chokl8candie: hello Frankrobbn1 ......
can you give me a list of affordable canadian universities that do not require gmat or GRE for post graduate studies
thanks in advance Sorry to say this but it is something someone(ME) needs to address, you could have simply type this on Google and you will get your answer. Most people don't want to do any research themselves that's why they fall victim or believe anything someone tells them (cos they don't do their own research so they can have a little idea of what they want). It is not personal but I think there are some questions that aren't suppose to be asked here anymore. It is either you read previous pages or ask Google to get your answer. NB: No wonder the thread is moving so so fast, cos people keep asking questions that have been answered or questions that can easily be gotten on Google. |

tkObserver: Thank you very much for your response. I applied for visitor/tourist visa (TRV) then. Right now, i am planning to visit Barbados as a tourist but bc i would be transiting tru canada, i require a transit visa. Any info you can help with would be appreciated. How many hours is the stop by in Canada? Most times if the stop by is less than 13hours you won't need a visa as you won't be allowed outside the airport but if it is above 12hours then you will need one, but another way is if your connecting flight is through the same airline then the airline will check you into a hotel while you wait for your next flight(if the hotel is outside the airport then the airline in connection with the country's immigration will stamp your ticket so you can go in)..... but your movement will be restricted to the hotel |

I remember writing that you have to be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident to order the Gcms notes for $5, apparently anybody in Canada even one without legal status can do so. Someone said stop misleading people. Me mislead? I am of the opinion that some people need to learn manners. Just correct someone without using high falutin language. Even the best people among us make mistakes. AGAIN!!! LOL! Congratulations bro, approval is around the corner |

femiart: Hi guys, please I want to ask a quick question. My parent is considering selling a property that the money gotten from it will cover my tuition and upkeep with extras. Now the question is how do they show this in the sponsorship letter and it ll fly instead of account statement cos their account statement cant work at all becos they are just doing petty things, and getting a co sponsor is tight now cos they are only offering their account statement nothing more.
My dad does still have hectares of lands though if after we sell this said property. Please advice needed. Thanks How many years is the program? if it is above 1 year, how will they pay for the subsequent year (s)? It is not just about providing funds for the first year but they should be able to show proof that they can sustain further pay (that's where they need to show employment letter and payslip or any other means of making money). |

Cc: Shaddy1k , cic has all the time in the world to check your previous profile and compare it with the present one, in fact they will check it. There's a possibility you might have changed your place of work or added any skill or done any training since your last application, so you can add those new things on your cv but you CAN'T remove whatever you might have written before. So the only thing you can do is add to your cv but you can't remove anything. |

I was just thinking I can just use the college admissions as backup incase PHD does not succeed I don't know much about PTDF scholarship but one of the beneficiary said one can use it in Canada but you will be the one to process your trv. I pray you get the scholarship. Good luck bro |

I don't have any funding anywhere unless God do a miracle. Yes the total amount is about #8-9million. I was thinking I can just find it, but no funds, and due date for first semester tuition is March 1, 2018 Bro, I will sincerely advise you forget the admission and apply for a PhD or any other program with full funding. If you can get a program with full funding then you are good to go, cos #300k no go anywhere o (e no even cover flight let alone tuition and living expenses ). |

I got admission offer to Algonquin College for P. G in energy management September admission 2018.
My problem is I don't have money, just like 300k is what I have my bank account.
Academic Status Full Time - Academic Program Duration 1 Year(s) Level of Study Post Graduate Credential Ontario College Graduate Certificate Start Date September 04, 2018 Completion Date June 30, 2019 Campus Woodroffe Type of School Public Work Requirement Yes Tuition Fees $ 8,100.00 CAD Fees Due Date March 01, 2018 Condition(s) (if applicable) Please note that the tuition fee covers the first semester of study. This acceptance will be cancelled if tuition payment is not received by the College by the due date listed on this letter. Please refer to our website at
Cancellation of this offer after tuition is paid will result in a withdrawal penalty of a minimum of $1,000.00 CAD,
Since I don't want my admission revoke or cancel should I pay $1000 CAD equivalent to around #300k, and my due date to pay is march 1, 2018.
See the breakdown of my fees and living expenses
Tuition Fees and Estimated Expenses The following is an approximate breakdown of fees and expenses for the first year of study. Program: Energy Management Tuition Fees (2 semesters of study) in CAD * $ 16,200.00 Estimated Annual Living Expenses in Ottawa $12,000.00 Total Approximate Expenses for 1 st year $28,200.00 I just want to secure this admissions in as my PhD admission did not click
What do i do From what you said, you only have #300k and you are suppose to have around #8-9mil. That will never fly bro. Or do you have any funding? please explain better but if it is what I think then please don't waste the #300k to secure your admission if you won't be able to raise the other part before you apply for the trv |

sogima: Hello guru,
Please just to be sure. Does Canada universities have similar things like i20 in the USA to present at the embassy. The schools in Canada only give you offer letter(admission letter) and that's what you will submit(with other documents requested by cic). No interview done (except in some special cases), just take your documents to vfs office(Lagos or Abuja) to apply or do it online then you will be asked to go for your biometric at any of the two vfs offices in Nigeria. |

