Search for reputable third party shipper to avoid crazy custom duty or outright theft of your device when it enters Nigeria.

Also you are better off reactivating your GTB as they are often preferred to the likes of Eco Bank for international dollar payment using naira denominated account.

Sometimes, the order might have been shipped but haven't been updated on the app. So, it's normal. AliExpress won't even address your complaint of you report such case except for a valid reason. [/color]

I know, the annoying ones are those ones that will ship immediately you cancel. Maybe your cancellation pushes them to update. I've only had one time a seller did this, other times I hardly place order on items I don't want to buy.

The thing is AE protects more of sellers than buyers. Alibaba don't even protect buyers one bit. Lol.

Most things I bought on Alibaba missed their review period and Alibaba closes review before I got the items. So I can't even review, the last item I bought, they closed the order and I gave the seller 3 star. Seller chatted me and told me to update it to 5 stars because the "boss is angry with her". Lol.

You can only update review once. I told her I'll only update it when I get my item. She insisted that I change it, I pointed out to her that I only have one chance to edit my review, that I'll do that once I see the product. She wasn't happy, but how do they expect me to give 5 stars on an item I'm yet to see?

I see Amazon allows buyers to update reviews 3 years after buying an item, that's what I like. They'll only give you 45 days or 30 days and you can't review again.

Alibaba and AE are just there to make sellers rich, so every person should do solid research before clicking buy, because if the item is bad, you can't even ship it back as cost of shipping is simply outrageous.

What do you mean by "charging sensors"? Do you mean the charging contact points (that metallic connection that makes contact with the pins in the charging case) ? Also your photos ain't in focus, so kinda hard to see what you mean.

He is sure of 1 star, they don't care. AE makes opening a new account easy for sellers. Once an account has many 1 star reviews, they'll close and open another with a new name.

I don't understand why many AE sellers are like the bolded. You'll cancel an order they refused to ship after 8 days, the next day you'll see "Shipped"

If you don't get your product and tracking shows you didnt, you'll very likely get your money back.

Extra charge is something you can't really tell until items arrive in Nigeria. You can also avoid all the drama when you use a third party shipper. I don't as a matter of principle, recommend any third party shipping company as I'm not affiliated with any. This is because in logistics things often don't turn out the way we want and I don't want anyone saying that I was the one that recommended any. Always do your own research before using any. The rule is never to use any random person that claims to ship as they are likely scammers. Use reputable ones that have been around and have loads of reviews. Cheers.

18$ for the cost of item plus 44$ for shipping, the item was sent to me as a sample so I can purchase the product in the future.

And I paid the 18$ for the hair to be wigged but the hair is free, I was told that custom revalued the package and said it worth 200$

Next time use third party shipper, they may be slower but you don't have to experience any issues with custom and crazy duties.

Most of those huge discount you see on 11.11 ain't real. To get a real deal, you should've already known the price of what you want to buy prior to 11.11 or you'll end up buying goods that was inflated days before 11.11, and then "heavily discounted" for the 11.11

Eg this earbud was originally $42.64 from this store...but due to 11:11 they have raised it to $43.48 so you can get an 11:11 "discount" .

Personally, I can't even think of what exactly is going on but I know aliexpress bears the loss. This is because AliExpress standard shipping is handled by aliexpress themselves and it means the seller has to deliver the item to them, then they deliver it to the buyer, with this, the seller is free of any dispute.
If there is a logistics issue with such order, you will speak directly to AliExpress and the seller won't be included.
You will get refund and the seller will also be paid.
When I had my issue, the seller personally asked me to file for a refund and get my money. If he knew he'd be at loss he'd never had told me that lol.

About the items not getting scanned or getting missing (mostly phones) often and often because I know a lot of people have been experiencing it from past and others will still experience it. It's getting too much, it can't be a coincidence. Some particular sets of people are deliberately taking these items and isolating them somewhere for a reason I don't know.

The problem with public service of this nature is that it often lacks control. Nobody checks or oversees the affairs of these workers. Also it appears there is no channel to file a grievance. Eg which mail can one send mail to, or which phone number can one call to report a missing item that tracking showed arrived Nigeria?

Even if there are mail address or contacts, they are often unmonitored. Nobody really cares, this country's affairs is running on autopilot and those in charge are in the cockpits popping champagne while the aircraft spirals outta control.

So this type of behaviour breeds impunity, so every worker is now their own boss. No one questions or checkmates them. Sadly, most expensive items like phones that lands Nigeria will continue to "disappear" as those in charge are invisible and there is zero place one can go to raise alarm. The only time alarm is been raised is mostly from within, until a principled or no nonsense staff report these rogues or happenings, everyone is now under the mercy of these crooks who it appeared had tasted honey and realised it is much sweeter than water


The next thing that may happen is that AliExpress phone sellers will blacklist Nigeria. Who will blame them when they do? AE may advise them not to ship to Nigeria as the items will likely get lost in transit. Then who loses? The same Nigeria. I rest my case.

I've used both Pixel 2XL and 3XL. I did not see much difference performance wise or in terms of photography. I surely loved both as even after two years phone never lags and photographic prowess of both are just off the charts!

About the customs, their matter is out of hand, a lot of people have complained about this same issue and it hasn't been resolved. Sometimes it's not even customs that will hold your goods, it's Nipost workers. Some will say they didn't see it while in some cases they will open your package, remove the phone from the box and leave the charger and phone case for you inside the phone box. When you happily collect your package, you will open and won't find the phone..
I think someone here said something like that recently.
It's just insane bro

I guess we can concluded that someone or a group of people in the customs are stealing or seizing items that are supposed to be delivered.
But it didn't just start today it has been ongoing for several years.
Any phone ordered now is 50/50.

About the refund, sincerely I was skeptical about it, I doubted if I would be paid because of the "Arrived at destination country" status but I spoke to the seller before that and he told me to seek for a refund and I will be compensated.
So here it is.
The seller is quite helpful.

Buyer will have to wait out the protection period before applying for a refund. This is nüts! Do Nigerian custom have a right to just seize phone? Phones these days amongst banned items? Someone there is just plainly stealing these items and getting away with it

Yes (it's more or less the same rate), No (I believe there's no limit even if it's beyond $200. After all my goal was to go beyond $100) and Yes (it's very much capped at $3,000, at least that's what's said in their website).

Hey bro, I still haven't or rather, I didn't get it because recently my buyer protection time has elapsed (75 days) and I have reached out to AliExpress to request for my refund.
Thankfully, it has been approved.
Now I wait for my refund to drop.

For those who might not know, I ordered a phone, Poco x3 pro from Xiaomi Authorised Store and after waiting for 75 days it didn't get to me. Last shipment status was "Received by the delivery company" and "Arrived at destination country".

Thanks to all that have assisted me in one way or the other, I can't tag anyone because I can't remember their names.

Bro, we have been doing this for quite a while. Even if tracking is shown, you won't be able to see more than you see on the screenshot. The incompetent people on NIPOST is saying they don't know where the package is currently at after sending them mail. Naija is just built to frustrate people. The buyer na first buyer and is kinda worried, I'm not overtly worried as all hopes are not yet lost
