Are you trying to hold brief for him, he reported for duty abt 10.00am, had this air of arrogance about him and unapproachable, wonder if he could crack one simple calculus we did in our early years in school. Yes these doctors overrate themselves. I opted out of medicine for engineering cos I thought it was too soft a challenge. Now all I hear is how doctors sweated to go through school and as such deserve heavens. Take a statistic on this forum and the print media what the citizenry you serve perceive of your actions. Talk of statistics!!!. The people have spoken the doctors have carried the strike too far and what ever they get is blood money on their hands. They should come out and apologise for all the unnecessary deaths that will be a beginning process. Still very mad at y'all
you call 220k for a resident doctor heaven?
i shiver to imagine you idea of hell.
the single question i posed earlier has still not been addressed;having had a publicly acknowledged agreement with the govt, which the govt has the effontery and rascality to disregard, what options were left to the doctors?
how good is a govt that cannot keep its word?
that is the crux of the matter.

INTRODUCING 'WITH MY KOKORO EYES'

Dear Nairalanders,

As we promised in our strategy towards adequately and richly covering the forthcoming elections on Nairaland, we are introducing a thread called 'With my Korokoro eyes'. On this thread, you will be discussing what happened in your polling booths/areas. To give credibility to your report, please endeavour to back them up with pictures where possible. Also, don't forget to mention the area.

We Mods are also on hand to guard the thread, to prevent it from being hijacked.

The thread has been started but will be opened for general discussion a day to election. It will also be stickied immediately. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-633298.0.html

Be prepared!

Thanks.
Jarus, i hear we are not allowed to go to the polling booths with cameras.

Let answer your question from a personal experience I had at Alimosho when I took my wife there for an X-ray session, when her turn came up after a six hour wait ( we were there by 5.30pm ) the doctor called up there roll, I said a thank you to him and in reply he said don't thank me. I was puzzled at his response cos i expected a better response from a gentle man of the profession (guess all manner of characters have ended up there with all this attitude on display). But a six hour wait and we were the first on call. It beats my imagination. Loafing is really an understatement. Excuse the harsh language.
sir,
you application of statistics is awe inspiring.
on account of your dealing with one doctor, you have branded over a hundred thousand others loafers?
kindly let me know about your use of other govt services and govt workers.
Health › Re: Lagos Doctors Suspend Strike by mbulela: 2:14pm On Mar 28, 2011
forget who is for or against doctors.
kindly suggest what the doctors should have done when the govt refused to keep their word and honour a publicly announced agreement.
pls no insults, just simple suggestions.

all these arguments are a bit redundant.
the issue is if MI knew he was soo poor at freestyling that he could barely sound coherent, why bother to show up?
why disgrace yourself like that?
even if he was paid to appear, could he not return the cheque?
the embarrasment he and Ice prince caused themselves was inexcusable.

Politics › Re: Bride Abandons Wedding For Nnpc Test? (PIX) by mbulela: 9:28am On Mar 28, 2011
This bride matter was not even the worst case.
what of nursing mothers who travelled with their nannies an babies from as far as Lagos to write a test in lagos that did not start till 5pm while accreditation was from 11am?
NNPC and Philips did not try at all.
this was a test o!
not interview!
why send people from lagos to PH for a test when there were centres in lagos?
what if they die in road accidents on the way?
the mediocrity and ineptitude in this country oozes exceedingly.
Politics › Re: Bride Abandons Wedding For Nnpc Test? (PIX) by mbulela: 9:25am On Mar 28, 2011
the story is true, my sis was there and has her pics on her camera too.
she left the reception half way and ran down to the venue of the test around 3pm.
the test did not start till 5pm and by then the reception had ended.
people asked her why she did not change before coming, she said something about the info for the test getting to her either on her way to the church wedding or while already there (something of that sort).
she was calling her husband to send her food as she was hungry and tired.
This pictures are even grainy, i am sue there are better ones online as i hear folks were lining up to snap her pics.
it still did not make sense to me as a test that had over 5,000 people in one centre alone and NNPC would not call more than 200 people for interview was too open a chance to leave your wedding for.
I hear she ended up sitting with a guy who has the same surname as hers,so folks were wondering if the guy was her husband  grin

Politics › Re: Thisday Editor, Simon Kolawole's Description Of Nairaland by mbulela: 8:54am On Mar 28, 2011
Simon is missing the point.
Part of the reason why blogsites are popular in Nigeria and people base their opinions on the comments there is because the mainstream media have failed us.
While  bloggers bay for blood, mainstream journalists dance to various drums that are invisible to the readers.
For example, the way theypraise some governors, even when you leave in those states you see a mismatch between the articles and reality.
How can blogs not be popular when we were witnesses to the 'Azu of Punch' drama, who was later rewarded with a top position in Thisday and givingthe privilege of spewing his garbage on the back page of Thisday on thursdays? We have not forgotten Segun Adeniyi o!and we saw journalists trooping to Hiltop in Minna to pose for fotos with the gap toothed fellow and collect transport envelopes?
Simon has a point but he and his colleagues are part of the problem, they do not have the moral right to complain.

Politics › Re: Buhari, Ribadu, Shekarau Pull Out Of BON Debate by mbulela: 9:35pm On Mar 24, 2011
xremmy:
I strongly believe thr trio of buhari, Ribadu and Shekarau are making a mistake by boycotting this debate.

