PoliticsRe: President Jonathan "demotes" Aondoakaa To Minister Of Special Duties by marvix(m): 5:14am On Feb 11, 2010
Goodluck way to go. This is not a demotion just a redeployment and he is stil a full minister and not minister of state and every ministry is important and everyone plays as a team member, funny enough Aondoaka may hav bin pre informed and may hav even suggested it to save face and calm d polity. The young man is only acting and when the president comes back all decisions can be revisited. I think its not fair to insist dat yaradua will not come back cos if ur dad is sick to d point of death and there is a lot of wealth to be inherited u don't just go into a spending spree cos d old man is critically ill you rather hold forte for him and maintain d family till he comes back or is confirmed dead that is when u take full charge and can do as u lik and I kno dat Goodluck is not just a lucky man but more of a Very Wise Man. More grease to ur elbow I wish him all d best
PoliticsRe: Dora Akunyuli Asks Yardua To Step Down! by marvix(m): 1:20am On Feb 05, 2010
Even Yaradua can't be disappointed because d FEC has given him enough time to get well and come back to the office. This kind of things happen to us too sometimes u wake up sick and can't go to work u can call and take permission witout any documentation, you will agree that u are happier with ur boss who allows u to rest and come back witout askin for ur letter takin sick leave or askin 4 a doctors report because u reported malaria talk more of a president. That is why afta Dora and most Ministers hav waited 4d man to come back and he can't then he should write officially informin them that he is ill, for Gods sake is dat a big deal.
Yes Dora has made a bold move by bellin d cat and for this I say welldone madam
PoliticsRe: Dora Akunyuli Asks Yardua To Step Down! by marvix(m): 1:06pm On Feb 04, 2010
@mbulela callin u an educated illiterate is not an insult it was an observation I made frm readin ur comment but if u are slighted I apologise but the truth be told she has made a bold move and I think d time is right
PoliticsRe: Dora Akunyuli Asks Yardua To Step Down! by marvix(m): 6:34am On Feb 04, 2010
@aloy 4get mata Turai has nothin to do in dis situation and stop bein stupid and face issues on d thread
PoliticsRe: Dora Akunyuli Asks Yardua To Step Down! by marvix(m): 5:16am On Feb 04, 2010
@mbulela u are just a naïve and an educated illitreate who does not know and does not know that you don't know. What has she done wrong for 70 days do u think national politics is the kind of nonsense u engage in here. She has to 1st nd foremost giv d president d benefit of doubt and time to recover then she should hav consulted wide b4 comin up with dat memo.
If it took her 70 days so be it better late than never and hot soup is never rushed and a fly on the testicle is not struck with a sledge hammer.
PoliticsRe: Dora Akunyuli Asks Yardua To Step Down! by marvix(m): 4:37am On Feb 04, 2010
There is no reason to castigate Dora this is how it shld b done in a democracy Nigeria is buildin its own democracy.
Like I hav always insisted dis is not abt Yaradua and his love 4 d rule of law. The law did not mandate him to hand over weneva he has an headache and in our constitution the VP has no other role but to take charge once d president is not around that is if d president woke up on a wednesday and has a headache the FEC meetin does not hav to be cancelled the VP just takes over the proceedings.
Dora has made a good move the issue is Jonathan,he presides over d FEC so he can decide that d memo be deliberated and like I hav said b4 d only person or persons who should be worried abt the absence of d president is 1st the VP and then the members of the FEC so if Jonathan does not see a reason y he should take over then who are the NLC or Politicians or Pastors, has Jonathan complained that he is not allowed to run the country have the ministers complain that they can't work as there are pending approvals which the VP cannot approve, so mayb finally they hav gotten to that point and Dora has taken it to the next level by askin the FEC to deliberate on the issue so the question of her resignation does not come in its only cowardice that wld make her resign she has no sins to ask for forgiveness she is on track.
I believe dat Nigerians must be patient and allow them resolve this issue the FEC cannot and should not be stampeded into takin decisions no outsider can be more bereaved than the bereaved
PoliticsRe: So Yardua The President Is Not On Seat!so What! by marvix(m): 10:56pm On Jan 31, 2010
@naijamini the ministers hav their mandates and can work witout supervision lik d president was supervisin them b4.
