In this message you mentioned that the sponsors account statement is to show that they can pay for the second year and subsequent. In my case, its just a year course and I require no subsequent funds from the sponsor. Must the sponsor (my husband actually) stil include their statement of account? The thing the sponsor sold a land just to raise me with some money towards my tuition. His account statement does not usually reflect millions on a regular basis if you know what I mean.
Yes it is to show if the sponsor can pay for subsiquent years, also the vo will like to know if the sponsor will still have enough left for himself and his dependant after giving you the said amount.
Thank God you said it is your husband, so please let him submit his statement of account as well (don't worry).
Also let the vo know he is your husband(marriage cert will he helpful) and also if you have any children together that will stay back with him

would they request to see proof of funds on entry?
The immigration officer might ask you for it but not compulsory. Some people are lucky to the extent they are just asked "Why are you in Canada"? and after saying "for studies" they get stamped in. So to be on a safer side go along with your proof of funds (maybe bank statement)

Good evening and Happy New Month To you lovely people in here,

Please i want to ask; heard that for one to undergo any postgraduate or masters program in Canada he/she needs to write a professional exam such as IELTS, how true is that?

Secondly, someone with 2 2 (Second Class Lower Division) in a reputable university here in Nigeria can he/she be eligible to undergo postgraduate or masters program in Canada?

You kind answers will be deeply appreciated.

Thanks
1. Not true, you will have to check the schools' sites to see those that don't require it to know
2. It is possible to get offers, but like the first answer you will have to check schools online to see the ones offering your intended program and their requirements

hello room, trust everyone had a nice weekend, please i would like to know if it is compulsory my sponsor puts money in my account and i present my bank statement too( which doesnt have any money init) or its just fine they present thiers, and also do i have to open a Domiciliary account for the money?
If your sponsor has transferred the funds to your personal account both of you will still have to a how your bank statement(his own is to show he can pay for the 2nd year and subsiquent years ahead).
It is not a must you open a dorm account but opening it shows the vo you have dollars readily available.
Apart from transferring money into your account your sponsor must write a letter explaining his reasons for sponsoring you and also state the amount he transferred to you (that will take care of lump sum)

If I am a freelancer and I probably make money online, is it advisable to put it in the SOP that I am a freelancer and I can make money from anywhere in the world.

Would this deter them from giving me a visa, that I don't really need the visa for my academics or something

Thank you all for doing a very nice job on the thread

I pray that there would be testimonies of visa this year
Tell the vo everything, you being a freelancer has to do with your work not studies. Make sure you explain why you picked Canada and not Nigeria for studies.
Explaining what you do to earn money is basically to show relationship with your propose program and also to show you have enough money(source of fund) to carter for yourself throughout studies

The whole for the two years program is 7,800cad but he has transferred 8,700cad to the school. The fund can over the whole program excluding feeding, accommodation text book e.t.c.
If the amount he has in his account will cover his living expenses for the two years and have extra then he can sponsor himself

Thank you so much for responding. Is the letter the only thing required of the person or does he have to submit his bank statement too? Considering the sponsorship is only a one time payment which he has already transferred into my account?

By the way, in my last application I backed up every lumpsum with notarized letters and statements of account, every single document. I am convinced they didnt check them.
Yes he needs to include his statement of account and a letter of support stating the amount and why he is doing it.

Hello fellows, Please i will appreciate if anyone help me with this issue. If one is denied visa in one of the EU/Schengen countries (not UK), is it necessary revealing it in the Canadian Study visa application? I mean..., do Canadian immigration crosscheck/share bio information with EU/Schengen countries?
It is very necessary bro. Don't be scared to be truthful cos if you don't declare it they will still find out and that means 5 years ban

Hello House,

I would be grateful if I can have my questions answered.

I have all my funds in fixed deposit. Most of the deposits were made like 6months ago and a few were made like a month and 3 months ago. My question is; Do I have to submit my FD in a statement of account format and explain how I came about all the deposits from last 6months, or should I just submit the FD investment certificate which would just state the total amount I have in the account?

Secondly, I am not very clear about the difference between referring to someone as a sponsor or just saying what they gave you is a gift deed, in the instance where they only gave you some amount of money into your account and wont be giving you any other funds.

