The importance of an SPD can't be over emphasise,
A client called earlier today sounding stressed that her house nearly burnt down, because the washing machine went berserk.

After independent check by three different electricians, it was discovered that there was a surge from the grid and the washing machine which was connected on the grid/heavy consumption panel took the hit.

Our installation is still kicking and performing like it should.

Thank you Sir for taking time to educate. I always tell my clients that if you have solar in mind when you want to build, it's necessary you consider most of the things you've touched on.

Essentially, if you want the array to be roof mounted,
then you have to ensure your roof design is solar compatible. Let the pitch or slope make sense and not look like something that will kill the installer. A slope of between 6⁰ -30⁰ will be perfect. I'm always scared when I have to do installation for clients with the send down the rain roofing.

I also would advise them to make the most of the sun's trajectory if possible so that their roof can face east and west. They would get the best results that way (I stand to be corrected).

If they prefer ground mounts, you could also advise on types of ground mounts that they can opt for, eg. Carport etc.

Having a separate DB for inverter loads is also part of what you'd advise.

Now I want to buy from him again but he's not ready to list the items on AliExpress....he said they don't use AliExpress for such items with lots of money, and I am not ready to send over 1m to someone I don't know beyond whatsapp....

please how can I go around such transaction. I urgently need the parts.

I visited a client yesterday and right from d staircase I could smell acid from batteries. I quickly ran up to check up the batteries only to find out that all 4 batteries are hot including the cables from solar panels and the bottom part of d cc was a bit hot too.
However, I disconnected one cable from d panels from d cc bc I suspected overcharging.

N.B : A freezer was connected to it during this ordeal.

Inverter is hybrid 2.4kva psw mercury.

Pls wat could b d problem?