Where is maziude na? It depends on the immigration officer that will attend to him at the POE, though they will like to know what he will be doing for the next 7 months (and he is not suppose to work during this period). Hope you have extra cash for the next 7 months? NB: He has gotten his ticket already before coming to ask so he just have to travel and pray for God's favor. vibrant99: Maybe you need to follow his answers . Bro, nobody is obliged to answer any body's questions here and if someone take out his time to attend to your question I think it will be nice if you appreciate it. Though his answer might not go down well with you but for him to have taken that step to answer says a lot. Some persons ask questions here and you see people online and they refuse to answer, this is because of that. I remember you saying you intend going for a 2 month program and he said why go for such? It is not a bad question, all you should do is tell him why. I also remember him, myself and others on this great forum saying you don't need trv but tourist visa. NB: the person that made the post wasn't in anyway referring to Frank but to newbies who find it hard to do some little research themselves before asking questions and also to let them know NOBODY on this forum can assure you 100% of getting your trv, not even an immigration lawyer. The decision lies in the hands of the visa officer attending to your case, Two visa officers can handle your file and give different reviews . Please let peace reign and stop calling someone out like you just did with Frank |

One more question the amount of money if accepted can it pass for the visa because I intend showing my pay slip. Please I am really trying to get all information right before I start my application Which one is incidental fee? Well try and include the receipt of whatever payment you make when submitting your application. Just like I said, paying of tuition fee doesn't guarantee you visa. Best of luck |

sogima: Thank you. This information is helpful. Must the friend pay school fees? Can’t he only send money into the dorm account. In my case my friend want to send send 15k dollars into my dorm Account and pay for incidental fee. More so my friend-and I are not b in in same country Paying of tuition fee doesn't guarantee trv but it helps a lot , some schools don't accept tuition fee from their students until their trv is aproved. But if I may ask, why can't your friend pay your yuition fee but can transfer the money into your dorm account? Is it because he intend asking for the money back immediately your trv is approved? That's one big question I think the visa officer will ask. |

Slik07: OFFICIALLY, Canada is not one of the countries that PTDF sends Nigerians to. I presume if you are awarded the scholarship and you've a Master's/PhD offer from a Canadian school, you can use it.
See the attached and also check previous years to know the countries listed. You wont find Canada. Maybe that was what happened. I remember the guy saying the money will he paid to him once he gets to Canada, cic requested for proof of fund during his application and I advised him to go get a letter again from PTDF stating their policy now is he needs to be in Canada before they can send his funding. He did just that and cic approved his application |

Slik07: Has PTDF started sending Nigerian students to Canada? I'm aware that PTDF, NDDC etc., scholarships are respected but they dont send Nigerians to Canada. If they do, then it's not OFFICIAL. That was why I didnt mention them. Maybe those with 'long legs' can switch it to Canada. Anything is possible in Nigeria.
PTDF sends Nigerian students to the UK only, but last year they sent some Nigerians to the UK, US, France; tuition free universities in Germany, Brazil and China. This year PTDF is not going to send any Nigerian to the UK or US; but France, Germany and China. PTDF still send Nigerians to Canada, a guy got his' last year and has started school since September 2017. |

Slik07: @Vibrant99
If you've funding from a Canadian University for your program and it's a progression to your career, pls by all means apply for it. Send me your CV & SOP let me help you to review it. I can assure you that the outcome will be favourable in Jesus name. Enough of this fear of applying for a visa even when the program is going to be fully funded.
N/B: if your funding is coming from Nigeria, pls dont bother to send to me because VOs dont take Nigerian scholarships serious. Nobody is putting fear in him, he has funding that covers his tuition fee and half of his living expenses. The issue is that he went ahead to pay $10k+ into his student account and wrote on his SOP that it is for his tuition fee. That is confusing as the vo will feel why pay for tuition when you already have funding? So, all he needs to do now is explain to the vo that he has full funding and the money he paid into his student account is mainly for his living expenses(together with the extra from his funding). NB: If you get FULL FUNDING and refuse to explain yourself well to the vo, you will end up having issues. We have seen more than one person having full funding here and still get delayed due to lack of funds |

Frankrobbn1: Vibrant99. Those Why's are the questions the Visa officer will throw at your application. So prepare to present a rational explanation to each of them. Of course yes people go for conferences in Canada sponsored by their respective companies/Firms. Well, I'm not a Visa officer, but from my experience Sir, The duration/length of your program has alot to do with your visa. We have seen so many cases of applicants applying for a year program and got denied with.... PURPOSE OF VISIT AND LENGTH OF STAY IN CANADA talk more of 2 months program.
Above is my intake. But you may decide to give it a shot, If you think you can convince the visa officer.
All the best Cc:Vibrant99 , since you will be applying for tourist visa I suggest you check for the requirement on cic site (it shouldn't be up to that of study permit). So, a visit to their site will answer your questions. NB: Also your application will be treated here in Nigeria(I think Lagos). The processing time also can be gotten there (won't be up to that of trv) |

D inflow and outflow of cash in his account is good. I'm working in a government establishment n I have been given a study leave approval... So..
*Apart from landed property what else can be my home ties or d study leave letter Will be enough. *Apart from the affidavit that will be sworn by my sponsor what else can be used to notarize d situation.. D question of paying tuition fee is out of it cos d institution advice against it. Please advise ur sister. Thanks all If your intended program is related to your present profession(place of work ) and you can get a leave letter stating the program will help you greatly in the office(might lead to your promotion), then that should be enough |

Please i will like to know if it is OK to submit an application with an acceptance letter printed from a soft copy that was sent into my email. I am asking because the university graduate school is not ready to sent a hard copy of the letter after l ve contacted them.
I will also like to know if i can apply as a self sponsor considering the fact that my annual tuition fee is CAD4,300. I ve paid CAD10,250 into my student account at the university and I ve an annual funding of CAD10,488, but I only ve 250,000 Naira in my personal account that i want to apply with.
Please all suggestions are warmly welcome. Thanks and best regards. Regarding funding you are good to go. In place of funds fill scholarship from school then support it with a proof from the school. NB: Please make sure you emphasize BOLDLY on the full funding on your SIP just to let the vo know. |