I would appreciate some responses. I was rejected last year and my gcms note states that I made lumpsum deposits of unknown origin. So I am being very careful with my prove of finances this time
First, you will have to get a letter from your bank stating the fixed funds can be accessed by you once it's time for your studies. The aim is not just to have funds but to have access to the said funds.
Secondly, if someone gives you money (large sum) towards your education it should be well explained in your sop, if the person will be doing it all through your program then you should also state it in your sop... the person also should write a letter of support stating he/she gave you the said amount as a way of supporting your studies.
If the said "lump sum" had been well explained by you and the giver you wouldn't have had issues there. Imagine an account that receives 100k/month for 1year and suddenly 1million enters that account without you explaining it? That's what the vo felt when he/she saw the amount(without any meaningful explanation).

Canada dia wahala plenty......Pls urgent reply. I want to submit my application before d end of this week at Lagos.
It is not about how loaded or heavy the account is but how willing they are to show commitment by paying the tuition fee and the living expenses into your personal account. If they can do that you are good to go but if not please don't waste your time

2 years program. The school advised him to budget for 650 per course,He is to take 12 courses. He has credited the school account with 8,700cad.
He should get a co-sponsor if not what he has won't be enough. If he has paid his tuition fee already for first year it means he will have to provide funds for next this year and next year living expenses plus tuition fee for the second year (that will be around 29,000cad = #9mil ), so let him try and get a co-sponsor to assist him.
The breakdown of the $29k is as follows: first year living expenses = $10k, Second year living expenses = $10k, second year tuition fee = $8.7k

They do but dual intent shouldn't be a problem, though I saw someone's gcms note and the vo referenced the applicant's EE as part of the reasons for denial (but I feel maybe cos he had other baggage that's why the vo brought his EE into the picture)

Hello everyone, thanks for all your informative questions and replies. i have just been refused visa for a PGD program in canada on grounds of finance, so i would like to know if reapplying makes sense because my sponsors are my parents, although my dad has retired, there is enough funds in the accounts of both father and mother. i also would like to know if paying my full fees of 23kcad might increase my chances and lastly, can it is possible after my reapplication another reason if brought up for my denial cause right now only the finance segment was ticked. Also any other information or tips as regards to the reapplication would be very useful. Thanks for your anticipated replies.
Order for your gcms note to know the exact reason why you were delayed. Also share your profile so we can see while you wait for your gcms note

Hello guys,
I have applied to a school in Canada and have completed my application but having my MBA transcript outstanding as the school is currently on strike and am currently not sure if it has been sent.

I am a married with two kids, one has the blue passport while the other has the green passport. My sponsor is my dad and the bank statement shows over 25k dollars. I have applied to a school in Canada as well as 3 schools in USA. My question is if I am eventually given the visa, when do i get to apply for my kids / husband since I didn't include them in the form as accompanying me. I felt, I should apply first before applying for my husband and kid.

Do I need to also apply for the child with the blue passport.
My husband and other kid also have 2yrs US visa.

Please advise me on both instances, Canadian Students Visa and US Students visa.

Kindly advise me. I have typed my questions several times but. I end up deleting it because am confused on what and how to ask the question. I wouldn't want anyone to shut me down. I have. Read so many things on this platform. And I have also made others join for more knowledge and contribution.

Thank you.
First, you can apply for your family immediately you get your trv but I will advise you get to Canada first then you apply for them. Yes you will have to for all of them (including them hehe one with the blue passport)...that's for Canada.

Hello House, please I will like to find out how a school or embassy which requests bank statement is able to verify?
Is it just by placing a call to confirm what is infront of them?
How are they able to know that the financial institution dosnt in actual fact have that money but just coniving with its client by building statements for them.
If a school doesnt detect when it asks for statement, at least the embassy should have a way to really know that the document infront of them is good or bad without those in those financial institutions? I need an advice for a friend...
Thank you.
You don't need any advise to this as it is not your business how the embassy or school verify from the bank, except if you have something to hide. Do you intend using a cooked up bank statement? If yes then be ready to get 5 year ban......
