Ebonyi State Govt Reacts To Bomb Explosion In Afikpo, Abakaliki

Ebonyi State Government has reacted to the alleged bomb explosion in Afikpo and Abakaliki on Tuesday.

In a statement made available to IGBERE TV by the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Governor David Nweze Umahi said the news is in sharp contrast to the reality as the incident was a grenade of a security personnel carrying out his duties at the said location that accidentally exploded.



He noted that A similar incident equally occurred in front of the Ebonyi State Old Government House as some mobile police officers were servicing their APC machine.


He further revealed that The first incident took the life of a passerby while the second caused injuries on the affected person, who has been taken to the hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.


The statement reads,

"My attention has been drawn to a news making the round in some section of the media that there was an explosion of a suicide bomb in Afikpo, Ebonyi State this afternoon."

"The above news is in sharp contrast to the reality as the incident was a grenade of a security personnel carrying out his duties at the said location that accidentally exploded. A similar incident equally occurred in front of the Ebonyi State Old Government House as some mobile police officers were servicing their APC machine. The first incident took the life of a passerby while the second caused injuries on the affected person, who has been taken to the hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment."

"The general public is, therefore, charged to disregard the fake news as it is the handiwork of enemies of the state who are bent on causing panic where none exists."

"Furthermore, Ebonyians and residents of Ebonyi State are reminded that generating and spreading of fake news aimed at causing panic in the state is actionable."

Police Kill One Unknown Gunman That Attacked Police Stations in Ebonyi (Photo)

The Nigerian police have killed one unknown
gunmen that attacked the Onicha, Abaomege, and Ohaozara police stations, Ebonyi state which led to the death of some police officers.



The Ebonyi state police commissioner, CP Aliyu Garba, confirmed the death of the gang leader identified as Blood (real name unknown).

CP Aliyu explained that, in his mission to clear the criminals from the state, men of the command arrested two male suspected armed robbers and also recovered firearms, ammunition, and other incriminating items from their house in the Isu Onicha local government area of the state.

The command’s police public relations officer, PPRO, DSP Loveth Odah, in a statement on Monday, said the success was recorded on May 20, 2021.

According to her, at about 5 pm, Thursday, May 20, 2021 following the intelligence reports of movement of arms and ammunition and the report of armed robbers terrorising Isu, Onicha local government area, DSP Odah told newsmen, one Eluu Ekpehu Emmanuel was arrested. He was said to have made useful statements to the police and led police operatives to the house of their gang leader, popularly known as “Blood” (other names unknown), who is alleged to have been terrorising the area, and master minder of the various attacks on three police divisional headquarters in the area, namely Onicha, Abaomege, and Ohaozara.



According to her, the suspect and his group, on sighting the police, opened fire on the operatives who fought back, and that, in the process, Blood was apprehended with gunshot injuries while others escaped into the nearby bush with bullet wounds.

“Blood’s house and premises were immediately searched adding that one (1) double barrel English gun, with eleven live cartridges one (1) locally made single gun, one (1) riot police smoke gunner, stolen from Ohaozara police divisional headquarters when the division was attacked and on the 6th May 2021 were recovered.

“Other items recovered include, three (3) police bartons, one (1) hand grenade, one (1) canister of teargas, two (2) police belts, and two (2) police radio communication handset with chargers, all stolen from Onicha divisional headquarters which was also attacked and set ablaze on 4th February 2021.

She said four (4) Biafra flags and one (1) juju box were also found at his place, adding that

“the wounded suspect was immediately rushed to AE-Federal Teaching Hospital (AE-FETHA) Abakaliki for medical treatment, where he later gave up the ghost.

“The corpse has been deposited at the same hospital mortuary for preservation adding that the gang was responsible for the attacks on government facilities and the killing of security agents in the state.”

Operatives of the South East Security Outfit, Ebubeagu, the Ebonyi State Command have arrested no fewer than eight armed robber suspects in the state.



