Sorry about your Blue Carbon experience. I nearly bought them from Alibaba like some years back before they made it to Nigeria, but something appeared off about em and I didn't go through with the payment.

There is a probability that a cell may be bad in the set up. You can easily pinpoint this if you have a Bluetooth BMS which states the parameters of each cell.

Please do not give money to a new username. Only deal with people that are reputable. DIYing this ish is not as hard as it appears. Cheers.

Telsa uses 21700 battery which is a modification of 18650 to have higher energy density and reduce weight. LiFePO4 has a larger size though has higher cycle life but reduces efficiency due to total weight of the vehicle.
All battery voltage drop on usage, the voltage drop is dependant on load current and battery AH or capacity.

Every RE person knows that battery voltage drops with use. There is a difference between the way liFePO4 battery and lithium ion polymer cell voltage drops during usage.

You may just have to use the two to understand and see for yourself.

me sef, am interested. the ones listed on alibaba are confusing too. i need a basic one, maybe mctfoct should share the type he have.

Just check for the following

1) Motor size/type ...go for Bafang motor back hub drive ...not really a fan of mid drive motors

2) Battery size...anything above 10AH is good @ 48V

3) Shock type ...Mozo shock rocks

4) Tire size (with time I noticed 26*3.0 tire has the best grip for both offroad and city riding). The four inch tire looks cool especially when riding sandy paths, but sucks when doing city riding

Also ensure it has Pedal Assist as well as a throttle (if you wanna go lazy and go full electric).

Digital displays are awesome. If it's gear type look out for Shimano for that smooth shifting.

I also love my ebike to have a rear carrier...Bought one without one, a pain when you want to carry some stuff . Had to correct that mistake in my next purchase.

I think the best battery for ebike or any electric vehicle is 18650 lithium batteries. Even telsa uses it because it has higher energy capacity.
480 pieces of 2.6ah of 18650 should give you 59.2v normal voltage and 67.2 at full charge. Which is about 4617.6wh or 4.6kwh.
If you were in Abuja I would have source for the battery and make one for you.

Tesla doesn't use the run of the mill type of 18650, he's forever tweaking the batteries Tesla uses. Tesla did this when it introduced the 2170 cell with the Model 3 and Powerwall. This cylinder was 21 millimeters by 70 millimeters rather than the 18 by 65 dimensions of the 18650 cell.

The lithium ion batteries you mentioned has a higher energy density thus more compact but since the type is probably lithium ion it has a shorter cycle life (500 to 1000 cycles against 2500 to 3500 cycles of lifepo4) . The only disadvantage I see with running with lifepo4 prismatic cells is just bigger size and weight.

Remember as lithium ion discharges, the voltage drops which leads to the ebike running slower, but with lifepo4 prismatic cells, you have the full voltage till almost the battery cut off, so the ebike motor is almost seeing that peak voltage and thus outputs higher performance.

Also I charge my lifepo4 prismatic cell ebike battery at half the time I charge my lithium ion battery.

FYI: I've used both lithium ion and lifepo4 on an ebike, the difference is super clear.

You may consider going the DIY route. I have a 48V 10AH battery for my ebike, when I wanted longer range I had to go the DIY route. I sourced 3.2v 22ah batteries from China and upgrade to 48v 22AH...best money I spent. I doubled the range and performance

I think you should buy lifepo4 cells and BMS and run it yourself. It's not that hard. You'd get a better bang for your buck that way. DIY all the way

There is a very likelihood you won't get the money even after 20 business days. Download the attached PDF and fill it and email their contact centre to help you get your refund faster. These days Access Bank is pretty slow in processing refunds. Goodluck.

Simply means payment process is been done by AE, so stay calm.

That was before, from my last experience I never got the refund even after 24 business days not until I initiated a manual refund process by contacting their customer service.

The brand is not a bad brand. I've, once upon a time when lead acid ruled the space, used 4 numbers of 200AH of same brand which was fairly used and it lasted for 3 years plus. I got lucky as the one I bought was truly fairly used. I can't say if the one you want to buy is truly "fairly" used or "brutally" used before being sold.

I'll recommend getting a good guarantee (something like money back if after two weeks you don't like what you see). But I know this type of warranty is like selling ice cubes to an Eskimo , e hard

They may not. But I've had sellers in AliExpress send package to an agent in China and they got paid via AliExpress platform. In China, there are no rules, the only thing that rules is often cash

Imagine even in the tracking, there was initial problem with shipping out the item, and that was documented. But it seems to have scaled that hurdle sha. I seriously hope this problem with shipping will not befall it the rest of the way.

But then on a second though, note that the tracking number reads EX.....SG. This is the first time I have seen EX. I am used to RB...SG, which seems to mean "Regular". Could the "EX" mean "Expedited" which means it is expected to be quite fast?

But even if it is, so far it goes thru NIPOST, an expedited item that takes three days to get to Nigeria will take another three months under NIPOST to get delivered to its destination within Nigeria.
