Sixfeetbelle: It ceases to be a gift the minute you expect something from it.
That blind guy issue you raised, some people have already forgotten they gave him that #50 even if you outed the fraudster in their very before. They won't collect it back. my point exactly, he was expecting something from it and the girl didn't give, and she was aware he was expecting something from her, after she got what she want, she blocked him, why didn't she block him before he gave her the phone? therefore he has the right co collect it back shikena. |

9jaRealist:

When you find yourself in a hole, quit digging....
Of course, giving N50 to a “blind” (even one pretending to be “crippled” or the so-called “corporate” ones one sees these days) is a GIFT. Nobody has ever been imprisoned or suffered any penalty for not giving a beggar money. In fact, going by how stingy you are sounding here, I am reasonably certain that you have ignore your share of beggars on the streets. And, heck no, if the beggar suddenly starts seeing or running, I would NEVER EVER run after them for the N50 that I gifted them - because I ONLY GIVE WHAT I CAN AFFORD TO GIVE!!
Anyway, I see that you are moving into another area and making this effectively into a “contract” between a “John” (that is, a prostitute’s client) and his prostitute, but that’s entirely BASED ON ASSUMPTIONS PULLED OUT OF THE AIR, because the OP could not have been clearer that they were ALREADY “dating for close to two months”. Accordingly, the phone was NEVER a condition (or consideration, to use the language of legal contracts) for a relationship. The mugu (to use your own words) foolishly made a “gift” that HE COULDN’T AFFORD TO GIVE!
PS: Btw, pretending to make a “gift” when really expecting something in return is the real 419. > like I said comprehension is a major problem for most people speaking the language, will you call the food your parents give you a "gift"? How can you call giving a begger money a "gift", you can give something to someone who asked or who did not ask, that you give out something of an object of value does not automatically classify it has a gift, don't people beg for "loans", does giving out a loan because someone begged for it classified it has loan? You asked me for something and I gave it out to you based on our relationship later you reneged immediately on the relationship, if I want I collect what I gave you based on the relationship, be you a friend, associate, brother, sister, wife, girlfriend or husband. Am sure you can read the part he said he bought the phone for her as a medium of communication between them to chat etc, if that medium of communication breaks down, I have to get back the phone cos it's not a gift rather. |

Dude, English is not that difficult to understand... The reason I won’t wail like some of you is that I don’t give “gifts” I cannot afford.
PS: Btw, you cannot be “turned” into a mugu if you’re not already one. > comprehension is a major problem with people who assume they understand Grammar. I bet you read the part he said, she asked for it,will you call giving a begger 50 naira a gift? Since you can afford it? Will you not go back and get your 50 naira back when you give it to someone who claims to be blind and you find out he has a panoramic view in his eyes? Is that not obtaining by trick? 419. Please let's stop this egocentric thing just to satisfy the opposite sex, I purely understand the part of a gift is a gift u said.. Once uv gift someone something don't expect anything in return, but in this case the guy was expecting something in return and the girl renegade on their "contract". She breeched the agreement and he made his recovery nothing wrong. |

Crayfish09: Well, I wonder who to believe. We saw sellers IN SOUTHERN NIGERIA complaining during interviews and calling on the FG to intervene.
The FFK that you are calling irrelevant was THE SAME PERSON THAT SAID THE NORTH CAN'T HURT THEM WITH BLOCKADES LESS THAN A WEEK AGO. Now he does not represent you.
Also, FFK also said he was speaking on behalf of Yoruba leaders, INCLUDING SUNDAY IGBOHO. Are you also going to disown him.
As for the eggs that you are talking about, can you tell me what those chickens eat?
Keep fooling yourself. The real leaders have felt the heat, and they have come to beg for mercy most maize the chicken feed on in the south are either imported or grown in the south, it's a little % that comes from the north for animal feeds #fact. FFK is not speaking on behalf of Yoruba leaders, how can you call yourself a leader when you don't have followers? FFK cannot win councilor in his own ward in ìfẹ́ #fact. He speaks for no one in Yoruba land, he is only trying to seek popularity. No one I repeat no one in the southwest cared about the blockade of if you don't know we are already used to seasonal scarcity of tomatoes, onions except for beef which are the major commodities coming from the north to the southwest, if the want to, they can keep it, there are imported tin tomatoes, only thing we will miss is onions, and as for beef? We will just substitute it with our goat meats, fish, chicken and other frozen foods... Point is we don't care.... They can keep it.. Trust me it's their loss. |

