mabella2: Sorry I quoted you to correct a notion, I applied from the US with a visitor's visa and I just received my medical mail. Now the issue is that am back in Nigeria, Can I do the medical in Nigeria or must it be US This is the first time I am hearing this, if that's the case then you can do your medical in Nigeriw and the clinic will forward your result to cic. Let's hope for the best . NB: WHICH MEANS YOU APPLIED VIA ONLINE ROUTE? |

Lemia: Hi guys, great job so far with the help.
I have another inquiry and I'll love expert opinion.
I applied to the University of Waterloo some time ago for admission in Fall 2018. I got a reply from my supervisor that I've been accepted into the masters program with full funding and the admission letter and funding details will be sent to me later.
Considering the relationship I've built with my professor, he stated that he wants me to come to Canada in May( 4 months before resumption) and begin work with him and get a good grip of research before school resumes but I told him it would be impossible as I'm currently serving and would finish in late June or early July.
The question I'm asking now is how possible will it be for me to goto Canada in July when my program starts in September?
Would my travel be covered by my student visa (which I don't even know how long it might take to process) or would I have to apply for a visiting visa for the two months before my program starts?
I would really love your opinions guys. You study visa will be enough , so I advise you start the process immediately |

Abiodunne: Sir how sure are you? What lies the fate of sum1 who has a 2.2 and cannot get into masters directly because admission into most Canadian universities are very competitive then goes thru the PGD route with the intention of finally going for a masters? Just like I said, PGD does not qualify you for MSc in Canada (is stand to be corrected), so if you can't get masters with your UG grade then apply for PGD and state is in your sop why you are going for PGD instead of masters (that you couldn't secure admission for masters) but have it in mind that the PGD won't qualify you for masters. NB: You can still get a job with your PGD cert after school |

please, i need clarification.
I got a request for my Passport. do I go with only my passport, the letter asking for my passport and the other documents I was given after biometrics? And do I have to pay any money at VAC? because I checked the website and I saw 10k for taking my documents to the Canadian embassy in Lagos. please help I want to submit tomorrow.
Thank You. Congratulations, did you apply via online or paper route? Well to answer your question, you won't be asked to pay anyone when submitting your passport yourself. |

joeadex: Hello travel experts in the aoz, I wnt to apply 4 work nd study visa in Canada for Masters degree bt I graduated wit 2.6 cgpa nd I'm lukin at PGD as a remedial program b4 proceeding for masters bt my traveling agent said isn't possible unless I retake my Bsc degree...pls is dis true dat i shud retake my Bsc or there is a way out...ur advice is needed, tnkz. First, PGD is not a prerequisite to MSc in Canada, so if you go for PGD you won't be able to go for MSc with that. But you can search for schools that will accept your undergraduate grade for MSc program, though your chances are slim but not impossible. Best of luck |

keduduka1234: Hello First of all I'd advise to ask if you can apply foe your visa within the US. You could contact the Canadian embassy in the US to clarify this. If you can, just do it in the US.... You may have to move your return date tho, but my guess is that the processing time should be faster in the US. And if possible, you could move to Canada from the US Hope this helps.... Cc: @lovelywings what type of visa to the US do you have? if it is visiting visa then you can't apply from the US but if you have a study visa then you can apply from the US. Using visiting visa to a country to apply is a RED flag and won't help your case |

Hello all. If you are interested in admission mostly for undergraduate programs at Memorial University of Newfoundland and resides in Lagos or you have a friend or relative who is; Ms. Carolyn O’Keefe, a student recruitment officer from MUN, will be in Lagos between the 19 to 23 January to attend the EduCanada fairs and to meet with eligible ( http://www.mun.ca/undergrad/admissions/waec-neco.php) prospective students, mostly undergraduate and their families. Ms. Carolyn O’Keefe can be reached via the email address carolynok@mun.ca . Thank you. |

Austinpee4: Baba, don't you think this advise would give other people a reason to misrepresent and later send an email to CIC to feign ignorance to the 'clearly'asked question?
I still don't believe anybody 'forgets' to answer the question correctly. There are other questions on the IMM1294 form and it is usually answered correctly, why then would a question of a previous refusal be forgotten more so when applicants applied for the refused visa themselves or had knowledge of a refusal or the mere fact that they wanted to travel before but things didn't go as planned. These memories live for a lifetime!
Anyway, Truth is, CIC will hardly respond and accept such errors. The immigration laws very well covers such acts with a corresponding consequence. Officers will use their discretion and interpretation of such act of misrepresentation. It's simply to uphold their existing laws and regulation. So the right thing for an applicant that 'forgets' to declare a previous refusal is to wait for a response from CIC. We have seen cases of severe to no consequences in time past but not without a procedural fairness letter.
So to all those 'forgetting', una weldone o. Kindly note that the more of these cases of misrepresentation, the stringent the scrutiny is for all category of visas to Canada. They just don't trust Nigerians completely. I guess nobody would want to make it even harder.
Declare any previous app refused. There is nothing wrong in that. As a matter of fact, it gives credibility to the over processing of an application. Lol! I feel you bro, at least maybe the mail will save them from getting a ban. I still don't know why people just decide to lie about it. |

I will like to know if I need to talk about my previous application and denial in my SOP or I shld just focus solely on the new app. Thanks. I kindly await your response. Why were you denied last year? have you tackled the reasons? if you have then state it in your sop that you were denied last year and state how you have tackled the issues in this new application. NB: There's no harm in it, after all the vo already knows you were denied last year and please don't forget to fill it on the form that you have been denied visa before. Best of luck |

Elizdee: .
Hello, I got an admission at Osgoode Law school for a masters program (Winter2018) I got denied visa on 13/11/17 I applied on 13/10/17 Reasons are: insufficient funds Family ties in Canada and Nigeria Purpose of visit My sponsor is my guardian who I have been living with since primary school. He put in the necessary documents needed with a huge SOA . My question is: Can I reapply this week because classes start Jan 3rd Or should I defer my admission for For summer or fall session I am confused and sad. I need your help people. Sorry for the delay, I will advise you defer your admission so you can apply for your file from cic (to have a clearer picture why you were delayed). Order for your file then try to fix the loopholes and you should be good to go. Make sure your sponsor show commitment this time by paying your tuition fee a d also pay your living expenses into your personal account(That's how to tackle issue of funds). To tackle purpose of visit make sure your intended program /course is in line with your previous program/course. if you have a BSc already it will be better if you go for MSc this time, except if your grade is very low then you can go for PHD and ensure you explain yourself why you are going for it. Family ties isn't much of and issue |
