@kobo its not abt rules or verses in the bible it is abt decorum nd understandin ur role in a society they are shepherds to us the flock as spiritual leaders so it would not make sense for a shepherd to join a group of its flock against another group of its flock. Pastors are also like parents in a home they are supposed to be neutral so that they can mediate sometimes this mayb dificult but it stil wil not take away d fact that a good parent should remain neutral |
I don't understand wat is meant by cosy here but to me Tinubu has so far been the best opposition leader in this dispensation he has had cause to disagree with the govt but weneva d govt makes a positive impact he also commends the govt nd most times has constructively engaged the govt.maybe the broadcast could be misrepresented that was why he was against it nd mayb in the interest of peace I'm not sayin that the gist is true or I know y he made this move but we stil hav to realise that these people can still have good intentions for what they do nd we should not always pass a guilty verdict just bicos they did something against what we expected |
All of u hav spoken well but dat does not mak the pastors action right cos they are supposed to act as the Red Cross in a war situation they are supposed to rise above the level of politics and above all are supposed to be spiritual leaders and interceed even for the man that is not around or was it our protest that removed Abacha? Let's face it God has a purpose for this nation or would it be alright for a pastor to make love to a sister to help her conceive after prayin for her in the name of faith without work. Pastor Niemoller didn't need anyone to talk for him all he had to do was call God for his deliverance so that quote is not necessary |
@princekevo don't u tink u are d one bein naïve is d bible a complete record of happenings in Isreal when Jesus was alive. Who was Barnabas that was released by Pilate instead of Jesus,he was a militant who fought d govt at dat time go into the history of d isrealites then u will know that their wars didn't just start with world war. Now Jesus took on the pharisee he took them up on spiritual matters but remember wen he was arrested they laid all sorts of accusations he never protested. Mayb u are not aware that d Jews expected a messiah to liberate them frm d Romans but Jesus knew his mission so he was not carried away unlike this pastors who hav joined a protest they didn't understand. The pastors should concentrate on their callin nd who says Soyinka isn't a politician or all those in d protest were not politicians, man is a political animal and once u start havin a political view u are ultimately a politician |
@kobo I stil tink u are wrong to say he neglected his duties witout informin anyone about where he was goin, remember we were all told he had pericarduatis nd had gone to Saudi what other declaration do we need. On the issue of protest we quite agree if they had com out to say Enuf is Enuf it wld hav bin Ok but u saw what they ended up doing nd for a pastor to be among them I insist is a pity at most he should organise his protest with his followers in prayer nd fasting |
Watelse were we suppose to expect. If there was no judgement is he not supposed to be accorded as the president as a matter of fact as soon as Mr President returns the AGF should be relieved of his duty as he has shown his incompetence |
@kobo wat law did d President break or can't he go treat himself wen he is sick? The question we need to ask is does the VP needs anyone to tell him dat he is to act on behalf of his president wen he is not around that's y I tink d whole protest was out of place nd for a pastor to find himself dere is a big pity |
Mayb kobojunkie is right mayb the question shld not come up nd dis would be correct if he came out as an individual nd acknowledge that all his members nd assistants don't necessarily share the same view. If he had chosen another issue to protest mayb d ASUU protest d Labour protest or any other that addresses issues dat affect d masses I may understand but dis particular protest did not make any sense to me |
@Odunu is he now to be known also as a politician? If u understood d originating post the question is should pastors also carry placards,nd I think d answer is no because Jesus never joined in a protest against govt neither did he join d guerrilas in his time reason bein that he knew his callin but mayb our Pastors hav started doubtin their callin nd resorting to self help. Their case is not different from christians who go to church nd stil consult spiritualist in a bid to help God |
@CyberG u are only insulting me was it my head we were talkin abt or pastors carryin placards? If u hav nothin sensible to say u can just shut up nd allow intelligent people analyse issues |
@aisha u are mixin up issues if the pastors questioned the leadership of their association lik CAN or leadership within their church no problem. What happened wen Herod beheaded John,Jesus' forerunner even his disciples wanted him to act what abt wen he was asked to pay tax he went ahead and paid even though d taxes were considered wrong by his people the Jews also wen they came to arrest him did he protest instead he performed yet another miracle in their midst, Pls I ask again wen Jesus was here on earth how many times did he rise against any government? |
Jesus never questioned constituted authority he even proclaimed that his kingdom is not here on earth Pastor Bakare can take on other pastors bicos he is a pastor but wit politicians he is out of line so no mata wat people want to say I insist dat he is out of order |
@mbulela I totally disagree hw many times did Jesus lead a protest nd his apostles after him Pastor Bakare should leave politics to the politicians he shld concentrate on winnin souls to christ pastors should be unbiased nd non partisan |
Maybe the pastor thinks that God can't answer his prayers if God didn't chose Yaradua no force could hav placed him there my candid advice to the man of God is that he should go back to his prayers nd leave activism to activist, |
@otukpo the truth is Dora is doin a good job u can't find any evidence but only speculations nd sentiments frm anti Yaradua individuals but permit me 2 giv an evidence that her name is stil intact, the other day she faced d senate on the NTA contract award saga Ayogu Eze had this to say after she gave her account he said she did nothin wrong also consider the way she handled the 3G licencing nd let us all acknowledge this fact if she had been compromised by now they would have brought her down like they did Adenike Grange. Let's all support this woman of substance bicos witout our support she can only do little nd even dat little would be discounted |