9jaRealist: A gift is a gift... Once given, we don’t want to hear about it.
Typical Nigerian men always whining about spending money.... Dude, if you could not afford it, you should never have given it.
Nothing more tedious than men who need money to get a girl.... In the meantime, you’ve enjoyed having a “girlfriend” for 2 months.
GET OVER IT AND MOVE THE EFF ON! At the end of the day, you’ll discover it’s for the BEST anyway. > it's your type that whine in the corner crying over a girl while saying you are a strong man, a gift is a gift, when you gift a 419 man a gift..and you find out you ve been tricked, then come out with your alpha chest and be saying a gift is a gift, you lots need to date other girls from other climes, our Nigerian girls are way beyond pluto when it comes to conning a guy, you know you not interested so why do you have to tell him about your woes, tell him yes, you agree to date him, only for him to buy you a phone and you blocked him with a phone he bought for you with his hard earned money? That's sheer wickedness and and it's evil, deception, am glad he got his phone back, let's call a spade a spade do that the society will be better. |

But why can't Nigerian Government seek international help, coalition forces.. Like it was done in Iraq and Syria to flush out boko Haram once and for all, we don't have the technology, we don't av the man power, why can't we just ask for help, this is crime against humanity, what are we doing? Where our forces were exposed was in Mali, French forces had to come in and subdue this people there, let's ask for help, nothing wrong in asking for help, it doesn't make us weaker, the USA asked for help from the French against the British army, the British army asked for help from the USA against the German forces, the French asked for help from the British against the German forces, all those who asked for help won, only those that felt superior lost, Japanese, German etc... We don't need to grandstand.. Let's ask for help it's getting worse right now.. |

QuotaSystem: It is pure wickedness to be peddling this false narrative online while your people in the real world were lamenting just a few days of the blockade.
How about a true, factual perspective from a team of 7 professional, reputable southern journalists from an independent southern newspaper? Check out Ibadan in particular.
See them... Oga in our language they say it was something the hen was eating before corn came, I hope you are aware corn is not indigenous to us here in Africa, and the hen has ever been existing in Africa. Point is in the south we don't live by beef, tomatoes and onions alone, you can keep it we have enough alternatives, those ones can be expensive but you can't take our garri away from us, our vegetables, our fish, our eggs, our chicken, goats, bush meats of different kind, you can't, it's not possible keep your food nobody send bello message, just leave the forest, sell one or two of your cows buy a land and turn it to a ranch.. It's not rocket science, we will sell land for you so far you are peaceful. BTW Oga bello who or when will the federal government compensate the farmers from middle belt down to south? |

Keep fooling yourself. The real leaders have felt the heat, and they have come to beg for mercy the main place you get chicken feeds is in OYO state, you have feed mills scattered everywhere, the source of majority of their maize is still from the south and Benin Republic #fact, what they get from the north is a supplement... I know about that business well so don't go there. Who appoint Sunday ighoho as Yoruba leader? When does been an activist makes you a leader or a group? Because he did a photo opps with the popular guy in town dies that means Sunday sent FFK to go and beg anyone? Tomorrow Sunday will come and say I didn't send you any message, Femi Fani Kayode is as irrelevant as kemi olunloyo... Because people read their stories does not mean they take them seriously, to most they are jesters, comic reliefs, always seeking relevance, and guess what both are just spoilt brats opportune by birth nothing more. |

