Strong feminist argument I have heard in while with few cursing or swearing. I for one detest feminist i call them feminazis sometime, not because of what they are fighting, but the way they ones i have encountered are fighting it. Truth be told, I can never understand what its like to to be a woman in a male dominated world, but I can understand what it's like to be in a white dominated world, where your face discrimination because of being black and African. That's why I can relate to some extent plight of the female gender. Moreover after seeing all this heated conversation on line. I look at the world around me, and the irony is that majority of women due to the constraints of nature and their outlook towards life and each other, are their own undoing. 1. I have this notion that MAJORITY of women out there want to enjoy the benefits of gender equality but few are willing to bear the burden and responsibility that comes with it. Very few women are willing to work hard and build their fortune, they love to seek the easy way out and prefer to be dependant on men. Very few women would love to be in a relationship were they are seen as lead providers and will not even consider dating or marry someone of a lower class. Eg. Every now and then women hit on me, mainly because of the percieved security they believe I will bring them, seeing me as a ladder to go up in class, instead of working their arse of, this specie of women make 80% of the women gender. How do they expect to be taking seriously. 2. Women psychologically are tied to men, they look up to men for the definition of beauty and fulfilment of some crucial desires. They display this trait by going to bizarre extra miles to feel beautiful not for them self but for men. Their self esteem been tied to something that depreciates with time. The sad part is they can't help it because that's what by default we men are wired to appreciate, just like by default women appreciate some who will give them a sense of security (financial and emotional). They feel incomplete and desperate when they are at their prime and are yet to married. This dependence caused by nature, puts them in a disadvantaged position. 3. A trend I have discovered lately is that majority of women have a twisted sense of gender equality they see it as been synonymous to bitchy, stubborn, aggressive, overbearing controlling, and domineering. They tend to see every contact with men as a battle for superiority, they can go to any length to try to prove an unnecessary point, just to prove that they are strong and equal to men. Most of them don't even know what they are fighting for, they sometimes approach this fight with pent up anger caused by their past faulty and shaky relationship with men. Therefore, such women are rarely taking seriously in the society, especially by their male counterparts. In summary, I believe in equal rights, but I think one of the real problem facing gender equality is not just the society, men or the law, but women them self, their psychological make up and the way they handle the rights they've gotten so far. |
Toshmann is making very strong valid argument . 99cent I can understand the angle you are coming from... the truth is that just like how blacks face discrimination around the world, women are also suppressed but not in most cases by the law but by the SOCIETY, . The irony is that men and WOMEN make up this same society, and in most cases the society is more stronger than the law. Feminazis your enemy is not men or the law, but the SOCIETY. |

toshmann: Ok, I forgot. ItsModella: yay!! I'll take Adaobi along with meLOl epic, U don denounce the fight for gender equality because of 2 Disney tickets, women rights movt still have a long way to go, . toshmann you try, you took down a feminist, with one wannabe feminist with just 2 disney tickets. You too much |
Feminist or feminism I detest because I think most time they are hypocritical, emotional and illogical, I see them as women who wish they were men. Moreover fighting for the fundamental human rights of women in a society that oppresses them is something I support. To my knowledge Nigeria's constitution do not oppress women. And till tomorrow men and women cannot be equal. I battled one of them here https://www.nairaland.com/1284502/men-women-not-equals-briggs |

190: im been attracted to several women at the same timehow did you handle it, and decide on the right one. How do one avoid cheating in marriage or a relationship? |
swtchicgurl: When u're attracted to two or more persons at the same time, then something is wrong. It simply means you don't know what you want and you can't prioritize your needs. That's the weird part, I know what I want.... the 5 of them have my dream quality at varying degrees... I really agree with you with the break up part... I wouldn't want that to happen to me or cause someone to experience such because of me. Thanks for your input "sweet chic girl" |
Uyi Iredia: Hello. How are you doing ?I will definitely go get the book. Glad to know u are going through the same thing., how did you choose the right one?... thanks man. donroxy: It is all about being determined, committed and objective ------Having some morals and manners,core-values,inner conviction and zeal that I have a wife @home and she is my wife and my life---despite her shortcomings (No man is perfect) !!!Donroxy I by default see my self as a determined, committed and objective person.... but the last thread about a man who had an emotional affairs and the comments that followed, made me ponder on this issue... maybe I need to work on my mind again. You are on point with this statement "Real man is one who can stand his ground on his core value.".. @Slide waxie you gave testimony that was serious... |
Hello Guys I intend to enter a committed relationship soon and stop been on the sidelines, courtesy my parents reminding me I should soon start getting ready. But I have one weakness I am easily attracted to different women at once and I easily get tired of a particular lady after a short while. Currently there are 5 ladies, 2 younger and 3 older than me, very beautiful in their own way and quite intelligent... i like the 5 of them in different ways. I am not that extremely good looking, Rich or have the best of character irrespective of this 4 of them is giving me strong positive signals, making it hard to choose whom to pursue to start a relationsip with the 5th is give me signal but not so strong. Looking at threads here, I know cheating is a big deal... Given the havoc it can wreck in a relationship and i for one detest it. I really don't want to enter a relationship and break a lady's heart by cheating, or dumping her with no solid reason. I believe in treating a lady right, the way I want someone to treat my sister, treating her as my queen, my one and only with love care and respect.. with a razor sharp like focus with no side chick distracting me from her... How do one avoid cheating in marriage or a relationship? Have you ever been attracted to more than one person how did you handle it, and decide on the right one? Am I going through a phase that will pass away with time? Should i wait till i am ready to really commit Thanks in advance for your thoughtful responses. #Matthew Briggs |
@op school is overrated. Glad you discovered your passion on time. The greatest mistake now, is to never follow it. I can testify to the benefit of following one's passion. I finished sec sch... @ 14 , then went on to purse my passion and by 17 I worked in a company where I earned higher than even my manager who was a graduate, by 20 got a job offer to be paid 400k per month to do what i do best but turned it down to build my own company. I am glad with my progress so far even when I see my mate's as Msc holders. Tho my negligence toward education was by chance (couldn't get admission for many years) but it taught me a great deal in life. Till today I thank God for not giving me admission... I even got one atlast but am currently thinking of dropping out... Back to you Op...You are not young to start up... education can come much later maybe around 20 if things are not going according to plan. I urge you to follow you dream... but as you do so increase your knowledge base by the side, read a lot of books relating to business expand your knowledge .. resesrch on topics that interest you.. for example I have loads of MBA books in my library even tho i never been in an MBA class courtesy the internet. By the way before you take that loan, make sure you have a rock solid business plan and a well defined strategy., Also get yourself a mentor fast. -Follow your heart, it knows what's right for you.- Steve Jobs. |

