Bro. I bought some units of WAPCO thru Morgan Capital and they are closing their register 2moro. What do I need to do in order to receive my dividend?
Not sure you asked the right question grin Are you expecting a credit alert or cheque in the mail box? For the former, visit your bank and ask for E-dividend mandate form. For the latter,do nothing......better still, start praying to receive the cheque in less than six months from payment date. tongue

Dangote Flour has had, Negative Retained Earning, for some years. With a negative retained earning, you can't pay dividend(It's like having negative bank account balance). But with the accumulating profit in the last few qtrs, the retained earning is projected to turn positive by year end. Thus, we grin grin shareholders, are expecting something huge or nice grin grin, this year.
As at Jan 1, 2017(pg 7 of Q1 unaudited), Accumulated losses/Retained earnings stood at (N12.4B) only. By the end of Q1,2017 it improved to (N9.84B) meaning gain of about N2.62B. Dangflour will barely turn positive as far as retained earnings is concerned if it continues at this rate. The company must report higher profits to meet your huge expectation. I don't doubt the potential of the management to make this happen though. Just trying to paint a clearer picture. Subsequent quarters should be better. I also believe the market might reprice this stock higher before the year ends as continuous profits are declared quarterly.

This is not a recommendation to BUY or to REFRAIN from buying.

EDIT: Just realized there's a seperate report (pg 8 of Q1 unaudited) stating (N8.51B) as at Jan 1,2017 which has now improved to (N5.48B). (Accountants in the house, what's the difference between the two?) Then, it's expected to turn positive by Q3,2017 if tempo is maintained.

Floury Profits for your Portfolio in 2017!
One of the best performer in yesterday's trading is the Consumer Goods sector. The sector added a whopping 1.27% price gain to even beat the closest, banking sector which gained 0.88%. However presently, Consumer Goods is under-performing the NSE All share index. Additionally, within this sector is the Food Products industry group.

Focusing on the Flour companies, Dangote Flour has since over-performed the sector since April, and now the weekly outlook is bearish while the daily is still in search of the support level. The current support level is located at 3.97 (chart 1).

In yesterday's trading, both Honeywell Flour and Flour mills Nig out-performed the group. Both weekly and daily are bullish. Charts 2 & 3.

If the market continue to be bullish, the flour making companies are poised to out-perform Consumer Goods market.

Disclamer: This post is purely based on technical analysis and is the opinion of BullBearMkt. Due diligence should be carried out accordingly.
grin grin grin grin grin
I think Honyflour has a resistance at N1.27 or has it transformed to a support?

I noticed some people tried hard to force FBNH close low at N3.84 so that they can enjoy mopping tomorrow. Unfortunately one sharp guy beats their game at the last dying minute (14:28:56).

He should have bought the minimum units of #50,000 required to cause a change in price. 14:28:20 trade of 147,948 unit at 3.84 closes the day.

You have said it all. Positive news filtering in. PMI report, Pension fund policy implementation on equity holding (about N600B here), new forex window (subtle devaluation for foreign investors to come in and exit via the window), World bank and IMF buy-in of EGRP (for example the world bank has pledged to support the power transformation agenda because they think it's a feasible and workable solution), recession forecast to end Q2 and bebelo (in fxuser's voice)

Disclaimer: Random thougths only. It could be the usual bull run in May before pig slaughtering begins. Be guided.

Has anybody here able to place a sell order on NAHCO at N2.90? Current price is N2.88.
Why does it seem everyone is angry on the thread these days? The bulls are back nah. A stock can't rise higher than 5% of its reference price. N2.75 is the ref price for today

We just have to look at where fidson is coming from.
How did they get to the point where turnover and profits were declining? Did investors overreacted and punish the stock with free fall of fidson price? Can we explain why profit went down? Can we identify a particular time when the company turned the corner?.
Can we make a projection into the future based on the available information at our disposal?
These are some of the questions that can guide us if adequately answered and of course those questions should have been answered before the crowd join the queue.
I prefer the M&B route actually but no willing seller.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Manonamission: 11:32am On May 05, 2017
Concerning the discuss on Fidson and its unimpressive audited result, I would like to add that results are not the only yardstick the market uses to evaluate a stock. Information and potential in the foreseeable future is equally important.
I actually procrastinated on a Fidson position when it was trading at about N1. I don't have any insider information but if the FGN has decided to conserve forex and instead opt for local patronage of Pharma companies in the fight against diseases outbreak, then we can expect an improvement in the fortunes of these companies (those with the capacity, qualification or required foreign partnership o). We experienced Lassa last year and now meningitis. Who are the key players in this fight against these outbreaks? Any leads?

The above could be mere ramblings that have no bearing to the happenings in the market.

Oga, please calm down. Anyone should be able to make a projection without being vilified. You should not invest your funds and emotions on a stock on any exchange in the world......that's suicidal.
FBNH constitutes an appreciable portion of my portfolio but comments about it going down to N0.50k can't upset me. It doesn't make any sense for me to lose my cool because of that. Na my papa get FBNH? Abi dem tie my destiny to FBNH? It's up to me to stay alert and know when to buy more or exit.
Live and let live, please
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Manonamission: 11:32pm On May 01, 2017
I don't seem to understand why many here don't understand that there will aways be conflict of opinions between the FA and TA enthusiasts. There is basically no reason to resort to tirade of any kind.
We have well-known supposed pessimists and optimists on this thread. They are all important in the NSEMPA ecosystem.

Bullbearmkt has been contributing in no small way. Teaching TA and giving out picks. His kind can trade Skye, Daar, Japaul etc (may a little exaggeration there) if the charts show positive signs and still make cool money.

SBG04 on the other hand will not look in that direction regardless of volume, triple hammer, red candle etc lol. His kind will consider it crazy and a dangerous play, hence his warnings on diamond, FCMB etc

Is it too difficult for people to understand this and strike a balance between both worlds?

For me, you are both appreciated and needed in this forum without the attacks.

Call it Monkey-Hunting, but I'll still say FBNH, Diamond Bank or both.

It sure has to be monkey-hunting.

Please buy at your own risk.
Corporate governance at FBNH is still nothing to write home about. I hold positions here though.

Chief you have a point. But as we speak, people are buying Transcorp. Let's see how far the panic will last.

I do not have a unit of Transcorp. Just taking notes of every and all news items. They might form the basis of my investment decisions in the future.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Manonamission: 10:02pm On Apr 24, 2017
On Transcorp, SHAREHOLDERS should be wary of profits attributed to "Non-Controlling Interests" which constitutes a large proportion of earned income.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Manonamission: 9:05pm On Apr 24, 2017
I welcome the idea of identifying stocks that are likely to beat the charts and provide superior returns over the current financial year. I tip large companies making significant recovery from previous loss or below par positions. Unfortunately, the Q1 result will be a pointer and is unknown to the majority of market participants until it is released.

STanbic Q1 is mind blowing shocked

The cement companies are reporting improved margins, Wapco and Ashaka. CCNN/Sokoto cement (poor liquidity though) is one to watch.

Flourmill has great potential, if and when its fortunes improve. Food business is serious business. Market share is commendable.

What does 2017 hold for real estate investment? UACPROP is one to watch here.

These are not BUY recommendations just musings
