This thing called relationship is deeper than folks know. I have long stopped assuming loyalty and fairplay is expected, even in committed relationships

A lady came in the other day to seek a D&C, because she doesnt want the danger of the husband ever finding out by accident the child isnt his

I have attended to a lady who needed an STI fix as she feared her husband would pick it up on his return from travel, and wonder where she got it.

These are people living an obviously affluent lives to suggest money isn't a factor

These are few instances where I am sure loyalty and fairness is far from the corpulent creed of nature. Humans are very manipulative, and the OP is hurt simply because he got to know of her deceit. He is even lucky she showed her disinterest in many other ways. In the real world, he would have no idea as she would be all loving, while doing worse behind his back and that is what most people here live with, happily, without a clue, even most of them writing on this topic

Like someone said, it is what it is. Don't expect loyalty and fairplay in a relationship, that when you get them, it's more like a bonus rather than the norm. There is a saying that what you don't know won't kill you

While this stat is equally both ways, I would expect that around 90% of women, when tested and when they feel it is safe to do so without being found out, would betray their partners, even in committed relationships. Its simply human nature. Sad but true

I do not have a problem with the legality or otherwise of a curfew. And yes, that's what this is, a curfew. It is essentially not a lockdown or forced quarantine but a curfew. The problem with curfew tests with its enforcement. It means our law enforcement agents would have a field day deciding who have breached it or who hasnt

When you escalate such scenarios, there are millions of people that desperately would need help. They may not have enough to survive for 14days. Even rich people amongst us may discover he may need some vital food items after 10 days. Those that would like to go out to buy food and eat, how would the enforcement treat them. Would they find sellers? Would they have enough money to buy vital items

What of those that fall desperately sick within this period. Would they get transportation to seek help. Would anyone come to their aid seeing as there is a curfew?

I do not think we have experienced such a situation before. Personally I would have advocated for a week curfew and thereafter we assess how far it has helped and decide on how to proceed. Most businesses and people have been on hold for upwards of 10 days already and a blanket curfew for another 14 days, even if sensible, would result in a cruel and unusual punishment for a vast number of poor people

We would find that despite the lip service of providing some audio relief materials, most of these poor people would be on their own

I hope this isnt the case with our president

Well said

We should thank nature. For the first time we can be proud of our nasty weather that turns a lot of fresh looking people into dark charcoal like creatures. This is a major factor against local transmission of the virus

Have you noticed that most of our cases are imported? Have you also noticed that of all the contacts the index case had, which would be in hundreds, only one local transmission was recorded to date and even then that one make a quick recovery and may never have known he even had it if not that he was isolated and tested

My take is that the virus would and has met its match in our weather and I do not expect to see the kind of spikes here as seen in Italy and much of the temperate regions

So the governor is right. They have been proactive, frrontally confronted the pandemic and there is absolutely no data to support the need for panic behaviour from the citizens

Now this is real gbege. We should have shut our borders long ago. The population we have and the dire heathcare infrastructures are going to make this particularly difficult.

However According to various studies, people in tropical and polar climates are unlikely to see local transmission of COVID-19 cases. Similarly research have shown that as humidity increases, the viral droplet size is larger and settles out of the air rapidly. We can only hope that this scenario is practical and applicable here, otherwise we are so doomed

First there are a number of reasons to experience this. Luckily you have eliminated much of these, including having done a transvaginal ultrasound and abdominal scan. I also like the fact that your doctor has ruled out hormonal imbalance. So far so good

Second, I guess we should equally eliminate the possibility of an infection by doing an HVS

Finally this might be entirely normal and such cases, usually down to subtle anovulation, tend to normalise over time. Since you plan to get pregnant now, discuss with your doctor on treatment options to get your body back to normal for that procedure

Also eat healthy, exercise and maintain a healthy weight

I think we all agree that Ihedioha did not lose.

Honestly I think that in today's Nigeria it is practically impossible for APC to defeat PDP in any of the 5 South Eastern States; Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo.

We all know this!

What happened was that PDP put in a very awful and terrible defence of their mandate at the tribunal and the appeal court.
They did not defend a very salient issue and that was the deathblow at the SP.

They realised this at the Supreme Court level and they expected the Supreme Court to correct their legal fuccckkk ups for them.
The expected the SP to make a sentimental and politically correct judgment.
You do not realise your mistake at Supreme Court level and then expect them to pity you and help you.

But like the Supreme Court has said time and time again, they are not Father Chrismas.

How do you mean? You would find that the two lower tribunals affirmed Ihedioha's victory and it was actually the SC that found a way to make Uzodinma the winner

Family / Re: Married But I'm Not Connected With My Husband, Hence I'm Depressed by manontree: 6:53am On Feb 23, 2020
A lot of people are going through a lot.

