Crime / Re: 60-Year-Old Woman Buys & Sells Baby For N1 Million In USA by MagnaB: 11:23pm On Apr 25, 2016
olillywales:

A 60-year-old grandmother, Asabi Adebayo, has told the Oyo State Police Command that she had a thriving baby trafficking ring where she allegedly bought five babies for the whopping sum of N5 million, at N1 million per baby, with the sole purpose of taking the babies to the United State of America, for sale.
Let's use some logic here. That woman according to the picture shown above doesn't look like the type that travels to the U.S for business because in my own thinking I would like to assume she wants to use them for some money rituals sh*t (average naija mentality). Let's now assume she can afford foreign trips to U.S and she probably wants to give the kids off to rich lonley couples over there can we not say she is doing the future of those kids a great help by saving them for their clueless parents who in the first instance I guess gave them off and as well saving the kids from a confused country (sorry to say). Well its a two way thing (two sides of a coin). I drop my pen

Adebayo who added that she had lived a large part of her life in the USA, said she bought the babies from a child trafficker based in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The suspect, after buying the babies, brought them to an orphanage in Ibadan, and was in the process of obtaining a certified police report for them in preparation for moving them abroad before she was nabbed.

Parading Adebayo at the state police headquarters at Eleyele, Ibadan, the Commissioner of Police, Leye Oyebade, said the woman would have escaped if not for the patriotic effort of the officials of the orphanage who reported the matter at the Iyaganku Police Station.

Pls dont return this statue to this country now. We are not stable and so nt ready to receive this kind of artifact when we are still faced by our own challenges. Moreover we will only treat this priceless piece of art in Nigeria as valueless because we don't give any regards for art unlike our white counterparts who value it so much. Pls give us when every part of the nation is stable and responsible.

See the hose they are using to quech that amount of large fire, the truth is that we are not safety conscious in this part of the world. A better approach could have bin to use a chopper (helicopter) to sprinkle foam on the fire from a high altitude but no, our choppers in Nigeria are only meant to convey the rich and their families. The moment we can overcome our selfishness is the moment d black race will begin to progress positively.

I seriously dnt buy this of NUCLEAR energy, this is seriously insane. Nigeria is a country that cannot maintain ordinary projects successfully how will they maintain this. Nuclear energy is dangerous but if used appropriately can be wonderful. I seriously hope the government looks into other sources of power generation other than this one. I am an electrical engineer and I would nt recommend this intended step.

I think what the owners of WhatsApp are trying to do is to cut off every device that uses backdoor to access the app. I guess they now want us to strictly pay for the app as it wud be impossible to use a back door and wud be monitored. Funny thing is if this method proves successful other technocrats wud start applying it.

Innoson need to sack the guys in charge of marketing department, this brand need more advertising and publicity, examples like sponsorship of sports, entertainment and educational events, placing adverts on youtube, google adword, lindaikeji, NTA, BBC, CNN, not forgetting nairaland. I think he is just looking towards the political class for patronage only.
It's a Step by step process. I think what he is trying to do is to correct our mentality about Nigerian made products from the top and makes sure his product is respected and accepted in the Nigerian auto market before he embarks on the advertisement which I think is a lot of money and if nt channelled well will be a waste

NYSC / Help!!! I Am Unable To Print My Call-up Letter After The Required Payment by MagnaB: 3:58pm On Feb 10, 2016
Hello Nairalanders, i am currently having a little bit of an issue over here. I completed my registration yesterday afternoon and made the required payment (3045 naira) and after the money was deducted from my account i found out i was still unable to print the letter for which i paid for. Please note that i have taken some steps to see if this situation can be rectified like sending mails to the NYSC official mail dropped on their site and i also called one of their representatives (the phone dropped on the site as well) and i was told it is a network issue they are currently having and that my situation would be rectified which i haven't seen a change since i made this call and sent mails and my fear now is that everyone is already seeing their call-up no and the rest and some already know where they are posted to which i have no clue about mine. Please lecture me on what else i can do and if u are in this situation i am currently you can as well signify. At least make i resemble someone (lol).

