Forget this Iyabo issue. I am more worried by the Ayo Adebanjo comment. How does any sane person take these old men serious? These men are clowns and in my books have always been. |
He endorsed Shekarau. So I guess Shekarau is more acceptable than Buhari ![]() |
naijababe:i feel you and see your point. my problem is that i just can't see it happening. From the morning, you know how the day will be. you just don't hang around lions and tigers and suddenly become a domestic animal in the process. The Fashola example is an anomaly. His antecedents were a pointer that he would deliver. Nothing in this morning points to any difference to the past 12 years. Some of the passion of anti-GEJ folks is fuelled by the fact that this is one opportunity that might not present itself again in a long time. The man might not be a bad person afterall (although i seriously question his competence) but with the crowd around him i see no proof that his govt will be anything different from the past. It is impossible to have blind faith as this is religion nor a love affair. We need a strong hand to redress this slide. If GEJ wins and fails to provide a strong hand (which i strongly doubt) the slide will only hasten and all these economic indices being bandied around will be worthless. |
Jarus:Don't worry, i will not crucify you this time. you are right. Congrats Gbawe for your enlightening views. I might not have always agreed with you nor been articulate as you were but it was a pleasure and this comment of yours is a worthy climax. Our consciences and offsprings will bear witness with our efforts for a better Naija. |
efisher:surprise! surprise! I never took him serious until now. at least he walked the talk and has conducted himself in a most honourable manner. swimming against Pentecostal tide must have been one of the hardest things the man has ever done but he has been true to his convictions. For daring, i respect him. |
He did not cry when Tinubu was spending millions sponsoring his campaign? Which part of Tinubu's physical features looks like a Santa Claus? Ribadu is a bit naive but i believe this whole process will be an enlightening one for him and he will be better off in the near future. He should just watch his conduct and comments on the campaign trail that none of it wil come to haunt him in future. |
GEJ will not associate with Tinubu because he is corrupt but bombers like Dokpesi will be his campaign manager? and righteous souls like Anenih will do runs for him? |
i doubt this, besides it is too late to make any difference. how are you going to inform the uneducated masses who have decided to vote for him? This cannot be true. just does not make sense. |
agabaI23:more irony!! good night. |
LSU:you never get tired of trolling this list do you? it is so easy listing those you claim Buhari killed (even those that died in old age decades after he left power) but last time i asked you to list those who have died on the Benin/Ore, East/West road axis where you heroes have voted over 50 billion naira in 12 years and done absolutely nothing. Why is it so hard to draw up that list and probably name it 31 REASONS WHY WE SHOULD VOTE GEJ? |
i find it very ironic that a supporter of GEJ would try to castigate Buhari and have the nerves and effrontery to use words like IQ, sophistication and intellect. Have you no shame in yourselves? |
superboi:so why is Gbagbo not appealing with evidence an election that he is widely believed to have lost? why is he holding the country hostage? whether Quattara is a stooge or not, if Gbagbo had conceeded the election and proceeded to appeal, do you truly think the blood of the masses would have been so aimlessly spilled? He loves Ivory Coast so much that his desire for power is worth blood? Gore beat Bush as was widely believed but he chose not to pursue a case tht could cause yield a constitutional crisis and decided that it was not worth it? when will we have African democracy that would com to terms with the fact that their desires are secondary in the scheme of things? I hope the kind of home grown democracy you are imagining is not the c rap that was done in Kenya where Kabaki lost but the AU in an invention of African type of democracy decided that the loser and the winner should share power and form a govt? whatever form of democracy we settle for in Africa, it must be a form that makes the will of the people paramount and the wil and desires of politicans must be a distant second.Anything else is a farce, simplistic and will always end in bloodshed. |
^^^^^^ noted,my apologies but i hope our version of democracy must also include accepting election results? |
superboi:What is our thing? dictatorship? civil wars? dude, democracy is overated but until you can espouse a better option,we have to make it work. the reasons why it is not working here is largely due to the lack of strong institutions and the overwhelming presence of selfish, power drunk and greedy leaders who never for a moment think of anyone else but themselves and their pockets. They don't even pretend to. That is why it is not working in the continent. The bashing of democracy is short sighted and overly simplistic. Look at South Africa. The reason why that country has not tipped over is because of strong institutions that are still limiting greedy, selfish leaders who are exploiting every available opportunity to rape the country dry. The moment they are able to weaken and destroy the strong institutions they inherited, someone will say democracy does not work there too. I am no supporter of Quattara but i could not care less if Gbagbo rots in hell. killing your people to remain in power can never be justified. at least no one claimed he won the elections. |