Sadly op isnt alone. There are numerous loveless unions where many are cohabiting as co tenants and call themselves married

From what I have noticed, a lot has to do with pride. Some men can be so playful outside and very gracious but once home, they become something else to their wives, simply because they can and able to get away with anything against them. More like she is their property and afterall what the heck can she do

It is rarer and strange to see a situation orchestrated by the wife. In such situations the woman married a humble, easy going man whom she knows she can virtually get away with even murder. She literally knows he is such a weakling she can do anything to, and he would carry on like it's all good

Yes she was pressured into the marriage. So were millions of others. Yet we are given to change and adjustments. Its human nature. No one wants to go to jail but many find themselves doing time and learn to adjust and be happy for their sake while it lasts. That's human capacity and ability. In your case, for whatever reason you choose to remain bitter, distant and unmallable.

You knew you can't try this with over 90% of the men's folks, even if the same situations of marrying your husband existed. You simply are behaving this way because this man is designed not to act up himself

My advise:

It's no win situation here. I think one reason you aren't into this man is because you do not respect his person and his conduct. He may be intelligent but he may be weak. Yes I said it. A weakling. I suspect he disgusts you because you think he isnt man enough. A man should have taken charge of this marriage from day one and made you respect him and the union making you work to eventually love him

He has more or less handed you the reign of control. Do not throw it to the dogs. A wise woman builds her home. You should be responsible enough and wise enough to know that you should build this home and it is your home. You have the power and control. Few men give women such power. It may not look it, but the vast majority of women are abused, physically and emotionally by their spouses. You are lucky for now. Do not take it for granted

You can create the man of your dreams from this weakling. You have the control. He would only be too willing to listen to you. Talk to him to start acting the way of your dreams. I suspect he would be only too happy to fall in line

Lower your expectations. Do not assume the grass is tastier across the pond. It's a mirage. You are a mum and must act responsibly to yourself , your son and to your marriage. Do not be deceived. Most men would talk up a river, get what they want and look for a younger fresher chic not a once married mum of 1. You won't be exactly the way you looked years ago. Those deceitful words from detractors won't last. Don't make the push for those reasons. They are temporary and would jump faster than you can blink once they are satiated

From all indications, you are tilting more and more to divorce or separate. You are seeking validation for it. Trust me, most don't value what they have until they lose it. I have seen countless single mums that cries to me. "Doc, its been so hard". "I feel lonely". "I never dreamt it would be this way. I feel empty and unhappy". These are words I have heard from single mums

You may be able to achieve happiness by yourself. But the vast majority tend to seek family identity as they age

And before I conclude, it is also your duty to make that man happy. The both of you married yourselves. Duty and responsibilities are Mark's of honour. Its what principled people do. Being a dead beat wife is a dereliction of your principles and people do reap what they sow

Sorry for the long write up

You noticed he winks at your friends and thinks its over

Well men are visual. Always have been

Calm down. The grass is not greener at the other side. Show your husband love, respect and care. Women carry face for supposed wrongs done to them. Talks snobbishly to their man and expects him to act like Jesus christ. Naaa

Make him realise what he is doing is hurting you. If he is sensible he would take corrections. A few years down you would laugh over this

US exposes FG’s plan to pay APC gov $100m from Abacha loot
Published February 21, 2020

Eniola Akinkuotu, Abuja

The United States Department of Justice says the Federal Government led by the President, Maj.Gen Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), is blocking attempts to recover Abacha loot traced to Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu.

The DoJ made the claim in court papers filed before the District Court for the District of Columbia in Washington, Bloomberg reports.

The PUNCH reports that Bagudu, who is a close ally of Buhari and a prominent member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, was indicted by the US Government for helping the late military dictator, Gen. Sani Abacha, to transfer billions of dollars in the mid-90s.

According to documents from the DoJ, Bagudu spent six months in federal detention in Texas while awaiting extradition to the Island of Jersey.

However, before he was handed over to criminal trial in Jersey, he quickly agreed to return $163m to Nigeria and was released on bond to Nigeria, where he was meant to be prosecuted for money laundering.

However, on returning to Nigeria, he was cleared to contest in three different election cycles – once as a senator and twice as governor – all of which he won and now enjoys immunity.

In a report published by Bloomberg, on Friday, it was stated that the US Department of Justice says the Nigerian government is preventing the US from seizing Bagudu’s alleged loot.

“The DoJ also contends that the Nigerian government is hindering US efforts to recover allegedly laundered money it says it’s traced to Bagudu. Buhari’s administration says a 17-year-old agreement entitles Bagudu to the funds and prevents Nigeria from assisting the US, according to recent filings from the District Court for the District of Columbia in Washington,” the report stated.

According to the report, the disagreement may hamper future cooperation between Nigeria and the US to recover state money moved offshore by Abacha, whom Transparency International estimates may have looted as much as $5bn during his 1993-98 rule.