A constitution can never be a perfect document but instead gives room for politics to be played while d president exercises discretionary powers off shore the VP can play d politics to ease the president out of office without throwin the nation into chaos so let politicians play politics within d confines of the constitution and stop blaming the constitution for their failures nd ineptitude |
Mkpotu nd Metalgong I share d same views wit u bein in PDP does not make u bad or imply dat u can't deliver democratic dividend Cee Cee all d way nd we pray dat d elections shld not b biased sentimentally nd not only shld d peoples choice but d best man 4 d job who wil tak Anambra to d next level I wish Anambra peaceful elections, But y shld a selfconfessed election rigger be considered at all? Food for thot |
@gentlelegg That someone does not hold the same view with u does not put u in a position to determine the persons level of sanity nd evryone has d freedom to support whoever they want to nd I believ that Soludo is a good candidate for the job nd wit d recent donations is on his way to clinchin d job |
Timehin I don't tink d President went AWOL evryone was aware wen he left for his medical treatment so therefore we can't impeach him 4 bein AWOL as those who shld declare him AWOL hav insisted dat he is not AWOL |
Ubanidare u hit d nail right on d forehead does Soludo hav to be in an oposition party b4 we can trust him Andy Uba is suddenly a saint because d PDP rejeceted him Ngige is also a product of the PDP so who says Soludo a man who made our economy wat it is today |
@blacksta Evil may attract evil but don't 4get that white pap can come out of a black pot nd not all dat glitters is Gold. @slap1 How many of our so called opposition leaders didn't realise their wealth frm d dark days of d military d PDP is also interested in winning free nd square so if they decide to raise 10b naira let that be a lesson to all other mushroom and one man parties we hav in d country |
@CGking For one I know I want him back hale nd hearty all dat has hapend is not his fault weneva he is around he tries his best to solve our problems. |
Let's look @ dis scenario Mr President speaks 2 NTA nd BBC reports his death wat would hav bin our reaction, Mayb chaos. The President has spoken all ur hallucinations nd stupid theories will change nothing. BBC hav put their credibility at stake so y are we worried, |
I think dis is all a charade what do they want 2 achieve, nothing instead Goodluck shld be told dat he does not require any letter 2 act as president as soon as Mr President is unavailable or does d FEC want 2 tel us dat if a neighboring country decides 2 attack us we wil hav 2 wait 4 Mr President |
Y should we complain,I'm sure if they had confirmed d rumor dat he was dead u wld hav called 4 evrybody 2 come out 4 a rally 2 ask d senate 2 replace him. Let's leave BBC their credibility nd integrity is at stake |
he can buy 'L' from 1, obtain 'O' from another, and accept 'VE' from veronica, and if it must be true, do it in church, true love is overflogged, is there anything like untrue love? its not love! and no matter the love, doesnt it always dwindle to tolerance, companionship and compromise, i sound cynical, but please, wake up! |
All i can say is that the man is someones father and no matter what ur fathers position is u cant find it amusing or okay to start divulging all this kind of anlysis and i think that is the respect people close to him and his family are giving him. If the nation is at a stand still i cant blame the president cos im sure that if there is a war situation we wont say d president is ill or out of town or indisposed and allow another country run us down the government as constituted cannot and should not stand still bicos d president is indisposed. We all live by Gods miracle how many of us alive today can really be assured that he would outlive the president even if he were to die tomorrow we dont hold our lives in our hands. |
To catch a big game you must tread cautiously, trust baba go slow to know when best to strike, all those who looted us in the past must answer in one way or the other, EFCC keep up the fight |
where were the elders when Obj was running us down can el-rufai really convince us that Obj is better. He should keep quiet all he wanted is to run the presidency if u doubt read his essay on yaradua, the time he realised they made a mistake was when yaradua asked him to subm,it just three names for appointment el rufai wanted to know to which office the nominees would be for but Yaradua told him to just nominate the three. So el rufai should not deceive us his government was not and will not be better than this administration |
Beauty of politics, do we rejoice that people decamp to AC and turn around to accuse the president when people decamp to the PDP? what the PDP lose in Edo theyl gain somewhere else until all those who thought they were so powerful and invinsible suddenly realise that their game is up. I think it is all about this people positioning themselves either for their own pockets or to truly serve the interest of the people but time will tell |
I dont know how any other person wants to look at it but the president has said the truth and we all know that he is not corrupt, he declared his assets when other leaders were hidin behind the laws of the country to hide their assets declaration and we must not forget this is a democracy for those that havent realised this yet, so one man cannot accuse after legislating and still go ahead to judge. Yaradua has done the right thing by throwing his support behind the removal of the immunity clause because president or not the man has only one vote. |
I think this action is long overdue because of people like Gbenga those of us who want freedom of information bill passed have to think twice. Some times on his programme he just goes off the mark making insinuations the media is not an avenue to disrespect and name call our leaders truly there should be decorum. Let us not forget that Dokpesi hosted the campaign for the upholding of the Uwais recommendations im sure that the president may not have threatened him but instead brought his attention to some rather sore points of the programme which could actually cost the media house its operatiung licence and Dokpesi had to act |
