@passion up. I am the one oh. I am only saying that we as lawyers should strive for the best. @olljay, thanks oh. I am wondering why that poster is doubting. I was only trying not to be arrogant. So i dont get why the poster is doubting. . |
Amsterdam and Rotterdam. |
Thats exactly what i need. Would get back to you. I would prefer a white or grey colour anyhow. |
I am interested in a Landrover freelander 2 doors with fanciful bars, or even maybe soft top. white with tinted glass or any other good colour. |
@the poster that said Mis Nnaji is not beautiful. I would say she is not the most beautiful girl around but when divine intervention strikes no body can stop you. Its her time to shine. There is time for everything under the sun. More grease to her able. May God intervene on our behlaf. Ask Jonathan and he will tell you that he is not the smartest or most qualified politician, but he is holding the highest political office in Nigeria. An office where people would kill, bath in cemetaries and all sorts, just to get there. The bible had said the race is not to the swiftest, but time and chance happeneth to , THIS SAYING IS ABSOLUTELY CORRECT. |
i did my post graduate there. Oh boy read and come back home. Nothing dey there. Tilburg is even worse. Its like a village unlike amsterdam. However, you can really enjoy life there whilst studying, but forget about work. |
i feel really bad that i cant help in this matter. |
I dont know what you guys are talking about. I Was called to bar in 2004. As a corper my first salary was 30k per month. After service, the same law firm was paying me 75k a month. I went abroad and did my masters and came back to that same law firm and was earning 125k per month. Now i am a legal adviser to a firm and i earn over 300k a month. It all boils down to your qualification and what you set out to achieve. I remember after making a 2-1 in university and law school, i told my self that i would work in one of the best law firms in Nigeria. I went to the internet, got names and started applying. I ended up in the one i like. Even now i am still writing a UK professional course, because in the next 2 years i want to be earning like 600k per month. Some lawyers run away from mathematics, even though the world is evolving towards risk management awareness and financial permutations for corporate survival. So, as lawyers, you have to be hardworking, determined and spend a fortune on your education and personal development. That way you wont end up earning peanuts. Recently, i wanted to employ a lawyer for my company and during the interviews, i was shocked at the level of performance and wondered if some even went to the same law school i passed through. How can i pay that person even 50k. Its waste of company funds. |

Its really funny how gullible people can be. |
I can't still believe this. Someone came to my office, cos there is an embassy in my office. He saw me at the door and told me he came to confirm if his visa was authentic. Without even looking at the passport, i took it to the consular officer, cos his secretary was not on seat. He looked at it and said that is a refusal. I went back to meet the applicant, and he said his agent applied for the visa for him after paying a deposit of N150,000.00 upon collection of the visa, he paid the balance. Guess what the agent told him was his visa: A REFUSAL, and still collected his balance N150,000.00. Na wah oh. |
@poster, I told you. Those questions are generic. Thats exactly what they ask for. Responses determine, to a large extend if the visa will be given. I have attended over 10 visa interviews both in Nigeria and also in Europe. The key thing is CONFIDENCE, CONFIDENCE AND CONFIDENCE. This is usually a function of who you are, for example if you have enough money to spend on clothes and generally appear nice, also your confidence usually builds up as a result of your exposure;either local or international. and lastly, you can also build confidence by just being an outright criminal( what i mean is that, you will smile, when you dont intend to smile, consistent lies come up on its own, etc etc.) These consular officers are just normal people. Believe me i have told a consular officer 9although a nigerian) that she shouldnt ask me for some of the documents she was asking, because i have been to the country whose embassy she works for and i am sure she hasnt been there. There were other things i said also that got her thinking. Poster, the tickest are not cheap at all. However, when you get a ticket quote, let me know to see if i can get it cheaper for you. |
Call Lawyer, moderator of properties section. He could help. |
Bros seun, I just saw your comment on this. Bros, 650k na small thing. Some of us eaern less than 2.5m per annum and pay 850k for three bedroom flat and still have to wake up at 5.30am. I wish i understand Lagos. |
