This neighbour of mine is pregnant with 6 other kids. She has been finding it difficult to feed her family including her 6 children. Her husband is an electrician and plumber but he hasn't been getting job inorder to take care of his family. The children had been out of school for several years

I live with my aunt who's a widow. I saw my aunt stressed out yesterday and worried and i was wondering what could be the problem. She was the one who told me about the woman predicament. My aunt has emptied her little foodstuffs because of this woman and her children. My aunt is just a poor widow who's managing herself and kids but she can't stand the sight of this woman and her children hungry.

My aunt told me the woman's friend advice her to inject the pregnancy through abortion. She's six months gone and according to those her friends even nine months pregnancy can be aborted provided she has the money and her state of mind is willing to not forceful

According to her friends, they felt that's the best decision she could consider due to her condition. She cannot even feed the ones on ground, they are not going to school and she's still carry twin right in her womb. She hasn't gotten any baby things. It was my aunt that took her for antenatal when the pregnancy was in 4 months stage. She has been so confused on what to do. My aunt wasn't in support of it though, same time she doesn't have money to support her and her children.

Nigeria isn't saner climes where government support the less privileges. She will be having 8 children in total if she chose not to abort it. What will become the fate of these innocent children? How will she survive with these children in Nigeria? She fainted yesterday and was rushed to the hospital. It was confirmed that she has been thinking so much and she doesn't eat well. This has affected her health conditions.

Her family and that of the husband had been so helpful according to her and it has really taken a toll on them. She even lost one of her uncle who has been supportive. This woman is sad, she's broken and shattered into pieces. I'm even scared of her life because she's not getting good medical attention for her condition. She doesn't eat well for herself and the foetus. I'm even bothered about her life, I sincerely hope all what she's going through wouldn't tell on her on the day of delivery.

Please what's your advice for this woman and her family

Women should know their duties in their homes as nurturers, after God is your husband then your kids. Am so sorry about your marriage. I think you need to closely watch her and pray for a way out of all this.

You still have a lot to change and do in life. Your patents did what they thought necessary for you. Pls don't blame them but understand that out of love they try to raise you the best way possible. For you to be able to save 270k means you're smart. You only need to look within yourself cos God never created anyone empty and He designed your path in life so all you need is within you. Well this is as a result of dieting, exercising and lack of sleep. Growing up I was a chubby girl but now above 30 I have a flat tummy lost a lot of weight. I know eat and sleep right.
Do alot of house chores to keep fit. Eating heavy in the morning by 10am and light at night by 7pm. Take fluid that helps speed up metabolism and at least fast once a week. Reduce or stop taking sugar for it increase one's craving for food.

Some Nigerian women just get lazy after marriage. Am not married yet but it took me 3 years of hard work to get from size 22 to 16 now loosing 8" off my waist, 6" off my hips and 4" off my bust. Pregnancy fat takes time to loose but eventually goes out with regular exercise or activities, wearing body shaper and eating right. Some black sisters can eat sha ohhhhhh. Lol. See you need to speak to your mum about it for your girlfriend if she can't cope she can bounce cos the moment you quit trying to get another one will she be patient after she has gotten the time she seeks from you during your waiting period. I've been working in this construction firm for the past five years together with taking care of my family and my girlfriend who has been in school but due to ASUU strike, now at home.
I'm usually busy and spend less time at home except on weekends - Sundays.
Recently, my girlfriend has been talking me into changing the nature of my work to another job that will afford me the opportunity to give more time to my family and her. I insisted that I'll need more time to be able to find another job but she will not have it that way.
Seems to spoke to my mother about it and it's now hell in the home with my mother threatening she will kill herself if I don't quit the job. This job is something I have used in completing my house and paying the fees of my girlfriend.
Lest I forget, I got the hint that my manager is considering me for a promotion and my quitting the job might just spell doom on me!

This has been my observation for so long now. Children who play a lot are tagged foolish and the inquisitive ones tagged talkative or I know it all not knowing that children need it the most. I have a friend who has 3 kids and is always scared of answering their questions, has no time to play with them nor teach them quantitative aptitude.
As the kids are sent to evening classes for extra lessons. A regular toddler starts school at age of 6months I.e creche, at age 2 kindergarten and so on and so forth. Leave home by 7am back from school by 3pm, evening lessons by 4pm to 6:30pm, watches Nickelodeon till they retire for the day etc. So how would critical thinking be developed. I have seen a lot of graduates who can't read, can't write an application letter, can't speak in public, can't even act right..... Leaders of tomorrow indeed.

As a retired man with meager money, I decided to manage a little business which barely gives me much money. One of these my children, a professional, though not teacher, is currently residing with me doing teaching job in different places as part time, pending when he would get a much better job.

The next generation of illiterates won't be people who didn't go to school, but people who can't learn, unlearn and relearn.

Try very hard to avoid a situation where your first child would be forced to grow up so fast and delve into the labour market (legal or illegal) just to raise cash to support the family.

Just try very hard.

Stay away from pressure people, or learn to control it.

Stay away from these clubs with hype men wey get uncontrollable mouth. They should do their jobs o, but stay away from them.
