U are not suppose to submit ur Original Waec result. The only Original documents you will be submitting are letters addressed to the embassy. i.e Statement of Account, Letter of Sponsorship e.t.c, all other documents should be photocopy except you don't wanna see ur WAEC result again for life cos the embassy does not return any document to the applicant whether Approved or rejected.. And as for the Passport, you will submit ur real passport since you are going through Paper route, unlike Online application that they will be the one to request for it. Peace
Ukaivbemiles:
Good day guys.. am applying through paper route. Am I to summit my original waec result and passporthuh

If you dont have something meaningful to say, its better u keep mute than to be misleading peeps here.. We have seen peeps here writing a 7 page SOP who got their Visas.. It isnt written on the canadian website that SOP should be so number of pages, please be guided. @johnsonsegxy Ur 3 page SOP isnt much at all.. So far you can convince the VO in ur SOP that you are a genuine student that will come back to ur home country then u are good to go.. Peace
vibrant99:
why would you write 3 pages of SOP? wetin happen? are you describing ur Nigeria too?

Oga, one page and half at most.
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by makano: 8:16pm On Jan 13, 2019
Sorry bout this Sis.. When u get ur GCMS note, just upload the concerns of the VO here so we in the house can tackle it together so u can re-apply, you will surely get it the 3rd time. One question please, Did ur Eligibility review start before ur refusal, and if yes, for how long was the Eligibility review?
blessedness:
Good morning to this great house! This will be my first post in this year. My visa has been denied for the second time. I have ordered for my gcms note. I applied August 3rd and the denial letter dropped 11th January, its just a pity sha. I will update my time line later, let me gather enough muscles first. I want to thank you all for your contribution, whether you know it or not, I gained a lot from this forum. Most importantly, I thank the Almighty God for everything, for He alone knows best, I will keep giving Him all the glory that He deserves! To all the trv hopefuls, just keep trusting God, you will surely testify IJN!

Sorry about ur refusal.. Did ur Eligibility review start before ur refusal? and if yes, for how long was the Eligibility review?
Clara2244:
Sorry about your denial, I was also denied on 11th January and applied 9th August. I Think they just closed us out with denial. Anyway is well apply for your GCMS note and reapply.

U got an email cos of the Medical request and not the Eligibility review..
Bracha:
I got an email that my account had been updated. Probably because eligibility review and medical request came simultaneously.
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by makano: 9:45pm On Jan 10, 2019
The bolded isnt necessarily true.. My Eligibility review will be 5 months by next week.. And my background check was just a month.. So you cant just conclude like that cos this things varies..
Naijaforeigner:
I applied via paper route in Lodnon (July) and got a passport request after 5 weeks. Immediately I got my passport request, packed all my load and moved over to Lagos and submitted my passport for the visa stamp in Lagos.

It is the background check that takes time. Once it moves to eligibility review, you will get your response soon.
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by makano: 8:50pm On Jan 10, 2019
As long as possible, no time frame. it can last for a month, weeks, and even months.. Peace
Josh1996:
Please how long does background check takes for online application

smh @ bolded.. You have been silent getting info from this thread and u didnt dim it fit to share your timeline when u got ur Passport request.. too bad i must say.. So we should answer ur question now so you can finally run away from this thread. You are one of those peeps that use and dump this thread.. too bad once again..
kerry101:
Hello House,

Thank you for all the useful tips and comments on this thread. I will like to know how I can go about this. I am one of those silent June applicants and deferred my admission to September this year. Thank God, I was given a passport request but the problem is my passport is expiring Nov 2019 that is one month after stepping into Canada and one of the passport requirements is that they do not issue a visa beyond the expiry date of the passport. What do I do? Thanks.
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by makano: 11:05am On Jan 09, 2019
You wont get an email notification for eligibility review, but ur profile will be change from submitted to updated. Note - I didnt get any email notification when my Eligibility review started, i just logged into ma account and saw UPDATED. So am talking from my experience.
Josh1996:
Please will I get an email notification when eligibility review starts or it will just change in the CIC account?
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by makano: 9:55pm On Jan 07, 2019
Ok. But in case you dont know, its our custom here for every moniker to share his or her profile once he or she gets a decision, whether Approval or Refusal. The reason for this (Approval) is for the prospective applicants to know what and what they need to do from the profile shared for them to have a very good application to submit and for the expectant applicants to still have some hope. In case you dont know, every approval shared on this thread lifts up the spirit of applicants especially the ones still waiting for their decisions and also that actually keeps the house alive. And for the refused applicants, they share their profile to the house so the gurus can put them through on what to do to reapply and get their Visa, and of course so many people here have benefited from that. So please I am not forcing anybody to drop his or her profile, i was just reminding him on what he needs to do. I just need to tell you cos its obvious you dont really know our activities here since you joined 15 weeks after you submitted. Congrats once again on ur TRV. Peace
Bracha:
On this, it isn't mandatory for him/her to write his/her full profile.