The suspects who confessed to the crimes were arrested in their various crime scenes and brought to old government House located at opposite the headquarters of Ebonyi state police command, Abakaliki.



The Commissioner of Internal Security, Border Peace and Conflict Resolutions, Mr. Stanley Emegha Okoro confirmed the arrest. He said no day passes without Ebubeagu not arresting crime suspects in the state.



He stated that Ebubeagu since its formation in South east especially in Ebonyi state has recorded a lot of breakthrough by controlling crimes and criminality and restoring peace and order in the state.



One of the suspects, Igwe Paulinus who hails from Ikwo Local Government Area who confessed to the crime, said “I have a gun called 1 Npa, so according to what is happening in Ebonyi state, I decided to bring it out and surrender, that I will not do it again. I will not do anything about stealing again and I promise. That’s why I bring the gun out and I promise sir.



“Look at the gun sir. The reason I bought the gun was for protection and for now I have quite and I promise, I will not do it again. I have involved in two or three robbery at meat market here. I use to rob phones.



“My friend whom I use to follow and rob have entered prison. I have no one again since then. They have been looking for me on the case that made him (friend) to enter prison.



“I decided to quite, thinking of how to join Ebubeagu security network. I was in the town thinking of how to come and join Ebubeagu but because of what I have done, I didn’t know how to approach them and tell them.



“I was at the vanco junction when i saw them (Ebubeagu) coming, i didn’t run, I stood and surrendered my self to them” he said.



Another suspect, Ngele Chiemerie also confessed to crime: “I’m here because we collected someone phone at Nsuka street Abakaliki, in front of my house. I have robbed only two times. Forgive me sir, i will not do it again” he said.



One other suspect who gave his name as Chinweuba and hails from Oriuzor community in Ezza north local government area as well confessed to the crime.



According to him: “I was sleeping in my friend shop when Ebubeagu security network came in there and arrested us. They said we have been robbing people.



“Yes, I have been robbing people. I have been involving in crimes. I have been collecting people’s phones in the town” he said



The suspects were later handed over to the police for further investigation and possible arraignment in court on Monday.

Comrade Agi Blasts CEO Of SHELL, Exposes How He Is Sponsoring Pipeline Vandalization

Comrade Agi Bestman has lambasted the Chief Executive Officer of SHELL, Ben Van Beurden, exposing how he Is sponsoring vandalization of Pipelines connecting to Nigerian Refineries.

IGBERE TV recalls that the Honourable Minister of Justice Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami SAN, approved a petition filed by Agi Bestman in respect to IOCs land grabbing and none implementation of MOU CSR in the Niger Delta Region.

The petitioner, Comrade Agi, who doubles as the National Coordinator of Niger Delta IOCs Land Grabbing MOU CSR Investigation accused the Chief Executive of Royal Dutch SHELL, Ben Van Beurden of being responsible and sponsoring pipe line vandalization and monopolizing Nigerian Oil and Gas daily production volume in the United Kingdom and Netherlands for the past five decades, calling for 30 million man match with t shirts against SHELL to finally divest from Nigeria, and be replaced by Chinese oil and gas production company because Chinese Government is continually lending money to Nigeria for development but the United Kingdom does not want Nigerian development.

Agi, described Ben Van Beurden statement against the people of Niger Delta region as baseless, ridiculous, tramp.

He noted that Shell has regularly ensured that Nigerian Refineries do not work just to invoke hardship in the Niger Delta region, to enable the IOCs give our people peanut as contract to work against federal government of Nigeria by vandalizing pipelines connecting to Nigeria refineries.

Agi, said all the IOCs send her daily oil and gas production volume report to SHELL in the UK, Netherlands for doctoring, before they send to a production statistics metering company in Lagos, before the company sends to NNPC at the the end of the month.

