Herbephe1: I agree with some of your points, but I will never allow any of my children to study biochemistry, l ignorantly chose it in jamb with the hope of transferring to medical course, but here in kd, the transfer is only meant for indigen, lately I was given mls at sokoto federal University (udus) but insecurity is really discouraging!!
Okay bro. Sorry about the situation. I can totally relate.
33bandit: there can never be a time were nigeria or anywhere in the world would be without hospitals ..i think you just want to argue for argument sake not that youre interested in exploring nuances
You clearly didn't even understand my post. Your hasty desire to counter my line of argument made sure of that.
Doctors simply thrive majorly in hospitals but pharmacists thrive both in hospitals and outside it. At the end the whole efforts, pharmacists have more opportunities than doctors. QED!
Tilykay: This is your opinion and it doesn't count here. The person on the front page just spoke about his decision and you came all out to compare doctors and pharmacist.. haba?
It doesn't count and you are chalking up my comments? Chaiii. Anyways, we are in a public forum and I have equal rights to express my opinion. He did compare doctors to other health professionals and i just mirrored his submissions.
As for me, give me pharmacists and take doctors. I have doctors as relations and friends who I love and admire, but pharmacy appeals more to me. Cos you tend to achieve more in shorter time when compared to medicine
sgtponzihater1: Whoever told you that Doctors left Nigeria because they couldn't pass consultancy exams need psychological evaluation big time. Specialty exams in USA or UK is far more exhaustive than that of Nigeria, with their curriculum far more robust and up to date. It also no easy feat getting into those system.
Medicine also confers much more status than Pharmacy all over. Pharmacist probably make a lot of money because health care in Nigeria is largely unregulated, what then happens if things change.
In all I still advice people to do what they love to do. If the aim is to travel abroad, Nursing probably provides the softest landing.
Cheer and all the best
I like your healthy and mature line of argument anyways, but i still stand by my earlier submissions. I love pharmacy more than medicine. Peace.
All I know that every human being is capable of great wickedness. Such that you will begin to ask yourself afterwards, did I really do that? Imagine the scenario where you have to revenge the killing of your mum, kid as in loved ones. You could even double up on the original acts committed by your antagonists.
atheistandproud: Fast charging is not very understood by a lot us, but it is a blessing. This is especially true for those of us who are always busy, on the move or in the third world. Yes, the power supply that “First-Wolders” take for granted is a mirage to many. So up steps Fast Charge to save the day. But hold on a minute, is fast charge the gift that keeps on giving or is there a dark side to it? What are the advantages and disadvantages of fast charge?
Advantages and Disadvantages of fast charge
Advantages
Speed. The ability to charge your phone in say less than an hour, when it would have taken several hours is a dream come true for a lot of people. This especially true when your power supply is rationed and/or you can only afford to keep a power generator on for a few hours. This way, it also saves money and time. If you are always on the move and do not have a power bank, those couple minutes of fast charge time will give you considerable juice to keep going till you get home. Simply put, fast charge is a life saver.
Fast charge technologies have also caused an arms race between manufacturers. These guys are basically working their asses off to give us the fastest charging at the best affordable prices. This arms race also improves battery technology, giving us bigger and better batteries with higher capacities that last longer.
Disadvantages
Unfortunately, it is not entirely smooth sailing when it comes to using fast charging. There are certain drawbacks to it.
The most obvious one is that you use up your battery’s charge cycles faster and as a result speed up the age of your battery. The faster you charge and discharge, the faster you run out of charge cycles.
Fast charging usually means that the fast charger is pumping your battery full of current and causing electrons to travel to the anode at great speeds. These speeds sometimes can mess up the battery chemistry at the anode. The battery (anode) may be too slow to cope with speed of the incoming electrons and as such may not store them properly. This leads to loss of battery capacity due to wasted or lost electrons. The faster the charging, the faster the loss of battery capacity. If a 4,000 mAh battery is consistently fast charged, after one year, it loses about 1,000mAh (25% of its full capacity). Its new capacity is now 3,000mAh.
This is why iPhones do not have fast charge. They use cheaper li-ion batteries that tend to lose capacity quicker. If they add fast charge on top. That 3,500mAh go turn 2,500mAh or less in a year and in a year and six months, battery don pack up.
Fast charging also makes a battery susceptible to overheating. This is even worsened when the phone is charged wearing a case in a hot environment or being used while charging. Heat destroys battery chemistry very quickly.
Fast charge also makes a battery prone to overcharging as the charging chip on the charger or phone, sometimes may not respond in time to cut off the current.
