Pls can you help me other for a product in Aliexpress?... I'll love to chat with u on WhatsApp
I can help you show you how to order, unfortunately all my cards are always maxed out (Nigeria naira debit card has dollar limit of between $300 to $100 per month). I max these out in first week of every month. Feel free to ask your questions here. I'll try my best to answer em.

PLEASE HELP!
3.5kva 48v Felicity Inverter, 60A TriStar Mppt and 4pcs of 230Ah Genus tubular batteries with balancer installed.
Since the batteries has been on ground for months, I knew the batteries will be suffering from sulphation. So i decided to set 15.7v for equalisation and 15.1v, 14.9v, 14.5v and 14.7v were shown on Voltmeter.
After 3hrs, the readings returned to 14.4v, 14.1v, 13.8v and 14.1v.
This readings maintained till 5pm due to dull weather.
I went out by 5pm and returned by 6pm to see the readings 12.3v, 12.4v, 11.9v and 12.3v.
I've Not placed any load on the system since morning.
Though I don't know the idle power consumption of this inverter but I'm worried about the sudden drop in voltage.
Is it because the battery wasn't floating?

Could battery deviation has a role in voltage sudden dropping?

Since I've equalised it today, do I still need to equalise it again tomorrow?
If you have a 12v charger, consider paralleling all the 4 batteries and charging it overnight. It once solved an issue a friend had with his four 200ah lead acid batteries.

But if after this you still continued having different voltages, you may consider running a battery test as one or two of the batteries may be failing.

A crude way to run a battery test that I've seen work several times is to fully charge the batteries, put a load of about 500w on the inverter and wait for the inverter to indicate battery low, quickly measure the battery terminal voltage. If any of the battery dropped to below 10.5v, you may consider such battery bad. grin

Just ordered these on the 24th of this month nd the delivery date is on 7th of February.

Is there a possibility that they'll arrive on the 3rd week of January? Really them need badly on time.
It's possible if shipped by Speedaf ...you'll know as your tracking number will start from NG....and ends in R.

Eg my last order was made in 21st of November, I got it in 26th of December.

Another before this was made in 31st October and got delivered in 18th November.

At least now you get the picture.

Hi, I have never ordered anything b4 on Ali express.
I want to order a laptop keyboard for my laptop. It seems cheaper there. I want to know long it takes to get it delivered to Ondo state. Thanks
Logistics is never a very precise game, you may order and get it in two weeks, one month, two months, or even never. The thing is to have this info at the back of your mind while ordering so you don't get too much disappointed. But the good news is you stand a good chance to get your money back if tracking shows you never collected the item after 75-90 days period.

I've ordered keyboard for laptops like thrice, I got all of them under six weeks. But that's just my experience, yours may arrive faster or later.

PS: read the description well before you order so you don't order Russian keyboard or even the wrong keyboard. When in doubt, ask the seller. It even got to the point I uploaded my own keyboard pictures for seller to confirm they have it grin

Goodluck

I have lost a dispute worth $220. I bought a motherboard from a seller in aliexpress, paying via multiple orders since my card then was $100 limit. The motherboard didn't work and all the dispute was to the seller favour, aliexpress decided to release the payment to the seller. Please, Is there a way I can get my money back?
Sorry for the loss. Is this your first time buying from AE? Did the board have good reviews? You would've easily won the dispute if it wasn't delivered. But next time do a video of you opening the package and installing the motherboard. That will help strengthen your dispute case. AE often side with sellers as buyers sometimes ain't saints either. As some buyers can easily swap what was gotten with defective part to get their money back.

Sadly, once the final decision is made, you can't get your money back. What was the seller's response when you chatted them up prior to opening dispute? Did they ignore you or did they ask for evidence?

I actually need about four dozens or more, so I felt getting from a foreign platform would be better. But thank you for pointing this out. Do you have an idea where I can get this, in bulk, locally?
Ok, if you are buying in foreign platform, it'll be cheaper to buy and ship via sea using third party shipper. The truth is I don't really know where you can buy that many in Nigeria.

But consider buying from Alibaba (you gotta do loads of research before making a buy) then ship via sea.

Yes, but the shipping cost will be huge. Why not consider buying it locally?

Gurus in the house, please someone introduced me to a new brand Xtrapower; they have inverters, lithium batteries , charge controllers and other renewable solar products. Please has anybody used any of their products or have a review of them . Please help me before I enter one chance. Thanks
The MPPT charge controller appear to be iPanda or POWMR or whatever name the seller wants it to answer grin You can see it is also XTRA Power. cheesy

The MPPT is not a bad one. But as for the solar panels and lithium batteries, I can't really tell of their quality, but going by the seller slapping their name on generic brand of an MPPT, the solar panel and lithium battery could likely be just another generic Chinese brand whose seller is willing to slap any name you want on it.

Want to help someone order from AliExpress with on his own account but I have registered my card (first Bank) on my account ....if I use my account on his own... Will the card be blocked if I use it on another account
No, you can pay for another person without AliExpress blocking your account. Just remember not to SAVE your card details after making the purchase. So that the person won't continue using your card grin

To check if your card is saved...go to Account
under Services you'll see Wallet ..click it. Then click My Credit/Debit Cards click on Remove to remove your card...Goodluck cool

It seems yours isn't of the best stock. I have two solar lights that have functioned quite well for over one year. They light up with constant intensity from dusk till dawn. One started acting up about 3 weeks ago (it lights up thru the daytime when it's charging but goes off at night probably after the battery must have been depleted during daytime). It also became non responsive to the remote. What I did was simply to get a replacement circuit at less than 1k5 and fixed it.