Agi said each IOCs produces not less than 1.2million barrels of oil per day, 600million cubic of gas per day but SHELL ensures that this figures are doctored on daily basis from UK.

According to him, "The production pressure which increases every now and then, is what SHELL describes as EXCESS CRUDE, but this wicked SPDC do not declare Excess Crude regularly since President Muhammadu Buhari assumed office, because this Administration is fighting and exposing corruption, though Nigerians said they are not fighting corruption, but i am convinced that corruption is being exposed in Nigeria today, and many government officials are being careful. As a result of corruption fight in Nigeria today, SHELL has blatantly refused on many occasions to declare Excess Crude volume."

"All the IOCs in Nigeria is currently using digital DCS to ensure monitoring of crude and gas production from their various countries while the production is taken place in Nigeria."

"The Oil and Gas monopoly has a CABAL in the UK, Netherlands and Nigeria. The production statistics mitering company should be changed and be Investigated."

Land Grabbing MOU CSR Investigation

During the interview, Agi, also called on prospective IOCs or Indigenous Developing oil firm, to ensure that they deduct 20% of their gross payment to SHELL when purchasing SHELL on shore platforms in Nigeria.

According to him, "this is base on the call made by the CEO of SHELL that SHELL is preparing to divest from all Onshore sites in Nigeria due to oil theft but is a lie, the divestment is coming because SHELL has seen that Nigerian courts are slamming them with charges."

Agi also accused SHELL of receiving JVA Cash Call from the Federal Government without any positive impacts on ground in the Niger Delta Region," instead SHELL uses this fund to pay their Nigerian staff salaries, awards little minor contracts without execution to politicians to humble them to remain quiet, their staff award proxy contracts to their cronies."

Comtempt of Court

According to Agi, SHELL does not obey Nigerian court orders and processes because they have a CABAL that speaks for them if any president emerges.

He said," SHELL is not perturbed over Nigerian judiciary and extant laws of Nigeria. It is only this Administration of President Muhammadu Buhari that SHELL is loosing court cases and Communities getting good judgement, this is the reason SHELL wants to divest from Onshore."

IOCs Production Sharing Contracts Judgement

Agi said SHELL sponsored other IOCs against payment of the supreme court judgement on production sharing contracts. He said SHELL sponsored campaign of calumny against the dignity and integrity of Honorable Minister of Justice Attorney General Federation Abubakar Malami in respect to the 62 billion dollars recovery. The cacophony that transpired then, accusing the AGF of planning to take 5% of the money was sponsored by SHELL and their Nigerian oil production volume CABAL. But the AGF was innocent came from the allegations with flying colours.

30 Million Man Match Against SHELL To Divest From Nigeria

Agi, said Nigeria will experience rapid development if SHELL divest from Nigeria . Stressing that evidence against SHELL on courts processes is enough for Nigerian Government to eradicate SHELL out of Nigeria to ensure development in the country. But due to international treaties signed by SHELL and Nigerian Govt SHELL is taken Nigeria for a play. This is why we are calling for the 30million man match against SPDC to divest from Nigeria.

Lost of Focus From Nigerian Youths.

On lost of focus from Nigerian youths, Comrade Agi said : "The problems we have here is that Nigerian Youths are not interested in knowing their daily production volume of Oil and Gas but only focuses on the state governments and Federal govt failures while SHELL is the problems of Nigerian."

Base on this, Agi called for 30 million man match with T Shirts against SHELL stressing that SHELL must divest from Nigeria, or any international treaties between SHELL and Federal Government of Nigeria should be revisited with immediate effects, to ensure development in Nigeria, as SHELL has killed Nigeria planing for the Burial.

According to him, "On the 30 Million Man Match we shall obey all COVID-19 protocols. Any one without the T Shirt with the Logo SPDC must divest entirely from Nigeria won't be permitted to be on the train of the campaign. The campaign shall last for six months, starting from 8th/3/2021."

