What a bunch of cry baby looser! One thing these men have in common is that they are underachievers seeking to live off a woman! They have been in US for decades but did not attempt to advance themselves beyond blue collar and hourly low paying jobs. Then they get a village girl from Nigeria whom they know is naive and try to turn her to a cash cow so they can continue being underachievers Man or Woman, there is no one on earth that would be comfortable working all the crazy hours just to hand over the fruits of their labour to someone else!! That is called pimping!! Then when their smart wife from Nigeria advances herself and stabilizes, they begin to envy her because she is not letting him control her finances. You have been in US for decades but did not advance yourself beyond blue collar status, then shame on you!! You have been in US for decades but still counting on your wife's income, shame on you!! If you marry a woman or man from Nigeria and support him or her to succeed, that does not mean he or she owes you her salary for the rest of her life.... That does not mean s/he looses her own individuality!!! My friend is going through same thing!! A woman married him in Nigeria and took him to US. The woman has become so controlling that every time we speak, he is complaining bitterly!! Now imagine how those men treat their wives before they started resisting ![]() 23 Likes 6 Shares |

Yes, this is what i like to see. Honestly, i have been pleasantly surprised with some of the moves this administration has been making. It seems like they are reaching out to bridge the gap! |

God bless Nigeria Buhari is far from an ideal leader but I must commend his efforts towards plugging leakages that exist in our public system! |

litaninja: That is a question none of us but the parties directly involved will be able to answer. From what i heard, the girl is 18. We all know teenagers have the raging hormone and can be pig headed!! Regardless, this approach will further damage this child than nurture them. |

May cowards starve to death! If Nigerians cannot unite to fight for this country to get to its rightful place, then things will never change. We do not deserve this level of wickedness and selfishness. Something has just got to change!! This is just fucccking sad!! The whole of Niger Delta is disgusting and dirty!! Despite the incredibly huge allocations they recieve!! |

helinues: Yams?? Bro, yams are not for cowards! Most Nigerians are cowards and will rather starve to death than fight for what is truly theirs. A just and fair government is the right of every Nigerian. Cowards must starve!! Lol!! |

Originakalokalo: So you’re gonna act like we do not have major and pervasive societal ills? 419, pervasive rape and abuse, corruption, ritual, e.t.c. Can you honestly say that we have better values and morals than the western society? 2 Likes |

phemmyfour: I beg to differ. Most Nigerians are not doing fine. The oppression that started at home has seeped into the society like an oil spill. E.g. SARs, Kidnappers, Corrupt leaders! Every Nigerian Alive has at some point in their existence ended up a victim of one, two or all of the aforementioned. Do you think it is a coincidence that a lot of Nigerians when granted even the smallest position of Authority or power end up being incredible Bullies!! If you are a job seeker, gateman go use you yeye If you are a student, teacher go use you yeye..... and so on and so forth!! While i am not against discipline, i am saying that there are so many ways to severely discipline a child without ever whipping them like a slave! The circle of abuse must end! 3 Likes 1 Share |

With due respect to everyone's opinions; i think whipping a child is tantamount to child abuse and a centimetre shy of slavery. The average Nigerian child experience their first abuse in the hands of those that should protect them. I might get insulted for this but ever wondered why the average Nigerian is so aggressive? If you disagree with them, they retort to insults? Even wondered why the average Nigerian is very afraid of telling the truth? It all boils down to upbringing like the one we saw in the video posted earlier. Children are individuals with minds of their own and the best way to raise a child is to win that mind over with any means but intimidation and force. We have to break the cycle of Abuse!! We must evolve to a better and greater society! When you flog a child, you are not teaching them to not repeat same mistake, you are teaching them to make sure they don't get caught! I challenge every Nairalander to take a different discipline approach this week! If your child mess up, call him or sit, sit them down and explain to them why what they did is wrong and why they must never do it again!! Give them one week punishment of dish washing and take away their phone or game or whatever they really enjoy with the promise to return when they behave better!! 77 Likes 10 Shares |

luminouz: Thanks for being respectful! Often times, when i engage peope here, they resort to insult and personal attacks. So, probs to you! While i am not against using the rod in cases of extreme misconduct, i still maintain that the punished meted in that video does not fit the misdeed. Her only "crime" was not heeding to the words of her parents. That can easily be corrected by withdrawing privileges. Take away the phone, take away the laptop and see if it will not have a humbling effect. |

stagger: No bro... please read my previous comment. If I can convince one person that we need to break this curse of abuse, then I’m a fulfilled man. This mode of discipline is nothing short of slavery. 4 Likes |

luminouz: What do you mean bro? We have terrorism, kidnapping, pervasive rape culture, corruption and so much more!! Clearly, our style of upbringing is not working!!!! Come on!! We have to try something different. Average Nigerian kid only complies with their parents cos they don’t want to get whipped. That is slavery!!! Then when they leave the parents home, they turn into the very deceptive monsters the parents turned them to. They go to church, cry to God and smile at every one then go back home and rape a child, then kidnap someone, then loot billions, then bomb people.... then ... 8 Likes 1 Share |