“A commitment by Nigeria to transfer the funds to Kebbi State Governor Abubakar Bagudu appears to undermine Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari’s pledge to quell rampant graft in Africa’s top oil producer,” the report stated.

Neither Bagudu nor a spokesman for the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), responded to requests for comment.

A spokesman for Buhari said the settlement and the litigation were matters for Malami.

A spokesman for the DoJ declined to comment.

Successive Nigerian governments have sought to recoup the money looted by Abacha, who died in office, and have so far repatriated more than $2bn with the cooperation of other countries, according to US court filings.

The DoJ said in a February 3 statement that Bagudu, 58, was part of a network controlled by Abacha that “embezzled, misappropriated and extorted billions from the government of Nigeria.”

Bagudu is the chairman of an influential body of governors representing the ruling All Progressives Congress, Buhari’s party.

“Despite the forfeiture action being initiated following a Nigerian state request in 2012, Buhari’s government now says it can’t assist the US because it’s bound by a settlement Bagudu reached with the administration of then-President Olusegun Obasanjo in 2003, according to the court filings,” the report states.

Under the terms of that accord, which was approved by a UK court, Bagudu returned $163m of allegedly laundered money to the Nigerian authorities, which in exchange dropped all outstanding civil and criminal claims against him “stemming from his involvement in government corruption,” according to a December 23 memorandum opinion by District Judge John D. Bates in Washington D.C.

That meant “Nigeria renounced any interest whatsoever” in Bagudu’s trust assets, including those the US is attempting to recover for the West African nation, the opinion stated.

Bagudu was able to return to Nigeria after concluding the settlement and was elected as a senator in 2009. Six years later, he was voted in as Kebbi’s governor in elections that brought Buhari and his party to power.

After Bagudu successfully sued Nigeria for violating the 2003 settlement, Buhari’s regime reached a new agreement with him in October 2018, according to the court filings.

“That would result in the transfer of ownership of the investment portfolios, worth 141m euros ($155m) to the Nigerian state, which would then pay 98.5 million euros to Bagudu and his affiliates, according to Bates’ December 23 opinion. The funds are currently restrained by the UK at the request of the US,” it added.

Nigeria’s government claims the updated 2018 agreement with the Kebbi governor, which requires court approval in the UK, will “curtail and mitigate its looming exposure” from the judgment in Bagudu’s favor.

Buhari’s administration submitted the 2018 deal to the UK court in September to support its application to unfreeze the assets so they can be sent to Nigeria, according to the opinion. The court has yet to make a decision.

Treat your wife with love, kindness and respect and she would bend over backwards to please you and make you happy

Two, learn to surprise her from time to time and talk, yes, talk. Keep talking to her. Never ignore nor isolate her.

Family / Re: Husband is disappointed that we are having another girl by manontree: 4:24am On Feb 20, 2020
snipesdam:
What is the difference between the boy and girl sperm?

Y or boy sperm:
Swim faster and are able to get to the egg more quickly than the X (female) sperm.
Tend to be smaller.
Are less resilient and less hardy, i.e. they are just more fragile than the X sperm.
Do not live for as long as the female sperm; they have a shorter life expectancy and die off much earlier.
Are more resistant to alkaline, i.e. higher pH, environments. At different times of a woman’s menstrual cycle, the pH of her vagina varies. Y sperm cannot tolerate the acidic environment of the vagina as well as the X sperm do.
X or female sperm:
Do not swim as fast as Y sperm; they are generally slower moving and less mobile.
Are bigger than Y sperm.
Have a longer life span, and are capable of fertilising an egg for a longer period, than Y sperm.
Prefer a lower vaginal pH (acidic) environment.

I like this answer even though you didn't present it properly

Africa is ripe with so much cultural adaptations of the male gender. This is obvious from the way the female are treated as second class gender and the male dominated the social strata. There were times no one bothered to even educate the female children and even the president stated on an international parlance that the women belongs to the "other room"

This dogma and the fact females move on to acquire their husband's identity and subjugated to his whims further documents why there is so much preference for male children

However the science of sex selection is not as straight forward as possible. Several reasons exist for this, not least the ethical issues of advancing knowledge to alter nature and bias against a fellow human being based on mere gender

That said for those interested in sex selection, it is a fact that the man has the X and Y chromosomes meaning if he gives the woman the X, she would produce XX (Female) as women have only the X chromosomes. If he fertilises her with the Y, they would go on to have XY, which is male. In this regard a man is deemed to be the gender determinant

Sounds simple. The body however is so complex that practically there are other factors that come into play other than this. Like you said the PH level of the woman is one. If she is highly acidic the Y chromosome won't survive to get any chance to fertilise the egg, leaving only the X which is stronger and able to survive acidic levels. The inverse is also true

