Abi o, I have been looking for the moniker mention but nothing
The post I quoted has the name. He's just a low end scam artist. Not worthy to be feared, but definitely worthy to be avoided in any transaction relating to TV.

I had a similar experience with the guy and I even opened a thread about his scam. Once in a while, I see new "likes and shares" on my old thread and smile to myself knowing that another "mugu" has entered his trap.

He has many accounts on nairaland to upvote himself and attack those who complain about his scams. I believe that is why he has survived so far. For me, he sold a 55" LG to me for 170K some years back. He brought the TV down himself protectively packed like a dead body. When we set the TV up, it had several thick and unsightly lines which were not in the picture he showed to me while we were negotiating. He pretended that the line got there as a result of movement during transportation which I knew was a lie having personally transported TV almost unprotected on the back seat of my car from Alaba to Ibadan at least twice with no damage.
Well, bad news travels fast. The reviews are pouring in. He can only scam those who did not do due diligence by a simple nairaland search.

Damn! This is crazy.

As to him knowing how to take nice pictures of TV to look attractive and you get sent something that looks old, i suspect (just an assumption) that he probably takes pictures of the good ones from some nearby shop, then sends the scam down to the buyer.

The easiest ones for 'em to fix and sell as good are LG products because of high demand and availability of cheap and imitation spare parts.

The Modus Operandi with your guy and with me looks like variations of a specific script.
Well, I wouldn't put it pass what he and others can do who in their bid to make more money, obviously short-change their customers and put it down to them being smart.

pls I want opinion on this lithium battery pack .....I saw an ads of lifpo pack of 768kwh bank (60ah)@165k with 1kv modified sinwave inverter. is it advisable? compared to deepcycle set up
I'll like to think you mean 768WH. That's almost 1kwh. I would've said not too bad until I saw the inverter is a modified sine wave inverter. At least kudos for seller for showing all the works. Some will just mention that's it's a 12V 1kva inverter without stating the output waveform format.

My question is this, you mentioned lithium batteries. What type of lithium batteries? Li-on or lifepo4? Also, you did not mention the make of the cells? Or if they are brand new or cells built from discarded laptop batteries.

All these will allow us make assessment of how bad or good the deal is.

Got picture of setup? Please share.

I indeed fell flat for the scams on LGTV in one of the TV threads on the TV section, dealing with one Acunon guy like that. Of course what attracted me to the TV was the apparent power efficiency not minding the fact that it was fairly used. Plus the touted claim by the guy that fairly used foreign (Europe) TVs generally including the ones he sells are much more energy efficient and better than the new models sent down to Nigeria by the original LG manufacturers themselves. In fact he claims that European and US version of all TV manufacturers are far better than the versions sent to Africa and Nigeria from the same manufacturer because of the laxity of our standard organisations; a claim which made sense of course.

And so I saw this 42 inch model he advertised as 2019 edition and the specs he claimed were so inviting. I googled it and boy, I read more attractive specs. It's a smart TV with much more specs than a 60 inch Hisense smart I've had for 2 years which I thought was a great hit.

Sent him 85k and I must confess I was already imagining the smart life I was gonna have with this stuff. I was gonna be able to Netflix, browse the net and watch music videos at night with Bluetooth earphones on without disturbing wifey's sleep, WiFi direct, sorround sound etc.

Third day, it arrived and I was shocked! See scratches here and there. And I was like WTF! I read some reviews from sellers that the TVs he sent to 'em were as good as new, so what on earth was this?

On further examination, I saw clear signs (screw holes and labels and plastic edges) that indicated this thing was worked on. The model number on the sticker was even different from the model number on the damn screen!

Okay, I convinced myself that as long as the internals provided me with what I wanted, I can live with the flaws of the outside.

I come start to Netflix o, na in I get another shocker. Netflix was just blurry video. Okay lemme mirror my phone, same blurry response on the TV screen. Ah! Wàhálà dey. I come start to dey Google diagnostics on day one of purchasing a TV. Suggestions showed that either the screen resolution of the TV was incompatible with Netflix or my phone's 1080p movie resolution. Sho! For a Full HD TV! This pointed to the fact that the screen may have been replaced with a 720p type. Another is that the board may have been replaced with one that does not support that full 1080p resolution.

I contacted the guy and he was telling me some technical stuffs that weren't so convincing, me being a tech geek myself but I still tried to believe him with the hope that things will be good. I updated the TV to the latest firmware as he suggested but the nonsense no stop. After updates, the buttons of the included remote decided not to work accordingly.

To cut a long story short, the TV was indeed useless to me, so he asked me to send it back and being a meticulous person, I packed it veeeery well and included more protective layers than he sent it down with.

Dude called me after and claimed that the TV I sent back now had a line on one side of the screen. How does a TV develop such within 72hrs for goodness sake? Well, all I just aimed at was getting back the money even if not in full. So I settled for 55k payback from this dude (that's 30k less within 5 days). I was pissed with myself for expecting so much from such arrangement, so the following day out of annoyance I went to pick up a "made for Nigeria and Africa" android TV from a walk in shop for 132k and I've had rest of mind using it ever since.

What I learnt from that experience was that most fairly used and maybe new LG and few Sony products are easily repairable and imitated in the Nigerian market because of the high demand for such. In fact, fake and Chinese made replacement boards and screens for such abound in Alaba so it's quite easy for guys to couple boards and TV screens from different models into a casing from a totally different model and just slap a sticker from another desired model on it, then sell to unsuspecting victims like me. It's sad.

