Na wah.

Our environment is highly polluted, our agricultural produce filled with pesticides and chemicals at highly alarming levels, our foods completely toxic, water nko? Or is it the processed foods that the manufacturers do not really adhere to standards? Then the alcoholic beverages we consume.

We're going to experience a surge in kidney and organ failure among our populace.

But I have one question bothering me, why is it that these things happen mostly to the males in the nolly industry?

Any idea, doctrine, rationale, creed that is fragile to criticism is not worth holding.

Don't insult their religion. Don't cross their redlines which causes you nothing period

I seriously don't understand why u have to insult what they hold dear. I fcking don't understand. If u can't abide by that it means u are uncivilized as fck.

In as much as you may feel you have become "enlightened", it's good for you to realise that you are still a target, a very big one at that for even dating to proclaim that there is no god. Atheists are even more endangered in the North than Christians. Do you think you'll be spared if you were caught up in the midst of a religious riot in Sokoto or Jos or Kano? You don't seem to realise what's going on. Better realize you face a common threat with the Christians, matter of fact, you may be Atheist as it is, but in Nigeria, you are still culturally a Christian. If the line are drawn today, I'll gladly pitch my tent with the Christians.

Now to your Leviticus quote that prescribes death for blasphemy, I agree with you that it's in the Bible, even much more absurd religious laws are rife in Bible. Christianity itself has a verrrrry dark past, let's not even go too far to the old times recorded in the Bible that has and supports blood letting, in our recent civilization, while the State and the Church were fused, the Church committed a lot of atrocious acts, killed anyone who would not proclaim same faith as them, be that as it is, I give it up for christianity for toning down on the violence, I doubt there is presently any violent group that bases it's doctrine on the Bible. I doubt you know of anyone that was killed for insulting Jesus or the Christian doctrine or even outrightly turning apostate.

So my friend, while it's okay for you to split ways with Christianity, I think it's a bit reaching for you to tag present day Christianity with Islam as it relates to the punishment for blasphemy. I'm non-believer by the way.

Thessalonians 3:3

I left Xtianity because I realized it's rubbish.
What do yo expect from a god that was born by a WOMAN and ended, murdered on Cross? Didn't help himself also grin

The entitled punishment for blasphemy in Xtianity as I was forced study by my parents back then is death !!!

anyone who blasphemes the name of the Lord is to be put to death. The entire assembly must stone them. Whether foreigner or native-born, when they blaspheme the Name they are to be put to death.
Leviticus 24:16

Deborah killers used this verse to kill her the way the verse instruct, I think they own a copy of christ papers, bible is full of evil to its followers.

I left religion for you!!! Ath3ism all the way

Before any rotten brain qoute me, see my signature..... grin
Christianity Etc › Fate Of Northern Christians And Other Northern Minorities. by mariovito(op):
With the current events unfolding in our national space, religion wise, a lot of people have renewed the calls for a break up of the union as a means to forestall such provocating circumstances.

This got me wondering, is breaking up Nigeria really the panacea to the religious problems we are facing? If Nigeria breaks up along North and South, what do you think will be the fate of the Christian minority up north? Do you think it'll be safe for them to cohabit with their Muslim counterparts? Picture what they go through while we are still together as a country, imagine what will happen if they're left to themselves or will they abandon their ancestral lands and relocate to the South? On who's bill? My heart truly goes out to the minority groups in the North, they're in for a looooong ride.

Thanks for your unbiased and objective view.

A lot needs to be done, starting from Saudi Arabia since it's the headquarters. Less emphasis needs to be placed on the violent parts of the Al-Quran and the parts that dwell on peace should be preached more.

The Bible also has very violent verses and chapters and books that preach death to non-believers but you'll hardly hear christian preachers dwelling on them these days. Matter of fact, many christians will be surprised to find that those verses are in the Bible because preachers down play them.

At the time these religions came on board, violence, not just religious violence, was common place as modern society had not fully taken shape, so it won't be totally out of place if some vestiges of violence found their way into the scripts of these religions. But those times have passed.

I hope Islam makes that paradigm shift. Doesn't it amaze you that almost any violent group can base their ideology on the Al-Quran?
And from my understanding, most of Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) were defensive wars and even in some verses he preached peaceful coexistence.

As I conclude, this is in a different vein, can you explain to me the idea of Taqiyyah?

