I spent my happy childhood in Ile Ife, but recently when I visited there, going through Moore to Enuwa, through Iremo to Lagere, I was terribly disappointed that the ancient city central roads have witnessed no major development. The city centre look more dilapidated, with crumbling old houses everywhere, poor road network running through the city.
