I don't think you understand the word profiteering. It is making money out of the pains of other people. Yea, nobody is against profit making, but when such profit turns wicked, it leaves much to be desired. You cannot rip-off people just because you want to remain in business. I think you better have a rethink if you are one of such people who are involved in this kind of inhuman act. Please remember "judgement day" |
aisha2:Aisha, all is well! |
Let me set the ball rolling with this: The first thing President Yar'Adua should do as a national leader would be to forget that he's a leader and to think of himself as one of the rank and file of the people. Thus he should purge his mind of all vain thoughts and fill it with pure thoughts of service to his fellow-countrymen. That is to say, he should be a leader to serve the people in all humility to the best of his ability and not to lord it over them as their master and tyrant. Generally a leader demands of his people implicit obedience to his will. But he should be a leader with a difference. He should not enslave his followers and enforce their blind obedience to him . He should partly lead and partly follow his co-citizens. Very often, a leader imposes his whims upon his followers and makes them the instrument for the realization of his own ambition. But I think Yar'Adua would not do so. He should try to be an embodiment of the cherished and deep-seated ambitions and aspirations of the masses It should always be his endeavor to uplift the suffering masses to his own level of culture and competency. He should continue as a leader only as long as the people wanted him; and he should readily vacate the place of honour as soon as he heard the smallest whisper of discontent among the Nigerian people. |
aisha2:You are the true daughter of your dad. Politics actually can be very rewarding if played within the rules. Therefore I encourage you to develop more interest and you won't regret it. |
There are two sides to this issue now. So far in this thread, the ladies have sort of insisted that guys pretend more while the guys are saying the opposite. Can we really call a spade a spade here, and devoid of sentiments; who are the greatest pretenders? Ladies and gentlemen, over to you. |
It is only good we returned such money. Don't forget that somebody would have to face the penalty for such overpayment. Consider if it were to be your sister or brother. Even if you have suffered an underpayment sometimes, it shouldn't be enough for you to steal. The evil that men do will definitely haunt them one day. |
I am simply good in dancing. I can wriggle my waist very well ; and can use this same method to put any damsel in a state of ecstasy when it matters. |
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. If the above is in place, true love is ensured. |
I can give you a list of songs to help you through, listening to them makes you stronger.
Where is the list, queen-b? |
I think it is high time we prepared for the unpleasant in any relationship. This goes to re-ehoed the much touted maxim that "never trust anyone". It is a painful experience notwithstanding. However, I urge you to take this development as your turning point. No shaking! |
Talking about guys who pretend, may ask how? This is because i cannot immagine a guy saying yes when he means to say no. In my views, that is cowardice. @luxoire, i appreciate the tips and i am sure guys are viewing the posts as well |
Having apologized and same accepted on behalf nairaland babes, the issue raised by nuxereg calls for real discussions. There is no doubt that it is one out of hundred babes that like discussing politics, why? May be there is a sort of general feeling amongst majority of babes that politics is still a dirty game; what do you think? |
Though belated, it is better than not saying anything in the face of these unpopular decisions by government. At least, this can put Yar'Adua, who now in the saddle, on his toes. |
uchetobi:Uchetobi, but guys will always hit the nail on the head. In other words, they don't hide their feelings towards any damsel, Is it a lie? |
osteen, I hope you are not insinuating that he is the only one that can fight corruption in Nigeria ![]() |
j-girl, don't u think something solid could still emanate from such staying together? Afterall, there is this saying that 'once there, you can always be there again'. what is your view(s) |
clemnegro:Are you now saying that pretence makes the game sweeter, umm, interesting? |
When you are the only one calling her, sending text messages. Hell bent on making you go bankrupt due to unnecessary demands. |
One thing is key; the world is changing! Take the leap if it is to your advantage and does not hurt anyone. It is a free world. |
viee:I love to quote good contributions. The end of the relationship, to a large extent, determines ones position. |
Well well well, from all indications and expressions, you're good at written english, your problem is the oral part. I suggest you induldge more in novels, and private practise. Atimes while reading the novels, read them out loud to yourself. It might be some esteem problem or that you know what to say, but your nervousness to make mistakes is what is drawing you back. So i say "practise makes perfect", be more confident in yourself . . and dearie I'm not giving you these points oo, to think "yea yea", i challenge and expect you to put them into action oo. As sad as it makes you, use that same effort to make a different, you got it in you, you juat have to prove you're up to the task. Like i said, read lotsa novels, practise to yourself, and be bold to express it . . you can do this hun!!
That was straight to the point. In addition, endeavour to get stuffs like 'how to communicate effectively in English' and other books that could school you on the effective use of English. Practice they say makes perfect. You should also be all ears to corrections. |
Most guys do say that babes are great pretenders. They are also of the view that romantically, when babes say no, they mean yes. Is this true? A guy recently told me that there was this babe he was pestering to date him but each move he made, the babe had initially rebuffed all his offers; and that to his "pleasant surprise" the babe later succumbed to his pressure. That on one special outing with her, she openly confessed that all the while, she's enjoying the guy's moves but was only pretending. The puzzle now is, how do you know if a lady is interested in your advances considering the fact that most ladies are pretenders? I repeat, are ladies really pretenders? |
The man Ribadu is now fond of rhetorics, full of himself and above all, partial. Infact, he has outlived his usefulness. What we need now is a new blood that can generate results as far as fighting corruption is concerned. We need a person full of energy and not the frail looking and noisy dudes like Mallam, maybe Alhaji Ribadu. |
mubowa:That said it all! |
The advise here is not against wearing trousers but the attendant deceptions it creates in the minds of guys. |
Let's "have a drink" could mean 'to be more intimate'. Wanting to know more about a person. However, the literary understanding could apply too, that is, just taking a drink for leisure. So it all depends on the individual who is asking for it; what such a person has in mind, to a large extent, determines the meaning. |
There is nothing wrong in her advances. It's just that she should have waited for sometime to allow her husband to be buried. One thing i know about women is that, once in love, they can hardly control their feelings. |
There is nothing fantastic about her marriage; afterall she has "offloaded" before. |
nurexg:Dozens of times. Being in love does not make u to be irrational except you allowed yourself to be. Your case is that of incense which is not only against all known natural laws but also morally defficient. Stay away my brother. |
Just be prepared to face the consequences in no distant future, otherwise, I advise you stopped seeing her right away. |
