Goodday e-fam Please is there anyone in this Canny journey, or knows anyone in it who studied Dentistry? - What are the requirements for evaluation of credentials and which body does that? - The person is an accompanying spouse and she says one of her friends there had to go back to school for 2years before she could practice. That the path for dentists is different from that of medical doctors. How credible is this please? - Which province(s) would most likely favor people in such careers?
Personal experiences would be appreciated too. Thanks fam. |

TEECANN: Maternal has said it all.
Bro, if it is 200k/mth that you are really earning in here in naija, please don't even bother, just pack your luggage and move immediately to Canny soon as you get your CoPR....I was waiting to read 1million naira/month from you ...and even at that, guys that I know that are within 1million/month salary region are not even thinking it twice. In Lagos, living within decent standards, 900k-1million/month is just barely covering the mammoth list of expenses and family responsibilities that you have to contend with, so much that these my guys with that type of inflows are still complaining like small boys like us.
@Beube, how many kids do you have and what is your NOC and job experience area? Drop these info and I can say some things more...however, my bro, on expense for expense, quality of life for quality of life (including the kids' future), suffering for suffering...generally speaking, I guarantee you, you will be better of on the long run in Canada, If you can weather that 1st 10months to 1 year, then you are in! (None of my friends that have left returned out of not being able to survive, that says something. )
On the job issue, trust your God and your abilities...don't expect an immediate miracle (it may happen though), plan for 10-12 months of "no job" period in Canada...fill this time with a strategically lined up activities to engage yourself in, which should be directed at your getting a job before the expiration of that waiting period.
Go to Canada with savings ready for the first 10 months for rent, feeding and other basic utilities for your family.
Regarding the bolded above, I laugh.... . Nigerians and "projects" and this really got me thinking....Hmmmm
Let me ask you a question, what makes us do the things we do in this part of the world?- our type of society!
Most of us grew to know that the system does not have a social buffer/fall back for us...nothing! So when God finally answer our prayers and we get a job, we start the rat race....acquire, acquire, acquire...lands, start building, build more, buy more lands, never having a life of relaxation and enjoyment at any point in time, no specially planned family vacation, not really doing what we love to do at any point in time...some even console themselves that they are doing the several projects so that their children will not suffer...all these are understandable because of the peculiarities of our society...
Whenever I talk with friends on this Canny hustle, I always advice.. whenever you cross over to Canada, "Try to question your Nigerian Acquired Value systems...what makes you do what you have always known to be what to do? Is it right?, Is it fueled by fear of the unknown? or that wanton Blackman's egoistic gratifications? Why do we chase after so much material acquisitions and millions here? Will all these Nigerian Acquired Valuesystem be necessary where the system (Canny) is working and has your back in the event of a worse case scenario?
Take the opportunity of this relocation and a re-starting of life, to re-choose our life preferences, query what drives us--to amass the millions, wanting to oppress and show off or what? Rebuild your valuesystem in line with sane society best practices, volunteer your time in a cause you are passionate about, help people consciously (go out of your way to exhibit those fine behaviors and integrity known with most oyinbos, consciously do these to make them become part of you because from home, it is not naturally in our DNA to do these)...our kids will generally be on a good path civility-wise by virtue of that environment but we also have a duty to guide them properly with the good parts of our African traditional values (not everything from our society is bad, our culture is rich and imbibing it is beautiful! )
(WHEN you reevaluate your life drive and restructure it appropriately according to sanity of a developed society, one thing is certain, you will be calm, contented and fulfilled. Trust me, whenever you come visiting Nigeria in the next 5 years, you will look at colleagues that you left behind and be sad, not because you are richer than them (in fact they may even be monetarily richer than you), you will be sad because all you are seeing are old friends still chasing the "rat" in the same race, not having really realized the taste of contentment and a fulfilled life all the years you were away!
I even told some that if I decide to go to work on my bicycle in Naija, some that don't know me will say "Ehyah, poverty has really dealt this man a big blow, God will help him soon " Those that know me will say "He is so stingy to even himself, we know he can buy a jeep and look at him, he is using bicycle to the office"
But if I critically take look at my need in Canada and decide to go to my office some blocks away on my bicycle, I'm sure nobody will give a hoot, even if I am a manager there and the office tea girl is driving a Range Rover to the office everyday...that is valuesystem modifications!
God bless us all!
It will all end in praise IJN How I wish I could like this post multiple times.
Brother, I have copied, saved, printed, laminated and filed this purpose redefining expository message. I know I'll need it someday in the future and I shall show it to my kids too. There's no aspect of sanity (as regards the subject matter) that you didn't touch, be it subtly or impliedly. GOD BLESS YOU. |