Look at how humble he has become, biting his words and begging on behalf of the west. get a life he is irrelevant.. We ve said it before and we going to say it again keep you onions, tomatoes and beef, we have other things we eat... Most homes in the south now goes on indomine and egg, even before the blockade, we just showed you guys how irrelevant you are, Yahya Bello is an accidental Governor, FFK has no political support even in his own family house, he is a non entity, both are just opportunistic individuals seeking relevance, or how can you explain a whole governor coming out to say FFK is now in APC and FFK came out to say he is not... Just two weeks later both are going to see the president who even refused to see them, they met his chief of staff to complain on something that is none of their business, shameless duos. |

Juliusmalema: Arrant nonsense...Whether excess or scarcity, stop bringing all these Tomatoes and onions gibberish here.
If you like fill a container with tomato and say it is #150..
So that tomato is #200 and it is in excess, is the reason behind bandits clubbing in north and Boko Haram always having night vigils in borno state?
Is it because that basket for disposing refuse is #200 is the reason behind cannibals and dirty ruminants roaming the forest in the name of feeding different sizes of infected cows?
You go about glorifying nonsense, so since the tomato is #200 and in excess whether scarce, I should travel to Kano to buy it because ripe tomatoes are #200.
Next full basket of onions will be displayed and tag it #30 naira.... because bandits are hoarding onions
Maybe other countries of the world buying fresh tomatoes at different quantities and different prizes should have died or start travelling down to Kano because one dustbin of tomato displayed by one Abdulazeez is #200 naira.. and I'm excess. you don't understand sarcasm right? |
Politics › Re: Blockade: Meat Scarcity, High Food Prices Persist In Lagos, Ibadan, Others by masseratti: 3:54pm On Mar 03, 2021 |
festacman: LESSON: Every state and region in Nigeria should pay attention to agricultural development. This strike exposed the good gap. Imagine what a drought situation in the North would do to agricultural products availability in the rest of Nigeria. OPPORTUNITIES: SE, SW and SS should exploit its agricultural and marine resources to the full for food security and employment. There is no reason why poultry and fishery products should not be competing with beef. THREATS: This deliberate food blockade by Northern agricultural product traders is an unfortunate precedence that might be used to justify a lot of things that will shake the unity of Nigeria in future. The non-intervention of FG is a failure of government because if Niger Delta militants decides to protest the allocation of oil wells in South South to Northerners, it will be justified. FG should intervene before irreversible damage is done. REALITY: Whoever is aggrieved has the right to show his grievance. The losses during EndSars protests and the recent bloody fallout of market ledership problem in Oyo State market provided an opportunity for Northern agricultural products traders to make a point. They have made their point that but like EndSars protest organizers, they are overstretching the show of grievance into act of sabotage and punishment with far-reaching consequences. MISTAKE: It is a mistake for agricultural products traders to make its strike action appear like protest in support of excesses of Fulani herdsmen is a big mistake. Traders issue and herdsmen issue are two different things. northern traders has no point to make, shasha market has nothing to do with leadership, both sides had their loses, endsars... Southern people had much more loss than northerners, no one made loss than tinubu in Lagos during endsars, let's call a spade a spade. |

seborrhic: There was a time, about 3-4years or so ago, when tomatoes were not only very expensive, but even so scarce;it was that year I knew tomatoes were also grown in the Southwest with their own breed. Though not as tasty as that from the North, but many people had to make do with that breed of Swestern tomatoes. When push comes to shove, there would always be an alternative because the entire South and the middle Belt are thick in the rainforest zones, and this is always the best kind of climate for food crops and even animals. It's just that the ready availability of these foodstuffs from the North has not made people in other zones to explore the vast potentials of their lands. what made the difference was that successive military regimes gave away alot of fertilizers to the northerners than the farmers in the south, the tomatoes from the North is not even a Nigerian breed, it was introduced in the 80s,tomatoes is everywhere in the southwest, we hardly buy tomatoes when I was young, simply go into the garden pluck some and you are good to go. Onions is a different case tho. |