Agi, finally said that IOCs goes as far as paying to stop any media campaign against its operations in Nigeria, calling on media partnership on covering the 30Million Man Match Against SHELL to divest from Nigeria.

Okorocha To Uzodinma: "This Attack Has Opened a New but Ugly Chapter in Imo Politics"

Former Governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha has told the current Governor of the State, Hope Uzodinma that the attack on him by his aides "has opened a new but ugly chapter in Imo Politics".

Senator Okorocha made this known through a statement sent to IGBERE TV by his Special Adviser on Media, Sam Onwuemeodo.

He noted that Okorocha has never been a violent man and assured that they will react fully to the situation.

According to the statement, "more than 1000 thugs, armed to teeth with knives and guns and led by Chinasa Nwaneri, governor Hope Uzodinma’s Special Adviser on Special Duties today, Sunday, Feb. 21, 2021, with the backing of armed policemen from Government House, attacked the former governor of the State and Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District, Senator Rochas Okorocha’s Convoy. They attacked and damaged all the Vehicles in his Convoy. They also attacked his personal aides."

"Senator Okorocha was with only his personal aides when the thugs unleashed the attack."

"Okorocha has the strongest political structure in the state and teaming followers in the State. If he had expected the attacked, he would not have moved with his personal aides alone."

BREAKING!!! Tension As Gunmen Storm Police Station In Ebonyi, 3 Killed, Others Injured!

There is currently tension in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital after suspected gunmen killed three police officers while 2 others were injured in Ezza South LGA of the state.

IGBERE TV gathered that the the slain officers identified as Inspector Danzumi Jimba, Inspector chilaka Anthony and Corporal Juliana Ugwu-Anyim were killed on Friday, 8 January.

An eyewitness who spoke with IGBERE TV said the policemen were attacked by suspected hoodlums who invaded the police station at about 8:45pm on Friday night.

Investigations revealed that the slain officers were two inspectors and one female who was relaxing in her room when the hoodlums struck.

It was also gathered that the attackers took away three AK 47 rifles kept at the station.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mrs. Loveth Oda, who confirmed the incident explained that corpses of the slain officers had been deposited in a mortuary while the two who sustained bullet wounds were receiving treatment.

However, the Commissioner for Internal Security in the State, Mr. Stanley Okoroemegha, said government was saddened by the incident and had given security agencies forty-eight hours to brief the government on how such breach occurred without any intelligence to forestall it.

BREAKING!!! Biafra : UK, Israel Petitioned To Repatriate Nnamdi Kanu

A renowned group, Pan-Ohanaeze Ndigbo socio-political organisation, Coalition of South East Professionals Network in Nigeria and Diaspora (CSEPNND), has petitioned United Kingdom and Israel, through the Federal Government to repatriate Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, to face the law over an alleged treasonable felony, IGBERE TV reports.

CSEPNND’s National President, Prof. Madumere Chika and National Secretary, Mazi Anayo Uchemba, in a petition seen by IGBERE TV, dated January 8th, 2021, released Saturday, and addressed to President Muhammadu Buhari, noted that their decision were predicated on Kanu’s abuse of his citizenship capable of casting Nigeria in a bad light before the international community.

Chika described Kanu as a fugitive who escaped the law after being granted bail following his arrest and detention over treasonable felony and appealed to the United Kingdom and the Nation of Israel to cooperate with the Nigerian government to bring back Kanu to Nigeria to continue trial.

“We are constrained to write this open letter to the Federal Government of Nigeria through the President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, to immediately write the Government of the United Kingdom, requesting the extradition of our fugitive son and founder of Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, to Nigeria to continue his trial over alleged treasonable felony.

“Since Kanu escaped justice to the United Kingdom where he has another citizenship, we have watched him on some video clips he posted on the Internet where he did not only boast that he would not submit himself before the trial that was abruptly suspended due to his sudden disappearance from the country but also threatened that he would destroy our dear country.