That's exactly what I've decided but I also intend to include W since cost of remarking won't change and chances of a refund better. Anyone here living in PH that might be of help to me in January? einsteino: it is rare to get any change on Listening, but it does happen a few times. I would advise that you add your Writing and perhaps Speaking to the requested sections to be remarked; just to at least widen your chances of getting a refund if the Listening remains the same.

Vanillaskin: Please I want to pay for my IELTS exam, can I make a transfer from any bank account I went to their website and saw this
1. Bank transfer from First Bank, Guaranty Trust Bank or Zenith Bank using the appropriate under-listed account numbers, plus the code for month of exams (table below) and last two digits of the International Passport Number.
So I'm kinda confused Men and brethren, what is the confusion in this statement above again? This is simple and straightforward instruction - they only accept transfers from the stated banks. With the way the (unique) account numbers are generated, I'm certain that no other bank that's not in a contractual relationship with BC would process your payment.
Please play safe |

Newmum0615: Good morning my people, please I need answers to these questions. 1. Can I modify an info on my profile post-ITA but before eAPR? I realized I mixed up my job titles. Can I do it now before I continue my application, the way I could before the ITA came or must I continue the application, modify the info then save and exit till when I am fully ready to submit my application at the end of January? And will I need to include an LOE to explain why I am changing the title names? I am already planning to change my NOC post-ITA. Errm... I do not have an ITA yet so someone else might be able to answer that 2. Hubby's passport bears only his first name and surname, no middle name. I entered the pool with it like that, but I want to know if I can change it to reflect his middle name since we have an affidavit covering his middle name. Must his name be entered exactly the way it is on his travel document or can an affidavit be uploaded to show the reason for the disparity?Just let your stuff be the way they are unless there's something special about the middle name that you do not want to miss out on
Biko, help me answer. Thanks. |

happytbaby: I don't have a passport here and cannot remember if they have passport number on all pages. If I were you, I would scan that page to show you were back in Nigeria and not add any LOE, keep it simple, if they notice, they will ask, you will then explain that the immigration officer made a mistake . They do have passport number perforated on all the pages in the booklet |

Muslimity: Hello All,
Please, I am new here but need guidance from those who have experienced the issue of date of birth printed on transcript which is different from passport. I have not registered with WES yet but I need help of how I can align the DOB with my all my documents. Has anybody have his university (mine is UNN) changed this before? What is the way to go about it. Please help guide me. Thanks. If you must change this, there are two possibilities: 1. Changing the DoB on your transcript: This would require you sending in a request to the registrar/exams and records department for an update on your records. This will of course trigger a senate approval process since your current result (and bio data) passed through same before your certificate was issued. This as you may rightly guess would take a lot of time with comparatively minimal cost implication. I know this because I also made a similar inquiry, but was related to correction of some grades which ended up plummeting my CGPA. I decided to ditch the idea (tentatively) after the woman in the records office gave me this breakdown. Well at least, the error didn't change my class of degree.
2. Effecting the change on your passport: I do not have the exact amount on my fingertips right now but you can check the immigration website to see the amount and other requirements for change/correction of passport particulars. Chances are that this would take a pretty long time when you process in Lagos towards the end of the year. So I'd advice that you go to some other reasonable state's passport office to initiate the procedure albeit, it would still have to go to Abuja in any case.
I'd advise anyway that if you have sat for IELTS it would be wiser to go through the first option since BC only authenticates candidates' information from their international passport. They must've picked your DoB too and the last thing you want to be faced with is being questioned for conflicting information on your various documents
If you mustn't, kindly IGNORE. I do not think WES has any business verifying your DoB or school reg number. They should be more concerned about your academic credential evaluation |

Kontagious: As little as 0.5 less in any of 8777 takes about 55-60 points off your score. A minimum of 8777 will give him the needed boost to surpass draws of that period. I believe retaking the IELTS was all he did. You have innocently succeeded in increasing temperature levels ahead of Friday's release of IELTS results