1, GEJ is the incumbent and they are all contenders, they have to always look for ways to get at him even if it means to swallow their pride. Defending champions get to chose who they fight and when they fight.

2, Seriously, BON has a wider coverage than NN24, nairaland and shara reporters put together. What should be upmost on their minds is to look for ways to garner more votes to themselves by every opportunity available at their disposal.

3, GEJ is a sitting president, and no matter the explanation or excuses offered by his team for missing the NN24 debate, he still has a master stroke excuse. He still has the job of governing  Nigeria. If he believes there are pressing national issues he has to attend to than going for a debate, then he has his reasons (but an apology and explanation to that effect would have been appropriate)

Politics don't play fair here. We can see what is already happening in the states between the parties. So you never bring a knife to a gun fight and complain when beaten. You beat the at their own game.
They have made no mistake.
you are exaggerating the importance of these debates.
this particular one is just to massage GEJ's ego and those of his PDP folks.
their is not much to be gained by it.
it is still the same bunch who watched NN24 that will watch it.
what will they say that you and i have not heard already?
the poor man in the market and on the street does not have light to watch either NN24 or BON (i have not had light for 11 days now and would not waste my generator watching it, i'll rather watch football or a good series).
If GEJ did not have time for the NN24 debate, it is perfectly understandable if they also do not have time for this one.
what is the big deal?
Politics › Re: Ibori In Trouble Again - Commits Crime In Dubai by mbulela: 9:01pm On Mar 24, 2011
i thought Ibori was GEJ campaign manager fro Nigerians in Diaspora?
How any sane person can expect anything different from this man baffles the mind.
This man is a continuation of the same folks who are leading this nation down the abyss.
We just need change by any means necessary.
Playing politics with everything.Even bombings are avenues to score political points.
after all the cry about Independence bombing, Dokpesi the bomber is now a senior executive in GEJ campaign team.
It was so predictable from the beginning and some of us feel so sad that we are being proven true by this inept and mediocre leadership that fate and the short sightedness of the elite has bestowed on us.

sunayo:
I watched the repeat of NN24 Presidential debates twice yesterday and concluded the following:

Only a bigot, , religious fanatics will vote Buhari. He flopped in all the questions.

He has not adapt to civilian system of govt, when asked how he will tackle corruption without
violating the rights of the people he had no answer, all he said was nobody can still govt fund
and get away with it.

Anyone who vote Ribadu is hasty, he talks before reasoning.

Jonathan was unavoidably absent.

If presidential election is won by debate, Shekarau is the best candidate.
They guy is brilliant, articulate, humble and experienced. He answered all
the questions convincingly. Those who truly want the best candidate to lead
us should watch the repeat of the debate, throw sentiment aside and follow
your intellect.
avoidably, you mean.

What was Femi thinking?

Eldee, if only for this act, i will support your music (you've got mad talent, anyways).
I wonder why GEJ and co are so desperate?
He will still win in the end.Nigerians are too docile to effect change. We as a people are short sighted and we will get he leadership we deserve.
we are too comfortable with mediocrity.

Nigerians should be ashamed of themselves if they permit GEJ to win this election. He typifies all that is corrupt about Nigerian leaders. To make matters worse, he doesn't possess any skill worth admiring or noting like other equally corrupt and incompetent leaders. Abacha was bold and decisive; IBB was a bit intelligent; OBJ was/is a strategist. What skills does GEJ have? He is slow, cowardly, subservient to his masters, and extremely indecisive. Nigeria will simply sink below historically poor performance benchmarks.

It has been one problem or the other since he assumed office and he has only been in office for approximately one year. Jos has become a war zone; Nigeria's reserves have depleted; he has surrounded himself with known criminals and law breakers. This is a president that has appointed administrators for universities that are yet to be built when existing universities are rotting away. He has also promised to build an airport in each state (we know its a lie but its still a silly one) when a secondary school student will tell you its not viable to do such. He must be stopped.
after typing all these epistles, come home and vote.
That is all i beg of everyone in this forum.
If you don't you are as damned as the PDP and 'umbllera' women.

Her case is not even the worst.
I knew girls of certain extraction who could not string a single sentence in English for four years and some of them graduated with degrees in English and even English (education).
All they needed to do was have a regular male sleeping partner who was good academically, sleep with lecturers who were willing to be paid in kind when they could not sit with their sleeping partners i nexam halls or pay the lecturers who insisted in being paid in cash (with funds raised from Aristo runs).
At the end of four years you would find one lecturer who did not fall into any of these classes listed above, then the girl will go on a begging parade, telling the man that his course was what was holding her from graduating and he should just "let her go" with an E. even the lecturers she slept with in her dept will join her in begging the rigid one.
At the end of the day, she graduates.

I refuse to castigate the woman and make fun of her.
I'll rather direct my ire and disappointment at the 'learned and sophisticated' crowd around her.
They just hang around anything for personal gratification.
Apart from helping the woman buy gold and expensive lace, what else do they contribute?
they are all hanging around her to benefit themselves and join in raping our collective destiny.
Nigerian elite will celebrate mediocrity as long as it entrenches their grip on our resources.
