PoliticsRe: 60 Reps Seek Change From Presidential To Parliamentary System by membranus: 7:59am On Feb 15, 2024
Nwanna2588:
No, no, no, no, not nowadays when we've tried both. This was how things went down in the old days, like back in the First Republic. Even though I wasn't around then, I've read about it, and trust me, it's not good for us. If you're from the South and you're all for a parliamentary system in Nigeria, just know you're handing power over to the North. Plain and simple. The last time we tried it, Tafawa Balewa was the only Nigerian who held such a position, and we all know where he's from. It's a cycle that keeps repeating. I'm not against the North leading Nigeria, but I'm all for our federal character system. This just leads us away from it because sticking with the parliamentary system means the North will consistently hold the top spot in government, which goes against our federal character principle, or whatever you want to call it. So, let's stick with the style we've had since October 1st, 1979. Enough of this Westminster stuff they call responsible government. I don't see how responsible it is. If we can ditch most of their system and stick with the American style, we should. I'm not into that. It's anti-South, plain and simple!
Why is it anti South when it is the parties representatives that decide who becomes the PM? There is no single party holding the whole north, and besides the north is no more hegemonic as you thinks.

However I do not support the parliamentary system of government or the present presidential system. Let the regions divide and let them go their own ways. Or at least, let's restructure the government.

Chibuezem:
It's all hypocrisy, when a northerner (buhari) was in power despite how horrible things were the North endured it and even gave kudos to the government now a westerner is in and they decide to protest
The North still went ahead to support The present administration because of religious and tribalistic gains.....

The revolution that Nigeria will experience will come from the North losing its power of tribalism and religious wickedness over Nigeria.it will not come from SouthEast as we don't want it to be tagged as a coup or igbo movement or from the west because of tribalism too.
An average intelligent Nigerian in Nigeria should just prepare for the inevitable 'suffering' which may cause civil unrest once our tolerance of suffering is broken.
War is coming, let everyone get prepared.

All of them, Tinubu, Atiku or Obi are all from the same clan of polithiefcians that have contributed in putting the country into the present financial and poor infrastructural quagmire we are all inside.

All of them from the first republic to the present government should be rounded up and thrown into jail and left to rot there.

Zooposki:
Can't you place the 8m in palmpay's CashBox which generates a yield of 20% per annum, which is, 150,000k per month. You can add these to your salary and take care of your needs and use any extra to start a side hustle. This way you don't touch your principal but you are still generating income to take care of your needs.
In this country where Naira is losing its value everyday. This is a bad advice.

Like I said you are a youth with an undeveloped brain. Ask anyone from my generation we didn’t eat bread and rice the way you people do. In fact bread in secondary school and university was a last resort….a sign of extreme hunger just 1 step away from drinking garri. It is always the poor that think poor habits are a sign of good living.

What you are exhibiting is the mentality of a poor man who uses all his money to buy the latest iPhone thinking it is a badge of honour. But have you seen the phones rich people use….many of them will use the same phone for 5 years until it is dead dead. I don’t want to brag but the people and places our drivers and houseboys have met or been to, pray your generations will be opportuned to go to or to meet.

Let me give you some advice, rice, bread, indomie and soft drinks are some of the worst foods you can put in your mouth. Money or no money, rich or poor. Enlightened people know this which is why they don’t feed their kids these things but the poor and ignorant think it is a status symbol to eat bad food.
Fake, bogus and ego massaging narrative.

Oyinbo people that eat bread and flour products daily as staple foods, can you call them poor? Chinese and Italian people who eat pasta (Indomie) products as staples, will you term them poor? Indian and East Asian people that cannot do without rice daily, is it a poor man food to them?

Sometimes eating certain types of food constantly is just a matter of an adopted eating habit, and not a status symbol.

But for the lower cadre officers, who are not linked to the cash pipes, they are enough radicals among them who might be nursing rebellious thoughts.

Petro subsidy thief (Ote$), monopoly and FOREX thief (Dangote), and banking thief (Wigwe) are all friends. Their aim and objectives is to erase the Middle Class and make sure the Middle Class is wiped away and turned to Wretched Class.

The God of the masses is watching you all
So true.

All of them are greedy and wicked souls destroying the life of the poor.

The bank of the one that died sacked one of my family friends. He was a bullion driver with his bank for more than a decade, risking his life driving money around, day and night. His bank sacked him before the age of fifty, paid him a paltry 600k as a final retirement money, and gave him a wretched overused salon car, which the man has not able to use till date, despite spending a huge sum repairing it.

That's why I have little sympathy for the business moguls in Nigeria, because they always maltreat all their low cadre staff.

Jakumo:
Well sir, I accept this title of coward with gratitude and humility because I am keenly aware there is no private militia that can prevail for long in armed conflict against federal troops ordered into battle, and ultimately, the consquence of defeating any given group of Fulani land grabbers all too often leads to suffering a scorched-earth annihilation program implemented by federal troops whose commanders are ALL loyal to the Fulani hegemony that has prevailed in Nigeria's military hierarchy ever since the nation's civil war ended in the early 1970s.
I didn't mean to call you coward, sorry for that. I was only trying to say that anybody who continues to run away from an identified invader or pursuer should be termed thus.
CrimeRe: Four Cattle Herders Abducted, Killed In Ogun State by membranus: 6:40am On Feb 12, 2024
Jakumo:
Those of us who frequent rural areas of Nigeria and have experienced tense encounters with machete-wielding Fulani herdmen who never hesitate to approach and verbally challenge even those carrying hunter's guns, know first hand that these hungry looking men masqerading as cattle herdsmen have absolutely NO fear of guns and NO hesitance to engage in violent confrontation over land access disputes, be they real or instigated by the Fulanis themselves.

With this utterly fearless warrior mindset of the Fulani culture foremost in mind, I can state as a matter of absolute certainty that in the near future of less than 3 months, a MASSIVE and gratuitously blood-soaked nighttime armed reprisal will be launched by rampaging hordes of vengeful Fulani gunmen, possibly supported by Nigerian federal troops, laying to waste and ruination any or all inhabited farm settlements within a 3-mile radius of the location where the tortured bodies of several Fulani men were discovered. If I were a long-term resident of ANY location in Nigeria where murders of Fulani men have been committed, I would abandon my residence and move FAR away for at least a good calendar year.
Coward. For how long will you keep running away from those murdering your people, till eternity?

Are the herders spirits that you cannot destroyed? Are they not human beings like you? Are they the only fearless men on earth?

The Oke Ogun people in Oyo State faced them and destroyed their communal habitation, and chased them away. What happened? Nothing, but peace thereafter reigns.

You had better face your fears and overcome it, than running away from it. If you perish doing that, it is better than being a coward.
