PoliticsRe: WAR Is HELL - A Message For All Those Calling For War! by mcstan18(m): 3:07pm On Jul 07, 2015
Pangea:
Everyday people talk about starting another war without remembering that war is hell. Thank God for the War Journalist who helps us remember. One such a Journalist is the Frenchman Gilles Caron who first saw war as a French soldier in Algeria and hated it so much that he stopped fighting and spent the last 4 months of his Military service in French chains.

He then went on to fashion photography which he found boring and returned to the front this time without a gun but with a camera and has given us some of the most thought provoking photos from various conflicts including our own Biafra.

My favourite ( if we can call it that ) is this one of wounded Biafran soldiers being left by their mates as the battle turns and the Federals advance.,

Just as you see the back of the fleeing Biafrans you can take inventory of the fright and horror of the surviving wounded soldier in his eyes pleading with the remaining troops ( Caron included ) not to be left behind to a certain death.

Instances like this made Gilles Caron drink heavily and you sure can’t blame him because I would be shooting heroin just to be able to go to sleep.

So as you rattle your swords and gnash your teeth crying for war…remember this side and that the young man on the ground is someone’s son, brother or even a Father. Worse still he may never get to be a Father.

I wish the insane igbos would listen.. before starting their Biafra again
you are grossly misguided brother or sister (whichever it is you are). When did it become compulsory to ask to be set free? "Biafrans" do not think that they are regarded relevant in the running of the affairs of the country and have made known their intention to break away albeit in a peaceful manner.

How then do you ignorantly turn around and refer to them as war mongers? If I know of any tribe in Nigeria that loathe war more than the others, it should be undoubtedly the Igbo(Biafran) race. They have had the very bitter taste of war, moreso when they were hardly enlightened on the arts of war. The generation that witnessed the horrors of '67-'70 are still very much around and would give up whatever it takes to avert a repeat of those experiences.

However, you can only stretch a string as far as its elastic limit after which it breaks. The Biafrans are no pushovers, that I can tell for sure. If the North demands for war by oppressing the Biafrans, then they shall have war.

He still speaks because people still listen to him.

He should be talking to his birds right now if we had done the wise thing - ignore him grin

Following this thread I discovered that during your time you were also desperate like some people and you got finally called for medicals towards the end of August. I pray the same thing happen to some of us who have waiting for over a month!
Amen! I actually picked up my letter same day the training commenced.

Sorry guys, I've been very busy at work. To the subject of discourse, I think you guys need to exercise some patience. Benchmarking doesn't expressly imply that you're going to be offered employment, neither does it imply the reverse case. One thing is certain, and that is that everyone's gonna be called/mailed no matter the feedback. What benchmarking simply means is that you are being compared with other persons who made it to that stage and if the recruitment team have a reason to select somebody who just got to the same stage you've been for months, it's purely their judgment.

A certain friend (a nairalander) just called last night that she's been asked to come for her medicals after nearly a month wait. Please note that people still resume even after training commences. Some in December, others in March/April. My advise is, if you haven't been dropped yet, please wait patiently. I hope this suffices.

Been receiving several calls from nairalanders without any corresponding reflection in the volume of comments and contributions.
I do not think this is ideal as other applicants ought to learn from yOUR experiences. Directions may forthwith be strictly on the forum.

God bless us all.

FamilyRe: What To Do When Your Husband Won’t Help With House Chores by mcstan18(m): 11:24am On Jul 12, 2014
coachwilcox: I subscribe to men doing chores at home. Its the TYPE of chores I am very much choosy.

If my wife is secularly employed a lot of electronic devices (washing machine, dishwasher, microwave for my already prepared and refridgerated meals) can help to make her job easier a lot.

The way the house is set up can also make the job easier. Tiled floors, leather seats etc

As I said earlier, I define chores into manly chores and feminine chores. Cooking, doing dishes, cleaning the house, laundry etc are women chores or at least they should see to it that it is done. Handling the generator, shutting the gate at night, nailing broken panels, taking out the thrash, cutting trees and gardening, fixing and washing the vehicle(s), fixing electronics and co are manly tasks. So just as I wont want my wife to go fixing the coil or panel in the generator or changing my vehicle oil, she should damn not expect me to start sweeping the house.

Many of our african girls are deluded by the western media which has brainwashed them into thinking they can live like westerners. Thus, after seeking an independent feminist life, they want a life like that. When they get married they want their men to act the way they see in soaps, sex nd d city etc. Strangely enough many western woman are not even like that but our gullible african girls swallow hook line and sinker what they hear and watch. My brothers wife is a german in berlin and she does household chores like a wizard while me and my bro drink beer/watch bundesliga.

From a biblical point of view a woman should have deep respect for her man. Would you be having respect for your man by asking him to go prepare breakfast in bed for you?? Some stupid western fantasyhuh Is it respect to sit while your man is sweeping the living room?? Strangely most of the stupid girls commenting here will go to their brothers house and if they see him scrubbing the toilet while his new wife is watching desperate housewives they will go ballistic hissing around the whole place and giving her hell.
What? cool You're my personality of the year for this contribution. I never wished to comment but your submission broke down my resolve.

A very plausible opinion from EVERY point of view (male or female chauvinist, religious, etc). Kudos again brother.

Humans are typically mentally dull. Especially these days. Why do you think the only words usually quick to recall in a song is the chorus ? Repetition, Vivly, repetition.

Some bloke might think you said only 4 and ask whether its in the morning or afternoon.
Here we go

Redundant for emphasis undecided

Some minorities are larger than the others eg African-Americans, Hispanics

. . . so to avoid any possible misunderstanding we use the word 'personal' just to make sure.

Yeah ! Right after folks at MTN stop putting network after the acronym. The N in the brand already stands for network.

Some things are more true than the others eg all women have vaginas, or all women are sluts etc. Hence, the need for a phrase that doubly emphasizes the truth one forwards.

No, some experiences are past. All experiences were present. Many more experiences are possible in the future.

Stop thinking like you are in the 18th century, many adages eg 'Shine your eye', 'In doubt ask Google' etc crop up in recent times.
I'm sure you're trying to play a prank here. All you've said here makes little or no sense

With such spelling blunder, you'd better not advise. Why were you so quick to criticize, leaving out the subject matter completely?

Jobs/VacanciesRe: KPMG Second Stage Interviews, What Is It Like? by mcstan18(op): 10:53am On Jul 22, 2013
Phonon: I hope so brother.I only asked because HR had mentioned something about 'benchmarking' after the Partner interview.Waiting patiently.....
There's no other stage after the partner interview. Benchmarking is only a process whereby HR compares all successful candidates by juxtaposing your resumé, credentials, and performances at each of the stages of the recruitment process with that of your contemporaries.

This is usually done to ensure that the 'best' of all qualified candidates are selected from the pool of talents available for employment at each point in time (there isn't a foolproof assurance that this would be the case afterall, just a thing of professional judgment).

However, if the HR perceives that a person isn't good enough for his/her preferred unit due to better candidates vying for the same position, an offer to make an alternative switch to other units where there is/are available space(s) is usually made.

Don't fret too much over this brother. It shall come good. Bless you.