I wrote mine because I wanted to. I was way in my 15th week of application submission before I was told this topic/thread exists. Nairaland didn't help me with anything, God did. So saying someone should "drop your full profile" like it's compulsory is wrong. IMO.
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by makano: 9:02pm On Jan 07, 2019
Please do the needful by sharing ur profile to the house(If you have not done so). You have learnt from this house, so it will be at least kind of you to drop ur full profile of ur application. Peace

My school resumed today(Fanshawe College)and I just had PPR, please i want to ask, how late is really late for resuming?
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by makano: 1:17pm On Jan 07, 2019
Your Visa is sure brother, you should be very calm cos they will surely send it. What will you say about peeps that have applied since May/June that havnt even gotten Medical request. So just be patient, ur Visa is on its way. Peace
Hamsal197:
Please anyone with idea on the above?
I'm asking because I found that my application is being processed in Ukraine (kyiv.gc.ca.) online route, and this people are taking forever to send me PPR.
I did medicals on 26th of Nov.
Medical passed on 7th Dec., and i was asked to upload my updated admission letter. I did that on 10th of Dec.
Nothing since then.
I mailed them on 21st of Dec. and they replied "Your submission has been uploaded. You will be contacted shortly".
I don't know their own definition of shortly since 21st or I'm the one that do not understand English again.

alftdbts:
Unfortunately guys my study permit was rejected after 24weeks and 4days. This message dropped yesterday but just saw it now, plus I had totally lost hope before now cus of the long silence. So not feeling bad as I am planning the year for another pasture. Well attached to this is my rejection letter. Any opinion, suggestion or advise would be appreciated is Canada worth trying again or just face somewhere else.

July 14th applicant.

Can I just travel to Singapore and Malta for vacay, find a cheaper school in Canada then reapply against fall.

Ok. But please this thread is strictly for Canada Study permit, so u may likely not get a response to ur questions not even at this period where so many peeps here aint happy with what is going on with their delayed applications. So look for the thread that is related to ur questions or better still anybody here that has gone through what you are asking can b kind enough to give u an answer. Peace.

Sorry Mr.Makano. I just believed I Il quickly get response from here. Sorry if that delays the thread.

Good afternoon everybody

Is it possible for me to use National Open University Certificate for a PhD in Unilag?

Though, I learnt Uniben don't accept NOUN certificate. So, if you have an idea of Nigeria universities that accept NOUN certificate for PhD do let me know.

Patiently waiting for your advise brothers

Many peeps that didn't pay kobo got their study permit and some paid and also got. So its not compulsory you pay school fees at all cos its does not mean they will grant u the visa. Peeps here have paid full school fees and still got refused only for them to start having serious headache getting their school fees back. So the choice is urs... Peace
SugaRush:
Happy New Year Everyone.

Can anyone please confirm if you need to pay your entire school fees before applying for study permit? Can someone just pay acceptance fee or not pay anything at all before applying for study visa?
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by makano:
Hello House, Has anybody here gotten refused after over 6 months of applying? I have mostly been seeing peeps of over 5 months getting approvals. I just wanna know the comparison of either approval or refusal of such long awaited applications. Or should I just assume the longer your application, the most likely you get approved?
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by makano: 7:44pm On Dec 31, 2018
Are you surprised? It is very possible to get ur Study Visa without submitting any SOP. We have seen several cases on this thread and of course that of HotTemple is another proof. SOP or no SOP, it all boils down to the grace of God. Peace
Fakosi:
You didn't submit any SOP?

Congrats Bro,.. So this people actually worked on Christmas day, does that mean they didnt go on vacation?
HOTemple:
Here is my testimony!
Applied July 20
Biometrics July 23
Upfront medical
Medical passed sometime November.
Passport Request December 11
Application approved December 25 (Christmas Miracle)
Passport received today!

The only secret to success is GOD. After Admission I was in a rush to submit my application for the fall intake, I was not even on nairaland or any other forum by then. After submission I came to realize the errors I made or I thought I made in my forms. I did not even know people needed SOP or Ielt until I joined nairaland. My application was without these. I got in contact with an Immigration councilor in Canada to assess my application, other than the tuition fee deposit paid, what was left in my dad’s account was not much, the councilor said I was likely to get rejected but I should still have faith. To be honest, my main concern is to begin my bsc degree in computing science. Since the delay was unbearable, I got admission to the Uk and was waiting for the rejection letter so that I can get my tuition deposit and start my degree in the UK. Then again I decided that I will be positive and I believed my application will be approved, after over 5 months wait having faith and praying was all I could do. YOU NEED TO PRAY OOO!!! That is the only good thing I did on my application, I PRAYED.

Long story short, GOD came through for me
Even when I was told I can’t get admission with neco, I applied to only two uni and got admission from both.
Did I mention the only secret to success is GOD!
A lot of times when we are faced with challenges, he does that to draw Us closer to him.
(For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 )
You are next in line for a Miracle!

I constantly keep seeing many people asking how to order gcms notes; although it's been answered hundreds of times on this Thread. I will just put it here on how to order GCMS NOTES!

How to apply GCMS / ATIP notes.
Only a person who is in Canada can request the notes. Get your sponsor to request on PA'S behalf!

If principal applicant is in Canada, he/she can request for himself and apply for free under Privacy Act.

It takes about 30 days to receive by email. It is a 30 pages document (can be more than 30 pages)

Consent form:

If you dont know what to say about the moniker's GCMS note, its better to keep shut so you wont look stupid. What has Medicals got to do with what he/she Uploaded?
amozag2018:
From your GCMS notes, it appears they have an issue with your medical result (Have you done your medicals?). Secondly, you can send them the receipt of the fee you made through CSE form
