You can order for goods worth more than $100 in two ways. Either get an Access bank card which can do $300/month or open a domiciliary account and fund with dollars.

Prices displayed in AliExpress is not what you will pay. That price is always lower than bank rate. It's best to use ₦480/$ exchange rate (if you are using a naira denominated debit card). Or whatever rate you sourced your dollar for (for domiciliary account holders).

Chinese love their holidays so much and don't usually joke with it, cos it's a time to get off hardwork. However I have had seller ship my items and even responded to my messages during their holidays. So I usually don't fret or under pressure if I place order within that period, except I need the item urgently and it is a must that it be shipped at once. In most cases, I haven't experienced shipping delays during their holidays.

Oh yeah. Never in too much of a hurry to get items I buy here.

Chinese Holiday is not a good time to buy things. Always be mindful of that. All businesses are shut during this 2-3 weeks, so any orders during this period will only be shipped after the holiday.

It is not the seller's fault.

I guess I'm lucky, made an order yesterday. Item was shipped today. I know their holidays ends on 8th February, I guess my seller needs that dollar

Chat the seller and negotiate the shipping. Many won't agree though, but some may. Give it a shot.

Same with mine. I ordered in November and since December 6 it has been stuck on arrived at destination country. I sent a mail to nipost but that Prince Adeyemi told me my parcels are not with them. Nipost and Singapore Post put together is a bad combination.

I always wondered why most of their mails, of late, has issues.

Singapore Post is not known to be fast. My 30th November order is still showing "Arrived at Destination Country" since December 22nd. I just wished the seller used Speedaf, there is a possibility I'll be using the item since 20th December last year. Let's hope it doesn't "disappear" as the second package to do that last year (got refund by the way) by same SG post guys.

Bought the type that works with 4 cells. It was good while it works, until I packed it up for storage for about 7 months or so, when I brought it out for use, it was dead.

Anyway Aliexpress don't use Nipost in Abuja anymore, they use private logistic company owned by one Chinese man, they will even deliver it to u at home days before expected delivery day.

If it's under warranty, don't even bother to open the inverter as it may void the warranty. Just pack it up and send it back to the place you bought it from.

Either you go the BDC route or you get someone to transfer dollar to your account. I don't even know if the latter still works. But you can always ask your bank.

The 36k they refunded was the value written on the receipt. Reason is this: I won The bid I placed on the auction of $74 at 420/$1 that time. Now, they stated that their insurance policy can only cover , the cost of the item as declared, including shipping fees. Not including customs duty at a rate of 405/$1.

Whereas, I paid 22,000 naira as both shipment and customs duty.

Then I told them, I'm not really interested in money, that I just need the phone. They insisted that, that's the policy of their insurance company. I even gave them over a month to still look for the item.

Oh, I see the loophole they exploited. That's really bad, a Google search of their company can show this bad review. The world is now a pretty small place. I guess left for me to recommend, I'd suggest you let it go, as it may not worth further efforts to keep pursuing it. Better luck next time.

Bro, I'm just confused. The amount they refunded for phone worth 150k in naija is 36k.

I kept quiet because, I don't have oil to grease the palm of NPF. I honestly feel cheated. I have all evidences of payments and proof of ownership.

I don't just like stress, but the stress I went through to secure that stuff to naija, with all my sleepless nights, coupled with the unfavorable naira to dollar rate, I don't think I'll let this slide.

I don't mind refunding the meagre 36k they paid as insurance. I'm not quite sure how to take up the case, and how much it'll cost me next year.

I don't understand, why did they refund ₦36k for a ₦150k phone? Did you under declare the value of the phone? Also, why did you accept the ₦36k they paid? Or is there some terms and condition by the said "insurance" to pay some percentage of the value of the product in the event of a loss? This does not feel right to me.

If you take it up legally, you'd surely pay more than ₦150k. I've once spent ₦500k on a legal case involving ₦10k (not trying to get the ₦10k back but to get the person involved in the deal freed). It's simply crazy how frustrating slow the legal system in Nigeria is and how some crooked lawyers benefit off it.

I messaged the seller and she/he said I was the one that damaged the motherboard. The seller has refused to reply my messages since aliexpress mark the dispute as invalid

Ok, that's bad. The seller will never reply you now...no incentive to, they've got paid. Give the seller the 1 star they deserve. That's the only thing you can do now. Though I know once they get loads of 1 star they just simply close that link and open another one; AliExpress really makes it easy for Chinese.

Eg I bought a Poco X3 Pro phone that never arrived, I got refunded, yesterday I wanted to leave a review, noticed the link now has "Item not available" on it.

So all other bad reviews (especially from Nigerians) that never received their phone are simply gone.

You can go to your bank and request for another card ...it'll cost you about ₦1050. Tell the bank you have lost the Verve card and now insist on getting either a Visa or MasterCard. The best way to do this thing is to do it yourself so you don't open yourself to scams. It's pretty simple and straightforward.
