Hi my people, I will like to share a testimony to just encourage someone that you can do it. I know copied my question munamoqel about me asking for price difference on automatic car but I believe you should copy this one too so that people can see that some of us are still getting it right. Thanks to @lexusgs430 for the talk about house rent pay is mortgage money. @ticha, thank you for the knowledge shared on mortgage and always ready to dissect my situation. @mamatukwas my sister, thank you
I got into the Uk 6month ago and here we are as a house owner in the Uk. It can only be God. Thank you Jesus. @munamoqel, ensure you share this too in

Congratulations Sisterly!! You are so inspiring kiss

Areas with good environment and affordable rents are Widnes, Speke L24, Garston L19, Halewood though they are more I can't remember but if you like the feel of being in naija. Then head to kessington area (quite rugged and dirty). I reside in Speke L24 and it's quite nice with a few black families and less wahala..

There was. But no ‘live tv’. We watch Netflix, Prime, Disney+

I’m just curious to know this.

Has anyone ever had a visit by this TV license people despite these their numerous threats? And what was it like, if any?

It was alright. I invited the man in, he came in, spent 2 minutes and I haven’t received a letter since. 4 years and counting. I renew my exemption every 2 years online .

Their school is saying the 30hrs is FREE for nursery as against 15hrs and not asking me for a dime/code but anyone with code will provide to the school and school will claim back their money from council as the subsidy is from the school's pocket.

This subsidy gangan is what I'm trying to clarify cause my understanding is that 2-4yrs in nursery is 15hrs free for everyone so I'm asking if anyone knows anything about the said subsidy. The woman who attended to me said she once worked in Oldham and it's 15hrs for nursery there but most schools in Manchester is 30hrs FREE even for nursery.

I’m more curious as to why a home visit is necessary for nursery admissions where you are. Is that the norm in England? Seems strange.

House,

So I bought goods from a Company. Business transaction. Items over £500+ were not delivered. We found out and asked for a refund for items not delivered. Total transaction was much larger but they delivered the rest.

It’s been over 3 weeks now and the contact guy keeps posting me. Every week he promises to do a refund still no show. What’s the fastest way to get my money out please.

It’s an Indian run company if it helps and payment was made via bank transfer not PayPal so I can’t even use the PayPal route.

I’m getting pissed. Any advice is welcome. Thank you.

Or, book unaccompanied minors tickets for them. Then be at the airport waiting when they arrive. This was what my friend did. Kids were 13, 11 and 8

Another option.

Hr jobs hardly sponsor is a valid statement.

The exception is NHS.

Regardless of role, NHS will sponsor any full time BAND 3/4 upwards.

Provided Full time is >= 37.5 hrs

I didn’t know this until it happened to her. I think Tier 4 peeps definitely need to allow it sink into their heads. It will save some people unnecessary heart ache.

Hi parents,

Please can a family friend(coming in on student visa with his family) bring in my kids(on my student dependant visa) from Nigeria?

Can they also take the kids to do TB test and visa biometrics?

You want friends who aren’t related to being your kids into the UK? If that’s what you’re asking, I’d say it’s probably possible with a lot of detailed paperwork and will most likely invite close scrutiny of the entire traveling party.

Why risk it? I’d advice you make arrangements for yourself or a blood family member to bring them if you can.

Cheers.

Pls I'm interested in the embolden, can you share how they went about this before their graduation?

To answer your question let me share my friend’s story:

Arrived UK as a Student - 09/2021
Started working part time (casual work)- 10/2021 all the while applying for roles in HR where she has over 8+ years experience.
Got Band 5 HR Job- 03/2022 in University of Oxford Part time.
Got Band 5 HR Job- 07/2022 in same University Part time but permanent role.
Got Band 5 Sponsored Role- 08/2022 to start in October. She’s just about to submit her dissertation.

She has remained on band 5 but the scale has been going up with each new job.

It’s important to note that for a long time people told her that HR jobs were hardly sponsored in the UK and she almost gave up but decided to try the NHS and got lucky.

It’s doable

Hello house, I am applying as a dependant, but I've studied in the UK before, some 8 years ago, and even worked briefly. Now, I need my NIN to complete this application. The truth is that I can't remember it and I don't even have my old emails anymore. Please any advise on way forward?

Call the UK NI number. I think all they asked was my name, dob and previous address I lived when I got my previous NI. If you have the info you should be alright. They’ll give you.

On an unrelated topic, please I need advice on how to go about sorting school for my 3yr old that's almost 4. She'll be 4 in October and I was wondering if it'll be possible to get a nursery that will admit her in January even though we're due to get in by September.

Trying to budget my pocket and know if I'm stuck with free 3hrs only or we can get a possible solution to her getting more hours from January after she clocks 4 as an ember baby.

I'll appreciate as much suggestions as possible from moms with experience here to help me explore all possible options.

Where are you?

You don't have to relate with the parents. If you force it, you will struggle as you will likely have different interests. I only relate with the nice ones among them.

My own story: my son is the only black in his class and has loads of friends in his class. He does not get to play with any of them after school as well except when he is invited for birthday parties (which is quite often, for example he currently has about 5 parties this month).
One thing I did is to ensure he attends most of the birthday parties whenever it is not on Sundays. So, he can use the time to bond with his classmates.
When he had his birthday party, I was worried that a lot of his friends will not want to attend his own birthday party but to my amazement, he kept requesting for more invitation cards and we eventually had more people than we budgeted for.

So, don't worry too much about it. Just ensure that you let your kids know that they are loved. Also, get your kid involved in different after school activities where they can make friends.

100% agree with you. I’m the socially awkward parent Sef so I struggle to make small talk while the mums are super nice. I’ve learnt not to force it and only talk when I’m in the mood smiley

Plus as you said, kids are different. I have one kid like yours who’s a social butterfly and the class leader and 2 who are super selective and will only make friends with a small group.

The trick is not to force it and let things flow naturally.

Greetings fam. How do you manage your children not having playmates after school. This is because here parents tend to shield their kids from playing with other kids who are not from their race. Talking about other black kids, they might not be always available to play with your kids. I believe that kids needs to play and bond with other kids of their age for them to grow up normally.

Honestly, don’t sweat it too much. Brown skinned people are also very scarce where I am. My kids are the only ones in an entire school (pri +sec combined). As Ticha said, they play a lot in school already, plus here fortunately everyone invites the whole class to parties so their social calendar is busy.

Just get them involved in extra curricular activities where you can and keep raising them to be confident. Also, (and I tried this recently for my daughter), you can initiate a play date request yourself if your child is particularly close to one person no matter the race. You’ll be shocked that the parent’s are open to it as well.

Looking for a live in nanny/ carer for my child incase anyone got.

Location : Cambridgeshire ( Haverhill)

I hope you find. Otherwise it’s normally a formal letter to the Head of School informing them that he will be relocating to live with this father.

It’s not a big deal. As long as you inform the school and it’s acknowledged.