This is a common reason why you see a woman having same gender children like the case here. It is one major reason and NOT the only reason. From experience once the PH level in a woman's follicular fluid is altered through medication, the issue of having numerous same gender children is solved. From experience I said. Some other doctors disagree with this but I know it works

Sadly most of our medical practitioners miss this or do not agree. I stand my ground. Should this poster still wish to have further children, discuss this with your health care provider and point him in this direction. You would thank me later

Crime / Nigerians Jailed In The UK Again by manontree: 10:03pm On Feb 19, 2020
Gang is jailed for up to 44 months each after hacking more than 2,000 BT customer accounts and using the details to set up PayPal profiles to buy luxury goods including Rolexes and TVs worth £385,000

The crime gang pleaded guilty to fraud dating between May 2014 and July 2016

The eight defendants targeted more than 2,000 people across the country

They operated by accessing BT and Paypal accounts using stolen details

An organised crime gang has been sentenced for carrying out a sophisticated fraud by using hacked BT and PayPal accounts to purchase luxury goods including Rolexes and TVs worth £358,000.

The fraudsters targeted more than 2,000 people across the country but focused on the Hampshire and Portsmouth area, the court heard.

They used their ill-gotten gains to purchase luxury goods such as Rolex and Breitling watches, Versace clothes, jewellery, furniture and televisions.

Judge Timothy Mousley QC told the defendants: 'Whilst the financial loss falls to be met by the financial institutions, the impact on those who had their details stolen cannot be under-estimated.

The defendants used their ill-gotten gains to purchase expensive jewelry and watches

'Many of them speak of their heightened levels of anxiety, stress and fear as a result of finding out their accounts had been hacked.'

The eight defendants were sentenced at Portsmouth Crown Court after pleading guilty to fraud offences dating between May 2014 and July 2016.

Michael Forster, prosecuting, explained that they operated by accessing the BT and PayPal accounts using stolen personal details and diverting receipt and delivery messages and emails so that the victims were 'kept in the dark'.

Mr Forster said: 'This was a sophisticated conspiracy to commit fraud which persisted for about two years.

'The personal details of a large number of members of the public, many who were BT or PayPal customers, were obtained by the fraudsters.

'The customers' finances were used to fraudulently order high value goods such as watches, jewellery, televisions as well as more mundane items such as furniture or food.'

The defendants used their ill-gotten gains to purchase expensive jewelry and watches

In a statement read to the court, one victim said he was 'fearful' of making financial transactions and added: 'I remain angry because no-one has the right to have taken the money I have worked hard for.'

Festus Emosivwe, 36, of Portsmouth, who was at the centre of the conspiracy, was jailed for three years and eight months for conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation.

Jailed for the same offence were Chloe Maylott, 27, of Havant, who was sentenced to 16 months and Charles Onwu, 31, of Portsmouth, who was sentenced to three years and seven months.

Also jailed for their part in the conspiracy were Adel Qadir, 35, of Portsmouth, who was sentenced to two years and five months, Molade Fasuyi, 37, of Southsea, who was jailed for two years and Olukayode Adepoju, 40, of Portsmouth, who was sentenced to 19 months.

Victor Ngo, 30, of Portsmouth, was jailed for three years and seven months for the same charge and conspiracy to convert criminal property.

Pinelopi Chatzikonstantinou, 30, of Southsea, was fined £1,000 and a £100 victim surcharge for conspiracy to convert criminal property.

The court heard that Emosivwe was at the centre of the conspiracy and was responsible for obtaining the personal details, placing the orders and arranging deliveries.

A Hampshire Police spokesman said: 'The defendants spoiled themselves with fraudulently purchased Rolex and Breitling watches, Versace clothes, jewellery, furniture and televisions.

'Enquiries carried out by BT uncovered that the suspects had links to Hampshire, at which point our specialist team became involved.'

why are grown adult like this?

.why do men of today marry people that they ordinarily shouldn't? These characters didnt start today. You simply went for looks or body shape only to come complaining when the traits you ignored start choking you

I refuse to believe a woman can hide her traits to a man that dated her for a while. Even the bible told us to test all spirits. If you dated your wife for a while these traits should have been obvious and probably obvious but you ignored them and focused on her beauty and shape

So what now??

Is it really such a big deal to handle such a problem. A wife that you beg for sex and she refuses, is that one a wife? She isnt and for me the punishment is a lifetime of you refusing too. Refusing to oblige any request from her. Refusal to even engage in any form of conversation and even to pick her calls. See, no single person has a monopoly of nastiness. Two can play that game. The house would be so toxic she would beg for peace

So why are grown men of today so weak. It is actually this weakness that makes the women behave with such nastiness towards them. If they know that the retribution for any bad behaviour is severe, no woman would try it