This story is fairly long, but it was a traumatic experience for me and I licked my wound in silence that time. This event by my friend here just unlocked the memory and I can really identify with his pain and disappointment too.
That dude you mentioned is a low-key scam artist. He knows how to take pictures of TVs to make it look inviting while the real deal is so bad you wonder if it's a different tv. Same dude sold TV to a guy I know and it arrived without remote. TV that was touted to be super flat screen appear like the energy guzzler LCD TVs of the early 2000's era. It was supposed to come with remote and he surprisingly "forgot" to add it. Quality of the TV is just poor. At best the owner had to go to a local dealership and got himself a tv. Ended up sending the scrap he sold as 2019 TV to the village. Did I mention that this same fraud waybilled this tv and somehow "forgot" to pay for it even though he has collected the waybill fee?

These days I won't advise anyone to buy tv from that dude or even try any "fairly" used tv as there is no fair deal with em. As usual he'll only read this review and disappear back to his thread without saying jack.

I disagree, no one is a baby you should make your research your self before buying a product. Besides it was greed that brought the buyer to just emmanuel.
Every nigerian knows fouani is the original importer of genuine lg products, but he chose alaba boys because of price.
Warning only buy from alaba boys when you have done your own investigation. This is greed plain...just emmanuel don start.
Well, some of us may not know what the original looks like before now except via it's performance. But after this, most are more enlightened. But the dealers should know what they are selling is fake. We shouldn't always blame the victims, the blame should always be directed to the appropriate quarters- the perpetrators.

Just Emmanuel have been advertising LG inverter ac for sale. I bought 2 from him, only to realize that this AC's are not made by LG and they don't have inverter compressor. See the the pictures below. The company that manufactured the AC is called LGEFF Electronics. I tried googling about this company and came up with nothing. After installing it, the AC behaved exactly like the normal AC with a normal surge. The LG logo print on the AC is poorly done. Each time I compare these AC's with the ones I bought from LG outlet(Fouani), there is a world of difference. I wasted money. I would have bought Hisense inverter AC for the same price. I called just Emmanuel and told him about all my observation, he was insisting the AC is made by LG & it has inverter compressor.
I also bought 10mm2 PV cable from him at a very cheap price, only to discover that, it's not 10mm2 but somewhere btw 6mm2 & 8mm2. Olopan can bear witness. I personally will never have any dealing with Just Emmanuel.
The website LGEFF.com does not exist, and I think that's a big red flag. Nigerians will always collaborate with Chinese to copy any goods doing well and try to pass it off as original. Thanks for bringing it here as I'll be wary when buying ACs. Never knew that they now fake those! Damn. I thought that the clones (a.k.a 1:1 if you ask the Chinese) are more in the battery section.

Anyways justcallmanuel, come and explain to the house who LGEFF is. I don Google tire.

If this company/dude wants to refund you, all they need you to do is ship the products back and send you another working one. I don't understand why they want the user's phone information. Ain't the company getting the bad batteries back?

I've had a company in same China, replace a bad controller without physically seeing the damaged one. All they saw were videos and pictures of the bad one and the next thing I got was a call from the UPS to pick another controller FREE of any charge (shipping and whatsoever).

I think the WECO guys do not want to replace the bad batteries, instead they want to "fix" it which is impossible as it stands now.

This is why some fear dealing with some Chinese companies, they find it hard to honor warranty. They often behave like sellers in most Nigerian markets that'll tell you that their product has a one year warranty, if it fails in six months, they'll start telling you you caused the failure (even when all you did was use it without being abusive to it). They simply HATE to honor warranty.

I just bought some device which a Chinese told me I have two years warranty on the lithium batteries that comes with it, I laugh. The best I can hope for is pray that the device does not fail within that period, for I know they won't be honouring any thing.

Gurus,I need your input.
A system that will carry 4 250w freezers with I fridge of 150w and TV 100w for 6hours per day. NEPA is available for the rest of the day with an automatic changeover. Pls what inverter size, battery bank(gel) am I looking at. Please ....really need your input.thanks
Just like the last person mentioned you will need a good high capacity inverter from 5kw and up to make this happen. In addition, you may also need a delay timer that is staggered so that these 5 freezers do not start at the SAME time. My 110w and 130w fridge during starting can surge up to above 1.3kw. Or if they must start at the same time, you need an inverter with high surge capacity tolerance.

About battery requirement, you will need at least 8 nos of 12v 200ah battery. I'll encourage you to go the solar route too and only run these five refrigerators during the sunny period (10am to 3pm) to ensure the batteries are not too depleted which may affect their number of cycles (lifespan).

Thank you sir but please sir, list all the things I need to buy, including solar panels and how much I should budget, I want to write it down before contacting them, please sir...
I'm a bit out of touch with current prices of the things you need. But these are the things you'll need.

1) An inverter (hopefully a pure sine wave)

2) A battery

3) A solar charge controller (they are of two types PWM and MPPT) MPPT is more efficient when you are running many panels (from 4 and upwards)

4) Solar panels (they are rated in watts, the bigger the wattage the higher the cost)

5) Accessories such as breakers (a sort of a switch) wires, and solar panel mount (eg aluminium profiles if mounting on roof)

I guess that about covers it, my ogas below can now list the cost of these. Gracias
