The people buying transcorp now are not kid investors. They are mopping up every available offer at any price. Something is definitely happening there.
Peterichy was spot on here. Transcorp is no Transcorpse after all.

Well we all know Dangote is a shrewd business man. However, I take it that you're assuming he sold at a profit. The financial terms have been kept under wraps for a reason.
The only aspect of the deal that surprised me, is that, Dufil agreed to operate and produce from Dangote Noodles facilities for two years using the same "Dangote noodles" brand shocked Retaining the brand name is the red flag o
I won't be surprised if he sold at a loss but plans a reverse takeover after 2 years. He needs the "Indomie" secret badly. He obviously wants to sustain (more like improve) the brand name for a reason. The bolded just doesn't make sense to me. Anyway, just thinking aloud. Na from stock market I fit benefit from any fallout of this deal.

You mean after the management already stated their intention to recapitalize earnings? Dividend will most likely be paid from earnings of subsidiaries.

Keep your expectations low wrt dividends. Recovery is the bigger picture.

DANGOTE Flour Mills, yesterday, announced it has exited its noodles business and has sold the assets of Dangote Noodles to Dufil Prima Foods, makers of Indomie noodles.

I am more impressed with Dufil Prima Foods. They just proved they are the undisputed leader in the noodles market. They fought of competition from Dangote noodles, May&Baker's Mimie and the numerous noodles that hit the market. Wow!

UAC Foods is waging the same war in the sausage segment of the food market.

You might need to confirm elsewhere and that's if I got your question correctly, there are indexes traded on the NSE. However, I am not sure it is in the manner you are familair with. What obtains here are funds or pool of funds that trade stocks listed in a market segment eg banking, consumer group, NSE 30 etc. These funds are listed and traded on the NSE. Examples are Stanbic IBTC ETF 30, Vetiva banking ETF, Vetiva Industrial ETF etc.

Same applies to every other unknowns on the NSE. Those that know would be making the move while the know-nots will be watching the stock price and be like "what's going on in ****? cheesy cheesy

Someone was comparing PZ and Unilever with UACN the other day. Both are tightly held by their parent companies unlike UACN hence the reason the share prices won't and can't respond the same way. UACN will crash faster (with negative news) and rise slower (with positive news).

FCMB is a holding company same as FBNH . If FCMB has released its result, I wonder y FBNH is giving excuses.
I honestly believe that audited reports shouldn't exceed a quarter after year end but it's just unfortunate the way things are done in this part of the world.
That said, FBNH has a Mortgage banking and Insurance subsidiaries both requiring regulatory approval of results before they can be incorporated into the holding company results. FCMB holdco has neither of these.
However, I'm aware one of the insurance subsidiaries have its results approved already.

FCMB actually declared a loss in Q3 (mar-jun) and Q4 (sept-Dec). I hope the hemorrhaging stops in Q1,2017 but I'm afraid there's a possibilty of a repeat.
For me, I think the stock will fall tomorrow depending on the number of those of us that aren't considering the absolute FY eps alone. It's just an opinion, I could be wrong. The next quarterly result is due in about 2 weeks. The picture should be clearer then. I advise everyone to exercise caution.

Edit: Q4 was not a loss. Apologies.

I have 1 million shares with UCAP before closure but I just got a bank alert of 117k naira now which is far from what am expecting. Is it possible or someone in UCAP is trying to play smart huh
You bought in tranches. Activated e-dividend along the way but didn't request the extension of this service to subsequent purchases. It is not automatic bro, especially if you bought through different brokers. Consolidate your holdings with the REGISTRARS. It's got nothing to do with UCAP.

You clearly invest with a gambling mentality. I am not saying you cannot make money. I am appealing that you do not spread this hapahazard logic as sacrosanct. There has to be a method to the madness even if the madness does not always win the MAD award.
The ways of a trader, especially a day-trader, are crazy to a value investor. Each should never make an attempt on deciphering the logic behind the other's way. We have been here before. Most times, the assault is even from traders on value investors.
Understand your personality and lifestyle. Respect views from the 'other' camp.
Lastly, everyone is advised to always include a caveat in their post/pick.

NB: Never hesistate to share your opinion on picks or stock investment in general.

The light at the end of tunnel of the Elephant is still dim. Bad loans have refused to go away. Q3 loans impairment already hit N115b. I will be happy if full year does not exceed N130b. Any impairment in excess of N150b, please run away and never look back.
Rising impairment worrisome. But are you aware there were new developments in the 4th quarter? One of the major defaulters (Aiteo) had their loan restructured so it would no longer classified as nonperforming. What I am not sure of is if this was concluded before the close of the 4th quarter. You would recall the announcement of landmark production from the well Aiteo acquired from Shell divestment.
I wish there was any new info on the Atlantic Energy loan. The FG was going to resell assets to another investor.

Please note that I am going long on FBNH.

Now you are derailing after misleading people. Being a PMI REP shouldnt be seen as a achevement for a university, simple!

I dont know why you are mentioning PDU. Is PDU mentioned in the original post? You are made a mistake, rather than ignore the thread or admit your mistake you talking about PDUs. PDU is for certified PMPs and the original post addresed non-certified pmp. So that i deliberately excluded its mention doesnt make me narrow-minded or know nothing about it.
How is it not an achievement to be the ONLY PMI REP in Nigeria? It is a first so why can't it be celebrated? Prometric centres where one could take the CBT exam existed in the past (but not anymore). I will now take your advice and ignore the thread seeing you refuse to understand and accept that local PMI REPs are needed by not only aspiring PMPs but certified ones too.

Please dont mislead people oo.. What are you even saying, you have to be a PMI REP to provide 35 contact hours. Dipo's institute at ebutte metta, Ciel consulting etc are PMI REPs. Your education is also recognized by PMI if you complete online courses such as Cornelius fitchner, pmstudy, Rita etc.
I dont even know where you got the idea of PDU bacause it is not mentioned in the original post.
Bro, I have been a PMP since 2009. Open your mind to learn and you will learn what you know not. CU has always taught Project management as a course but was never a PMI REP. Those of us that read the news know the message being past across.

I hope you are aware you have to renew your PMP every 3-year cycle? You will know what PDUs, CCRs etc are.

Here's a link to help you.

Oga dont be decieved. You dont need 4 years to undergo pmi's courses. Just 4 weekends (sat & sun) is sufficient. Dont believe the hype. I'm a certified pmp holder and I know the process. As a matter of fact, going through pmi courses is just a pre-requisite, its not the real deal in becoming a pmp.
Your posts might be misleading. I am not aware of any "PMI REP" in Nigeria. What we have are institutions that provide the requisite project management education hours needed to be a PMP. They are NOT PMI REPs.
PMI REPs provide education that are recognized and approved by the PMI for maintaining your PMP certification.
No Nigerian institution offers education either online or classroom taught that you can use for Professional Development Units.

Thats to show that there is a big problem for stocks with disappointing results. First Bank on my mind.
Stocks with disappointing results might not suffer much (at least in the short term). The market is in a wait-and-see state (my opinion).
The winners this bearish period will be companies giving out bonus scripts as witnessed in NB ( optional bonus though). This way value is conserved compared to dividends that is difficult to repatriate.
Any company that shows a sign of recovery, especially in the first quarter is going to outperform the market. Imagine FBNH reporting a recovery of bad loans to Aiteo and Atlantic Energy. Aiteo is doable judging from the production recovery witnessed since the beginning of the year.