Putting all of the above factors leads to faster battery degradation and a shorter battery lifespan.
So is it all doom and gloom? Absolutely not, fast charging technology is still a lifesaver and a very effective tool for charging but it should be used sparingly and with caution. As much as possible try to stick to lower fast chargers like 15W or 18W. This should ensure that your battery lasts longer and works better.
Charmingrascal: Obviously the Police will not respond to any security situation in the East at the moment. Armed robbers and cultists will be on rampage, Ebubeagu should deal with such threats while ESN face Fulani terrorists and military aggression in the South East.
Any attempt by Ebube to fight ESN will have deadly consequences on Ebube.

33bandit: tbh ba ..without mincing words a degree in medicine is better ..right from housemanship money don dey flow ..
"Money don dey flow" indeed!! By that statement it means depending only on what you are paid. Of course you are well paid in housemanship especially if you are doing it in the federal hospital. Likewise same thing for a pharmacist and other health professionals..
The area where pharmacists trump doctors is street hustle. Without hospitals few doctors will live comfortably but without hospitals, pharmacists are steps ahead. Retailership, distributorship, production etc makes all the difference..
....I've had a similar encounter which im inundated to share . I grew up in a loving family tbh there wasn't a case of tyranny or blackmail ,my parents just try to give you enough reasons why you should do certain things until you run out of arguments to buttress why you don't think their discisions is or was rather the right one
anyways I had passion for technical drawing during the course of secondary school ,I was one of the best students in that art form ,however my first jamb which I registered and had applied architecture was a disaster, although I could remember vividly we was in a friendly competition as to who would secure admission first coupled with the pressure of writing waec and neco
I think I discovered nairaland during that time because we scout the internet throughout the night with our illegal phones looking for who would send the waec expo ,shit was wild tbh
long story short after being shown the realities of the job market in nigeria and using alot of relatives as examples loooool ..I finally settled for medicine..im an average student ,that is to say I've to work hard befor I get good grades ...,not naturally high IQ for those who care about the neurological aspect ,thats what it is
wrote jamb 5 times and now I'm here ..did I regret studying med? ..never did, there are challenges but whatever it is ,it would be worth it .
the job market for medical sci graduate is wide and one does not have to be at the hospital everyday to have that fulfilment ,some of my seniors are now teachers in the dept . thing is medicine just propels you to a second class citizen immediately you graduate as far as ones parents would fully support them to study medicine I don't see reasons why they should refuse that offer ,shit is expensive anyway .
whatever you do in nigeria ..passion is never enough ,just do what works ,this isn't anyway deride people who have followed their passion and made it
there's always a percentage lads .
NB I didnt edit this ,time no dey!
Adonbilivit ho haa! Anyways for me, I would rather study pharmacy than medicine. Reason being pharmacists achieve more in shorter periods after graduation than doctors. Pharmacy can thrive anywhere but a doctor needs some sort of synergy and help to make it soon. Apart from the Federal Hospitals where doctors are heavily pampered right from their days of housemanship to consultancy, pharmacists are already on the move with or without the hospitals after their internship.
I have many pharmacy friends who are into sales representative stuff, retail and different kind of supplies. They supply drugs to different locations with different demands. Also, once you have drugs, an illness is half cured. And there are consultant pharmacists who are good in what they do that you may not readily need a doctor. Those pharmacology and pharmacodynamics versed guys etc.
As for those saying doctors are in high demand abroad, even so are other health professionals. A consultant doctor friend once revealed that majority of the doctors who travel abroad are those who have been sitting for their consultancy exams repeatedly and not passing it, they moved overseas. I know someone who spent about 5 years but couldn't get his consultancy. He is now in Saudi Arabia. Several of them are in UK too.
The OP is one reason there is so much bitterness existing between doctors and other health professionals. For people like him, it's usually a status thing. I know some village guys who read medicine in school because their families were hell bent on having a doctor as a status symbol. Against someone whose parents allowed to naturally chose medicine as a course, you will see different exhibition of class, temperament, and carriage etc. IT'S VERY WRONG TO CHOOSE A COURSE FOR YOUR CHILDREN AGAINST THEIR NATURAL ABILITIES AND POTENTIALS..
Okortor: I do tell my guy's to FEAR WOMEN. More reason I prefer to help my fellow man than helping a woman. Tomorrow she might change it to something else and we all know it's a female's world n according to one low budget ASS here @sapphire. The future is FeMaLe
As bible sef talk; hell hath no fury as a woman's scorn.