What we are sayin is dat govt is not a one man show so if he is not around it does not imply dat govt activuties wld grind to a halt as a lot of people want us to believe. They don't understand dat dis is a democracy not d obj kind of democracy or the abacha style but a truly democratic govt.
PoliticsRe: Court Freezes Ibru’s N500bn Bank Accounts by marvix(m): 5:34pm On Jan 31, 2010
@papabrowne u kno nothin or very little abt d banks in Nigeria nd bankin.
I'm sure if Yaradua had been accused of havin dat kind of money in accts all the same pple sayin unbelievable would hav labelled him wit unprintable names witout askin any questions the truth be said all d lootin in this nation in d past 10yrs didn't succeed without the input of bank MDs a good percentage of oil bunkerin in dis country goes thru banks so 500b may not be a big deal after all.
Those askin how they make profits nd meet up other obligations don't understand what d CBN window was about and have not appreciated to what extent the banks went in cookin nd doctorin d books but 4d records wen Oceanic was declarin a 7b profit they actually made a loss of abt dat amount for the economist in dis forum pls explain further what level of doctorin cld achieve dis feat
PoliticsRe: So Yardua The President Is Not On Seat!so What! by marvix(m): 11:36am On Jan 31, 2010
@frankkky u mak a lot of sense naijamini dats not wat we are tryin to say the issue is does d presidents absence greater dan d problem of unemployment, fuel scarcity, power shortage, restiveness in d niger delta or has his absence stopped all d work on d 7point agenda is Goodluck himself complainin dat he is not allowed to work why shld we cry more than d bereaved d ministers say they are stil workin.
The truth be said politicians are just makin a mountain out of a molehill d constitution sought to protect d president by ensurin that he can't be stampeded into takin any decision and the onus is on d Vice President to tell d nation d capability or otherwise of d President he has gotten a lot of things by luck if he is interested in takin ova or tinks Yaradua can't continue he knows d necessary procedure he shld also not b stampeded into d presidency
PoliticsRe: The Truth About Soludo by marvix(m): 10:35am On Jan 31, 2010
@chosen. Soludo was right wen he said d global economic crisis wld not affect us,our prob is not d present global crisis ours hav bin there starin us in d face if d global crisis had affected us Nigeria wld hav bin up 4 sale all the preconsolidation banks wld hav bin swept off d way micro finance banks are failin now d prob we hav wit d economy today is tanks to sanusi nd because of d foundation soludo has laid we shall overcome nd dat is wat sanusi has bin tryin to say and my point is dat it could hav bin worse. Soludo 4 Anambra Solution we nid pple lik him in govt nd PDP to start d cleansin
PoliticsRe: Fashola & Mega Corruption The True Face Of Lagos (part 1) by marvix(m): 4:02am On Jan 31, 2010
This is d problem of dis country, the guys who hav all dis info shld 4ward it to the EFCC nd let them do their job. All BRF fans can c how easy it is to throw mud at public officer, in Nigeria the belif is dat once u hold a position of authority u are a thief I think dis is very unfair to our leaders.
Fashola is definitely doin a good job but then he stil has to be accountable so if issues hav bin raised the gov can release evidence showin d accusations as baseles.
With dis we can appreciate y our president takes his time in doin anythin ensurin dat all due process is followed all those defendin Fashola on dis thread wld hav bin d 1st to call Yaradua all kinds of name for allegations lik dis let us all ask d same questions nd giv our leaders the benefit of doubt and we shld be objective
PoliticsRe: Atiku Should Have Been Endorsed By Obasanjo by marvix(m): 2:58am On Jan 31, 2010
There are a lot of better options in d north Atiku has no standing and should instead be given a space close to Bode in prison
PoliticsRe: Yaradua Scheduled To Return Latest By Next Month by marvix(m): 4:50pm On Jan 29, 2010
What difference will it make when he comes back? What has d rule of law got to do wit his absence? Is his presence or absence going to solve the power problem or the unemployment in the land would his presence have averted the crisis in jos or saved Dipo Dina? The whole nation is pursuin shadows deliberating on his absence. Where is Bakare and the Save Nigeria Group are they going to lead anoda protest over the Jos crisis?,

PoliticsRe: Division Of Nigeria (for Or Against?) : Vote Now! by marvix(m): 8:48am On Jan 21, 2010
Vote No
South South/Edo/Esan North East.