Yes i am very interested. I am a lawyer and will like us to share ideas here. 1. Can local government validly charge tenememt rate; residential/commercial? i will like to get opinions from the house. |
@Jonnie, I watched that programme oh. LCC will face a lot of opposition when they commence tolling. However, my thinking is that based on the amount they will collect on that road, they will do anything to silent any opposition to the tolling. |
whats the meaning of check engine light on. Mine is always on. |
bigmodo! at least if you no fit reach london, you fit reach abriba. Thank God you are alive. I was scared for you when i read about the guy who boarded the tyre compartment to US. |
I HAVE NOT HAD A GOOD LAFF AS MUCH AS I DID READING THIS THREAD. My colleagues in the office actually thought i was losing it |
@ALL, My own story is with a fellow Nairander here (she knows herself). We met here and have done business several times. We have gone beyond business to even become family friends. The only thing is that we have not still met. When i went to london, we couldnt meet, when she came to Nigeria, we also could not meet. We transact business on trust and neither of us has betrayed that trust. There are still a lot of honest Nigerians, but a whole lot are really dubious, why?i dont know. |
Hey guys, i had already posted before i read your comments about me. Thank you very much. I actually travelled for a week. Its nice to see the road like that, but sincerely this is what Govt ought to be doing for us. Very soon they will say ELECTRICITY FOR LEKKI-AJAH AXIS: Pay as you go. Sincerley speaking i will rather pay more than to go through all this traffic stress and upon getting home, light issues. Talking about light, it seems to have improved a bit compared to previous year on year from 2007. Life is indeed getting better in LAGOS. ![]() |
Dear all, I am not a rich person, but if paying toll will allow me to sleep and not be woken up with an alarm, will allow me leave my office by 6pm and get home by 7pm, so be it. |
There is New 2 bedroom in my compound maybe the landlord can agree for 450k. Call me 08037178687. |
with your status change i am very positive about them giving you the visa. You can use hotel reservation. However, these guys dont even check any document. |
Are you the owner or agent? |
@ ALL. I never knew this was such an interesting thread until i got inside. Infact i was laughing all the way as i found out that we all face almost the same problems in Lagos. Infact i have even found out now, through this thread that i live in one of the poshest middle class enclave. WELCOME TO MY HOUSE: I live in thomas estate, Ajah. A very secluded part of thomas estate. In fact it is called Thomas GRA. Immediately you veer off from the expressway into my estate gate, you will think you are not in Lagos. Everywhere is sooooo calm, the only people you see outside are probably maiguards just hanging together infront of someone's house. In my estate, there is no commercial activity of whatever sort, nothing is allowed, not even sale of pure water. Coming down to my exact house- its a four flat compond built on two plots of land, so there is enough parking space for even 10 cars. Whenever there is a party, we do not need to go hire venue, we just use our compound. As for the maiguard same story all the time '' Oga i wan go village" and they never come back. As for pumping machine, we have been lucky, it doesnt go bad. The only issue i have is the noise of Generators when there is no light. Its really crazy. It doesnt make me sleep at night. Light ought to be good in the area, but i understand our transformer has a major problem due to over load. Each flat has a minimum of 4 airconditioners, so you can imagine. |
@Poster. My broda from another mother. I trust you are fine. Niger delta can never carry last. How much will that 406 cost me. Sorry i didnt get the odyssey through you. I had a terribly fantastic deal and had to pay immediately. I might still be tempted to buy the 406. Take care. You are toooooooo much. |
Pages 66 and 67 OF TODAY'S THISDAY NEWSPAPERS. |
Did you read the paid advertisement in thisday. The allegations really bothers me. Anyhow, we dont mind paying toll as long it is reasonable and it can put an end to the terrible traffic. @poster that made Ajah to Marina in 40 minutes. I am sure you left home very late. That monday was really very hectic. It was like everybody hit the road by 5am. VGC was blocked at 5.20am. These days i leave home by 7.30am and get to work by 9am. |
pictures please. |
Where exactly are these plots? |
Please do you have the DVD player that is detached from the deck itself. The type vans use. I am in need of one. |