gidgiddy: In the video below, it is is alleged that unknown gunmen attacked Ehime, Mbano, Police command, Imo state, and set it ablaze. After the gunmen destroyed the place, they emerged and were openly hailed by the locals. The gunmen departed while firing into the air, and were followed by some Okada riders and even children.
Nice one. I am really happy for this guy. Remember those his early beginnings in the streets of Owerri. Destiny may be delayed but can definitely not be denied. I pray and hope he maintains that cos it seems he has finally matured to a deadly strike. Every player has their time of maturation.
superjab247: I have experienced a form of sexual Harrassment from women recently initially I ignored it but I think I should share it here because it's doesn't look coincidental anymore.
Whenever I board a car or public transport,I noticed something.women sometimes use their boobs to press against my arms.initially I ignored it but I discovered that these actions are deliberate, recently I was in a bus and in between two ladies, they where both using their boobs to press against my shoulders. They purposely refused to adjust themselves and that was how my shoulder and arms pressed against these ladies breasts until I got to my destination.
Guys had u experienced this, what can I do about it.
Women can be selfish eh. From pretending to joy liking sex, to making one look like the initiator of the sexual move they original made. Cunning daughters of Eve.
My own is that from my teenage years, women will seize opportunities to touch my chest and biceps and shoulders, especially those perks muscles. I used to take it as nothing before, not until about 3 ladies at my workplace in particular usually touch my chest, different from each other sha, as in when I am with a particular one of each of them in different places.. One of them who is busty loves to touch my chest eh.
With time, I realised that I was letting them get away with what a man cannot easily do to a woman. I had to jokingly tell one of them one day that she should leave me alone cos I am some lady's guy just as she was someone's wife. She laughed it off. And she was smacking my buttocks in that particular scenario. But if a man does half of those things, they will broadcast it.
Last night, the people of Orji in Imo State came under armed robbery attacks, and they watched and wept helplessly as nobody came to their rescue. At mid morning of today, some POS agents at Akwakuma Junction by Mbieri Road in Owerri were attacked by armed robbers, and all they had were looted. Day after day, bank customers are ambushed in Orlu and robbed. Across the State, everyone now walks the streets with bated breath and sleeps with one eye open.
The perplexity however is that nobody can tell for sure the whereabouts of Chief Hope Uzodinma, who is supposed to be the chief security officer of the State. Nobody knows where he is. Some say he has gone to Abuja in search of safety. Others suspect that he has moved into exile. Yet, some others opine that the Omuma-born politician might have simply resigned. There is confusion everywhere.
Today in Imo, each day brings a sorrow which the next day steals away.
It smacks of insensitivity and abdication of responsibility for the helmsman of Imo State to search for cover when he is the cover the people should be searching for. Imo people need to hear from their supposed governor. They need to be reassured. They need to be shown the roadmap to peace. They need those in office to justify their salaries and allowances by discharging their duties. The first duty of government is the protection of lives and property. In the face of rampaging threats to the lives and property of Imo people, they ask with tears in their eyes: "Where is Hope Uzodinma?"
To heighten the apprehension of Imo people, Uzodinma was conspicuously absent in the Enugu meeting over the weekend which was convoked by the South East Governors' Forum and Ohanaeze Ndigbo to seek remedy to the insecurity that has engulfed the region. Considering that Imo State is the worst hit by this insecurity dung pig in the region, the absence of Uzodinma easily connotes his distain for the very same lives and property he ought to protect.
Leaders solve problems, and today Imo people are left to their fate by those who pretend to leadership. Let Uzodinma know that the lives of Imo people are in his hands to protect, and his refusal to protect them speaks volumes about who he is to them: an oppressor, never a leader!
This reportage seems over bloated though. No civil molestation so far..

koondog: IPOB Emma Powerful released a statement praising Channels TV for airing his interview despite all threats from the Fulani government. " We have been critical of you all these years but when you do something commendable, we will commend you."
Your suspension by the Fulani oligarchy government through NBC, is a testament of what we IPOB have been preaching all these years. If you keep quiet when evil is being done to others, eventually that evil will catch up to you. They banned IPOB because we were speaking the truth all these years, and now, they realized you are speaking the truth, they silenced you as well.
They decided to suspend you because you courageously aired our interview that provided another side of the coin of what transpired on the day one of our ESN commander was assassinated. What are they afraid of? Because they know the facts laid out on that interview is far more credible than the lies they have been circulating around.
Channels TV, you must stand strong against this tyranny and evil government bent on undermining freedom of speech to pave way for the fulanization of everyone. This is a rare opportunity at your disposal to toll on the path of Dele Giwa, by fearlessly telling this government " you cannot undermine our freedom of speech."