I am impressed by this initiative, and the progress, that's been made so far. Looking forward to the next call for assistance, hope to contribute as much as I can financially. Keep up the good work. For those of you that detest giving tithe to the Private jet riding pastors. This is a very good avenue to still touch lives and shake the heavens. |
@Op. I wish you write your story into a book. And get it published. Interesting READ. It can even be developed into a potential Tv series also. |
Chimamanda is an exceptional writer, she's always on point. I wish most women understand what gender equality truly is... 1. Men and Women are not equals:- Most feminist I encounter are well versed about gender equality and they argue that men and women are equal, especially when it comes to intelligence and given that we are in a dispensation where what decides superiority is no longer physical strength but intelligence. They believe based on this, they should be given equal opportunity, privilege and standing with men. The propagation of this premise has been a major hindrance to the snail like success of gender equality. It is to be noted, that for two things to be equal they most share the same characteristics. Therefore this premise holds no water because of the wide difference in the biological make up and type of intelligence exhibited by both genders. I think a better premise should be "Yes Men and Women are different but are both humans and as such women are entitled to their fundamental human rights, therefore should receive equal treatment unless there is a sound biological reason for a different treatment". This is what true Gender equality proposes … "excerpts from Wikipedia". But on a closer look, this definition harbors a clause which is "unless there is a sound biological reason for a different treatment". This in my perspective has been the major bone of contention from both sides. Because in what scenario or occurrences should females be given unequal treatment due to a biological reasons. Now it is left women to engage intelligently with the world why there is no biological reason why they should be treated in certain manner in a given scenario, and fight against policies from this perspective instead of fighting their cause with false ideologies such as "Men and women are equal , What a man can do a woman can do better, Women more are intelligent that men", type of arguments, in general ideologies that have a an aggressive undertone. This leads me to my next truth excerpt from- https://www.nairaland.com/1284502/men-women-not-equals-briggs |
My biggest fear is Amnesia... forgetting everything i have ever Known. Every knowledge I have ever acquired with my blood and sweat. That scares me so much. Even more than death. Plus the fear of not making heaven |
In addition to the Op's list - Register a company and own your own business even tho you might be working for someone. - Be married or in a serious relationship heading towards that direction, your playing days should be over - Join a political party or a be part of professional union - Have a Mentee... it's time you start mentoring and transferring knowledge to the next generation. - Already have a clear understanding Of your purpose on earth... - At least must have experienced or Given great sex. By 35 one must have spent Roughly half of his/his years on earth. Make the remaining 35 years count. #Matthew Briggs |
coogar: he was a man when he got preggers, no? on a more serious note, do you really think women are "stronger" than men. take a deep breath and answer the question. think of those misty morning your principal went on a caning spree in your high school with the boys taking their lashings without a wince and the girls screaming like they stopped a bullet with their buttocks.....This thread was not started to empathize the supremacy, superiority or strength of one gender over another but to correct ideologies and expose hard truths to aid women fight for there right. It's a fact the average man is physically stronger than the average woman. But also women are more emotionally intelligent than men. Both genders I think basically compliment each other...Just my thoughts Sir. So we don't start another battle of the sexes. |
baby_123: A man's perspective is not objective or pragmatic. It is clearly biased. Look from a woman's perspective as a man. Get to put yourself in their shoes if that is possible. Which we obviously know is not.LOL... Biased or Unbiased... My opinions was from a man who was at least from his perspective objective and pragmatic with his observations and conclusion |
Coogar is seriously cracking me up with laughter... thanks to cougar I now know what blue spheres mean via Google search. |

baby_123: Sperm already created by your body? This is like me claiming credit for producing spit. When you can stand the pain of a tear from your an*us to your scrotum, and all associated discomforts of pregnancy, come back and talk about strength.Baby_123 womanly wiles indeed , I like Your style... Note I never proclaimed my argument as super intelligent... secondly it is also very clear it is from a man... therefore I am right to say it's from a man's perspective hence it was pragmatic and objective. |
baby_123: You are welcome, but in your naturally biased mind I am "aggressive and other choice words" but you are being "pragmatic etc", because you encountered a woman with a different and valid point of view. Open your mind. It was wonderful exposing you to other opinions.I don't have an unfair preconceived opinion like you stated. And people like me fan the flames of reality and objectivity in our own little way... helping to sway ideals we think might help in your fight. Yes its also wonderful Exposing and getting you to see things from a man's perspective. ![]() |
esere826: Interestingly, i get and suuport both the Op's point and yours tooI agree with you observation. Both point views can work hand In hand I.e my objective and pragmatic view plus her passionate and aggressive view. Baby_123 I am not the enemy the fabric of the society is. |
