Here are numbers of companies that will likely pay interim divided in Q2 2017.

9.Dangote sugar (50%)
10.Dangote Flour (50%),
11.Nasco (50%)
Have these ever paid interim dividends? Why do you think they would likely pay?

Edit: I'll give them 1%

Can we guess how much Dangote made from the sale of the noodles unit and its potential impact?
I cant find the info on the rough amount anywhere.
Note 28, page 27 of the Q1,2017 results.

- The head is finally off the body. I cant shout.
- This Etisalat will make Access shareholders smile in the long run.
-Loans are not designed to make borrowers rich , ESPECIALLY by Access bank. A loan from Access is like a guaranteed Cardiac Arrest certificate.
Those who borrowed from access in the past are feeling me. Wigwe no dey hear stories... grin
There are a couple of other banks involved. In fact, the indebtedness to GTB is higher. Also there are laws governing loan recovery. The extent they can go is loan recovery......nothing more. Profit is not the end game. However, assets could be sold to cronies to recover funds. I don't think the regulators will allow a total collapse of the telco. Not good for the industry.

ExLaidback:
This is a big win for the lenders in this case and so reasonably good for their mid to long term stock price. I'm speaking as an outsider.

This is simply because, Etisalat didn't run into a blind spot because of bad profitability or operations per se. It found itself in this bind primarily because it was unlucky to have taken a dollar denominated loan shortly before the dollar was devalued. Right? So the company by and large is profitable - especially now that they no longer have to pay interest on the loan since it has been converted to equity .

So in the interim the lenders have a source of cash flow while they scout around for new buyers (note that they are not likely to hold onto Etisalat since they don't necessarily have the expertise to manage it). They're also likely to sell it at a profit. (since as i said above, I believe that Etisalat is still a profitable company).

The point I'm making in essence is this would have been an entirely different story IF Etisalat's indebtedness was due only to poor management and not unfortunate circumstances.

So the major losers in this deal are the previous owners who've lost hold of the company.

However my take as outlined above only holds if the new owners allow the current management to manage the business without undue interference and so on, unfortunately this is Naija...So I might be wrong
Only the parent company (Etisalat) converted to equity. Other investors are not forthcoming. Mubadala wants out. Nigerian investors group probably don't have money for bailout. Banks are not interested in the equity option, hence the reason for the take over. They want their money back.

The mistake most folks make is that they see a need to promote/defend their stock positions, in other words, Monkey hunt. If you did your proper due diligence, you will be hungry for criticisms because they afford you the opportunity to re-evaluate your position on a stock or at least, draw your attention to red flags you didn't see initially. Regardless of the negative analysis of FBNH, didn't outperform the banking index? So why get upset when the criticisms come? huh huh
I see a lot of unhealthy rivalry and competition on this thread. People forming oracle and king kong or they want to me seen as one. I'm still trying to wrap my head around that. To what end? huh
Lastly, mutual respect is very key to maintaining decorum here. I repeat we are not here to crown a king kong, oracle, oga, guru or what have you here. So let us all be guided

Bros, I'm not sure that info is entirely true. Yes, NBET is disbursing but not clearing all outstanding debts owed. It is a stimulus package. I sincerely hope I'm wrong because I'm loaded here and my mother's prayer prevented me from selling at N1.55 yesterday. grin

All that was left was for me to click SELL at N1.55 when my attention was diverted after I got engaged in a discussion. This happened when I saw the initial bid at N1.66 disappear and price fell to about N1.55.
I have changed my mind about selling now. Tomorrow is another day.

But for real, I just chose to be calm today. Otherwise, I would have called them and vented my displeasure. I was only trying to discourage against concocting stories that can't be verified. The accusations just reminded me of how people see a rich man and just conclude he must be a criminal. Morgan is grossly inefficient.

I tire o. To think that this stock was begging me to save it from the bears at N48 pere huh I think it will go far. Free float is not significant and FO is weighted in the MCSI index so foreign investors might have it in sight.

Valid position here. Our almighty banks, sometimes experience glitches and tell customers, system down. We don't say, our money is being used for FX related tradings etc.
Your head is there grin

System collapse happen every now and then. From NEPA, GSM, Banks, to the Internet. It's not an uncommon issue. Meristem had theirs a few days ago but were efficient enough to restore service asap.

Make una vent anger but don't propound theories that can't be substantiated. Even the human justice system will consider a thief caught in the act innocent until proven otherwise in the court of law. grin

I strongly believe that they use our money and shut us out from gaining access to our account, bro BullBearMkt infact this act is manipulation senior brother.
Ok you suggest we complain to them, the reply they will give, will be that of covering up their act.
I believe that they see and listen to our complains here.
They should better do something, before something will do them.
I hope you don't concoct theories like this against people in real life grin It is a grave sin against God.....to make false accusations which you can't prove. Always give a benefit of doubt. What if you are wrong? You would have succeeded in unjustly tarnishing the image of your victim. False accusations, bearing false witnesses, spreading evil about an individual.......God hates passionately.

This particular pull back is not good for FBN.

Some People will lose billions today, simply because the didn't take profit on time.
This submission is funny. How did you even arrive at 50% loss in two days? How's that possible? Do the maths again and you would realize the pull back is nothing compared to the profit made for early position takers.
A kill was made, some moved on and those that are still there have a reason for staying. grin grin
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Manonamission: 3:03pm On Jun 07, 2017
OBAGADAFFI:
And why do think they are taking profits same time on FBN alone, why not UBA or Access.

FBN is currently doing house cleaning, and until that is complete, it will continue to experience massive volatility.
Bros, what do you expect from a stock that gained for 14 consecutive days? Four of those days were maximum percentage points. Crazy stuff....... You don't expect a pull back?

Been buying gradually and still buying.
the stock has explosive experience
The stock is not ready to go on that 'explosive' journey yet. Best decision was to enjoy the rally that went and then plow back profits to this train. Market timing is impossible but why hang in there when some other stocks couldn't wait to give of their goodies.
Personally, I needed Dangsugar to move before taking position in Dangflour. When I saw the bid at N8.21 for the former, I took position at N4.30 for the latter. Hoping the market retracement won't affect significantly, else...