“He has no doubt,followed the threat with a number of attacks on the country apart from the formation of a militia group which information at our disposal suggest he has armed to the teeth to fight the Nigerian Government.

“We call on the Federal Government of Nigeria being ably led by President Muhammadu Buhari to direct the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, whose ministry deals with all extradition issues, to immediately forward extradition request on Kanu to the UK for action,” he said.

He further called on the United Kingdom and Israel, to deny the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, the freedom of using the privilege of his foreign citizenship to incite violence against the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“We call on both the UK and Israel not to be seen to be facilitating the inglorious activities of a fugitive in Nigeria. They can prove their opposition to the activities of Kanu by flushing him out now.

“We reiterate that we have reached a point where we expect the UK not to severe the ties that exist between it and Nigeria. We advise it to revisit its ill-advised choice of keeping a terrorist against the Nigerian state.

“Having worked and contributed effortlessly to see Nigeria at its present state, we believe that the United Kingdom and Israel would not want to see Nigeria a shattered state.

“It is in this regard that we are strongly appealing to them to assist in the extradition of Kanu, whose activities have been against the unity of Nigeria.

“As Igbo sons and daughters, we wish to inform Nigerians that Kanu is alone in his cessation project and has no reasonable person behind him,” he said.

He added that even though the South East region had not had its fair share in the one Nigeria project, adding that the pursuit of inclusive government must be channelled through appropriate lawful means.

“Though our people are highly marginalized and deserve the right for agitation, but that must be done legally and by the appropriate people not a deviant young man like Nnamdi Kanu who is out for his selfish interest.

“Kanu has disobeyed this valid court order, which has not been set aside, either by the trial court, or by the Court of Appeal.

“Kanu has always lamented the treatment of people from the South East zone by the Nigerian government and by other Nigerians. This formed the reason for his agitation for a country of his own.

“However, while Kanu has a right to legally clamour for whatever he believes in, he should also know that the Igbo Nation has recognized spokespersons in the forms of the governors, legislators and Ohaneze Ndigbo, the apex Igbo socio-cultural group. Any serious statements are supposed to come from these people after extensive consultations,” he concluded.

"It's Never Too Late To Reject The Venom", ex President Jonathan Tells Trump

Former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, has told outgoing United States of America President, Donald Trump that it is never too late to reject the venom and inject the serum of peace.

IGBERE TV had reported that Trump's supporters moved on to besiege the Capitol — leading to unsettling scenes of chaos and violence unseen in Washington for decades.

President-Elect, Joe Biden also called on Trump to “go on national television now” to “demand an end to this siege."

Reacting over the development, Jonathan said

He noted that as a leader, one must not just look unto one’s own interest, but the interest and the good of society.

Governor David Nweze Umahi has commended the people of Uburu for not interfering in his leadership as Governor of the State, Igbere TV reports.

The Governor made the commendation during the 2020 Uburu day at his country home.

Governor Umahi while charging people in authority to always impact in the lives of their subjects also advised those charged to execute Government projects to do so in quality.

"We have come up with a template for effective leadership in Ebonyi State which are equity, fairness and justice and no one has the capacity to change it, I love my people, I love Ebonyi people, anytime I am at home, I eat outside, if I am in Abakaliki, I eat outside, every body in Government has got something to give"

The Governor while announcing that the new Medical School in Uburu will take off before the end of March, also said efforts were on to ensure all round water supply and electricity in the State soon.

Leaders of the Community Eze Lazarus Umahi Ph.D and Dr Daniel Umezuruike thanked Governor Umahi for the massive infrastructural development in Uburu and restated their readiness to continue supporting his administration.

High point of the event was the presentation of Governor Umahi's statue as produced by Mr. Stephen Umahi, a beneficiary of Governor Umahi's Scholarship programme as well as cultural dances.

