Please I want to know, if it is compulsory one pays the school fees to get the TRV? Please any insight would be appreciated.
cc justwise jnyuwa02 mcobex It is not compulsory but it helps a lot to show you have the funds to your disposal. Some people pay their tuition fee and still get delayed though . |

teebabee34: Thanks for your advise.
My child is only 5 months old atm. but she should be around 1+ by the time we fully start her mums application. Do you think it would be appropriate for her mum to apply alone considering the baby's age at that time? Especially if you think we will somehow appear in her mums application as proof of tie plus I'll definitely be her main sponsor. The mum can apply for the baby immediately but just like I said you will need more funds. She should look for creche in Canada (same city as her school) or nanny that she will keep the baby whenever she has classes. She needs to prove to the visa officer that she has made all those provisions pending when she and baby arrive Canada. As for yours you can apply at the same time but my sincere advise is allow her and baby to apply first then you can apply immediately hers has been approved. |

teebabee34: Hello, house
My wife will like to further her education in Canada. we are Finland residents with 1 kid. My question is, how feasible is it for all of us to get a visa if she eventually applies. what kind of visa should we be looking out to and lastly, would you advise we apply here in Europe or go to Nigeria to do that?
I wouldn't mind if you could also direct me to a specific page on this thread where i can get more info. What's your status in Finland? If you have a residents permit there then APPLY there but if on visit then you will have to apply from Nigeria. Yes you all can apply together (your wife applying for study permit whole you and your baby apply for spousal ) but know she will have to show enough funds for the additional members (you and your kid). I always advise the in applicant to apply first then after her's has been approved you and your kid can now apply for yours |

I have reviewed your application and documents you submitted in its support. Subsection 11(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act provides that a foreign national must, before entering Canada, apply to an officer for a visa or any other document required by the Regulations. The visa or document shall be issued if, following an examination, the officer is satisfied that the foreign national is not inadmissible and meets the requirements of this Act.
I have concerns that you have not fulfilled the requirement put upon you by section 16(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, which states:
16(1) A person who makes an application must answer truthfully all questions put to them for the purpose of the examination and must produce a visa and all relevant evidence and documents that the officer reasonably requires.
On the current application form, you indicate that you have never been refused any kind of visa, admission, or been ordered to leave Canada or any other country. According to information in our records, you were refused visas to the United States in 2006, 2007, 2013 (two times) and 2014.
Please note that if it is found that you have engaged in misrepresentation in submitting your application, you may be found to be inadmissible under section 40(1)(a) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. A finding of such inadmissibility would render you inadmissible to Canada for a period of five years according to section 40(2)(a):
40(1) A permanent resident or a foreign national is inadmissible for misrepresentation (a) for directly or indirectly misrepresenting or withholding material facts relating to a relevant matter that induces or could induce an error in the administration of this Act
40(2) The following provisions govern subsection (1): (a) the permanent resident or the foreign national continues to be inadmissible for misrepresentation for a period of five years following, in the case of a determination outside Canada, a final determination of inadmissibility under subsection (1) or, in the case of determination in Canada, the date the removal order is enforced.
I would like to give you an opportunity to respond to this information. I will afford you fifteen (15) days from the date of this letter to make any representations in this regard. Please use the address noted on this letter for all correspondence, and clearly indicate your file number. If you do not respond to this request within the time outlined above, your application will be assessed based on the information available, which will likely result in a refusal.
You must respond to this concern via e-mail. Paper submissions will not be accepted. If you have supporting documents that you would like to provide in your response, please scan these and attach them to your e-mail response.
Thank you for the interest you have shown in Canada. It is VERY CLEAR, You refused to mention you have been denied visa in the past. So tell them your reason (s) for not mentioning it. It is absolute denial as it is now and you might get banned for some years |

myelims: Hey House,
Please, I really need help and advice.
Got admission to University of Guelph with schorlaship to cover my tuition for two years.
But the school is asking me to provide a letter of of financial guarantee FOR MY COST OF LIVING FOR TWO YEARS sent directly from the bank on my behalf with my sponsor account number and it should contain 10million naira.
Please has anyone had this issue even after getting some scholarship.
And secondly pls, I will appreciate if there is anyone on this platform that can help me send the letter through the bank to them or can suggest a solution.
By the way, have been able to raise my cost of living for a year, all I need is just to get the letter to them to get the admission letter.
Thank You. You need someone to help you get the latter to them? I don't understand. Can you explain better? To my understanding , all the school is asking for is your statement of account to show you have your living expenses. Go to your bank and ask for your statement of account then you can post it via any courier company to the school or you pay the bank to send it in your behalf. Nobody on this forum will help you do that |

MichyEhi: Hello,
It is for 2 years.
Fee is 11,000 CAD
I want to self sponsor.
Thank you. Self sponsorship will require you to cough out the entire funds for your program(for the two years), so that will amount to around $42,000 ($11000/year * 2 for tuition and $10000/year for living expenses). So do the conversion to naira . I always advise people to get a sponsor as with a sponsor you will be allowed to provide full funds for the first year and proof that you can sustain the payment in the second year (the sponsor showing his source of income and how he intends paying for the second year). But if you think you can afford it yourself(that's around #13Million naira) then you are good to go. |

Slik07: What're you writing in your SOP that you've 6 pages? In SOP writing, make sure that every sentence counts. That is, every sentence must contain vital information that supports your application whicb will make the VO to read it to the end, otherwise, erase.
IMO, SOP should be 3 pages max. Cc: Yamen21 There's no specific number of pages for an sop, just make sure the vo enjoys reading it and it will scale through. Yes, it is better to have fewer pages so as not to bore the vo but trust me you can read 10 pages of an sop and be asking for more of it. NB: SOP is not compulsory, you only use it when you have things to explain to the vo. Just make sure you capture the attention of the vo from the beginning til the end |