ceah:registered on the SMS site. will make the payment during lunch today and get back to you. thanks. |
Jarus:aired on 8.27pm |
just heard the advert. Well done to all involved. |
ogidan2nde: thanks for the detailed explanation and the subsequent discount. Will proceed to register now. Cheers. |
dayokanu:the way Bayern shocked Inter too ![]() |
Jarus:good closure. Just use any of the vague names mentioned earlier and just inform us afterwards. No need for another NASS styled debate over a name. are we still on track for the ad rolling out tomorrow? still waiting your response by email or text on the stuff we discussed. |
nateevs:i remember Carlo saying he will be assistant manager only in name while retaining his duties as chief Opponent scout. the only difference is that he gets to sit on the bench (whether far end or up close, all na bench). Notice that he gives no instruction or discusses with Carlo. It is some strange situation. |
Ibime:don't be ridiculous. In no planet was that a goal scoring opportunity. have you missed all the red cards he has been copping? |
^^^ i share your sentiments on the name thing. why not get a consent from Seun while those hear agree on a name. if Seun comes up with his consent before noon and the house hear agrees we go with it as it is presently. if he does not, we go with whatever name is consensually agreed upon here. This thing is dragging on for too long. I don't understand the argument. we are not representing Nairaland, we are believers in the cause of B/B on Nairaland. what part of that is untrue or libelous? Any other description is vague. whatever the decision of the house, let us put this thing to bed urgently. it is dragging on for too long. It is not like we are registering at CAC. any news on the bulk SMS? whoever the forum member that is willing to foot that bill, may you and your generation never walk alone. May you never be stranded in life. May injustice and mediocrity be absent from your life. |
@all why can't we get the original version of the message without the background music, I bet they recorded it at the BB campaign so they should have a clean copy for Cool FM people to dub on. Just wondering aloud too. Maybe we should post an SOS message in the music section.
that is the most logical thing. Jarus said coolFM said it is impossible to remove the background music. I was alarmed to hear that but i am clueless on such stuff. I wonder if anyone from here is going for the function at city mall today? or has contacts within the campaign team? getting the raw version of that message should not be too difficult. Kobojunkie:the election is next week, we still got days left. i believe we can sort things out in the next 24hrs. I hear we can roll out same ad on wazobia PH through the same sources in coolFM here. We should get an update from Jarus today. any update on the bulk SMS stuff? I am interested in supporting that financially. |
because i am still waiting for he and his administration to prove me wrong as stated below; https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=576504.msg7430981#msg7430981 to make matters worse,Dokpesi the bomber is now a senior campaign manager. In one word - SPINELESS |
Na wa o! this one na serious matter o! okay make una suggest name or should it just be 'concerned young Nigerians'? I see nothing wrong in the name Jarus used but if the vehemence remains as strong as it seems, kindly suggest an alternative, that ad suppose comot tomorrow. on the SMS stuff, how much would it cost? I am still interested in that project, i can support. my finances are bad at present but this is for the future of our children. IT IS POSSIBLE!! Since there is till time, can we source for the raw version of that Bakare's message (without the background music)? Is it possible to send MMS through bulk SMS? just thinking out loud!! |
Tcrack:God bless you. |
AjanleKoko:Oga, i respectfully disagree o! I doubt anyone has said no Nigerian reads. It is just that in a country of over 150million, the population that read are minute and even amongst those, the majority of them read religious books whose titles are closely related to that hilarious list above. As a people, we just don't read. It is partly an environment thing (a lack of good public transport in cities with horrible traffic situations, you get home from work or school after fighting for hours in trafic and the last thing on your mind is to read a few pages from a book with no light and all that). if the adults don't read how will the young ones read? when last did you see an adult buy a good book for a kid as a birthday gift? instead you see gifts like BB, Ben 10 and MP3 players. seen a functional library around here, lately? @post, stick to religious books and fashion mags if you want to turn a profit. |
fstranger3:While your argument might be debateable, this is the wrong place for it. kindly desist from spamming this thread with irrelevant posts. the title of the thread is plain enough for understanding. there are loads of other threads where your argument can be made. |
the MTN number you are trying to call is not reachable at the moment, pls try again later. |
Jarus,done. kindly confirm receipt. |
