I own the JK BMS with 2A balance current. Pretty nice and versatile.

A neighbour bought the 300A Daly BMS, will arrive this week.

Is it advisable buying air condition (AC) from AE?

Anyone with d experience
Lol. The shipping will cost you more than you'll pay for an air-conditioner here. It's only ok if the AC is a special type not available in Nigeria like some of those DC powered AC.

How did you send it from PO to airport then China? Was it a smooth process or lots of patience, and did the seller give his address for the Post Office to know where it's going?
Shipping via post is not as cheap as it was when I used it last. Last week that I shipped back an item, it was an electronic weighing less than 300g. The regular registered post said I should pay ₦14,000. EMS bill came to about ₦26,000. But after deliberation. I decided to use DHL, though costlier but it got to China in a week.

But the last time I used regular post, it took about a month plus to reach China. Also it was cheap then (below ₦7,000), just before their June 1st 2021 NIPOST tariff increment.

Of course you'll discuss with the seller and they'll give you their postal address in China before you ship.

Well have been using a local agent for like 5yrs now and they have never failed me. Because have bought a market worth over 500k from Alibaba and ask them to send it to my local forwarder in China mainland and in under 4 weeks I got all my items. Well it's everyone choice , use who you are comfortable with
I do use third party shipper too. But I won't recommend any of em as their services are mostly not that great.

This is just because we still lack cheaper shipping for heavy goods (from 10kg to 200kg) via AE or Alibaba
Technology MarketRe: This Thread Is Only For Aliexpress Shopper by mctfopt: 6:49am On Jul 05, 2021
twicenoni:
First, AE takes time so I particularly don't like it and at times it's almost the same amount with the local agents too and if u use AE at times your item might not get here completely or few might be damage before it get to you sef
Well, after more than 400+ items received, I'm yet to see any of my items get lost. The few (less than five) that tracking showed item did not leave China, I got full refund.

Third party agents are ok (if you see genuine ones) but remember that they don't offer any escrow, if your goods get lost you run the risk of not being refunded or even for unknown third party guys to outrightly not deliver, after all if they don't deliver what will you do? Go to China and arrest 'em?

As for AE goods taking time to get here, I've had a third party shipper last year ship goods for me in April and goods got to me in November. These are goods worth six figures, at a time I wrote it off as goods forever lost. This is logistics, anything can happen.

Finally, third party shipping is ok if you find an ok shipper, but you can't make it appear as if it is not without risks.

Why are you guys using an aliexpress shipping agent? It will take long before you get your item when you can use Nigeria agent to send your item to Nigeria fast under 1 week for none battery or Bluetooth items. At least I still know like 3 trusted Nigerian agent that are in China and have office at ikeja and ajao estate
Ehmmmm...first reason people use AE shipping is that it comes with escrow...do the "trusted" shippers offer same too?

Secondly, pricing. How cheap do these agents ship? As you already know AE shipping is often cheaper than any other methods employed especially for goods below 2kg.

So far, it's been performing and the Chinese Engineers that installed the equipment said its okay. I'm still monitoring it closely.
Thanks
That's awesome. A good three phase inverter with a good AVR hardly gives any issues.

I have not yet carried out a capacity test, maybe later in the week, i'd just turn of my Grid and solar input, then go from full charge and see how much energy the inverter records as output over the course of the day.
I'm currently using Bulk charging at 28.2v, Float at 27.2v, Max Charging Current at 40Amps, Equalization turned off on the MPP Solar. Any recommendations to improve on the settings are welcome biko.
I would have taken it apart just to see the insides, but the whole thing is riveted! angry angry, I'm sure this is to prevent warranty issues as well. Lmao.

From the ventilation silts, it appears it may be a Daly BMS inside it, although they seem to have sprayed their own name on it grin. Worst Case, I 'd rip it apart and install a BMS of choice, but do i really need to access the BMS? Not sure so far. Afterall, I was using Lead Acid before now.
So far though, I'd say not too bad for the price of a spleen @ #425,000, with a warranty of 5 years, not too bad at all.
I'm only glad you still have your heart after this payment grin

I like their packaging. Wish you can push more charging current into it. I guess you can't have it all. Please update the house when you have time to run a capacity test. I like the so many ways to kill the rat now available to Nigerians in the lifepo4 space.

Hi mctfopt,
I doubt every member need migrate to email to be enlightened. It's a vital info that everyone need to have access to.

Kindly find attached (Pic 1) what should be his layout based on the details he provided. With the looping method ensure the battery bank cables for +ve and - ve sides are NOT taken from the same string. Take one from the 1st string and the other from the last string. The first string shows the connections for a typical HA02 Battery Equalizer (or Balancer). The blue dotted lines are the links to form the "one giant bank". It ensure a more balanced setup, as he's rightly said. It must not necessarily be same size as the battery serial interconnecting links. The battery serial interconnecting link cable can be 35mm.sq or 50mm.sq, whereas the parallel interlink cable can just 6mm.sq or 10mm.sq (in Efuro's case). I also use 10mm.sq or 16mm.sq

Please, credit should go to oga Niyi... Sometime ago, I was faced with a serious unbalanced issue in a new setup for a client and Niyi took out time to explain this interlinking between paralleled strings. I've seen it depicted in HA02 manual but never give it a thought, until Niyi made it easy.
Accordingly, you can use 1#, instead of 2#, HA02 for a 2-string battery bank.

