Besides, people on minimum wage in the advanced societies have social security protections from health insurance to tax credits and other subsidies. It required a certain degree of will power to ignore this program even as people flocked to it back in the day. I still detest how Africans instantly gravitate towards the superstitious and paranormal. This man's program was almost religion to some. On a serious note, it's time for Mr. Ibu to help those who have been helping him by being more committed to his own health. It's obvious he suffers from diabetes. It's a sickness that can only be controlled. It cannot be cured. He has to make some difficult lifestyle changes - cut down his weight [especially his belly], eat healthier and exercise. These are things he must do - they're not optional - if he wants to stay healthy and out of hospital. I wish him the best.

No kidding. The current crop of Nigerian goalkeepers are a disaster. Nigeria wins nothing with that Uzoho guy in goal. After Vincent Enyeama, the closest we ever came to having a goalkeeper worth that description was Carl Ikeme. All of them since then have been a travesty.

Two things. First, Nigerians generally behave like the Roman mob of the Brutus and Mark Anthony era. They follow whoever spoke last - no individual judgment, no capacity to process and reflect on anything, just plain emotional reaction to the most recent speaker, whoever that is.

Second, we are done for as humans in this social media world which basically rewards notoriety and noisemaking. Many people might think Reno Omokri is a straight up guy. But this is just an unemployed "social media influencer" monetizing bullshit, sensationalism and notoriety. The more divisions and controversies he's able to stir up, the more money he makes - that's the model of this social media world. How is it that someone could descend so swiftly from being the eyes and ears of the Nigerian President (which Omokri was to Goodluck Jonathan) to a social media noisemaker, causing confusion and muddying the waters of every single debate he gets himself involved in? And how could Naira Marley settle on Omokri as the first person to have an interview with on this very grave issue when Omokri is not a trained journalist or anything resembling that? Come on people!

Tomorrow is Sunday. Nigerian churches will be full to overflowing with so-called Christians. Come Monday, they'll all return to their superstitions about disappearing manhoods, money rituals, stolen destinies, etc. Jesus said it all. These people honor me with their lips. But their heart is far from me.

So long as Nigerian politicians continue to spend money they haven't earned, the naira will continue to suffer. It's not rocket science. Not only are you not selling anything to earn foreign exchange, you're also voracious in your appetite for everything imported - cars, clothes, toothpicks, tomato paste, etc. Whose foreign exchange do you want to spend? There's no saving the naira until the politicians learn a lesson which they won't.
