US plane bomb attempt
Northern elite, a disgrace – Major Umar

Secretary of the Council of Ulamas and a foremost northern critic, Major Abubakar Umar (rtd), has fired another blistering attack on the northern elite, describing them as a disgrace, first to the religion of Islam, the north and Nigeria.

Umar spoke against the background of the arrest of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, son of a foremost Nigerian banker of northern origin, Alhaji Umar Mutallab over alleged plan to bomb a plane in the United States.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Daily Sun in Kaduna, Umar said
“All these elite in the North they are like that. They don’t bother about our education here in Nigeria, since they have a place to send their wards to. Go to Dubai today, most of our serving and former governors, ministers, have estates and hotels there, but go to their States, nothing is there.

“And that is all they do, they don’t have time for their family. If this Farouk of a boy has a very sound religious background, devoid of satanic inklings, he would not attempt what he wanted to do,” Maj. Umar said.

Reminded that the young man throughout his stay in Nigeria never exhibited any trait of a fanatic, the Council of Ulamas’ scribe further said “da ma, ai, they are like that. Did late Yusuf show you any trait before he struck? Did he not appear gentle by physical appearance? You see, if the boy had grown up under the direct supervision of his father, he would have been placed on a strict surveillance, and would have returned to his senses, even if he has ideas that are strange to Islam, which other Muslims practice in the name of Islam.

“But the boy had to go abroad to study, and this is the consequence. I think Nigerians should start thinking of taking their destinies in their hands, as we cannot certainly put our destinies, especially those of us from the north in the hands of the elite.
“Thank God the thing is happening outside Nigeria, otherwise they would have covered it up, the way they covered others up in the past,” he alleged.
Asked to give examples of similar cases covered up in the past, Umar said, though the cases had nothing to do with terrorism, but because they concern northern elite and their “wayward children,” the cases were covered up.

He said for instance that when a son of a certain multi-millionaire businessman in one of the states in the North-West region once beheaded the wife, who incidentally was a relation of another retired army General from the Middle Belt, the case was covered up on the pretext that the man who committed the crime was insane.

Again he said, another son of a politician in the North was alleged to be the mastermind of the death of his father’s wife, and that that too was covered up. “There are several of such cases, but I know you will be afraid of mentioning their names,” Umar who mentioned the dramatis persona in the two instances above, said.
To this end, he called on the Nigerian elite, especially those of northern origin to take particular interest in what their wards did abroad, to stop bringing Islam, the North and Nigeria in general into avoidable public odium.

God forbid!! . . . . . My people and I will never be in a Union with those that fought against Biafra.
All the ethnic regions should break out and form their own republic . . . .Some thing like Oduduwa republic, Niger Delta republic et cetera

It should be a case of "To your tents oh Isreal".

Work with what u have; the available data punctured the prevailing idea, especially held and spread by the west, that Igbos don't patronize education. U see, many ppl think anambra, because of Onitsha, should be close to Zamfara and kebbi in the perking order. But in reality, Anambra rivals the top states with six accredited Universities and about 5 other higher institutions.
Thank you very much for the above highlighted line . .
These dumb Yorubas always try to reconcile the natural business acumen of Anambrarians(Igbos) with a weak academic zeal while deliberately ignoring the fact that Igbos have produced more of Nigerians intellectuals. Inaddition, Anambra state and other Igbo states also rank among the top literate states in Nigeria. . . . .   The data speaks for itself.
I believe that these Yorubas resort to all these false and silly propagandas because they are no match to Igbos in sports, business or other wise. Hence, there only consolation is to deliberately hang on to their  false academic claims.

As the experiment called Nigeria gradually heads to a kaput, the dead, old and young Nigerians who directly or indirectly fought against Biafra would see reason to apologise to Ojukwu,Ndigbo and all former Biafrans for the genocidal acts commited against them.

In words of Ojukwu, "Good morning Nigeria"

Onlytruth:
Look, my take on this is that a forum is supposed to address a particular aim. What is the aim of the politics section of nairaland? Is it to romanticize Nigeria? Or is it to dig deep to bring out enough facts to address issues that elites are not courageous enough to address in Nigeria? Does anyone remember how many times we've tried to organize a sovereign national conference in Nigeria, and how many times they all failed? huh

Whether we like it or not, the biggest POLITICAL problems we've had in Nigeria right from independence till date are TRIBAL and SECTIONAL. If I were the owner of this site I would combine all three into one real issue solving section where moderation is by way of very little intervention.
It is easy to pretend and sing kumbaya that we have a nation, but that is not true.

