Kobojunkie:I’m not looking to engage in a debate about my faith. This was intended to be a discussion of Christian beliefs; not an avenue for attacking the faith itself. You’re clearly making this about personal grievances with Christianity rather than engaging in a sincere dialogue. While you’re free to hold your views, mutual respect for differing perspectives is important. Do have a nice day! |
Kobojunkie:Sweetie, I asked about biblical submission in the face of abuse, not for a tired lecture blaming women for their own mistreatment. Theology should be able to tell the difference between submission and enduring maltreatment. |
Should a woman submit to a man who is cold, abusive or unfaithful; simply because he is her husband? |
idahme:"Prostitute" before ko? Is it not basically an anthem now? The default label weak guys throw around when a woman shakes their fragile ego. Abeg, you guys should come up with new phrases jor. This one has expired. Outdated. Overused. It’s even giving zero creativity. Virgin? Prostitute. Female pastor? Prostitute. Stay-at-home wife? Prostitute. Single babe? Prostitute. Working-class queen? Still prostitute. Are you people short on vocabulary or just suffering from linguistic poverty? Why use the same tired buzzword - “prostitute”; for every woman who refuses to shrink herself? Explore other options nah. |
Why not post a clearer picture of the person? |
Most of the time, women blame themselves when things go wrong in their marriage, but often it's not even their fault. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOzXFXJJy6M?si |
Most Nigerian men don’t want wives. They want unpaid maids they can control, sleep with, and call ‘virtuous. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOzXFXJJy6M?si |

I am writing this with tears in my eyes. Nigerian policemen have wasted my time and extorted money from me. If anything happens to me, hold the Nigerian police responsible, especially the Lagos State Commissioner of Police. He is a wicked and heartless man. Doesn't he understand how difficult it is to make money? Why has he decided to rob innocent citizens of their hard-earned income? The policemen stationed at the traffic point along Berger Expressway, linking Ibadan, are stopping people and falsely accusing them of running the traffic light. They claim that the Lagos Commissioner of Police received a directive from Governor Sanwo-Olu to collect ₦150,000 from traffic offenders as today’s fine. According to them, this was because a pregnant woman was hit by a car there. But how can you impose a fine of ₦150,000, an amount higher than the monthly minimum wage, on ordinary citizens? Governor Sanwo-Olu, if you truly gave this directive, it is deeply unfair. Why should a traffic light violation carry such an outrageous fine? And even if penalties must be enforced, why is this responsibility solely given to the police? Shouldn't there be CCTV cameras at every traffic light to ensure fairness and prevent innocent people from being falsely accused? The officers falsely accused the driver of running the traffic light. When I offered to let them speak to someone over the phone, they refused. They kept threatening to tow the vehicle, and due to the urgency of my journey, I had no choice but to follow their instructions. I was forced to accompany them to a POS center to withdraw money for them. This is nothing but daylight robbery. |
givedemwotowoto:One of the most costly mistakes you can make as a wife is choosing the wrong man as your husband. Marry a man who was raised to be a husband, or at least one who is learning to become one (he must accept his role). If nobody taught him at home, society and experience should've taught him. A man raised to be a husband knows from day 1 that his goal is to protect and provide for his family, and his role is to support you in doing that. This is a quality/role that most misogynists and men raised by abusive men (with little support from close female relatives) often lack. They are usually dictators, see you as competition, or, in other cases, are unaware of how to help rather than being supportive of you. What they bring is chaos rather than peace. Be careful out there. The man you spend most hours of your life with every day can make or break your home, career, and life. |
NwaAmaikpe:Shut the hell up. |
Some people often mistake independent women for anarcho-feminists. Not all women seek financial assistance or support from men, and some men do not even like that. A lot of men express their love through financial gestures and prefer to provide for their partners, regardless of whether she is independent or not. Sometimes, what one view as ideal may not be ideal for someone else. Not sharing your problems with your partner or allowing him to help you financially can create doubts in his mind. Personally, I don’t seek financial assistance or even communicate my problems with my bf. I only share my experiences with him after the problem has passed. But this didn’t sit well with him, and he later expressed his feelings about it. He made me realize that it doesn’t give off a feminine vibe and that, at times, it makes him feel like he isn’t the "real man" in my life. Unlike me, he seems to be a good communicator. If he weren’t, our relationship would have crumbled, and, as usual, I would have simply assumed that we weren’t just compatible. |

Bookhub:We are getting tired of Nigerian boys they are 99% public toilets. |

If you guys aren’t careful, intercountry marriages will become even more popular and widespread in Nigeria. |
Ladies, let society keep doing its own thing; you just keep chasing your dream like your life depends on it. Don't panic if Mr. Right is no longer available in Nigeria. By the time you achieve your dream, you can travel to other countries to find him. By then, you should have enough to finance your travels. And if African men are your preference, you can just choose a partner from neighbouring or other African countries. Not all countries share the same societal beliefs as Nigeria. In some places, age is just a number; men in their 20s fall in love with women in their 30s or 40s and don’t shy away from settling down with them. It’s mainly in Nigeria that some men deceive themselves and refuse to settle for the lady that they truly prefer because of the society. |
mosicola:Your comment reminds me of a conversation I had with my uncles. I recently visited one of my uncles, who holds a political position, and stayed at his house for a while. Another uncle, who lives abroad, was also in the country, so he came by as well. During our conversation about relationship matters, they highlighted that a guy has to "test the product before buying". According to them, many ladies these days claim to be virgins. Pele, sorry about your experiences but our society is to blame, too much double standard. The same society that has normalized sex in relationships is hyping and glorifying virginity. You too, stop searching for virgin up and down and focus on finding the right partner. |
Is it necessary to make up a story just to justify your sexual fantasies? Maturity entails knowing what you want and going for it. There are guys that cannot handle or stay in a sexless relationship, but don’t throw tantrums about it; they simply walk away or avoid such relationship. A woman’s body, her choice. Whether virgin or not, every woman has the right to say no to sex. Cry all you want. In Christ, even those who have engaged in sexual immorality have the privilege to turn a new leaf. |
I don't believe paying tithe is compulsory, but I do believe in free-will offering, so I pay my tithe as a free-will offering. Giving is part of ministry. If I don’t pay my tithe, I will be feeling guilty. I sometimes even give more than 10% as tithes, especially when I receive unexpected money or gestures. I am not a part of any department in the Church, I'm simply a benchwarmer, and I often avoid responsibilities. I can't be completely useless. |
As in, the funniest part is men don't cheat. |
FreeSpirited:What you support or oppose is a personal choice, but personal rules and beliefs cannot be imposed in a public forum that includes people from different religions, backgrounds, and perspectives. I hope you are not mistaking this for spreading the word of God. I am not endorsing premarital sex either; I am simply stating the obvious. |
FreeSpirited:It’s good to know that you have repented, but bear in mind that every sin is equal in the sight of God. Neglecting complete righteousness in your message while focusing solely on abstinence from premarital sex is not balanced. Culture can sometimes be biased. Instead of criticizing premarital sex based on cultural values, just focus on the Biblical principles you wish to uphold. |
DeeScan:I’ve never even had sex before, so your fantasy doesn’t apply to me. The only reason I couldn’t date him was that I only do sexless relationships, and he seemed like someone who wouldn’t be on board with that. |
