him.

Alimi now ruler of Ilorin and commander of the Sokoto army waged war against Oyo, Oyo suffered so much until Ibadan came to help.

Ibadan and Oyo army were able to push back the fulanis but unable to reclaim Ilorin's rulership

That's the history

Christianity Etc › Re: Can You Marry A Non-believer by macof(m):
ayoku777: Leme rephrase your question for you. What you meant is 'Can you marry an anti-christ?'. Anyone who doesn't believe that Jesus is the Christ is an antichrist 1John 2v22. And anyone who doesnt have the spirit of God has a spirit that is NOT OF GOD

Building a home with an antichrist is WRONG on EVERY level, no matter the other 'nice' qualities he or she has. Coz Jesus can never be the bedrock of such a home. Unless making Jesus foundation of your home is not a personal priority for you
Every living thing has the spirit of God, Christian or not. the gods would still continue to maintain the universe and protect everyone, they won't stop because of Christians or non-Christians

Anti-Christ doesn't mean evil, It simply is going against the Christian brainwash and preaching against Christ like I do.

So like in my house Orunmila is the bedrock and if any body doesn't like that they shouldn't come in

I can't marry a woman who doesn't recognize Orunmila, nobody would ask her to worship him but she must live by his teachings. So if she can embrace Orunmila everything is fine by me.
One more interesting fact:

Mithra is originally a Indo-Iranian God.

Todays Zoroastrians consider Mithra as a Spirit Angel.

They worship Mithra aside, but not in the original way as was done in the days of the Persian and ROman Empires. THere are no Mithraic cults today (which were solely limited to soldiers/warriors), the Bull ritual doesnt exist, etc.

Zoroastrianism is again, not Pure Paganism as the original Persian Religion was twisted and tarnished by the prophet Zoroaster (Human interference).

Mithra is also a God in HInduism. Not extensively worshipped, however Mithra is recognized.
Mithra has really influenced a lot of religious practices in Europe and Asia

Evil Brain: The oldest and most credible books in the new testament are Paul's epistles which were written between 10 and 30 years after the supposed date of the crucifixion. Yet if you study Paul's letters carefully, you'll see that Paul apparently had no clue that Jesus was a real person who had lived and died recently. He never mentioned any details of Jesus's life or ministry, he never quoted him, never mentionedand he always spoke of Jesus as a kind of abstract idea, not like a person who was walking around and wowing crowds when Paul was a teenager.

If Paul didnt know that Jesus was a real person and nobody else ever mentioned him anywhere until a century after, I think its safe to assume that he never really existed. And given that the life and ministry of Jesus is so similar to those of Mithra, Perseus, Dionysius, Krishna and Horus we all know where the christians got the story from.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88GTUXvp-50
I always wondered how and why Paul who never knew Jesus couldn't have been the most active missionary.

it wasn't until recently I got answers to the questions that I had about Paul