I personally believe that every Nigerian contributing to this forum is demonstrating a kind of patronage and support for Seun's business. I don't have to post here at all. I do so because I believe it is my way of supporting a Nigerian in his business, and if in the process we solve those problems the "elites" in Nigeria are too corrupt to solve, great! The international community can also read up enough from here to understand Nigeria more to enable them assist us in the change we need.

So, moderators bear these points in mind. Nigeria is a tribal country. We don't have a united country yet. All attempts to hush people here is tantamount to the same hushing and shout downs which greeted all attempts at conducting national conferences to create a nation in Nigeria in the past.
Onlytruth, thank you very much for the above write up. Some bigoted hypocritical elements in this forum thought that can throw out any fallacious story about peoples political affiliations or tribe without being fiercely challenged.
Anyway, METAL-GONG is already in this site and nobody can shut him up.

This is precisely the problem with the Nigerian state, eejits like yourself!!!!, you must be living  in another planet not to know that if not for Yorubas , there would be no Nigeria ( Yes I am Yoruba and proud and I honestly feel we deserve better than Nigeria),

All you can come up with is some rubbish about some Nigerian police arresting Yorubas, are u 12!!!, you should be aware of the Yoruba peoples contribution to the country u claim ( and  I would deliberately not give instances as I feel it would be too much for your IQ),

We are discussing a terror threat on a global scale , your triffling degenerated mind is referring to an incident in "Onipanu", are you for real??, you need help!!! mate

Have you been overseas b4 ??, obviously not!!!, most professionals are of Yoruba extraction( , and I didnt say all, u cant be all dullards), U need to think b4 you post next time ( this is not a forum for duping people or setting up prostitution, ), Word!!!!!
The above gibberish just gave credence to my guess that you are a retarded son of a demented dunce. . Instead of you fool to refute my claim that Yorubas and Hausas have recently proved to the world that they are born terrorists, you resorted to down play the attempted bombing of a Lagos tower by your yoruba brother. You even referred to the event as "a non global threat", really? . . You must be an addlehead.
You village champion even had the temerity to ask if I had been to overseas, huh? . .Such question further exposed your innate dumbness and stupidity.
Your inferiority complex made you to assert that most professionals overseas are of Yoruba extraction . .What a joke? Personnally, I wont join a retard in trumpeting others peoples achievements, evidence and facts speak for Ndigbo.
As I said earlier, your low life tribe has added terrorism to the already infamous yoruba toga which includes yahoo-yahoo, international credit card fraud, incessant political assasinations, international prostitution et ceterra.

Let me refresh your mind why you Yorubas and Hausas are bunch of terrorists who have brought shame to Nigerians~

Bomb latest: More recovered from suspect’s home
Headlines Dec 24, 2009
By Albert Akpor, Evelyn Usman & Monsur Olowoopejo
LAGOS—THE Police in Lagos, yesterday, said the explosive that rocked ‘Logemo House’ in the Onipanu area of the metropolis, was Improvised Explosive Device, IED, adding that they also carried out a search at the suspect’s residence where more explosive items were recovered.
Meantime, the police had warned against receiving gift items from unknown persons during and after the yuletide.
Speaking on the incident, the Commissioner of Police, Mr.Marvel Akpoyibo, said the suspect was helping the command with relevant information.

The target of the bombing, as reliably gathered, was the Superscreen Television Station, over a yet-to be unravelled cause. The suspect was identified as Olayiwola Ahmed, aged 27.
He is currently being treated at the intensive care unit of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, IKeja, where policemen are keeping watch over him.

But, a security expert, Mr. Wole Madariola, warned against the continued treatment of the suspect at a general hospital, saying he should be transferred to a military or police hospital.

He added that that would guarantee the safety of the suspect, who, is expected to unravel how he got the deadly parcel and his mission.

Akpoyibo said a check by policemen from the Bomb Disposal Unit led to the recovery of two more devices which were immediately defuse through a controlled detonation process.

The command, he said, was determined to unearth the motive behind the explosion and the suspect’s sponsors, but regretted that the suspect’s condition will hamper investigation. “This is because the suspect is in a critical condition and can barely talk,” he explained

Ojukwu is the Nostradamus of Nigerian . .
He saw all these recent terrorist attacks being commited by Yoruba and hausa . .
Within one week, a Yoruba terrorist tried to blow up a lagos tower and a Hausa terrorist tried to blow up an international passenger plane . . .
These was exactly how they were terrorizing the Igbos before and after the civil war and the Western powers kept mute and supported them. . .
Now the chickens have come home to roast, the Western powers must be regreting all the past support they gave to hausa and Yoruba in their genecidal acts against Ndigbo.

Long Live Odumegwu Ojukwu!!!

Yoruba governments are just surviving by taxing Igbo businesses and also extorting money from them with the use of Agberos and Alaye boys.