The circuits are damn cheap on AliExpress and you an DIY these lights yourself with a cheap 6v 5w solar panel (around 3k on Konga/Jumia) and two or three pieces of 18650 (BMS protected) cells depending on the duration of lighting you want. The BMS you will need is 1s Li-ion which is also under 150 naira.

Another one I DIYed has two protected 18650s and lights up from dusk till dawn with constant intensity.
What's the name of this light? Please screenshot it

I was preparing to buy a few of the same Street Lights after the New Year festivities and would have trusted the Seller on his Warranty Claims but l guess he would also turn around to tell me It is just sheer deception designed to sell the product!

This does not speak well of the Seller at all, and all those who act like That.
Till our people know that business requires making some sacrifices. Ever since my Chinese seller did that warranty replacement, I've recommended their products to at least 7, out of which 5 actually made a purchase. Nothing beats knowing your seller got you covered should things go awry.

sorry for your loss bro. unfortunately not everyone who comes to post here is really a solar enthusiast.
most are here just to make profit and that's it. they are not necessarily grounded in the products they're selling.
going forward, any seller who just comes to dump adverts on the thread and vanishes into thin air should be
avoided at all cost. they don't weigh in on discussions. they don't offer any suggestions on problem solving.
they are just business focused. chances are that they don't know much about what they are selling and will be
very unlikely to help you sort out your issues if you call them up on any product purchased from them.
a word is enough for the wise...
I've had Chinese living in far away China honour the warranty they gave. One even honoured it after 18 months in a 2 year warranty that I thought was one year grin

Most people in Nigeria find it extremely difficult to honour warranty. It becomes extremely difficult to truly believe their warranty claims as they mostly will not hold their end of the bargain when things goes south.

I understand some solar product marketers may not know much about the product they are selling, but that does not in any way exempt them from giving a warranty claim and reneging on the same promise; that's fraudulent.

I usually just order from the manufacturers.

I get the best quality (Nigerian importers tend to bring in lower quality stuff for more profits) and they've always sent replacement parts to me if their products fail within warranty (which is rare).

I suspect it's poor sealing damaging the lamps so likely water.

I'd expect the vendor to at least offer to take them in and fix and reseal if they won't be replaced.

I've fixed a couple myself and I'm not a technician.
Please do drop the brand name of this awesome solar all-in-one street light which you've experienced to be a great product?

Doing business with most Nigerians is so tough. Most of the times it usually ends up with one partner losing. We really need a sort of escrow in Nairaland, too many business gone scam is all I see. That's why it's super hard for me to recommend any business I see here as most will end up in clients losing money. This is not how it should be!

That is not necessarily the case. 'Object routed' on Aliexpress status simply means that your item has been forwarded or directed to another destination, and from that very destination it will be sent to the final destination which is the recipient country.
Ok.

I received my orders today through Speedaf.

I ordered 7 different items on 18th November 2021.

This morning, a number called me twice and I missed the call. I called the number back, and he asked me in my tribal language if I'm at my address that I have parcel from AliExpress. I said no that I'm in another part of the city. He asked me if we can meet somewhere close to where I am. I said yes.

We met and I saw his bike written Speedaf. He was inside one restaurant like that calling everyone.

I signed the paper and took my parcel. He didn't request anything. I was touched. I asked him to follow me to my car so that I will tip him.

Ordered on 18th November. Received on 10th December.

Stress free.

This is good.

I've been to Alaba twice this week.

It seems we now have new ratings for solar panels now.

What used to be....

100W is now 150W.
200W is now 250W.
250W is now 300W

....and so on!
This is why I'm always suspicious of spec sheets attached to most things. The other day someone asked me if a cable is 240mm², told the dude I can only see they have it written 240mm² on the wire's insulation sheath. That cable may be 200mm² in real life grin

J think its the mate 30 pro that's making me biased. The battery is so good i often forget it needs to be charged so i don't want to go from that to something that'll easily frustrate me. 4xl may be better than 4a but opinions I've seen so far is that it's not great compared to other flagships.

I'll just jejely try a pixel only when i can afford the 6 or have spare cash to just quickly play with the 4xl without making it my daily phone
If you wait long enough the 7 will be out.

The thing is Google makes phone with highly optimised OS, I'm a current user of Google Pixel 3XL phone. My 128GB is almost filled, just had only less than 4GB remaining. Phone still as fast as it was two years ago when I bought it.

I may upgrade to 4XL as my cousin so much likes the phone and I may just hand it over grin

Lol don't buy the pixel 4XL. The battery isn't great at all. A 5 is even better if you get a good deal.

Buy a 4a instead. Cheaper, smaller and great batter life.
This view is contrary to most reviews I've seen on 4xl being the one with the better battery life. huh

Good evening house...

Anybody here with honest review on NXT INDEX battery? How reliable is it?

And any idea of the absorption and float voltage levels? Thanks
No idea the floating or absorption voltage levels of this battery, but there's a location I've seen these batteries for years, they just keep using it until there was a fire incidence (caused by AC) that burnt the location.

It was in operation for a good 4 years before the fire, no downtime whatsoever.

So I'll say it's a good battery grin