I believe in the youths of this nation that are bein raised the hard way there is actually strength in our diversity.
At an age older than we are America Fought a civil war some wanted to go alone but 2day they are 2geda nd stronger. Up til the 60s there was stil discriminations against the blacks in their midst even today racists stil exist in America but a black man is President.
Even within the divisions people are killing each other even within families brothers kill brothers over land, inheritance, money and what have you.
If Adams can bcom gov of Edo and a Fashola cld emerge in Lagos nd the nation could shoot down the 3rd term agenda with time we wil get it right it may not be in my life time but one day we would surely get there
PoliticsRe: Court Freezes Ibru’s N500bn Bank Accounts by marvix(m): 3:41am On Jan 21, 2010
How did she feel havin 500billion nd refused to retain corpers after workin hard for her bank.
GREED y did she not just inject her personal money she had make to save the bank so Sanusi would hav left her alone 100billion was what Sanusi gave Oceanic.
Jim nd Tony we are waiting No MD shld be allowed to stay 4 more than 4 yrs or shld not take a 2nd term immediately

PoliticsRe: What Is Nigeria's Most Worrisome Problem by marvix(m): 3:02am On Jan 21, 2010
Brazen show of corruption.
Corruption alone could not have brought us this far but the preponderance for corruption, whereelse in d world would a man be placed in a position to handle funds in trust embezzle it and come displaying it from the people he looted and yet the people cheer? Y should a councillor or LGA Chairman who got into office within 1yr hav houses evry where nd his people call him lucky that one day it wil be their turn, we wil destroy ourselves dis way. Y shld we reward wealth that can't be accounted for?
The orientation that one day I wil get there nd do my own is killing this country because one day there wil be no there
PoliticsRe: The Yar Adua In Us by marvix(m): 2:57pm On Jan 20, 2010
@dapse u are right there is truly a yaradua in us all even a dying man would not like it that someone else is taking over his home
PoliticsRe: Cbn Asks Ovia, Elumelu To Quit by marvix(m): 9:51am On Jan 20, 2010
I think that a lot of people on NL are uninformed sentimental and purely anti-govt.
@adconline the CBN is not appointing MDs 4d banks nd the banking sector can't be compared wit d broadcasting sector, if AIT should fail hw many of us wil lose moneies? So u won't expect the regulations to be the same.
PoliticsRe: The Yar Adua In Us by marvix(m): 9:27am On Jan 20, 2010
@hollandis dat is naija 4u u can't make evryone happy he tarrd rds nd now u say there we talk of drainages were there no engineers on the roads we should ask NSE nd COREN to go there verify what u said nd find out which engrs did d job nd sanction them instead of stayin somwere nd collecting dues. Does govt build hotels nd evrybody is entitled to their indulgence and hotels are private initiatives and are a function of the activities that go on in d state.what does the state have to require more hotels cos if hotel biz was going to boom people would site hotels there. The people asked for sharia and the man gave them and its on record that a judgement givn by their sharia court was upturned by a higher court so what is d noise abt. And all that does not show him to be greedy
PoliticsRe: The Yar Adua In Us by marvix(m): 8:13am On Jan 20, 2010
@kobo do u stay in katsina, have you ever been there? Those in katsina would not agree wit u. I know for a fact that he achieved a lot in katsina and it is not fair to say that he didn't achieve anything for 8yrs. Ngige is a hero because he cleared all salary arrears Yaradua did d same in katsina all contracts given in katsina were executed witout any one being abadoned and all existing jobs were also completed I think we shld at least recognise achievements witout bein biased or was Tinubu able to solve all the problems of lagos or do u think Fashola will solve all d problems of lagos in the next 8yrs if allowed to rule. A nation or state is a work in progres nd cannot be said to be completed so take note
PoliticsRe: The Yar Adua In Us by marvix(m): 7:26am On Jan 20, 2010
@lebelabon the man didn't take the job because of his greed instead I believe he took d job in the overall interest of d nation as evident in a lot of his proposed reforms
PoliticsRe: The Yar Adua In Us by marvix(m): 11:35pm On Jan 19, 2010
He is a politician and has played the politics wit xperience. He knew that it could get to this someday that was why he stood his ground on not havin Odili as his Vice and I believe that himself nd his Vice hav a very good understandin. Its actually in our culture if ur father were dying would u be in a hurry to start administering the house? Pls Nlanders let's allow the leaders sort themselves