Laurel10: Good day everyone, I'm currently trying to apply for an admission to do my master's in Canada through an agency. Currently, I heard Nigerians have been banned from entering Canada because of the illegal immigrants that crossed into Canada from U.S recently.
My question is, do you guys thinks I'd be able to secure a students visa if the admission pulls through. I don't want to waste my time and money only to end up disappointed. Even the agency told me that Canada isn't a good option for now.
Please I need your suggestions and advice ASAP, I have to start with fall semester, all things being equal.
Thanks First I think you shouldn't use any agency to process this as you can get all the required info here at "NO COST" . Your profile will tell if you stand a chance or not. Kindly give the house your profile then we will know where and how to start |

2 mil in my bank account 2 mil in a money market fund with ARM And 8 mil with a company called Abuja Leasing Company.
Is this sufficient? Or should the money be moved around differently? You didn't tell the house how much your tuition is and the duration of your program . Also if you intend sponsoring yourself or you have a sponsor? Answer those questions to give the house a clearer picture of the situation |

walter08: Thank you,
Annual fee is about $13000 and 1 year program Do you have a co-sponsor? cos if your tuition is $13000 then you add your living expenses which should be at least $10000, you will have total fee to be at least $23,000 and that is almost if not more than #6mil. Try and get a co-sponsor that will support you with more fund. Also, why are you going for a one year program? visa officers aren't too lenient with people going for such as they just have the believe you are running from naija. I would have preferred you go for a two year PGD program so as to tackle purpose of visit issue |

I applied for PGD program in ontario colleges, pls do i need supervisor? I dont really know much about GCMS, do I need it?
Here is my portfolio I have landed property 3 plots of land worth about 5 Million with DOC I have about 5.5m physical cash I have virgin passport I have once applied for visitor visa but was refused due to insufficient fund. I work with oil servicing company earn about 2.6 Million annually with tax. I can get reference letter and leave letter from MD My formal employer live in Ontario( Permanent Resident), promised to write reference for me I have registered limited company since 2015 without tax
Pls, which one do I need and which one should i discard Seriously the questions are scattered. The first question means you are yet to gain admission cos you are asking if you need a supervisor or not.......... 2. "GCMS NOTE" NO, you don't need it as it is for people that have applied before and got denied. It actually gives a detail reason why the person's application was denied. 3. As for your portfolio, how many years is your intended program and the tuition fee? |

Cc: mcobex Bro, your question has been answered by @Austinpee4. Check previous pages and you will see his advise. To add a little, I don't think schools in Canada accept PGD for MSc. Also you will need do the search for schools offering your intended course on Google by yourself. check out memorial university of newfoundland, uni Saskatchewan and others . I think your best bet is to go for PGD cos of your 3rd class, though most schools consider your last two semesters grades, if your grades are superb then apply for MSc but if not then go for PGD. Best of luck |

lordgosh: hello house,
I am a silent follower of this thread.
I was denied student visa today reasons;
You have not satisfied me that you would leave Canada at the end of your stay. In reaching this decision, I considered several factors, including: -length of proposed stay in Canada -purpose of visit
My program is a two yrs direct entry course at Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.
I am married with 2 kids which i stated in my application and they are not going with me. I have landed property which was also stated with supporting document in my application.
Please guru's in the house how do I tackle the raised issues and do I need my gcms note to tackle this.
In short what is the best way to address the issue and then reapply?
Thank You all and please keep this thread alive.
God bless Us all Order for your gcms note first then the house will take it from there. Sorry about the delay |

Doladele: Good morning house, Please I will like to make some few enquiries, 1) I am married with a child that is less than a year, what are the chances of securing student visa for my daughter n I.
2) my father will be the major sponsor together with my husband n I but I have dohe my change of name, how does my dad assist with the sponsorship.
Thank you. 1. Yes you stand a chance of getting it with your child but you will have to show funds for both of you (I think additional $3,000/year for your baby), meaning apart from your tuition fee you need to have at least $13,000 (at least $10,000/year for you and at least $3,000/year for your baby). Also you will have to show the visa officer you have plans on how to take care of your baby when you have lectures (like hiring a nanny during school hours or registering him/her in a creche).... you have to show proof of all these. If you can't afford all these then apply alone. 2. That's not a problem, all you need is your marriage certificate and also proof of change of name (newspaper). |

However the resumption date stated on my application letter has elapsed (it was early January). Now I got a message from the visa office saying I should submit my passport.. Biko is there any need to tell them that I have been given an extension with respect to my resumption date? Should I submit the email from my school stating my extension or I should keep quiet
Thank you Congratulations bro, try and contact your school to inform them your trv has been approved to hear what they will say, Cos most schools give students some weeks after resumption to resume. Don't tell cic anything, just submit your passport asap (in fact now). NB: Even if you can meet up with school this time still collect your trv then defer your admission till a later date, but make sure you submit your passport asap |

I got admissions to RRU and UCW and I am a bit undecided as to which school to take. UCW seems to have bad reviews online but I am also considering locations and the lengths of study. UCW (University of Canada West): Vancouver, 24 months, small scholarship and so lower fees by about $8,000 CAD RRU (Royal Roads University): Victoria, 18 months I will advise you go for the 24months (2 years) own so as not to have issues with purpose of visit. NB: Hope your proposed program is related to your previous one? |