The Governor earlier received a delegation of Isuokoma Community led by Chairman of Onicha LGA, mr Felix Igboke who assured of their unflinching support to his government.

The Governor thanked the people for their goodwill and pledged to continue accommodating them in their governance.

The Chief Whip of the Senate and Caucus  Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) Abia State,  Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, on Wednesday,  received the former Executive Chairman of Ukwa West Local Government Area , Chief Sylvanus Nwaji of the Peoples Democratic Party to the APC, Igbere TV reports.


 Presenting the broom to Nwaji on behalf the Chairman of the Caretaker  Committee of the APC , Governor Mai Buni ,  Kalu commended the former LG Boss for  his  decision to join the APC , and asked him to register in his ward immediately. 




Kalu who noted that he is glad Nwaji is back to the APC after rendering service to his community  through the PDP also urged him to sweep out all evils around him with the broom .


Handing him the broom , the former  Governor said :  "On behalf of the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of our great party and the Governor of Yobe State, His Excellency,  Governor Mai  Buni , who have asked me to continue to give the broom to new members, I want to welcome you back to your family where you belong to and I will give you back the broom from today to sweep out every evil you see around you" Kalu stated.

In his response,  Nwaji thanked those present including Senator Kalu and his brother,  Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu.  


He noted that he took permission from the Chief Whip to serve his people and he has finished his service and back to where he should serve more 


His words: " The Chief Whip of the Senate of Nigeria; Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, The former Chief of staff; Chief  Mascot Uzor Kalu, my brother here who stands as my witness , Signor Kalu .  I accept the broom as a symbol of my family where I belonged before. 


" I  was called to serve, service is for all of us and have served my people  in the capacity of transition Chairman and today I am back to my family .  I took permission from the Chief whip of the Senate of Nigeria to go and serve and I am back again to tell him that I have finished my service and back, and I thank him for his warmth acceptance and I say with the large heart,  I will not disappoint him and if given any other capacity to serve in our party, I will not hesitate to be loyal."


Concluding with prayers , he said , "I thank God almighty for helping me today and may He help APC to govern the state come 2023, may God help us all in Jesus name", he said.

We Are Blessed To Have Umahi As Chairman South-East Governors' Forum - Iwuanyanwu

The foremost Igbo leader, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu has commended Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State who is also the Chairman South East Governors' Forum for his efforts at ensuring the peace and unity of the Igbo nation.

IGBERE TV reports that Chief Iwuanyanwu made the observation when he led a strong contender for the President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Professor George Obiozor on a consultation visit to Governor Umahi at his Uburu country home.

Chief Iwuanyanwu while appreciating Governor Umahi for the massive renewal of the Abakaliki Capital City and environs solicited the support of Ebonyi State to the candidature of Professor Obiozor whom he described as best suited for the job among his challengers.

"After rigorous evaluation, we have discovered that Professor Obiozor's qualification and pedigree is quite appealing and we are convinced that he is the right person we can give to the South East Governors' Forum and Ndigbo and we will not be disappointed, he is a very sound person, he has served Nigeria in so many capacities and he is the choice of Imo people"

The top contender, Professor George Obiozor who described Governor David Umahi as the best and brightest in the region, thanked the Ohaneze Ndigbo Imo State Chapter for choosing him as their consensus candidate and pledged to live up to expectations.

"Governor Umahi is one of our best and brightest. He is the Governor of Governors, you are an example of Igbo exceptionalism, Igbo capacity of turning difficult things into something that proved to be dividends and opportunities, I thank you, I also thank Imo Ohaneze for choosing me as their consensus candidate, Igbos today are in a difficult situation and we need maturity to solve those problems, my aim is to assemble the Igbos, all we need is to create a common course, by coming to Ebonyi State today, we know that our future is bright and that is the options for the Igbos, by the grace of God, I will never disappoint you"

Responding, the Governor of Ebonyi State and Chairman South East Governor's Forum, Engr. David Umahi lauded Chief Iwuanyanwu for his unrelenting efforts at preserving Igbo identity and galvanizing its unity.