PoliticsRe: Cbn Asks Ovia, Elumelu To Quit by marvix(m): 11:18pm On Jan 19, 2010
A bank can and should never be a one man show and there is nothin abt dis policy bein a northern or islamic agenda. For evry 1naira a shareholder has depositors hav 20naira the banking industry cannot be allowed to be run like some peoples personal estate because it isn't. Proudlynaija in a company lik a bank the shareholders would stil choose their MDs what this new policy tries to achieve is to ensure that those who floated the bank does not remain as MDs in perpetuity.Even d term in my opinion is too long maybe a single tenure of 5yrs or 2terms of 3yrs should do if u own the bank u can remain as Chairman of d board 4 as long as u want
PoliticsRe: Nbc Stops Bakare’s Live Broadcast by marvix(m): 12:30am On Jan 19, 2010
What is all this talk abt freedom of speech, would we have permitted Boko Haram access to the media to incite people but then there is a body empowered by law to determine a potential incitin speech and they hold d discretion to identify inciting or harmful speeches so if they rule that the pastors speech isn't safe so it has to be and that is what d rule of law means not dat we can do whatever we like
PoliticsRe: Nbc Stops Bakare’s Live Broadcast by marvix(m): 12:21am On Jan 19, 2010
I strongly believe that Pastor Tunde Bakare has mixed it all up and made a mockery of his position as a church leader to openly admit that prayers and fasting can't solve our problems he should just close his church resign as a pastor and go ahead marching, does he even realise what he is saying that what God could not solve for him thru prayers he can solve it by marching on the street what a shame. I am disappoibted in his speech it was just long and made no sense at all but just shows that he has been hungary for attention and here is another opportunity at cheap popularity go ahead with ur march if u think that its by ur knowledge nd noise that u can chabge Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: Yar’adua’s Broadcast ,activates Section 145 Of The 1999 Constitution. by marvix(m): 11:41pm On Jan 18, 2010
What are u people talkin abt? Cab we take Panadol for another man's headache? Has Goodluck complained that the absence of the president has made him less powerful? All the FEC meetings he has presided over has anyone reported that decisions taken there are not binding on them? Who is Falana representing in court? They should stop all this charade the only role the VP has under our constitution is to take charge in the absence of the president. All those calling for the military I say God forbid
PoliticsRe: Should A Pastor (tunde Bakare) Join To Carry Placards? by marvix(m): 2:15am On Jan 18, 2010
@eyesonyou yes christians yes the pastors can encourage their members when Nathan went to David did he mobilise people to go and question the king he sought his audience got it and passed across Gods message nd left that's d pastors role pray for peace in the land Bishop Desmond Tutu fought against apartheid then all southafricans and indeed africans fought against it but after independence has Desmond been in the news pushin for reforms or can u tell me the Bishops political party? I'm sure that at election time all contestants can approach him for blessings
PoliticsRe: Should A Pastor (tunde Bakare) Join To Carry Placards? by marvix(m): 2:03am On Jan 18, 2010
I didn't say parents should spare the rod I said they should be neutral that is they should be like Judges in court are not expected to take sides God didn't take sides with Abel he pronounced judgement just like he did in the case of Adam nd Eve in the garden of eden. Paul didn't atleast lead a political protest nd did I say a pastor should not have a political view all I said was that in my opinion it was not right for him to be on the street protesting in a political protest. About elderstatesmen not just anybody assumes dat role take a look at Mandela wen the issue of Mbeki vs Zuma came up can u tell me as a matter of fact on whose side Mandela was. He stood for Justice
PoliticsRe: Should A Pastor (tunde Bakare) Join To Carry Placards? by marvix(m): 1:36am On Jan 18, 2010
@kobo if a parent takes sides in their children squabbles its wrong it doesn't matter if we all do it but it is wrong bicos d child who is wrong wil find it dificult to take correction also Paul didn't hold a political view strong enough to hav made him record in the bible pls don't bring that in pastors should realise their position in the society. Has it never occured to u that we really don't have elder statesmen in this country nd dat maybe at the root of our problems in this country
