As a geologist though he tried to have even make a move unlike previous administrations that never made any move but a state like ondo lack the capacity to exploit bitumen at the moment even FG will not try it because its capital intensive and it will require to relocate all the indigins in that axis and the level of environmental impact involved in bitumen exploitation is massive. All this are jus cheap political scores for election, former gov Agagu is a geologist and he knew the risks involved in bitumen exploitation so he never indulge in that as its a waste of resources just Ajaokuta steel company.

So if is a waste of resources, why is Nigeria spending huge foreign currencies to import bitumen and asphalt from abroad to the detriment of our economy.

But thank the government has stopped the importation of the products recently and has mandated users to source for them locally.