NOTE: The phone numbers dropped on the website are no longer going through and even if you are lucky and one falls through no one will pick up which i think is unfair and frustrating.

Mods can help push this on FP so more people can be identified with.

Events / Lessons Learnt From An Exclusive Owambe Party by MagnaB: 8:01am On Oct 26, 2015
It was some minutes past 3pm when my old man came home and headed for my room, he had this bright smile on his face that just wanted to tell a lot to me but me lying down and playing with my tablet I was too engrossed for me to be able to decipher he had an offer for me. He left me jokingly in peace and went to meet his wife, my mother to tell her that he had an event to attend and he was looking for someone to accompany him but I guess she was also engrossed in her Africa Magic movie and was not ready to trade anything for it and so he left us, entered his vehicle and was about to zoom off when my mother told me that chief Ebenezer obey was going to be the musician in charge of the event and that sprouted me to jump from whatever I was doing to quickly run back to my old man that I have accepted his offer. I ran off to my room to wear something for the owambe event and quickly the both of us left home for the event. On getting there I had to struggle to get somewhere I could park the vehicle as the event Centre was crowded with cars, sorry luxury vehicles. i locked the vehicle and we both began heading towards the hall, on getting to the front of the hall we met the first set of bouncers demanding for an invitation before anyone could enter for the event, every guest there with us were shocked as no one expected that. Fortunately for me pop man brought his invitation with him besides, the celebrant is a friend of his and that is how we were able to beat the first set of bouncers. We got closer to the main door to the hall and it deemed on me that I am kind of underdressed for the event but I shook it off me afterall it was impromptu for me. Now we meet the next set of bouncers, but this time a lot scarier than the previous. They again request for the same thing, an invitation and my old man did not hesitate to show them, only for them to tell him I cannot enter for the event, I felt embarrassed but I did not care afterall the event was not for my age bracket but as usual my old man has his ways of doing things and so we entered. The moment I stepped my foot in the hall I knew this is not the type of owambe I have ever attended before so scanned everywhere as my old man exchanged pleasantries with all the known faces he was acquainted with, we found some of his close friends around and we sat next to them but in my mind all I was silently looking for was my icon in whom I respect a lot, chief commander Ebenezer Obey and YES! I found him as he was just seated right at my front. He looked very active for someone of his age and I was just eager to hear him sing as I waited patiently. As I waited for the musician to perform I continued scanning the hall to search for some beautiful faces I could marvel at and I carefully observed everyone at the event. The event was high class I have to confess as exotic, local and assorted food were in excess supply and even champagne drinks of different brand were also in excess supply, all you had to do was just to request for whatever you wanted. Lest I forget, the mummies where also looking so dashing as they came with much effect and the men I have to say were also looking superbly dressed as most men were dressed in their Agbada, all I saw was a coven of the wealthy. As I was lost in my thought I just heard baba’s voice as he began to sing, his voice drew me deep into the music as I concentrated on him as he slowly chanted praises of the celebrant. I have to say that that man (Chief Ebenezer Obey) is like a wine, he gets better by the day. After all the dancing and what have you I began to think deeply as I have always believed that there is always a lesson to learn in every ordeal, and as I was lost in my thought some points dropped in my mind which I would like to share with you reading this.
The first is wealth acquisition is a process; you don’t have to look for it the fast way that can destroy you like the youths of this day wants it. As long as you are diligent in what you do, then wealth is bound to come knocking at your door.
The next point is make yourself active, climb ladders that can take you to the top and don’t relent. Get that Ph.D. you want, go for that course you want to study, meet the right set of people that can contribute to your success in life as this will go a long way to help you in life.
The last point is make friends with people, when you make friends with people it will not be hard for you to invite a thousand people to your event and still get that amount of people present. One thing I have learnt from life is that what goes around comes back around, when you are good to people, be rest assured people will also be good to you too.
Before I forget to tell you, I got high with my old man and his friends and that feeling was awesome as we chatted. And naso I drop this pen for another day. Bye