Moreover, Pic 2 is a better method to parallel the strings. Each string is independently paralleled with same length and same size cable to a common busbar... Cheers
This is complex. I doubt a picture would've done it justice. Thanks a lot for taking out time to drop a schematic. It now makes it easier for anyone to accomplish same following this your detailed drawing. Thanks a lot. Man will just have to spend more on wires, the cost of which pales in comparison to that you'll incur if you use the traditional 48v connection.

Thanks to all y'all sharing premium info for free grin

Good evening.

I want an advise from you.

I want to buy an item that weighs about 25kg from Aliexpress. How can they send it through to me through Nipost? Or is there any other cheaper and reliable way to send it down to Nigeria?
I'll suggest you use third party shipper. But note most of 'em will charge you approximately $10/kg to ship via air. I hope whatever it is is worth you spending $250. But if time is not such a major issue, you can also consider shipping via sea from these same third party shippers. But get ready for an approximate wait of three months (though most will say 50 to 60 days) by just add one more month so you don't get disappointed when the waiting gets longer (it usually does). I've not received any goods that weigh more than 2kg via regular NIPOST (as I find AliExpress shipping of such weight to be downright too expensive). As for third party shipper to use, I do not recommend any at the moment grin As all of them has one or two blackspot, but that does not mean they don't deliver, they do. Just manage your expectation.

House, I am getting really worried, I sent a Package from Europe to Nigeria on the 12 May, upon tracking the package it arrived Lagos on the 9th June this month and was handed over to customs a Lagos IMPC, till date that status has not changed, Anyone with experiences like this and what do you advice I do in this situation, it’s not usual in my opinion to have packages in Customs custody for such a long time is it?
I recently got a package from France.
Here's the timeline:

13th April 2021 ...Paid for package

28th April .....Package was shipped

16th June ...Picked package from EMS with their usual crazy charges attached.

It took a total of 49 days...That's 1 month and 18 days between when they shipped and when I received it. But between order and when it was shipped that's 64 days.

I didn't even bother to track the package.

Aaah it is nothing special. I got the looping idea from 24v fangpunsun battery balancer.
And tried it. Few months thereafter, I realised that Oga Niyiomolyunade understood the trick too because
He elaborated on it. He specifically said batteries will work like a giant battery bank. He was very correct. That was my experience too.
Coming to schema
At 48v, you have 5 pararell of 200A batteries making 48kwh of well balanced storage.
Just loop wire at every point of 12v , 24v & 36v across the 5 pararell. In my case I got 10mm wire for the looping
This looping across 5 pararell ensures that at each point of voltage eg 36v is 36v irrespective of place it is being pararelled whether it is string 2 or 5. Literally, looping balance out voltage vertically while equalisers balance out horizontally within each string.
Being DIY am pretty poor with explanation but I hope this suffices.

Edited
Mind you I said well balanced storage because my maximum over night need is just around 40% of the capacity (or 90% for 50% DOD rule for LA batteries which they're ) when on air conditioning. However, when not and it is just fans and lighting points, the bank is 98 to 100% charged the following morning. The daily cycle continues hopefully for the next 3yr having spent 3yr head on already. For now no fancy of lithium technology yet. I still dey ported to LA like the creator of this thread. So help God!
Thanks a lot for your explanation. Please can you add schema to help buttress this explanation?

It has been a while I touched a flooded battery but I am pretty sure you cannot randomly top up electrolyte after the initial fill up to commission the battery for use.

Electrolyte and distilled water are not interchangeable as far as I know.

If you were trying to rejuvenate a battery, one may add fresh electrolyte after first dumping the old fluids and 'flushing' the cells a few times or if there was some liquid spillage and the SG needed to be restored to spec one could add the right amount of electrolyte.
The reason I'm loving this forum is that premium info that you don't know you need but still get it at a freemium grin

Talking about electric cars in Nigeria, we just may have keyed in early than we anticipate with a new entrant into the fray. My statement is safely assuming ignoring the Hyundai Kona which is from mainstream car maker and with a base price on the high side.

Sorry, won't be able to post the link as the 5tvpid bot struck again with the main account concerning this same post.

Though 5 year battery life is kinda small, but for a start we can manage it if it's competitively priced. Nothing beats charging your EV from your renewable energy and hitting that road without a thought for gasoline. cool

Someone I know is currently building an electric tricycle. Bought the batteries, motor, and controllers in China. They will do a local fabrication of the body in Nigeria.

Not using 2v batteries oo. I run my setup on 20 solid units of 200A batteries at 48v
That large volume of batteries are well balanced using looping apart from using 5 equalisers. This prevent one battery running away from others. They dip and grow charge almost equally.
Damn, that's a huuuuuuuuuge bank of batteries. What make is this? If you have time you can share your schematic of your wiring.

Since ur curious to know.
I run 2 non inverter ACs on solar. 1.5 Hp in my sitting room (which come on day time from 10am to 4pm), 1hp in my bedroom (almost 24hrs or as I desire )
Am not yet on lithium technology because my 3yr old 1000AH lead acid serves me well on 6kw PV. My servere over nite dip has never gone below 48.4v in the last 3yr. I am practically of grid. My AEDC recharge of 3k still dey prepaid for almost a year now. I ask you do you think I need to buy electricity from dem? That their yeye 3k can only last me 3 to 4 days of using my bedroom AC.

So it is renewable all the way ooo. No regrets, except for fake products in the market.
That's good to hear. You guys are making this decision easy grin

What's the brand of the 2V 1000AH (I'm assuming it's 2v) and what system voltage are you running?

Those big capacity batteries usually pack a punch.
