yes I agree, the system is messed up, and the biggest victims of this system are those that will graduate with a good grade.

Because those people with poor grades already know what is waiting for them in the future if they dont think outside the box, but you see those people with good grades eh, most of them will earn up working for those with poor grades, very unfortunate

the problem is that this graduate always depend on their certificates rather than the knowledge they got from the university.

That is why an electrical engineering graduate will rather work in a bank than to start up an electrical based business because he did not get the knowledge of electrical engineering but rather he got the certificate.


We need to change our thinking from 'I want to get a good grade so that I can get a good job' to something like 'I want to go to the university to acquire the information needed to be a successful engineer or lawyer.'

For me, i don't think it is the fault of the student. Rather, the problem is the educational system in Nigeria.
They only teach you to read, remember, write and come out with good grades.

I posted something similar to this on my facebook page yesterday. There's a 50% chance of you securing a better future after graduation depending on what you studied in school. On the other hand, there's 98% chance of you securing a better future if you learn a trade, art or under go any apprenticeship program for a period of however.