He cautioned people of South East against unguarded utterances that are capable of igniting hostilities among brothers and other regions in the Country.

"I believe that opposition strengths our position but we can't discuss the security of South East on the pages of newspapers, after all, we are still the safest in the country, we need a revolution in character and content, we need it, Igbos were originally know for character "

Governor Umahi while debunking the allegations that President Buhari hates the Igbos insisted that the Igbos especially Ebonyi State never had it so good as under President Buhari.

"Buhari is not against the Igbo man, it is at his time that Ebonyi State is seeing development, it is from his efforts that we are building the International Airport, the Ultra-modern Teaching Hospital and he even gave us over 3 billion naira to build the Cancer Centre in that hospital, etc, so he doesn't hate the Igbos"

The Governor while calling on Chief Iwuanyanwu not to relent in the task of rebuilding the Southeast through unity declared his support and that of Ebonyi people to the election of Professor George Obiozor as President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo come January 10th, 2021.

"I will stand with Ambassador Obiozor, we want character for the Igbo people, I love anyone that loves an Igbo man."

He tasked Professor Obiozor to regenerate Igbo unity when he emerges as the President General.

Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, Chairman of Champions Newspapers was joined on the visit by notable personalities including retired Inspector General of Police, Mike Okiro and many others.

JUST IN!!! Lectures Recommence In Gregory University Uturu


Academic activities are set to resume in Gregory University Uturu, after the Christmas and New Year holidays.

According to a release made available to IGBERE TV by the Acting Registrar, Mrs. Rosemary Igboekwe, lectures have been scheduled to commence virtually on Monday, January 4, 2021 in continuation of the Harmattan Semester of the 2020/2021 academic session.

Part of the press statement reads thus:


"After the Christmas and New Year break, we are glad to announce the commencement of online lectures, from Monday, January 4, 2021. This is to enable us fulfill the statutory 18-week academic work, required to make up a semester, while complying with National Universities Commissions (NUC) directives on closure of schools due to the second wave of COVID-19 in Nigeria".


The release therefore, requests all scholars of GUU to visit the schools official website (www.gregoryuniversityuturu.edu.ng), to download the updated online lecture timetable as released by the Centre for e-Learning Resource in conjunction with the Directorate of SERVICOM and Quality Assurance, while also enjoining lecturers to post weblinks to their lectures on all designated social media platforms for scholars.


Recall that Gregory University Uturu successfully resorted to virtual teaching and learning in 2020, at the peak of the nationwide lockdown, occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic. This enabled the timely completion of the 2019/2020 academic session and subsequent convocation ceremony of the school's fifth batch of graduates on December 12, 2020.

SHOCKING!!! Man Hacks His Baby Mama In Imo Over Food (Photos)

A 27-year-old businessman, Emmanuel Chukwuma Igwe, has been accused of brutalizing his baby mama, Porcia Achonu, and cutting her with a cutlass, in Owerri, Imo State.

According to the mother of two, the incident occurred on Saturday, January 2, at about 1am, shortly after they had returned from a trip to the village.


“My baby daddy’s younger sister served him food and I asked her about mine. She eyed me and hissed. So I stood up from where I was and went to her room to collect a piece of chicken, she grabbed the chicken from me and asked me if I was mad.


So we started fighting and my baby daddy came in and descended on me. He beat me up so badly that his father came out and was holding me. They locked me inside the house and said I wouldn’t go anywhere. Even when my brother came, they refused to let him in.


Later, my baby daddy asked his father to open the gate so he can leave, but instead, he went to his car and brought out a cutlass which he used to chopped me repeatedly in the presence of his father. At a point, I pretended as if I was dead so he could leave me alone. He fell for it and that was when he drove off with his car.


He’s currently on the run, but his father has been arrested,” she said.