OGcartel:
Yeah I agree with your expert opinion on this,I am a Muslim and I die as one,but frankly Muslims worldwide have found it hard to evolve from the centuries of our prophet ((PBUH)an era that was hostile and jungle-like in the affairs of religion, politics, culture and social experiment..and only violence could begets violence in such logical periods,,it's a pity many Muslims and scholars of heritage have continued with these cavemen preaching and mentality, just like you said christains used to be worst in it's first inception to the world,,this generation of christains who don't know anything about their heritage should also know that millions of lives have been lost (burnt, beheaded,etc..) just for not proclaiming Jesus as their Lord and personal savior.."All facts"..but the christains learned to move on to the new world.. while the Muslims were left behind too colonized to balanced most of our outdated doctines,,even the messenger (PBUH) would have wanted it better.,the Muslims under the prophet went to war back then because there were the invalids, the openly oppressed, marginalized and even killed like a normal thing, Jesus learned to turn the other cheek which is a good teaching for the right occasion, Muhammad had to ask permission from God to defend the religion which is logically right for those thinking you don't have to do anything and God will do anything,"think again", also, thinking Islam has always been motivated by violence:Note: Muhammad had only 300 men for his first battle against 10,000 men from Makkah (all facts),, would bloodthirstiness and violence motivate you to such a battle?it's that not a death wish?they(Muslims) were on the run and in hideouts just to get by everyday,so God sending Muhammad to those battle with 300 men still shows (unlike Jesus)he wanted them to also make effrots in defending themselves even when he(God) knew he would still be the one to do it.. that battle for freedom was won and over, Islam is accepted in the society thanks to the prophet though we only won the battle but the war was never over,,it switched, intellectual warfare is the new world war and Muslims and it's scholars should vest up, extremists should dump the cavemen ways and clap back with knowledge..if someone insults your religion or prophet, you have to learn how to rebuttal (i.e know how to say the right things that can salvage the situation) don't feel oppressed and open the zoo because of that.. Islam is and will always be for peace and it had fought it's battle for peace and won,so over a billion Muslims you can never stop Islam) you can bash thses gullible Muslims but Islam is as pure as fresh air; moral of the story- the spirituality, the political structure and socio-cultural aspects and behavior of a religion (Islam,christainity..)are totally apart.as a Muslim, Islam struggles in all except spirituality which is the real peace we talk about..

Did you just go there?

I wouldn't if I was you.

Islam that made it as a rule to marry prepubescent girls?

How old was Aisha when the Prophet took her for wife?

It's also evident in northern nigeria with the penchant northern men have such huge appetites for the poosay of underage girls. Were we not debating the other day at the floor of the national assembly whether to allow marriage of prepubescent girls?

Islam is filled with the most debased ideas.

Now back to your accusations about the church, yes, Roman Catholic Church is riddled with child abuse and paedophilia and I won't hide it. They even find was to protect priests who should be handed over to secular government for prosecution the same way Nigeria police will do anything to protect an erring cop. Christianity has its own faults too. That don't mean I won't speak against Islam, by the way I'm only culturally christian because I'm born in the south, other than that, I long denounced the religion and any other religion for that matter.

These two religions we draw daggers and go at each other's jugular for are not even indigenous to us. They're all tools used to subjugate us as Africans. Imagine what nigeria would have been like if we didn't have any of these religions, don't you think we'll have a more peaceful and sane space?

IPIGSRHYPO:
So it will also be ok to come to the conclusion that Christianity promotes and encourages pedophilia since the church are full of more pedophiles than all other religions combined.

Why I'm not so keen on new taxes is because already, there's huge distrust of government and its policies.

Pension fraud, Grass cutting scandal, Haliburton case, and plenty other instances of theft of the common wealth is rife in our space.

For me, new taxes are just more avenue for govt. functionaries to steal from.

Lets clean our system first, plug those loopholes before pouring more wine in the cask.

hammermcc:
No one has replied my suggestion about compulsory property tax. In Nigeria most people do not pay property tax both for land and house , Once you buy a land and build a house in Nigeria ,it's yours forever, that should not be the case. there must be compulsory property tax. the money will be used to build and maintain roads, street lights, waste removal, etc. Even if the land is empty , the land owner must be paying tax for that land. that will discourage people from fighting over land due to the responsibilities involved. Also, land owners would be encouraged to utilize profit from their land and property , in order to generate profit to maintain the land. For example , a landowner can use their land for agriculture to generate profit.
the bigger the house and amenities and land, the bigger the property tax.

If a land owner or home owner defaults on payment of property tax, the land and house would be seized by the authorities .

Let me give you example, if Michael Jackson's Neverland was in Nigeria, he would not lose it because most Nigerians do not pay income tax, property tax ,sales tax ,etc.

There must also be compulsory insurance for all cars, whether the person is driving the car or not, he or she must pay insurance for that car . that will deter people from buying 10 cars . Also wrongful parking and overloading of vehicles must be heavily fined

we must learn from what other successful countries are doing and do the right thing or we will keep going in circles in the name of backward traditions and culture.