The child will agree with the dad cos she has no choice..... logic and reasoning and confidence dies the moment you resort to instilling this type of discipline! There are several ways he could have approached it 1- stand firm: explain to her why she should not join the group and get her a phone without internet to ensure it never happens 2- persuade: convince her to not join the group and trust her by pretending to look away. Reward her if she complies, try again if she doesn’t! 3- compromise: allow her to join the group but have unfettered access to her account and be able to see any and every message she gets. 11 Likes |

Primus123: Nope!! They are not government lawyer! The only lawyers that work for the government are the prosecutors!! Court appointed lawyers are those apply to help offer legal representation to people without the financial means to do so. The court then pays them a stipend for their efforts. I think it is 500$ per case the last time i checked. I spent the last 2 months fighting a DUI case in Texas. Spent a lot of money in order to get the case dropped. Through my travails, i got schooled in the American legal system. This place is unforgiving and as soon as this lock down is lifted; i will be on the first flight back home. Nigerian embassy in U.S. has entirely abandoned people that were unfortunate enough to be outside Nigeria before the crises. i have been in the U.S. for over 5 months even though i went for a 1 month business trip in March and was supposed to return end of April. sighs* 4 Likes 2 Shares |

I don't know why Hush is making this move but i will only assume it is due to financial considerations. The importance of hiring a seasoned and high profile lawyer is not because they can argue lost cases. Its simply because these lawyers often know well placed people within the judiciary system that and can often leverage their relationship to get their clients (the accused) a better deal. They often charge hefty fees from $500 to $1,500++ per hour. A court appointed lawyer is simply a "charge and bail" lawyer provided to the those without the means to pay for a private lawyer. A court appointed lawyer may be vested in your case but they often have incredibly high case loads and cannot give everyone the attention they need to overcome their legal travails. They always recommend you plead guilty or "no-contest" and leave you at the mercy of the court system. As a non-American and also black, the chances of Hush beating this case is extremely bleak and the fact he is settling for a court appointed lawyer makes me feel his assets have been frozen or he does not have any means to bring funds to the U.S. I do not condone Fraud as this makes it harder to do business with the rest of the world but Hushpuppi is a Nigerian. We condemn the crime but we must never support outsiders choosing to prosecute our citizens for crimes they committed. If the crime was committed on US soil, it is a different ball game. But it was committed outside US soil with victims from all over the world. We must all call for Judicial reforms in Nigeria whereby, the common man can expect a speedy and honest justice in every circumstance. Lets not forget John Mitchener, a White American that is currently in Nigeria and has defrauded Nigerian companies to the tune of Billions of Naira. His activities contributed to some major Nigerian companies going bankrupt. Our law enforcement agencies granted him bail while quietly allowing him to work with the US embassy to scurry out of Nigeria. Must we keep bowing to the White man ![]() ![]() 15 Likes 2 Shares |

There is nothing to see here!! The American that defrauded Nigerians to the tune of billions of dollars was granted bail in Nigeria and probably working his way back to the US where he will not be prosecuted. Our boys are held without bail and given incredibly long sentences. 3 Likes |

Laslaslala: I take an exception to the bolded because that was irrelevant and tbh, pointless. You can have a meaningful conversation and also disagree without being vituperative. The major flaw in your business model is that you assumed she’s the only one scouting for talents all over Africa and beyond. Even if she manages to find any grade A talent, they’ll be snatched up by a bigger team before they even sign a contract. If you’re basing the success of the z league club and it’s ability to snag talent, then that club will fail. The wiser option would have been 1-to invest in Nigerian premier league, scout for the best talents in Nigeria and package them for the highest bidders all over the world. 2- invest in a top tier club and own some stake where she gets paid off the profits. I’ve been in business for so long and I know that while this may be a legit venture, there is absolutely no reasonableness behind buying a z league club. At least not from a financial gains perspective. |

Shame on our police for granting him bail! Even hush puppi that is being crucified no even do reach this guy! Next thing, America will come to rescue her citizen. We should trade for Hushpuppi! Otherwise, he is to be tried and imprisoned in Nigeria and sentenced to the same amount of time Hush would get.... we see oyibo man, the next thing we begin now and act like they are gods! It will end in tears for the NDDC guy. He may have the guns and backing of militants but reps have the backing of the Judicial system. While things rarely ever work in Nigeria, I’ve seen that when our leaders really mean to do something, it gets done so well. NDDC was supposed to help Niger deltans. Unfortunately, even indigenes the oil rich states in Niger delta are mostly living below poverty line. They loot it all, they drive bentleys and rolls Royce, they call themselves “oil big boys” but the next man in their community Dey waste. That one no be life I swear!! |

ednut1: Hell yes!! If God blesses my business and it grows to the level I envision where people will seek internship, I wouldn’t care if you’re 40 or 100. As long as you can do the job as delegated and willing to learn. You must also be comfortable working with people from every tribe and religion and be respectful of everyone regardless of their status in the firm. God will see me there cos I know I’ve paid my dues for the longest. 5 Likes |
